Hope: You told Othello to lie?

Rick: I thought I was doing the right thing for you.

Hope: S-so Liam and Steffy making out on the dance floor--

Rick: It didn't happen.

Hope: (Gasps) All this ti--all this time, I've been so freaked out, and they didn't do anything wrong.

Rick: They were out partying all night.

Hope: Rick, I thought I'd been cheated on!

Rick: The night before your wedding, they got so banged up, he showed up with that ridiculous hair and that tattoo.

Hope: So what? Oh, so what? Liam didn't betray me. You did.

Rick: (Sighs)

(Knock on door)

Steffy: Bill? Katie? Um... I knocked, but, uh... Bill? Ooh. Mmm-mm. Mm-mm.

Steffy: Bill, what's going on? I'm at your house. You're at the park? Wait, I'm--I'm--I'm sorry. You text me to come here, but yet you're at the park with Will and Katie? I'm in your foyer. What? Go into the living room? Wha--o-okay. I'm--I am walking into the living room. I'm--I don't know. I'm staring at your fireplace. You want me to turn around? Why? Is this just some kind of, like, horror stor-- oh. (Chuckles) Feel free to stay at the park all day. Aah! You little... (Squeals)

Liam: (Sighs)

Steffy: (Laughs) Mmm. Mm. Mwah. Mwah. Mwah. Mwah. (Chuckles)

Liam: (Chuckles) Are you surprised?

Steffy: Don't do that to me.

Brooke: (Sighs) Hope will be so disappointed in her brother.

Caroline: You know what? Rick messed up, but he is making amends.

Brooke: Well, at least his heart was in the right place. (Sighs) Trying to protect her from...

Caroline: You can say it. My cousin.

Brooke: (Sighs) I like Liam. I really do. And I think they could make a great couple. It's just they have a lot to work through if that's ever going to happen.

Caroline: Well, now that Hope is finding out the truth, maybe it finally can.

Brooke: It's gonna be tough on Liam.

Caroline: Steffy.

Brooke: It could mean the end for them.

Steffy: I thought you weren't coming home until tomorrow.

Liam: I got done early.

Steffy: And you just didn't tell me, huh?

Liam: (Chuckles) I figured I'd surprise you. And I was right.

Steffy: Good trip?

Liam: (Sighs) Yeah. Yeah.

Steffy: You make your father proud?

Liam: Um, I think so. You know, I-I came straight from the airport. I updated him on everything. He gave a-a positive grunt, which I'm just gonna assume that's good.

Steffy: Yeah, that's good. (Laughs)

Liam: (Laughs) You know, I'm glad I went. I mean, I-I gave him some time alone with Katie and Will.

Steffy: Yeah. Well, they definitely needed it.

Liam: Yeah.

Steffy: Just don't get in the habit of leaving me, okay?

Liam: Okay.

Steffy: Okay. (Giggles)

Liam: (Sighs)

Rick: Look, I had a lapse of judgment.

Hope: (Scoffs)

Rick: It was stupid. I feel terrible. That's why I had to tell you.

Hope: Oh... (Scoffs) How noble.

Rick: Hope, I thought I was looking out for you.

Hope: By lying to me?

Rick: No, because I've seen you disappointed so many times. And after that failed wedding and all those pathetic pleas that he made-- Hope, you--you know--you know that you were ready to let him go. And I saw you walking down that path of forgiveness again, and--

Hope: Okay, so, what, you--you made up something that you knew I couldn't forgive?

Rick: Yes.

Hope: (Crying) Liam doesn't know.

Rick: No.

Hope: He will now.

Steffy: I'm glad you got home in time for the holidays.

Liam: Yeah. Well, there's no way I'm missing Christmas. I mean, I'm dedicated to my job and all, but I-I've got principles, man. I've got presents to open.

Steffy: Ohh.

Liam: Yeah.

Steffy: I don't know about that. Have you been a good boy?

Liam: Um...

Steffy: Mmm. Mm.

Liam: Mostly. I don't know. It depends on who you ask.

Steffy: (Laughs)

Liam: So, uh, what are our plans this year? I mean, is--is your grandfather having people over, or...

Steffy: Uh... (Sighs) Everybody wants to rally around him.

Liam: Yeah. Yeah.

Steffy: But I don't... (Sighs) I don't know. It's just--it's different. My grandma's gone. And my dad's out of town. Honestly, I just-- I would like to spend most of the day home alone with you.

Liam: While I unwrap my presents.

Steffy: (Laughs)

Liam: I want--I want lots...

Steffy: Yes, a lot of presents.

Liam: Lots of presents. Like big, big ones. I want a pony.

Steffy: (Laughs)

Liam: Tony the pony.

Brooke: (Sighs) I don' t want Steffy to get hurt.

Caroline: But that's what'll happen, right? When Liam finds out, he and Hope will get back together.

Brooke: I don't know. Possibly.

Caroline: Well, better it happens now, before Liam and Steffy get any more serious.

Brooke: Thank you for convincing Rick to do this.

Caroline: He decided.

Brooke: Because of you. You've been a wonderful influence on him.

Caroline: Well, that's why you brought me to L.A., right?

Brooke: (Chuckles)

Caroline: (Laughs)

Brooke: No, it was because of your exceptional designs.

Caroline: Mm-hmm.

Brooke: Okay, well, maybe...

Caroline: (Laughs)

Brooke: I had certain hopes.

Caroline: Well, I'm glad I could live up to them.

Brooke: Maybe you could help smooth things out between Hope and Rick. Now that the truth is out, it's going to be difficult on their relationship.

Caroline: They'll be fine. As misguided as it was, Rick lied to protect Hope. She'll get that.

Brooke: Do you think it's too soon to go back down there?

Caroline: Let's give them another ten minutes.

Brooke: Five.

Caroline: Okay.

Hope: I am not a child. I am perfectly capable of making my own decisions, and I have the right to live my life how I choose.

Rick: I know. I know. I get that. But when I see you make a-a huge mistake, I just feel like I need--

Hope: Okay, then tell me. You--you're allowed to disagree with me. That's fine. But don't lie to me. You're better than that. (Sighs) Oh, my God. Liam must think that I am such a freak. He was telling me the truth the whole time. Nothing happened between the two of them. Oh, my God, Rick. This is the one thing that has been keeping me from going back to him. This--thinking that he was making out with her on that dance floor, cheating on me, disrespecting me. And it was all a lie. Liam and I would be married right now if it weren't for you. And now he's with Steffy. Does she-- does she know about this? Is she in on it?

Rick: No.

Hope: Rick, don't-- please don't lie to me. Don't lie.

Rick: Look, I'm--I'm--I'm-- I'm not lying to you now. I wouldn't do that again.

Hope: Okay. (Sniffles) Well, then you've hurt her, too. Because as far as she knows, she and Liam are together again for good. Like hell they are.

(Cell phone alerts)

Steffy: (Groans) Are you kidding me? This is like the fifth message from Thomas since I got here. (Scoffs)

Liam: You are gonna have to go back at some point, you know?

Steffy: I know. But I don't want to.

Liam: (Laughs) Don't you have some sort of competition to win?

Steffy: Fine. I will go back to Forrester. But I'll see you later?

Liam: Mm-hmm.

Steffy: Okay. Hey, um, should we go out for dinner, if you're not too jet-lagged?

Liam: No, yeah, let's do it. Um, let's do sushi. And if I start to nod off at the dinner table, you can poke me with a chopstick.

Steffy: Mmm. A man has never nodded off with me as a dinner companion.

Liam: (Chuckles) Okay.

Steffy: And as far as the poking, at a restaurant, I mean, it-- it sounds interesting. But I'd much rather do it here.

Liam: What are you getting at? No, no, no, no, no, no. No poking. No, it's my kryptonite.

Steffy: (Laughs)

Liam: Anything but the poking. Oh, God, no!

Steffy: (Laughs)

Liam: Truce on the poking.

Steffy: Okay.

[Hope remembering]

Liam: I don't even understand where you got that from. What are you talking about?

Hope: The night before we were supposed to get married, you and Steffy.

Liam: No. No. We --we stayed up all night at the club. We crashed by the pool. I promise you.

Brooke: Sorry. Couldn't stand not knowing what was going on. Honey, are you okay?

Hope: No. No, I--no, I'm not okay.

Brooke: Try not to be too mad at your brother.

Hope: So obviously, you knew about this? Both of you?

Rick: Caroline is the one who convinced me to tell you the truth.

Hope: Okay... thank you, I guess. I don't know.

Brooke: I'm sorry. I really didn't know what to do when I found out.

Hope: Come to me. Tell me, Mom.

Brooke: Yes... (Sighs) I should have come to you. But the thing is, you and Liam were having so many problems. I was worried. The truth is, Sweetie, I think you're too young to get married.

Hope: Okay, okay, maybe, yeah, maybe. But that's--that's for me to decide.

Brooke: Yes.

Hope: Okay?

Brooke: Yes.

Hope: How am I supposed to make the right decision if I don't have all the facts? How is Liam supposed to-- I mean... yeah, maybe he--he'll still want to be with Steffy. You know, but he has to know that the reason I couldn't forgive him, the reason I couldn't go back to him is because of a lie. And he has to know right now.

Brooke: Are you gonna tell him to come over here?

Hope: No. No. I'm going to talk to him alone.

(Cell phone rings) (Rings)

Liam: Hope?

Hope: Hi.

Liam: Hey. It's good to hear from you.

Hope: (Sighs) Uh, where are you right now?

Liam: I'm out back at my dad's place. Why?

Hope: Okay, stay there. I'm coming over.

Liam: Wha--what--what's up?

Hope: I ju--you... (Laughs) I--you wouldn't believe it if-- you know, right now I'm just-- I'll explain it when I get there, okay?

Caroline: It felt good... telling her.

Rick: Not exactly. It felt right. Thank you. Thank you for helping me see what needed to be done. It's not my place to decide if Liam's the one for her or not.

Brooke: It's up to them now. She's probably telling him as we speak.

Rick: We don't know what will happen with Hope and Liam now. The important thing is, she knows the truth.

Caroline: Yeah. And soon he will, too.

Brooke: He and Steffy may be together, but when he finds out what he and Hope have been robbed of... I just Hope this is the reunion that they deserve.
