Brooke: We have to promise each other, no matter how bad we feel or how tempted we are, Katie cannot know that we kissed.
Bill: She's not gonna hear it from me.
Taylor: (Sighs)
Brooke: We have to forget that it even happened.
Bill: That, I won't be able to do.
Katie: It's dangerous to leave me alone.
Taylor: (Sighs) Why is that?
Katie: Since you've been gone, I've bought out a baby store.
Taylor: Making up for lost time, I'm sure.
Katie: It's just amazing how fast they grow! I-I-I just can't even believe how big Will has gotten in the last few weeks. Did you find Brooke and Bill?
Taylor: Uh, yeah, I found them.
Katie: Everything okay?
Bill: Brooke, that kiss, I--
Brooke: Don't say it.
Bill: Look, I'll--I'll never act on it. I love my wife. But you want me to forget it ever happened? I can't do that.
Brooke: You have to.
Bill: I'm not wired that way. Look, we were both reeling. And we were there for each other. We comforted each other. You nurtured my son when his mother couldn't. We shared laughter, tears, confidences, and that kiss.
Brooke: It can never happen again. (Sighs)
Bill: It's not going to. But you want me to forget the kiss happened? That, I can't do.
Katie: Is Will okay?
Taylor: Oh, uh, uh, yeah, Katie, he's fine.
Katie: Um, you just had a very strange look on your face.
Taylor: I'm--I'm just thinking about something.
Katie: Oh, of course. I am probably not your only patient, I--although, right now it probably seems that way. (Chuckles) Thank you so much for everything. I-I owe you.
Taylor: Well, I-I'm trying to be the best doctor I possibly can for you, and, um, you know, I-I just know that you've been through a lot. And I-I just--I don't want you blindsided by something that you're not really prepared to--to deal with yet.
Katie: That's not gonna happen. I am right back to where I belong. I am here with my two guys. With the care that Brooke and Bill gave my little boy, I just-- I can't thank them enough.
Taylor: Katie, I-I need to talk to you about something.
(Door opens)
Donna: Hello?
Katie: Hey.
Donna: Early Christmas for a certain baby--oh, hi!
Katie: Oh, my gosh! (Laughs)
Donna: How are you? Is it--oh, I'm sorry. Did I come at a bad time?
Katie: Oh, no, no. We're not in session. I'm just monopolizing Taylor's time, as usual. How are you doing?
Donna: Oh, well, with good effect.
Katie: (Giggles)
Donna: I mean, look at you. You are radiant. Look at you.
Katie: Oh. So happy to be home.
Donna: (Giggles)
Brooke: Well, what's all this? Is it--oh.
Donna: Oh, you know, just a few little things for Will.
Brooke: Oh, yeah?
Bill: Uh, that's gonna be one spoiled kid.
Katie: Yeah, did you doubt it for a minute?
Bill: Thank you.
Donna: Anything for my little nephew.
Bill: Hey, I'm gonna, uh, run by the office for a little bit...
Katie: Okay.
Bill: Unless you need me.
Katie: No. No. I'm just gonna spend some time with my sisters. (Chuckles)
Taylor: Well, I should go. (Sighs)
Katie: Thank you so much, Taylor, for giving me my life back.
Taylor: I'm happy.
Bill: I'll walk you out. (Sighs) Thanks for getting Katie back to us, Taylor.
Taylor: It sounds like you love your wife.
Bill: I do love my wife. Why would you say that? Katie's my whole world.
Taylor: Good. I'm glad.
Donna: So how do you like your new home?
Katie: I love it. (Laughs) I-I mean, I couldn't appreciate it at first or anything else, for that matter.
Donna: It must have been a dark and scary place.
Katie: I hope you never have to know. My perception of things was so distorted.
Donna: Well, you're gonna keep seeing Taylor, right?
Katie: Yes, absolutely. I mean, postpartum depression doesn't just disappear overnight. We have to be watchful.
Brooke: You seem 100%.
Katie: I feel 100%. (Chuckles)
Donna: Bill must be so happy to have his beautiful wife back.
Katie: He seems happy.
Brooke: He did miss you terribly.
Katie: Well, not as much as he would have if you hadn't been here holding my family together.
Brooke: I would do anything for my sisters.
Katie: Still, it was beyond the call, especially since I know Bill wasn't your favorite person. But you know what Brooke told me?
Donna: What?
Katie: She said that she's starting to see Bill in a whole new light. So at least one of my sisters understands why I married him.
Brooke: (Sighs) Yeah.
Donna: (Chuckles)
Justin: How is Katie? Is everything all right?
Bill: Uh, Katie's doing great. She's overjoyed at being home.
Justin: Everything's under control?
Bill: We hope so. She's gonna continue in therapy with Taylor.
Justin: Oh. Well, that's good.
Bill: I just wish it were another therapist.
Justin: Why? I thought that Taylor was a big help to Katie.
Bill: No, she has. But at this point, she is involving herself in--in personal matters. And Taylor isn't shy about expressing her opinion or interfering. I'm concerned that if she oversteps, she could undo some of the good that she's done.
Taylor: Got a minute?
Steffy: For you? Always.
Taylor: (Sighs) So, uh, making preparations for the big smackdown?
Steffy: Showdown, Mom-- fashion competition on the runway.
Taylor: (Gasps) Oh, no. When you and your brother reveal those amazing designs, I know it's going to be a smackdown for Brooke and her kids straight down to the basement where they belong for a change.
Steffy: Wow. I love the confidence.
Taylor: You're not worried?
Steffy: They're not untalented, you know. Brooke, Hope, Rick-- they've all been amazingly successful in this business.
Taylor: It is you and your brother's turn.
Steffy: Is that why you're here? Do you have an idea?
Taylor: No. Um, I-I wanted to, um, use you as a sounding board.
Steffy: Okay. What's going on?
Taylor: Well, if someone had some information that could be very upsetting to you, would you still want to know it, even if it might harm a relationship with a family member... (Inhales sharply) or your spouse? (Sighs)
Justin: So you're telling me that Katie was the one who arranged the balloon ride in Aspen?
Bill: Yes.
Justin: You said it was--
Bill: Alison--I--well, I-I thought it was Alison.
Justin: Okay, so why would Katie do that?
Bill: (Sighs) You're not gonna believe this, but in her depressed state, Katie was trying to bring Brooke and me together to act as parents to Will.
Justin: Wow.
Bill: That's how messed up she was.
Justin: Okay.
Bill: I know, but in her-- in her distorted thinking, it made perfect sense.
Justin: Huh. Well, it didn't work, did it?
Bill: What? What--n-no. No.
Justin: No.
Bill: Well... (Sighs) Brooke and I got closer, you know. I mean, it's only natural. How--how could we not? It was a very intense time-- left by our spouses, having to take care of a baby who needed us.
Justin: Mm.
Bill: We developed a friendship.
Justin: Well, Brooke is Katie's sister. It's family. I guess it's better for everyone that you two aren't at odds.
Bill: I don't know that Taylor sees it that way.
Justin: Taylor?
Bill: She's always had issues with Brooke.
Justin: Well, she's seen the bond developing between you two, and the good doctor is now insinuating things.
Bill: That's what I like about my shiny headed friend. I never have to paint a picture for you.
Justin: Well, well, Mr. Dollar Bill, is she coming out of left field, or is there something you haven't told me?
Bill: Uh, look, don't. Just don't even go there. Katie is our first priority. Brooke and I want to see her happy and--and content back in her life as a wife and a mother, loving sister. And that's all that matters.
Taylor: See, I've got this patient, and, um, they've been through a lot, and they're very fragile. And we've taken great strides to make a huge breakthrough. But what I have to say could possibly cause a setback, not just emotionally, but also it could cause some medical complications.
Steffy: That's heavy. Does the patient really need to know this information?
Taylor: Well, if it were me, I would want to know.
Steffy: Okay, so let's say, down the road...
Taylor: (Sighs)
Steffy: Would this patient be better off for knowing?
Taylor: Down the road-- that's exactly what I'm thinking about, because maybe this could prevent something disastrous from happening, and it's just... (groans) it's really risky.
Steffy: Well, you're the professional, not me. I can't tell you what's the best thing. But what I do know-- if you decide to tell this patient, it's because you've considered all the pros and all the cons, and you're doing it because you believe it's what's best. Something else about you is that you believe in honesty no matter the cost or consequences. Nothing destroys like a lie, even of omission, Mom. And how many times have you told me that, and how many times have I proved it to be true? So trust your convictions. They won't steer you wrong.
Taylor: Truth.
Steffy: Mm-hmm.
Taylor: Thank you. Thank you. I knew running this by you would be the right thing to do.
Steffy: Mm.
Katie: Well, it's too bad Donna had to go back to work. It was nice having both my sisters here. I don't get enough of that.
Brooke: Yeah. (Sighs) Well, now you'll just have to settle for me.
Katie: Settle? I don't think so. You're not just my sister. You're my best friend, obviously, since I left my husband and my child in your care. I-I knew you wouldn't let me down, because you never have.
Brooke: Don't paint a halo over my head. (Chuckles)
Katie: (Chuckles)
Brooke: I know I've made a lot of mistakes in the past, and you know, I've acted on impulse.
Katie: I know all about mistakes and all about regret. (Sighs) Walking away from my family, throwing you at Bill, and expecting you to just step in and be a mother to my son as if his mother never existed-- I mean, it's...
Brooke: You were dealing with a very serious illness. It clouded your judgment.
Katie: Well, as disturbing as all of this has been, the one thing I've realized is that I couldn't have handed my life over to a better person, because you did exactly what I needed you to do. You kept Bill sane, and you gave Will the hands-on care of a mother that I couldn't. I got a glimpse of what my life would be like without my husband, without my child, and without you, and it's someplace I never want to go again. (Sniffles)
Brooke: (Sighs)
Katie: (Chuckles)
Brooke: Oh, honey.
Katie: I know.
Brooke: (Chuckles)
Katie: I mean... I know I'm not through all this, that I'm going to be in therapy and that I'm going to have to work on it, but... (Sighs) but the worst is over... (Sniffles) and there's no damage because--because you were here. I am so lucky to have you as my sister.
Brooke: (Sighs) (Sighs)
(Flashback - voices)
Taylor: It sounds like you love your wife.
Bill: I do love my wife. (Sighs)
(Present time)
(Cell phone rings)
(Ring)
Brooke: Bill?
Bill: Can you talk?
Brooke: Um, yeah, sure. Is something wrong?
Bill: I'm not sure. But when I walked Taylor out earlier, I got kind of a strange vibe.
Brooke: Strange? How?
Bill: I can't nail it down, but it made my Spencer senses tingle. It was, uh, weird, like she knew.
Brooke: Almost like she knows that we kissed? No, that is impossible... (Sighs) unless--you said that you didn't tell anybody.
Bill: I didn't.
Brooke: Okay. Well, then nobody knows, and Katie's not going to find out.
Bill: I hope not, but I just can't shake this feeling.
Brooke: Bill, Taylor's always trying to find reasons to be suspicious of me, but she's not gonna find anything until maybe next time.
Bill: You know her better than I do.
Brooke: Just relax. You and Katie are solid. Nothing is going to interfere with that.
Bill: (Sighs)
(Knock on door)
Katie: Hey. Did you forget something?
Taylor: Uh, n-no. Um, are you alone?
Katie: Yeah. Um... do you want to continue our session?
Taylor: Oh, well, I-I do want to talk to you.
Katie: Uh, it-- it was a little strange having Brooke and Bill there. I mean, I felt a little self-conscious. But I think, ultimately, it was good that they try to understand what I did and why I did it. (Sighs) And then afterwards, I had some really good sister time, and I was able to thank Brooke again for stepping in and being there for my son and for my husband. (Chuckles)
Taylor: (Sighs)
Katie: It's just-- it's still staggering to me that I could ever abandon my family. I mean, I was just so unhinged trying to bring Brooke and Bill together. Uh, it--it's like my brain was scrambled. (Chuckles) Thankfully, I actually chose two people who would never ever go there.
Taylor: That's not true.
Katie: What?
Taylor: Here, have a-- could you sit down for a minute? Um... I've been struggling with... (Sighs) whether or not to tell you this. But, um, I-I know you've gone through a very difficult time, and--and I think that you've handled yourself with--with so much strength and so much integrity. And--and I feel that you deserve the same. It isn't fair for people... (Sighs) (Scoffs) that you trust to lie to you.
Katie: I don't understand what you're talking about. (Chuckles)
Taylor: While you were going through your very difficult time, the darkest days of your life with the postpartum depression, your husband and your sister were doing--well, they weren't just caring for your son. (Sighs) They became very close.
Katie: Yes, I know. They--they're friends now.
Taylor: (Sighs) No, Katie. They're more than friends... (Sighs) much more. They kissed.
Katie: (Gasps) (Sighs)
