Taylor: When you used to come up here when you were little, I used to picture this, seeing you sitting behind a desk after Eric and--and Ridge and then you taking your place. This is your right. It's your birthright. It's where you belong, and I don't want you to listen to anything the Logan’s might say.
Thomas: Don't worry, Mom. I have plans for Forrester. Okay, I see where we can go, and I'm not backing down.
Taylor: If Rick keeps giving you an attitude--
Thomas: Mom, please. Even Rick has to admit that we have to do something to stay relevant. It's the 21st century. We have to move forward-- more than move forward. But with me as C.E.O., we will be leaders again.
Eric: You sure you don't mind?
Pam: No, of course, I don't mind. I-I was gonna make a run to the bank anyway.
Eric: Good.
Pam: But which one of these keys is the key to her box?
Eric: I-I-I don't know.
Pam: Don't worry. I'll figure it out.
Eric: Good. I appreciate it. I mean, I-I-I don't have time, and you're the only other person with access to the box, and you know--
Pam: Eric, its fine. Anything I can do to help, okay? (Sighs) If--if I wait for Donna to get back from lunch, you're never gonna get the stuff from the safe deposit box before the bank closes, so I probably should go now.
Eric: Yeah.
Pam: I-I'll get Madison to cover for me.
Eric: Good. Okay. Thank you. And when you get back, bring it in to me right away, will you?
Pam: Well, even if you're still in the meeting?
Eric: Absolutely. Give me something to concentrate on other than, uh, everything.
Hope: What is this meeting even about?
Rick: It's about Thomas having 30% of the company and rubbing our noses in it.
Brooke: Rick.
Rick: What, am I wrong?
Eric: You? (Chuckles) Never.
Rick: Hey, Dad.
Eric: Hi, Son.
Brooke: You hanging in there?
Eric: Yeah, somewhat. How about you?
Brooke: About the same.
Eric: So what's this about? Thomas wants to further his, uh, his whole suggestions, all of his stuff about, uh, the boutiques?
Rick: Thomas has more shares than anyone now. He is C.E.O. This meeting will not be about proposals. It'll be about making demands.
Brooke: Isn't there something we could do to stop him?
Liam: You are so serious right now.
Steffy: Caroline, what's wrong? Should I leave? I don't--
Caroline: No. No.
Steffy: No, I-I mean, I won't be offended or anything. I have a-a-a meeting to go to. So it--it wouldn't be a problem.
Caroline: This actually involves you, too.
Steffy: Okay.
Liam: (Sighs)
Bill: Wow, what a great surprise-- my favorite niece. Of course, you're my only niece. Am I interrupting?
Liam: No. Caroline was just about to tell us something.
Bill: Well, she better tell you fast, 'cause you've gotta go home and pack.
Liam: Pack? What? Why?
Bill: Last-minute business trip. I can't go because of Katie and the baby, so you're going for me.
Liam: Uh, okay.
Bill: I'll get you everything you need to read on the plane. You have quite a few meetings to prep for.
Liam: Wait, wait, wait, where exactly am I--am I going?
Bill: So, Caroline, you got something to say, you better say it. Otherwise, it'll have to wait until Liam gets back.
Caroline: I was with Hope earlier. She still loves you, Liam. That's all I wanted to tell you.
Thomas: Well, Steffy's gonna be late. She's still over at Spencer.
Rick: All right, let's get started.
Thomas: That's fine by me. Granddad, I didn't know you were in today.
Eric: Rick called me. He felt I should be here for this.
Thomas: Good. Well, I'm glad you're here. Shall we sit?
Eric: Sure.
Thomas: Well... as you all know, my mother's been acting as trustee over my grandmother's shares. My attorney has confirmed with us, since Grandmother is no longer with us, that her shares are officially mine. So as largest stockholder and interim C.E.O., I'm prepared to implement some changes.
Bill: All right, this oughta keep you busy. We got, uh, this, these, these, there's that. Oh, yeah, and those.
Liam: Whoa! Wha-- (Sighs) It's a good thing it's such a long flight.
Bill: Well, plenty of time to memorize the data. Steffy can help ya. You can, uh, make flash cards. Turn it into a stripping game.
Liam: Yeah, now we're talking. Are you--are you coming?
Steffy: I-I wish, but I just got too much going on at Forrester. Actually, I-I got-- I got a meeting that I have to go to.
Liam: Well, this is--
Steffy: But I'm gonna miss you.
Liam: You, too. This is all so sudden.
Bill: Yeah, well, come on, Liam, you oughta know this by now. It's the nature of the business. Things come up at the last minute. Well, I'll give you two a moment.
Liam: Sure you can't come?
Steffy: No. I'd be too much of a distraction.
Liam: Maybe.
Steffy: Hey, um, are you okay with what Caroline said?
Liam: It doesn't change a thing, Steffy. Not a thing.
Steffy: I know.
Othello: Marcus, hi. Is Rick around?
Marcus: Othello, what's good, man? Um, no, actually, Rick's in a meeting right now.
Othello: (Groans) Okay.
Marcus: Something wrong? I mean, you want me to tell him something or what or--
Othello: Well--well... (Sighs)
Marcus: Caroline! Othello. Othello, Caroline. Y'all met?
Caroline: Othello, the deejay, right?
Marcus: The one and only deejay.
Othello: Hi. Nice to meet you.
Caroline: Oh, nice--nice to meet you, too.
Marcus: Wait, so do you mean to tell me that Rick hasn't taken you to go see him play? Girl, you better get your butt down there while he's still in town. Speaking of that, when you leaving back to Aspen?
Othello: Soon. Soon. Uh, there's a few things I need to wrap up here first. And then I'm out.
Marcus: Okay.
Othello: Anyway, I'll call Rick.
Caroline: Othello, wait. Can I talk to you for a second?
Liam: You know, this-- this is a huge responsibility, Dad.
Bill: You've proven yourself. You've shown excellent leadership skills.
Liam: (Grunts)
Bill: This will be good for you.
Liam: Thanks. (Scoffs)
Bill: Uh, Caroline earlier-- that was-- that was kind of weird, don't you think?
Liam: Yeah, it was a little weird.
Bill: I don't know why she'd, uh, want to bring up Hope. Uh, you know, maybe-- maybe it might be a good idea if you just tell her to keep her feelings about you and Hope to herself.
Liam: Oh, no. You know, its okay. I mean, I-- there's gonna be residual feelings between Hope and me. That's no secret. Steffy knows that. But Steffy also knows that--that I want to be with her now. I mean, there's no insecurity there. There's certainly no second-guessing on my part. I mean, when Hope made it clear that she was through with me, I--that was all I needed. I mean, it was hard, but I accepted it. I more than accepted it, actually, 'cause--I don't know-- being with Steffy feels right.
Bill: I'm proud of you, Liam. Moving on, not dwelling on the past-- you're a smart man, strong.
Liam: (Chuckles) Well, like father, like son.
Othello: You want to talk to me?
Marcus: (Chuckles) Uh-huh. What, you wanna quiz him about Rick's ex-girlfriends or something like that? You see, she knows that you and Rick go way back. Don't give up too much information. You might scare her off.
Othello: (Chuckles)
Marcus: Mm-hmm. Anyway, me and Dayzee are gonna come check you out before you shake, okay?
Othello: All right. I'm there for the next three nights, so make sure you come through, okay?
Marcus: Next three nights? Oh, I'm there. V.I.P., man. I ain't waiting in line. Okay.
Othello: I got you. I got you. I got you. So what do you want to talk to me about?
Caroline: I know about the lie.
Othello: The lie?
Caroline: No, it's okay. You don't have to pretend. I know that you didn't see Liam making out with Steffy. Rick told me.
Othello: (Chuckles) (Sighs) I'm so glad you know. I am so tired of this lie. That's why I'm here. I can't keep this secret any longer.
Caroline: And neither can I.
Pam: Hey, Madison, I'm back. Thank you.
Steffy: Hey, Pam.
Pam: Hey.
Steffy: Has the meeting started?
Pam: Yeah. You better get in there. Oh, wait, Sweetheart, will you do me a favor and hand this to your grandfather? Tell him it's all the contents of the safety deposit box.
Steffy: Okay.
Pam: Wait. That, too.
Steffy: Okay, Pam.
Pam: Thank you. (Sighs)
Thomas: Steffy, come on in.
Steffy: Hey, sorry I'm late. Granddad, here.
Eric: Oh.
Steffy: It's from Pam. She said it was everything.
Eric: Thank you. Thanks.
Thomas: I hope you'll all support me. It's time to implement this with or without your approval.
Rick: Dad, you have to do something.
Eric: I can't. I'm no longer in control. It's their company now.
Caroline: I can tell that you don't feel good about it.
Othello: I hate it. That's why I'm here. Rick has to fix this.
Caroline: And he wants to. He confided in me, and we want to tell them.
Othello: Oh, good.
Caroline: Well, maybe not. It's complicated now. My uncle's involved and so is Rick's mom. And there's all this pressure to just drop it.
Othello: We can't. Hope and Liam need to know.
Caroline: I was with Hope earlier. She still loves you, Liam.
("Water in My Hands" playing)
Where did the time go? You used to fit right in my hands let's build us a time machine so we can go back and grow up again oh, oh, oh, oh oh, oh, oh mm, mm, mm, mm mm
Liam: (Sighs)
Steffy: What are you saying? Thomas doesn't have a right to do this? Because he does.
Brooke: I-I'm not-- I don't want to cause an argument, okay?
Steffy: It--it seems like it.
Hope: I think what we don't understand is why we're not sticking to the original plan.
Rick: The shop on Rodeo Drive-- Dad already agreed to that. He feels that the clients--
Steffy: Thomas gets to decide what's best for our clientele.
Hope: Okay, but, Thomas, before you make all these major decisions for the company, wouldn't you want to speak to someone who's more experienced and give you advice? I mean, you've been talking to Ridge. What has he been saying?
Thomas: I've run all these ideas by him, yes, but honestly, he's checked out. He needs time away from all this.
Taylor: Understandably, and thank goodness he felt comfortable enough to be able to go away, because he knows that Thomas is the best one to handle this, and that's why he left him in charge.
Brooke: What Hope is trying to say is that there's a wealth of knowledge for Thomas to tap into-- Ridge, Eric.
Hope: From Rick, who was at International for all those years.
Steffy: So he's going to ask Rick for advice because he spent a few years drinking wine in Paris?
Rick: Excuse me?
Hope: (Clears throat)
Steffy: Thomas paid his dues. When was the last time you worked in the basement?
Hope: Um, when have you, Steffy?
Thomas: Steffy. Steffy, don't.
Steffy: Actually--
Thomas: I-I'm sorry this has gotten contentious. It wasn't my intention. I just want to let you know how things are going to be.
Eric: We should play this.
Thomas: I'm sorry, what?
Eric: Can you play this? It's from Stephanie. It was in her safety deposit box. I want to know what it is.
Rick: (Sighs)
Caroline: Hey, is he still in here? Thank you. Liam, I lied. And you're gonna be really, really upset, but just please let me say this, okay? Okay, Hope still loves you. That's--that's--that wasn't a lie, but that is not the reason that I came here. That's not what I wanted to tell you. And then your--your dad walked in, and there's just-- there's so much more going on than you and Hope even realize. And I cannot let you go on this business trip without telling you the truth. Deacon did not just go to Italy on his own. Your dad got him out of jail and then he flew him to Italy, because he wanted to mess with the wedding, Liam. And--and then it gets just-- it gets so much worse, because then the night of your wedding here, that thing that Hope can't forgive you for, it's because she was lied to, because even though nothing happened between you and Steffy that night, Rick convinced Hope that something did. And then he had his friend lie to her and tell her that he saw you and Steffy going at it and-- and I am just--I-I am so sorry that I didn't tell you the second I found out, and I should have, and I didn't, and I am so sorry. And you're not... you can't even look at me. Liam, I am so sorry. I am so sorry.
Thomas: (Sighs)
Steffy: This is from Grandma's safety deposit box?
Eric: Yeah. It says "To the family."
Brooke: You don't know what it is?
Eric: No.
Taylor: It looks recent.
Stephanie: (Sighs) You probably thought you'd seen the last of me. (Chuckles) (Breathing heavily) Eric, I hope you're watching this. I hope you didn't dillydally getting to the safety deposit box. I hope you got there before the I.R.S. anyway, if it is you, Eric-- and I hope it's not some great grandchild, because this will all be for naught-- Honey, you need to have the family with you, so if you have to get them together, just press pause, all right?
Eric: No, let's keep it going. It's fine.
Stephanie: (Coughs) (Sighs) My father was a very suspicious and unforgiving chap, especially where I was concerned. But he was also a very astute businessman. And he never, never signed a contract that didn't contain a loophole. And that's what got me to thinking. So I called the lawyers, and... (Coughs) I-I had them do a little research. Sure enough, that smart-alecky young lawyer in contracts and agreements found a loophole in the original incorporation papers of Forrester Creations. And that loophole... (Sighs) It gives me, because I was the original financier of the company, it gives me the ultimate authority to appoint a successor.
Thomas: I am her successor. I have her-- her shares in a trust.
Stephanie: And when I say successor, I don't mean interim. I mean... (Coughs) Permanent C.E.O. so... (Breathing heavily) The new C.E.O. of Forrester Creations... (Coughing) I'm sorry. (Coughing)
