Liam: So there's something I need to know? I'm right here. What is it?

Bill: (Whispering) I didn't realize Katie was in there with him.

Steffy: (Whispering) That was very sweet, them napping together.

Bill: (Sighs)

Steffy: It's great that they're finally reunited.

Bill: Well, that's what I wanted for Will all along.

Steffy: But it must have been a shock to you.

Bill: You could say that, yeah.

Steffy: How long has she been gone?

Bill: Too long.

Steffy: And now Katie's back, and all is forgiven, right? You can talk to me, Bill. Are you happy?

(Doorbell rings)

Brooke: Taylor.

Taylor: Hi. I'm sorry to just stop by like this, but I just need a moment.

Brooke: Unfinished business?

Taylor: Oh, I'm not here to smack you back, if that's what you're worried about.

Brooke: (Sighs) I should probably apologize for that.

Taylor: Okay.

Brooke: I'm sorry. I never should have slapped you. But you did deserve it.

Taylor: Half-hearted apology accepted.

Brooke: Look, I'm really not in the mood to fight again, so...

Taylor: No. I'm--I'm not here to fight. I'm here to commend you.

Liam: Hey! It's not nice to keep secrets from your family. Spill it, Coz. What are you--what are you not telling me?

Caroline: Liam, I...

Rick: (Clears throat)

Caroline: That is, Rick and I...  

(Doorbell rings)

Liam: Yeah? What--all right, I'm gonna get that. Just hold that thought.

Hope: Liam.

Liam: Hi.

Hope: I-I--sorry. I didn't expect you to be here.

Liam: Yeah. You--you're a surprise, too.

Hope: Did I interrupt anything?

Liam: No. No. Uh, my dad just--just called the family over to welcome Katie home. You qualify, obviously.

Hope: Oh, good. (Chuckles)

Liam: Yes.

Hope: Um, how is she?

Liam: She's good. She's happy to be back with my dad and Will.

Hope: Good. Uh, can I see her?

Liam: Um, uh, well, she's napping in the nursery right now with Will, but you're welcome to come hang out.

Hope: Oh, um... yeah, maybe for a little while.

Liam: Come on in. Yeah.

Hope: Okay.

Bill: What's with the tone, Steffy? You think I'm not happy my missing wife finally came home?

Steffy: I think you might be a little torn. You had basically written her off.

Bill: I was damned upset.

Steffy: And then there was Brooke.

Bill: Meaning?

Steffy: I saw how close you guys were. I saw it myself in Aspen.

Bill: Brooke helped out, and I'm grateful. Couldn't have done it without her.

Steffy: That's what I'm saying.

Bill: (Sighs)

Brooke: You're here to commend me? Is this some kind of setup?

Taylor: Actually, the more accurate way to put it is I'm here to thank you for stepping up and helping Bill with the baby while Katie was away.

Brooke: That's funny. I got the impression that you disapproved.

Taylor: Well, Katie couldn't be a mother to Will, and you were able to do that, and I applaud you for that. But thank goodness Katie's better now. She's recovered, and she's ready to function again as a mother.

Brooke: Because of you. I want to thank you for being there for my sister during this very difficult time. And you didn't give up. We were worried about her, all of us.

Taylor: And I was happy I could help. And I'm sure it was something that was good for you after this difficult phase you've been going through-- probably not even... (Sighs) Finding a reason to get out of bed every day after losing Ridge. So I was wondering... now that this is over with Katie, how are you planning on moving on with your future?

Liam: (Chuckles)

Rick: I'd let it go if I were you.

Caroline: I don't know if I can.

Hope: (Laughs)

Rick: I'm torn, too. Steffy and Liam are together. They're happy. Hope's moving on.

Caroline: It doesn't look like that from over here.

Rick: I'm not saying that we shouldn't come clean. I'm just saying that we should weigh the repercussions first.

Liam: 'Cause you-- the C.E.O. office.

Hope: Kind--it's a little along those lines.

Rick: Hey, Sis.

Hope: Hi. Hey.

Caroline: You must be relieved about Katie.

Hope: Oh, I'm so glad she's home.

Liam: So what were you guys gonna tell me?

Rick: Caroline and I wanted to know if you and Steffy wanted to have dinner.

Liam: Uh--

Hope: (Clears throat)

Rick: You know, in interest of--of furthering my relationship with your family.

Liam: Really? Dinner? I'm mean, that's--yeah, sure. I just--I thought it'd be more than that.

Rick: Well, Caroline wanted me to ask you first just in case you were uncomfortable, you know, me being Hope's brother and all.

Liam: Uh, no.

Rick: And--h-hey, if it's too soon, I understand. We can do it another time. You ready to go?

Caroline: Sure. Yeah. It was really good to see you, Hope.

Hope: Yeah, good seeing you, too.

Caroline: Okay.

Hope: Bye.

Rick: (Clears throat)

Liam: Drive safe. That was weird.

Hope: What?

Liam: Uh, nothing. I just--I could have sworn... nothing. Never mind. (Sighs)

Caroline: Liam and Hope deserve to know the truth.

Rick: If I would have known that Bill set up Hope with Deacon in Italy, I would have never told that lie. I was just trying to protect my sister.

Caroline: No, I get it. But now that we know what really happened, you still want to try and keep two people that love each other apart?

Rick: Look, I know that there's a lot that you don't understand. (Sighs) There's a lot of history between Hope, Liam, and Steffy...

Caroline: (Sighs)

Rick: (Sighs) These--these old patterns that repeat and always end up with the same result-- Hope's heart getting broken.

Hope: I'll call you later. Bye.

Liam: Hmm.

Hope: Sorry.

Liam: Hey, your mom, by the way, has been, like, amazing with this whole thing with Katie. My dad would have lost it if--if she weren't around to help out.

Hope: (Sighs) Well, you know, I think it was really--it was good for her, too, because it gave her something to keep her mind off of Ridge.

Liam: Oh, yeah.

Hope: So... how is it having a little brother?

Liam: It's amazing.

Hope: Yeah?

Liam: Yeah. Every day, you see him become more and more... himself.

Hope: Aw, that's so cute!

Liam: I know.

Hope: I hope he doesn't get confused.

Liam: Uh, over what?

Hope: Uh, well, if you haven't noticed, you both have the same name.

Liam: (Laughs)

Hope: (Laughs)

Liam: I know. It cracks me up. That is so my dad.

Hope: It really is. He has two sons, and they're both named after him.

Liam: (Laughs)

Hope: (Laughs) God.

Liam: I have not seen you smile like that in a long time.

Hope: (Chuckles)

Steffy: Come on, Bill, it's me. You really expect me to believe you and Brooke aren't a whole lot closer than you were?

Bill: Well, of course we are. You go through what we did, and that's only natural.

Steffy: Exactly. Bonded by worry-- Katie and Will-- its pretty powerful stuff.

Bill: (Sighs) Do you actually have a question you want to ask me, Steffy? If so, just spit it out.

Steffy: Okay. Tell me the truth. Did anything happen between you and Brooke?

Brooke: I apologize if I've been insensitive to you in the past, so smug and secure like nothing could ever touch me.

Taylor: (Sighs)

Brooke: And yet here we are. We're in the same boat, except that you've had a head start. You actually know how to be alone.

Taylor: Well, it really isn't so bad once you come to terms with it. It's just a matter of learning to live with yourself, getting to know yourself, and taking the time to reflect on your mistakes and learn from them, which brings me around nicely to the subject I wanted to talk to you about-- you and Bill.

Brooke: I knew this visit wasn't gonna go so well. (Sighs)

Taylor: Look, even though Katie had a breakthrough, I... (Sighs) I'm still very disconcerted about her intentions.

Brooke: Intentions?

Taylor: Katie had this idea that you and Bill could parent Will permanently.

Brooke: I don't understand.

Taylor: (Sighs) Aspen, the hot air balloon ride-- that was all Katie. She has been orchestrating bringing you and Bill together as a couple.

Brooke: No, Taylor. That doesn't make sense.

Taylor: Well, it--it did to Katie in her very depressed, very distorted way of thinking.

Brooke: Why would she throw her sister at her husband?

Taylor: For Will, because she was paralyzed by her fear of dying, and she couldn't bond with her son. And then she got this desperate idea that you could take her place.

Brooke: Does Bill know this?

Taylor: No. Well, I haven't said anything to him. But... (Sighs) That's why I came over here the other day-- because I was concerned. And I've seen how close you and Bill have gotten. I can see there's a-a connection. And--and--and you went away with him. And then it's like when you came back to the house, I-I could see that... (Stammers)

Brooke: We were shocked to see Katie. She's the last person we expected to see.

Taylor: Yes, I know, but it was like you weren't even glad to see her. It was like you didn't even want her there.

Brooke: I resent that.

Taylor: Okay, so did anything inappropriate happen with you and Bill?

Brooke: I think you should leave.

Taylor: I'm just saying that their family unit is very fragile right now, just like mine was when I came back from my tragic ordeal. And I-I know you got very close with Ridge, and you created a bond, and I--it would just be a shame if that were to happen to your sister. That's all I'm saying. I'm just letting you know.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Steffy: I'm just saying the two of you here without spouses...

Bill: (Sighs)

Steffy: Commiserating, bonding. Who could blame you if it went a little further than either of you intended?

Bill: Okay, Steffy, I have indulged you. And now it's enough.

Steffy: Touchy, touchy. I'm sorry. Just forget I said anything. Who could blame you if it went a little further than either of you intended?

Liam: So you ready for me to dazzle you with my awesome powers of deduction?

Hope: Yes.

Liam: Present for Will.

Hope: (Gasps)

Liam: Huh?

Hope: How did you know that?

Liam: Right? I know.

Hope: How did you know? What was your first clue?

Liam: I may or may not have been with you when you picked it out in Italy.

Hope: (Chuckles) Yeah.

Liam: Baby's first Christmas ornament?

Hope: Yes. (Laughs)

Liam: Ah!

Hope: Yeah, that little store in Alberobello.

Liam: Yeah.

Hope: So many memories.

Liam: Yeah.

Steffy: Hope. I didn't know you were coming.

Hope: Oh, yep.

Liam: Hey.

Steffy: Hey.

Hope: I just, um, came to drop off a present for Will.

Steffy: Oh, that's so sweet. Katie's gonna love it.

Hope: Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Steffy: It's great that she came home.

Hope: Oh, yeah. It's--it's just the best news. Um, I'm gonna go, so just, uh, yeah, tell Katie that I was here and that I love her, okay?

Liam: Yeah.

Hope: (Clears throat)

Steffy: Bye.

Liam: Um... okay.

(Door closes)

Steffy: Was it something I said?

Liam: No. It's just... awkward still.

Steffy: Mm. That spell she puts on you. (Tsking)

Liam: What?

Steffy: Come here, Mr. Spencer.

Liam: (Scoffs)

Steffy: Let me work my magic. Mm.

Liam: Mm.

Caroline: If Hope and Liam got back together, and they talked things out, maybe it would be like a fresh start for them.

Rick: Why do you care so much?

Caroline: Because I like Hope. I respect her. She's got convictions, and she lives by them, even when it hurts. And now her future with Liam has been blown up all because of lies and deceptions.

Rick: Mm-hmm.

Caroline: That's-- that's not fair. Hope deserves to know the truth, and then she can make her own decision. I know that you love and respect your sister. You owe her this, Rick.

Rick: Yeah. (Sighs) But maybe we're not gonna figure that out today.

Caroline: Okay. But we're not through talking about this.

Rick: We are now.

Caroline: (Giggles)

Steffy: (Giggles)

Liam: Ooh.

Hope: (Sighs)

(Doorbell rings)

Brooke: (Sighs) Okay. (Sighs)

Brooke: Bill.

Bill: I need to talk to you.

Brooke: Why?

Bill: The time we spent together... (Sighs) Aspen... the support you gave me, all your help with Will, I... (Sighs) I couldn't have done it without you, Brooke. And then Big Bear-- the thought of that kiss being our last...
