Bill: "I want a divorce. Our son is yours; now find him a good mother, something I cant be."

Liam: Well... (Sighs) will's in dreamland.

Steffy: Yeah, he looks so peaceful.

Bill: This isn't what I wanted for my son's first weeks of life. He should be home in his crib, and his mother should be rocking him to sleep.

Brooke: She will when she gets better.

Bill: How is she gonna get better, Brooke, when she's pulling stunts like this?

Liam: Hey, Dad, but that's the whole thing. I mean, something's wrong with Katie.

Bill: I know something's wrong with her, Liam. That's what scares me. She has abandoned our son. How could she do that?

Taylor: Bill, call 9-1-1.

Katie: No

Taylor: Katie.

Katie: (breathing heavily)

Taylor: You're under distress. You need to let me get somebody.

Katie. No. No doctor. No doctor. Promise me or else I will-I will--

Taylor: Okay. What? What? What? What?

Katie: (Breathing heavily)

Taylor: Katie. Katie.

(Heartbeat thumping)

Katie: (Breathing heavily)

Taylor: Here. Here, drink this.

Katie: (Sighs

Taylor: What just happened?

Katie: (Sniffles) (sighs) I have to go.

Taylor: No. No. Listen, I-I would rather you be seen medically.

Katie: No. No.

Taylor: At- at the very least, let me call.

Katie: I'll be gone before you finish dialing. This is the way it has to be. I am doing what's best for my son and what's best for bill and--and they will understand. One day, they will both understand. You--you will help them understand. But until then, I have to leave. I'm doing what's best for my son and for his father.

Bill: Well, make sure you keep it quit, if Katie's wandering around aspen. I don't give a damn what you're doing. Drop it. This is your top priority.

Liam: Hey, you know, I can go looking for her, too.

Brooke: We don't even know if she's still in aspen.

Bill: (sighs) Wherever she is, I'm going to find her.

Steffy: She doesn't want to be found, bill.

Bill: Katie doesn't get to decide my future or our son's. What is she doing? She's abandoned our son.

Steffy: She's not in her right mind.

Brooke: (Sighs) Look, I'm not really happy with my sister right now, either. Don't you think we should just take a step back--

Bill: You know what, Brooke? I really can't hear that right now.

Brooke: (Clears throat)

Bill: I have a baby son whose mother is gone and he needs her, and so do I. I mean, Katie in no condition to be wandering around.

Liam: Okay. All right. What if she's not in aspen? Where would she have gone?

Steffy: What about your dad's? He lives in Dallas, right?

Brooke: Yeah, I could call him and see if--

Bill: Don't bother. She's not there. Katie knows that's the first place we'd check.

Liam: Well, she just disappeared, so..

Steffy: You know, when Katie sets her mind on something... Look, Brooke, I'm sorry, but if Katie doesn't want to be found, she won't be.

Taylor: Katie, you have a beautiful new baby, and you have an adoring husband.

Katie: Look, we've talked this to death. (Scoffs) No pun intended.

Taylor: You're that convinced that you're dying.

Katie: It could happen at any moment.

Taylor: You could also live.

Katie: The longer I'm here, the worse it is for Will. I will love him more, and he will grow more attached to me. There are no happy endings with this, Taylor.

Taylor: It isn't how much time you have. It's how you spend it, and you could be spending this time loving your son and building wonderful memories for him.

Katie: You are not listening to me. I won't live that long. Look, appreciate what you're trying do, but ...

Taylor: So, that's it? You're just giving up. You're taking the easy way out.

Katie: All right, this is payment. Now I'm your patient. I expect confidentiality.

Taylor: Katie, I-I don't want your money. I don't. I want you to just sit here with me and talk to me and calm down.

Katie: We have-- we have already done that. I am thinking clearly, Taylor.

Taylor: Maybe not. This could be postpartum depression.

Katie: Don't say that. Don't put that label on me. I am not depressed. I am taking action. I am making hard choices. That's what bill does. That's one of the reasons why I love him so much. He will understand that I am doing this for our son.

Taylor: No! You're making connection that you don't to bond with your son, because you don't want to get too close to him in case anything happens to you.

Katie: I don't want that for will. I don't want that for me. That's why I sent them to Aspen. Brooke isn't with Ridge right now, and I don't know what will happen when he comes back, but for right now, there is an opening. Brooke loves my boy and he loves her and--and--and bill and Brooke can raise him together. They can be a happy family.

Taylor: Katie, listen to me. If you want to play matchmaker, fine, then do it when there's a real medical crisis.

Katie: No, I have a plan, and I'm putting it in motion for will's sake.

Taylor: What about you? What about your life?

Katie: I shouldn't even be here. I was shot in the heart. I was legally dead. I died again after giving birth. I can't debate this any more. I have to go.

Taylor: Okay, you don't want to talk to me then let me, uh, let me get a phone number for you. I've got a colleague that's really amazing, and I'd rather you give someone a call.

(Door opens)

(door closes)

Taylor: (sighs)

Liam: My dad-- this is killing him. I know it is.

Steffy: I mean, what is Katie thinking? She's not. Here.

Liam: Thanks. That poor little baby.

Steffy: Hey, will's gonna be okay. He's got a big bother to make sure of it.

Liam: (Sighs) yeah.

Steffy: And he's got his dad, and he has Brooke. Yeah, I know. Me giving Brooke Logan props-- who would have thunk?

Bill: Thank God he's too young to know what his mother's done. (Sighs) I'm not even sure what Katie's done. I just know that the way she's going about this is not the way to handle it.

Brooke: (sighs) I know you're frustrated.

Bill: No, Brooke. I'm not frustrated. I'm angry. This is supposed to be an incredibly happy time for our family, but it's not, because Katie's convinced herself she's not a good mother.

Brooke: Bill.

Bill: I know. I-I know it--it's not--it's not that simple. (Sighs) but when I look at that innocent sleeping little boy, walking out on him is not the answer.

Katie: (Sighs) Were you followed?

Woman: No, I was careful. I left the envelope in aspen just as you asked, and here's your gate key.

Katie: (Sighs) thank you. Thank you so much. I can't even tell you how much I appreciate it.

Woman: Oh. Of course, Mrs. Spencer. I want to help you any way that I can.

Katie: You have been an amazing assistant and an amazing friend. Thank you, and--and please don't say anything about this to anyone especially my husband and sisters and go back out the way you came in.

Woman: Okay.

Katie: (Sighs)

Will: (Fusses)

Brooke: Come on, Katie. Come on down here and play with Will. What is all that noise you're making?

Bill: Look at that. Just a little prince.

Katie: I am incapable of being his mother. I am sorry, but I can't do it. I can't be his mother. (Sighs)

Steffy: Not exactly the mai tai swizzle we thought we'd be sipping, but hey.

Liam: (Chuckles

Steffy: Go with the flow.

(Bottles clink)

Liam: I'm so in the doghouse with you

Steffy: Mm. Mm-hmm. Yes. Yes, you are. 7,000 feet above sea level, and all we have is a bag of bikinis.

Liam: (Sighs)

Steffy: Not a tropical beach in sight.

Liam: I'll make it up to you.

Steffy: Mm-hmm. It's a start.

Liam: (Chuckles) Seriously, though, we really can go.

Steffy: No. No, no, no. I-don't want to. I want to stay here, and I want to support your father, and I know that's what you want, too.

Liam: Well, what I want is for Katie to come to her senses.

Steffy: What if she doesn't?

Taylor: Katie?

Bill: Please tell me you've heard from her.

Taylor: Oh, gosh, Bill. Uh, thank goodness. I was about to call you. Where are you?

Bill: I'm in aspen with will and Brooke. We tracked katie's cell phone here but--

Taylor: No Katie.

Bill: No. She left a note, Taylor. She wants a divorce now. I don't know if she's floating around Aspen or what.

Taylor: She was just here.

Bill: What?

Taylor: Yes, at my beach house. Uh, she left. I don't know where she went.

Bill: Did you try to stop her? Katie's.. with Taylor, or at least she was. She took off again.

Taylor: I did everything I could to try and stop her, believe me.

Bill: I can't believe this.

Taylor: Look, why don't you call me when you get back in town? And if I hear anything from Katie, the minute I do--

Bill: You'll call me immediately. (sighs)

Brooke: Is Katie? What did Taylor say?

Bill: We didn't think Katie was thinking straight. Well she's thinking pretty straight, Brooke. She sent us here on purpose. She must have arranged for someone to bring her cell phone, knowing that we would try to track her down. I mean, she- she's doing everything she can to throw us off track.

Brooke: What? That's--that's crazy. We--we better get back to L.A.

Bill: What message is she sending, Brooke? I mean, your sister went to great lengths to steer us in the wrong direction. She wants to walk out on me and our son. Why? I don't know what the hell to do now. (Sighs)

Man: This all you got?

Katie: Yes.

(dog barks)

Man: Not exactly a palace, but the rent's cheap.

(Banging)

Man: Here's two sets of keys. I-I know you said you wanted to pay monthly, but you get two months free if you sign a year's lease.

(Cat whining)

Katie: I won't need a year.

Man: Well, I didn't have chance to get everything out from the last tenant, uh, you moving in so quick and all.

Katie: Just leave it.

Man: Well, if you need anything...

Katie: Just my privacy.

Man: Right. Gotcha.

(Thunder rumbles)

(Heartbeat thumping)

Liam: This is so weird. You know, a baby's born and a marriage ends? That's, like, the opposite of how it goes. I mean, kids bring people together, don't they?

Steffy: Mm, not always. Nothing in life is certain.

Liam: Yeah.

Steffy: But if you want something or someone bad enough, it can work out.

Liam: I know. I'm not so sure this time.

Steffy: You better be talking about your dad and Katie.

Liam: I just... (Sighs) It's... I man, Katie, she's so... stable, you know? I mean, and this- this is... I don't know. I don't get it. I don't know. You can't, like abandon this--this-- this little helpless baby, especially after everything she went through to bring him into this world.

Steffy: I know.

Liam: (Sighs)

Steffy: I mean, I wish there was something we could do.

Liam: Me, too.

Steffy: I just can't think of anything.

Liam: What were we talking about?

Steffy: Chuckles) You are so bad.

(Thunder rumbles)

Katie: (Sighs)

(heartbeat thumping)

Katie: (Breathing heavily) (Sobbing)

(Heartbeat thumping)

Bill: Katie's not the woman I thought she was.

Brooke: (Sighs) You have to think of everything she's been through. She had a heart attack right after she gave birth.

Bill: Brooke, I know all of that. And I know that Katie was willing to go through the risk of pursuing this pregnancy, and she did it. She beat the odds. She delivered a beautiful healthy baby boy. Now, where the hell is she?

Brooke: I don't know. I don't understand.

Bill: Well, maybe that's what Katie's been saying all the way along. She's not cut out to be a mother.

Brooke: No. (Sighs) I can't accept that and neither can you.

Bill: I don't know what to believe. I just know that I don't want my son growing up with one parent.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Bill: If Katie wants to walk out on me, okay, but will? I mean, I didn't grow up with a father, and my mother would... (sighs) I still have the scars. I don't want that for my kid. Katie said she's not meant to be a mother. Well, maybe she's right.

Will: (Fusses)

Bill: I could learn to live without her. But what about will?

Will: (Cries)

Bill: Come here. You're fine. I got you. Come here. You're okay.

Will: (coos)

Bill: Yeah,  you want your mommy, huh? So do I.

Will: (Cries)

Bill: Shh, shh, shh, shh. It's okay. I got you. I got you.
