Katie: (Sighs)

Taylor: You're afraid that you're going to abandon him. You're afraid that you're going to die. So you're not allowing him to get attached to you.

Katie: I love my son so much that--that it hurts. It actually physically hurts. But if bond with him, if will attaches to me, then--then what happens when all of a sudden I'm gone? It's better if he doesn't know me at all.

(Katie's heart beating)

Katie: (Sniffles)

Will: (Fusses)

Brooke: It seems like Katie's making progress. A day or two ago, she couldn't even hold will. She seemed like she was shutting down.

Bill: Right, right. And now look at her. She's up there, and she is... wanting to spend time with will.

Brooke: I think our old Katie's coming back.

Bill: Slowly, but... before you know it, she'll be tackling the job of mom like there's nothing to it.

Eric: You want me to fire up the jet?

Eric: How else are you gonna hand-deliver that one? You know, I have to admit, I cannot imagine a party like this without sally spectra.

Stephanie: Yeah, especially one like this. (Sighs) she was such an important part of our lives...

Eric: Yeah.

Stephanie: My life.

Eric: Sally and her whole spectra crew.

Stephanie: I just realize...

Stephanie: You're sally spectra.

Sally: Yes, I am.

Eric: Yeah.

Stephanie: All these years I wanted to just shoot her. (Sighs) then we end up best friends and then she just takes off and travels around the world.

Bill: Hey. Is he asleep?

Katie: Yeah.

Brooke: We're both happy you wanted to be the one to put him down.

Bill: It's really encouraging, Katie. And the more time you spend with him, the easier it'll get.

Katie: Yeah, I imagine that's true.

Brooke: Do you need help finding something?

Katie: No.

Bill: Do you have another doctor's appointment? I don't remember anything scheduled.

Stephanie: Hello? Uh, sally?

Fabio: Oh, definitely next is on the agenda.

Stephanie: (Chuckles) Couldn't do it.

Eric: I understand.

Katie: I'm leaving.

Brooke: Let's just sit down and talk about this.

Katie: No, no, no, I-- it--it's not up for debate. I'm not changing my mind.

Bill: H-hold it. Hold it. Do--what--what do you mean, you're--you're leaving? Wa, our marriage? Our baby?

Katie: Getting pregnant was a huge mistake. I-I'm a horrible mother.

Katie: This isn't what I wanted.

Katie: (Groans)

Bill: You're not going anywhere.

Katie: (Breathing heavily)

Stephanie: You were right. I-I-I'm glad I called. It's--it's lovely to know how happy she is.

Eric: Even better... realizing how well the two of you relate to each other. I mean, who would have thought?

Stephanie: Oh god. (Chuckles) Those early years. (Sighs) I have nothing but contempt and pity for you.

Sally: Contempt? Pity? I'll show you contempt, you... (screams)

Stephanie: (Gasps)

Stephanie: (Laughs) oh, my god. (Laughs)

Sally: (Screams)

Stephanie: (Laughing) sally, there's an oil slick from your hairspray. (Laughs)

Sally: I did not come all this way to lose the game to you that easily.

Sally: (Screams)

Eric: How the hell did you two ever become friends?

Stephanie: I have no idea.

Eric: (Chuckles)

Bill: Okay, got you, Katie. You just need to calm down. I'm--I'm not letting you go.

Brooke: Katie, you can't do this. You need to stop and think.

Katie: Oh, god. I have thought about this. I can't think about anything else. I know exactly what I'm doing.

Bill: What--what, walking out on me and our son?

Brooke: What's the matter with you? Don't you care?

Katie: Of course, I care. That's why I'm doing this. I have to do this for will. He'll--he's young. He won't know.

Bill: Katie, he'll know.

Katie: He'll--he'll have all the love that he needs from you and--and from--from the other members of the family and-- and Brooke--Brooke, I need you. I need you more than anything else. You'll look after my boy, won't you? You and donna and-- and hope and Bridget. And Bill, I promise, he won't miss me. Promise.

Brooke: Katie, you are not making any sense.

Katie: This will be good for you, too. It will. It'll help you heal, because you can step in for me, because you're good with babies. You are. You have that instinct. And--and--and I don't, and you--you can look after bill, too. You can help him.

Brooke: Honey, you're the one who needs some help right now.

Bill: You're damn right she is. I'm calling Taylor.

Katie: No, no. Please! I am incapable of being his mother. I'm sorry, but I can't do it. (Crying) I can't be his mother.

Bill: Katie, you have no choice.

Katie: I know I have no choice. I know. (Sobbing) that's why I have to do this, why I have to go.

Bill: No, no, Katie. I'm not letting you go.

Katie: (Breathing heavily)

Bill: Katie! Katie!

Brooke: I'll-I'll get her. You call Taylor. Katie! Katie!

Dr. Meade: I understand your concern. But realistically, what can Katie do? She's still that boy's mother, whether or not she chooses to go through life thinking every day is her last.

Taylor: Well, I don't know what she has planned. All I know is her mind is someplace very dark, and I-I've been trying to do everything that I can to steer her out of it.

(Cell phone rings)

Taylor: Hold on. Let me turn that off.

(rings)

Taylor: Oh, it's bill Spencer.

Dr. Meade: Go ahead, take it.

Taylor: Hello.

Bill: Taylor, you have to get over here right away.

Taylor: What's going on?

Bill: Katie--she--she-- she's completely lost it. She said she's leaving me, our son. You have to get here right now.

Taylor: I'll be right there.

Katie: (Breathing heavily)

Brooke: Katie? Katie? (Sighs) open the door. Please, open the door. What are you doing in there? Katie, I'm begging you, just open the door. I want to talk to you.

(knocking on door)

Brooke: Katie, please open the door. What are you doing in there? Just, uh, open the door, and we can talk. Is the baby okay? What are you doing here?

(Knock on door)

Katie: (Crying)

Brooke: Katie?

(Knock on door)

Katie: Mommy loves you. Mommy loves you. (Sobbing)

(knock on door)

Brooke: Katie, come on.

Eric: So was it the haircut that turned things around for you and sally.

Stephanie: Uh, yeah. Well... yeah. That might have been it.

Eric: The two of you drinking together? (Chuckles) you know, Irish whiskey and scissors has never been a good mix.

Stephanie: Ohh.

Sally: Every good hairdresser will tell you that it is best to cut hair when it's wet.

Stephanie: Everybody knows that. You know, you might have a flare for this. (Chuckles)

Sally: You know, actually, I think I do. I think I do. And it's a good thing, too, because if the rack trade dries up and I can't get a gig there, I figure I could always get work as a, uh, you know, mortician.

Stephanie: (Chuckles) A mortician. Good. Sally... (chuckles) sally, why don't you come to work for us?

Sally: Ha!

Stephanie: (Chuckles)

Sally: Oh, that's a laugh. In order for me to come to work for you, I will make certain demands, okay? I want my own personal secretary, a man...

Stephanie: Okay.

Sally: A big office.

Stephanie: You bet.

Sally: Yeah.

Stephanie: Done.

Sally: So I'm here. (Sighs) Eric Forrester, eat your heart out. "Sally scissorhands" has created magic.

Stephanie: Oh.

Sally: Voila.

Stephanie: (Sighs) you know, it looks a little hip-hop, don't you think? That might have been the bonding moment.

Eric: (Chuckles)

Smile though your heart is aching smile even though it's breaking when there are clouds in the sky you'll get by if you smile through your fear and sorrow smile and maybe tomorrow you'll see the sun come shining through just smile smile smile

Stephanie: It would have been nice to see her.

Eric: Hmm.

Stephanie: But the memories are enough.

Eric: Yeah. So what'll I do with this invitation?

Stephanie: Oh, I'll keep it. Keep it.

Eric: What is this?

Stephanie: Yours.

Eric: Mine?

Stephanie: Well, of course.

Eric: I didn't realize I was gonna get an invitation to this party.

Stephanie: (Chuckles) of course, you are. The party was your idea.

Eric: Yeah.

Stephanie: And although I'm very happy to-- well, I'm pleased to do this party 'cause you want to do it, and it gives me a chance to see everybody, and we'll learn to carry on. But as far as I'm concerned, you are the only cabana boy that needs to be at that party.

Eric: I know just what to wear.

Stephanie: (Chuckles)

Eric: (Chuckles) (sighs) Oh, God.

Brooke: Katie!

Bill: What's going on?

Brooke: Oh, bill, she locked the door. I can't get in.

Bill: Let me see. Let me see. Katie! Katie, open up!

Will: (Crying)

Brooke: The baby's fine

Bill: (Echoing) Katie?!

Katie: (Breathing heavily)

Bill: Katie?
