Caroline: (Sighs) Just have the delivery guy put them in my office. I know. It's starting to look like a florist shop in there. (Chuckles) I'll handle it. Thank you. Okay.

Rick: Is Prince Charming still sending "I'm sorry, I want you back" bouquets?

Caroline: He promised that he would stop. I really hope that this is the last one.

Rick: He just can't believe that you dumped Forrester's new interim CEO for a second-stringer like me. Although, a sexy, exciting second-stringer.

Caroline: You are not a second-stringer. You're very important to the future of this company.

Rick: And yours... I hope.

Eric: You had no idea way she wanted to see you?

Brooke: (Sighs) I thought it was about Ridge. But when I read that invitation...

Eric: Yeah.

Brooke: "A party to celebrate my wife."

Eric: She's only spoken to you and Pam so far. (Sighs) And she's, um, she's on her way to see Thorne now. That's gonna be the worst-- telling the children. (Inhales) Mm.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Stephanie: Ohh.

Thorne: (Chuckles) My old merit badges?

Stephanie: Yeah. Hi, sweetie.

Thorne: What? Are you finally getting rid of the last of my things?

Stephanie: (Chuckles) No, not really.

Thorne: (Chuckles)

Stephanie: No, no, no, no. Just, you know...

Thorne: What is this?

Stephanie: Oh... (Sighs) It's for you. Read it, please. (Sighs)

Thorne: "My sweet son..." (Sighs)

(Papers hitting floor)

Caroline: What was that?

Rick: (Clears throat) More grunt work from you know who.

Caroline: I really wish he would stop doing that.

Rick: Yeah, well, Thomas is top dog now, thanks to Ridge, but he's way out of his league.

Caroline: Well, I'm glad that he asked your dad for help.

Rick: Only, when my dad gives it, Thomas doesn't listen. Who would be that arrogant, not to take advice from a man who is so revered in the fashion industry?

Caroline: And his son is pretty great, too.

Rick: Well...

Brooke: (Sighs) A party to celebrate Stephanie's life. (Sighs) Only you would think of something like that.

Eric: (Chuckles) Yeah, well... she's humoring me, of course, but no one's life deserves to be celebrated more than hers, by all the people who love her and cherish her, her children most of all. (Sighs) It's her proudest achievement, you know? Her children. Ridge, Felicia, and Kristen... and Thorne, the son who always felt second to the firstborn... in spite of how much his mother's always loved him.

Thorne: (Sniffles)

Stephanie: (Sighs) Sweetheart...

Thorne: (Sniffles)

Stephanie: I'm at peace with this.

Thorne: I'll never be at peace with this. You are my mother. Damn it, there's gotta be something more that we can do.

Stephanie: There is, but I'm not gonna do it. I'm not gonna do it, Thorne. I've had a great run. I-I-I've had a great life. I only have one regret, really. And it's that you never believed that you were just as important to me as Ridge was and that I loved you just as much as I loved Ridge. You just had such a hard time accepting that. Jeez, I hope you've accepted it now.

Thorne: (Sniffles)

Caroline: You know, beneath his bravado, I think that Thomas is just really hurting.

Rick: He pushed me out a window, and he's hurting? Hmm.

Caroline: I'm just glad you're okay.

Rick: Well, thank you. Mm. Well, at least my swan dive out the window, courtesy of Prince Charming, helped to get you and me back together. Hey, remind me to thank his royal majesty... or not.

Caroline: I should get back to work.

Rick: Right.

Caroline: Mm.

Rick: I've got some things I have to run by my dad. That is if Thomas hasn't run him off, too.

Caroline: (Chuckles)

Eric: Well, I'm sure you didn't expect to come home from your honeymoon to this.

Brooke: I never expected my honeymoon to end this way.

Eric: (Sighs) It's only temporary. Ridge will come back. You'll see. Brooke, he's gonna need you. He's gonna need you now, more than ever.

Brooke: He will be here for Stephanie's party, won't he?

Eric: He's always been here for his mother. All the children have, especially Thorne.

Thorne: Oh, my God. You really let me wear a powder-blue leisure suit to my high school prom?

Stephanie: (Laughs) Your father almost had a stroke.

Thorne: (Chuckles) Yeah, I bet. Wow.

Stephanie: But I thought, what the hell? You gotta learn to make these decisions on your own.

Thorne: (Chuckles)

Stephanie: (Chuckles) (Sighs) Of course, I almost did have a stroke when I found out you were fooling around with Brooke.

Thorne: (Chuckles)

Stephanie: Oh, boy.

[Stephanie remembering]

Brooke: Thorne, what is going on here?

Stephanie: You're a threat to everything that I love and cherish. All my life, I've tried to protect family from things that are corrupt and evil in this world. I had to teach my children about morality and ethics and self-respect. And this, my baby--my baby, he was the one that understood better than anyone what honor was, what the foundation of this family was built on. If you let her-- if you let her drag those values out of you, if you let her drag you in that bed, it's all erased, and then you become what she is, self-serving and soulless. Jesus, is that what you want?

Brooke: Don't, Stephanie. Don't. You can't tell him what he wants. He knows what he wants. He wants me, as much as I want him!

Stephanie: Well, he's not going to have... he...

Thorne: Thank God you didn't. (Chuckles)

Stephanie: (Chuckles) Well, I lived to fight another day. Boy, it just... (Sighs) Shows you ... how wrong you can be about a person.

Rick: Dad's with Mom. Something's going on.

Caroline: Something to do with Thomas?

Rick: Look... I know how important honesty is to you. And that's what I want for us-- total honesty. And I haven't been.

Caroline: You haven't been what?

Rick: (Sighs) I did something. I created a lie that I'm not proud, a lie that changed everything for your cousin Liam and my sister.

Brooke: Is there anything I can do for you or for Stephanie?

Eric: No, Brooke. Oh. Not now. Maybe later. I mean, maybe when I start to pull the party together. I'll call you.

Thomas: Granddad, just the man I wanted to see. Brooke, do you mind? I have some ideas I want to run by the old guy.

Eric: What do you have in mind?

Thomas: It's a new vision for Forrester, something I've been mulling around for a while. But now that I'm CEO--

Brooke: Interim CEO.

Thomas: I would like to make sure these changes are implemented. The sooner the better. Okay, check it out. I'm thinking we can go in a sexier, younger, edgier, more urban directional something that really reflects what's going on in today's society. Plus, a more affordable price point. See what I mean?

Eric: What--I--

Thomas: This is exactly where you'd be headed with Forrester if you were my age.

(Cell phone rings)

Brooke: Oh, Thomas.

(Rings)

Brooke: Don't you think you should slow down a bit?

Thomas: Talk to me. I'm on my way.

Eric: Uh... (Chuckles) Well, what do you make of that?

Brooke: (Sighs) A man on the move? His love life has been on the skids lately, so maybe he's overcompensating, throwing himself into his work.

Eric: Well, I recall a time or two when, um, the same thing happened to me. But then Stephanie would come and grab me by the collar and drag me home, and that was that.

Brooke: (Laughs)

Eric: (Chuckles) Oh, my goodness.

[Thorne remembering]

Stephanie: You waited a long time for that.

Eric: You think you've been taken for granted.

Thorne: That surprises you? I've played second fiddle my whole life. Ridge isn't here now, and I've got a lot more to offer this company than just my team spirit. You've made your decision.

Eric: Yes, I have.

Thorne: (Sighs) What's that?

Eric: The future of Forrester Creations. Congratulations, Mr. President.

[Back to present]

Thorne: It was nice while it lasted.

Stephanie: Does it still hurt after all these years?

Thorne: No, Mother, it doesn't... because it's not how it is now or probably ever was. (Sniffles) But, hey, I'll keep it handy. (Chuckles)

Stephanie: (Chuckles) Okay. Okay.

Thorne: Or maybe I will, uh, melt it down and make a paperweight for Ridge for Christmas.

Stephanie: (Chuckles) Honey.

Thorne: (Chuckles) What else do we have? (Chuckles) Report cards. Straight "A's."

Rick: I realize there's a lot at risk by opening up about this. But I'm asking you to try and understand why I felt it was so important to protect Hope. (Sighs) As her big brother, I couldn't just stand by and watch her get hurt again.

Caroline: By Liam?

Rick: The night before the wedding, Liam and Steffy were just partying at some club. Hope ended it because she thought that they were making out.

Caroline: Making out? Liam, Steffy didn't--okay, maybe they had a little bit too much fun, but they--they definitely didn't do anything--

Rick: You're right. They weren't making out. But that's what I told Hope.

Caroline: You told her that?

Rick: I didn't want my kid sister marrying Liam. H's already messed with her so many times. So... (Sighs) I took more drastic measures.

Caroline: That's what ended it all, your lie.

Rick: And now that I've come clean with this, is this gonna ruin it for us?

Caroline: I guess I can't say that I'm surprised. An, I've been told that you're a very manipulative man.

Rick: (Sighs)

Caroline: But I get why you did it.

Rick: I wanted to protect her.

Caroline: I understand.

Rick: (Sighs) Thank you.

Caroline: That does not mean that I condone it, though, because lies always come back to haunt you.

Rick: Are you gonna tell Liam or Hope?

Caroline: I'm gonna leave that up to your conscious. But I have a feeling that you're gonna make it right, because that's the kind of man that I think you are.

Stephanie: I'm sorry it's taken so long for us to get where we are finally now. You are everything-- everything your father and I could ever want in a son. And I'm just-- I'm so sorry that you just never knew that.

Thorne: (Chuckles) That was a turning point for us.

Stephanie: Yes. Yes, it was.

Thorne: Not that we've agreed on everything since. (Chuckles)

Stephanie: (Chuckles) Well, when does anyone in any family ever agree on everything at the same time?

Thorne: (Chuckles) Yeah. I guess we're not so different than all the other families out there, huh? All of the mothers and sons.

Stephanie: (Sighs) I look at you now, and I see what a wonderful man you've turned into. And I'm so proud of you. You'll be fine, you know?

Thorne: (Chuckles) Got that on good authority, huh?

Stephanie: (Chuckles) Absolutely.

Thorne: (Chuckles)

Stephanie: (Sighs, chuckles) What possibly could go wrong? Brooke's married every man in the family.

Thorne: (Chuckles)

Stephanie: The worst is behind us.

Thorne: I still don't know how I'm going to carry on without you, Mom. I've always relied on... (Sighs) Your support and... my God, your strength.

Stephanie: I won't be very far away. I love you, Baby Boy. I love you so much.

Thorne: (Sniffles)

Stephanie: I love you.

Thorne: (Crying) I know. I know. (Sighs)
