Katie: Brooke, Brooke, just calm down. Just take a deep breath, okay? Breathe, all right? Deep breaths. That's right, Honey. Just breathe, okay? You're okay. You're okay.

Caroline: Rick, are you okay? I'm coming down.

Donna: I heard something in there.

Pam: Caroline and Thomas are accounted for.

Donna: (Gasps)

Both: Rick! Pam!

Stephanie: (Sighs)

Eric: I'm not okay with this.

Stephanie: What is it that you don't understand?

Eric: Thomas is not qualified to run this company.

Stephanie: (Sighs) Well, I suppose the same thing could have been said about the two of us when we decided to start the company.

Eric: It should have been Rick. He was the proper choice. (Sighs) I don't know. Maybe I made a big mistake letting Ridge make this decision.

Caroline: Rick, are you okay?

Rick: (Groans)

Thomas: Hey, hey, hey! Don't move him! Let me get him.

Caroline: No, just let me, Thomas.

Thomas: No, come on. Really?

Caroline: No, I think that you've done enough, don't you?

Rick: It's fine.

Caroline: No. I don't even know if you should move. What if you have a head injury?

Rick: The only thing that's injured is my pride.

Caroline: Oh, my God. I'm calling 9-1-1.

Rick: No, no, I'm okay. I'm okay. Thank you.

Caroline: You have a concussion.

Rick: No, I didn't hit my head. The bush broke my fall.

Caroline: Are you sure?

Rick: Yeah. But I'm loving this concern.

Caroline: Are you seriously hitting on me right now?

Rick: (Chuckles)

Caroline: Oh, my God. Okay, you're fine. Come on. Hang onto me, all right? Okay.

Rick: (Groans)

Katie: All right, all right, take deep breaths. Deep breaths, all right?

Brooke: Okay. (Sighs)

Katie: All right. That's better. That's better. Are you okay

Brooke: Yeah. Much better.

Katie: Okay. Please, please tell me what's going on. Did something happen between you and Ridge?

Stephanie: Are you going to change Ridge's decision?

Eric: I might.

Stephanie: Honey, Tom might surprise you.

Eric: Maybe.

Stephanie: He's a very capable young man.

Eric: He's a good designer.

Stephanie: Like you and like his father.

Eric: His father has good business instincts. Have you ever seen anything like that in Thomas?

Stephanie: Honey, he might be able to pull that off if you'd just give him a chance.

Eric: Rick is ready to be C.E.O.  With Thomas, it's just gonna take on-the-job training, days and days in a row.

Pam: Eric! Steph!

Donna: Thomas and Rick got into it.

Pam: Thomas just threw Rick out a window.

Stephanie: Oh, my God, is he all right? Come on, Eric.

Pam: No!

Eric: What? Get Marcus to come with me.

Katie: Okay, just sit down and... okay. Better?

Brooke: I'm sorry. This is ridiculous. I mean, you should be taking care of yourself and your baby, not me. (Sighs)

Katie: Honey. (Sighs) You are obviously so upset about something. I wish-- I wish you would tell me what it is. I-I want to help.

Brooke: (Sighs) You can't, Katie. Nobody can help. Just Ridge, and he's...

Katie: What?

Brooke: (Scoffs) He's gone. (Sighs)

Katie: Please tell me what happened.

Brooke: (Sniffles) I-I don't know. I-I really don't, and now I'm trying to figure that out. I mean, I-- we were having a great time, and we were on our honeymoon, and it was so romantic and so wonderful, and... I really don't know where it all went wrong.

Katie: You had a fight?

Brooke: Ridge was very, very upset.

Katie: Why?

Brooke: (Sighs) I don't--I don't know. I just-- (Clears throat) (Scoffs) I don't really understand it at all. I just-- we were more in love than ever and having the best time, and... (Sighs) Then everything changed.

Katie: Honey, I really wish you would tell me what happened. What did Ridge do?

Brooke: (Sighs)

Eric: Rick, are you okay, Son?

Rick: No, no. I'm--I'm fine.

Thomas: He's fine.

Caroline: Only because that bush broke his fall.

Stephanie: Did you throw him out the window?

Thomas: It wasn't like that.

Rick: The hell it wasn't.

Stephanie: (Coughs)

Thomas: Okay, it was an accident. Look, we were arguing, and-- and things got a little heated.

Caroline: A little?

Rick: Yeah, I'd hate to see how you act when you get really mad.

Eric: You were arguing about what?

Rick: Well, "Prince Charming" here started feeling his new power throwing around his title, ordering me to stay away from Caroline and demanding respect.

Eric: Are you gonna run Forrester like this?

Thomas: Grandpa, he pressed all my buttons, and, yes, I lost my temper, but I didn't throw him out the window.

Stephanie: (Coughs)

Eric: You don't manage employees by shoving them around.

Rick: Stephanie, are you all right?

Stephanie: I'm fine. I'm just winded from running down here. I didn't fall out a window, thank God. (Coughs)

Rick: I was pushed.

Thomas: Seriously, it was an accident. I'm just glad you're okay.

Rick: I'm sure you are.

Thomas: I was serious earlier, Rick. I'm C.E.O. of this company, and you need to respect that.

Eric: All right, stop it, both of you.

Thomas: What?

Eric: I'm gonna let Ridge's decision stand for now, but I see any more examples of this kind of leadership, and I step in. I take over. Don't think I won't.

Rick: Thank you. (Sighs)

Caroline: (Sighs)

Thomas: well, I guess I should apologize.

Caroline: You think?

Rick: Don't strain yourself. I was trying to push my sister on to you. Liam might be a jerk, but you, my man, you get a little power, and it goes right to your head.

Caroline: You attacked Rick out of nowhere. Getting all up in his face and pushing him- what if he would have fallen on his head, Thomas? You could have killed him!

Thomas: Caroline, I didn't mean for him to go flying out the window.

Caroline: Well, then you shouldn't have pushed him that hard.

Rick: Not very "Prince Charming" was I?

Thomas: Real good. Throw a little fuel on the fire.

Caroline: You know what, Thomas? Stop it.

Thomas: No, Caroline, he's been taking advantage of you, tying to insinuate himself into your life by driving a wedge between us.

Caroline: No, you did that. Maybe I just got caught up in the fantasy, you know, 'cause you're so much like Ridge and everyone says that I'm so much like my Aunt Caroline. And I've heard so many stories of this great love affair of theirs, maybe I just got swept away in the idea of recreating it.

Thomas: We are more than a rehash of someone else's love story.

Caroline: Then you should have thought about that before you started spending all of your time with Hope. And now this? What, you get a little title, a little power in you, and you get violent?

Thomas: (Scoffs)

Caroline: That's not the man I want to be with.

Thomas: I'm sorry, okay? I lost control, and I made a mistake.

Caroline: So did I. This isn't gonna work between us, Thomas.

Thomas: Caroline, please.

Caroline: Can you just stop?

Thomas: (Scoffs) Let me at least try to change your mind. Please?

Caroline: Don't waste your time.

Rick: You heard Caroline. Go back to your big C.E.O. office and be important.

Thomas: (Scoffs)

Eric: Oh, my God, look at this. We've got a new C.E.O. in this office, don't we?

Stephanie: Mm-mm.

Eric: Better have this repaired before the press sees it. There'll be a million questions.

Stephanie: I think it's safe to say Tom didn't get off to a resounding start.

Eric: (Sighs) (Chuckles) No. No, Ridge wanted to do something nice.

Stephanie: (Coughs)

Eric: And I understand that. Why did he wait to appoint an interim C.E.O. anyway? Brooke's here. Why isn't he?

Stephanie: He called me. He's not coming back for a while.

Brooke: It's not his fault, Katie.

Katie: Just tell me what happened.

Brooke: (Sighs) Deacon.

Katie: This is about Deacon?

Brooke: I'm afraid so.

Katie: But I... I know that you can't stand him.

Brooke: Even more so now. If he had only just stayed out of our lives. (Sighs) He has caused so many problems for our family. (Sighs)

Katie: Have you been talking to him?

Brooke: Texting. He as this misguided perception that Hope needs him.

Katie: Yeah, well unfortunately, I think Hope agrees with him.

Brooke: Yeah, I know. And it’s wrong. It's so wrong. That’s why I've been texting him. I've been begging him to stay away from Hope.

Katie: I-I don't understand. How does this have anything to do with you and Ridge?

Brooke: (Sighs) Oh, God. I feel like such a fool. (Sighs)

Katie: What did you do?

Brooke: Ridge was wondering if I had any contact at all with Deacon. I mean, don't even know why he was bringing that up, because he knows how much I hate him. So he asked me if I'd been contacting him, and I said, "No, of course not." Right away, he knew I was lying, because he saw the texts between me and Deacon. And that's what started all of this.

Katie: Why did you lie?

Brooke: I don't know, Katie. I don't know. I was having a great time on my honeymoon. And I just wanted to spend time with my husband and enjoy, and I didn't want to think about Deacon. I didn't want to talk about him. I didn't want to... (Sighs) Have a discussion with Ridge about him I just wanted to enjoy what we had and... (Sighs) Ridge freaked out. I mean, he's just freaked out. And all he cared about was that I-I lied. And that's what led us to this. (Sighs)

Katie: To what?

Brooke: (Sighs) To the end of our relationship.

Katie: You don't mean that.

Brooke: Yes, I do. I do, Katie. Ridge was furious. And he said he couldn't believe that I would do this to him again. All those times that I promised that I would never lie to him, and I did. So he left.

Katie: Where did he go?

Brooke: He went to see our son R.J. at boarding school. So that's a good thing, right?

Katie: Listen, he's... (Sighs) He's gonna come back. He's gonna remember what you two have, and he's gonna come home.

Brooke: No, no, I don't think so.

Katie: He has to. He's your husband.

Brooke: Actually... (Scoffs) Officially he's not. We were gonna take care of the paperwork when we got home. And now he's gone. And I don't know... (Sighs) I don't know when or if I'll ever see him again.

Katie: Oh, Honey. (Sighs)

Caroline: Are you sure you don't need a doctor?

Rick: Yeah, I'm fine, except for the fact that Ridge lost his mind and appointed Thomas C.E.O. (Scoffs) You know, it--it-- it would go down a lot easier if he had any experience and could compete with me on any level. (Scoffs) Maybe I should just think about moving on.

Caroline: From Forrester? But it's your legacy.

Rick: (Sighs) Yeah, tell that to Ridge.

Caroline: This is just a temporary setback. That's all.

Rick: I don't know. I'm starting to feel like I'm spinning my wheels. My father-- he founded this company. Who should succeed him as C.E.O.? Ridge, a Marone. Now he's gonna pass the torch to his idiot son? Oh, my God, I-can't believe I work for Thomas. The guy needs a map to find the conference room. I walked the walk. I've studied in Europe. I studied every aspect that I needed to know about this business. I opened retail shops. I made this company money, lots of money. Thomas, he draws a few pictures, and he gets the crown? Gee, it must be nice to lead a charmed life. (Scoffs) Why work when your dad hands you everything you haven't earned?

Caroline: You wouldn't really leave, would you?

Rick: It's tempting. But that would just make it too easy for Thomas. Forrester is my family legacy, too.

Caroline: Yes. See? I want to hear that.

Rick: I didn't plan this. I didn't see it coming. But, it just means it’s a temporary adjustment of some timetables, that's all. Nothing changes. Me as C.E.O., and you by my side-- are you with me?

Caroline: I like the sound of that.

Rick: Well, then I've got this.

Stephanie: Ridge and Brooke are having problems.

Eric: Problems? What went wrong?

Stephanie: Deacon Sharpe.

Eric: What?!

Stephanie: She was texting him. Ridge found out, confronted her, and she lied to him.

Eric: Oh, my God. Why the hell would she have anything to do with that guy?

Stephanie: Well, that's what Ridge wanted to know.

Eric: Well?

Stephanie: Honey, I don't know. I'm sure it's perfectly innocuous. But she lied, and it pushed all kinds of buttons.

Eric: He'll forgive her. He's forgiven her time and time again.

Stephanie: She promised him no more lies.

Eric: They were on their honeymoon.

Stephanie: Honey, you-- you know Ridge. He's easygoing. He doesn't like confrontation, especially with her, but he's angry. He's disillusioned, and you can only sit on those kinds of feelings for just so long.

Eric: You're talking like you think it's over.

Stephanie: Brooke has always been very resourceful when it comes to Ridge, right? So I certainly wouldn't count her out. But from the way he sounded... I think he's finished.

Brooke: (Sighs) Hi. Um, it's me. I'm just calling to tell you that I am home now, and I'm alone in this very big house. I'm kind of wondering what went wrong. And I'm... con--I'm confused, and I'm hurt, and... (Sighs) I mean, Ridge, you've gotta know that when I mentioned Deacon, it was just such a hot button that I-I-I didn't want to talk about it. That's why I lied. And I'm sorry. (Sighs) I'm sorry. I'm sure that you'll be able to forgive me. I just wanted to enjoy our time together. I just want you to know how much I truly love you, because I do, and I know that... (Sighs) I mean, we're gonna get through this, right? This is ridiculous. We've gotten through worse, and... (Sighs) Anyway, I-I'm sure everything will be fine. Ridge? Are you there? Are you listening? (Sighs)

(Cell phone crashes)

Brooke: Damn it. (Sighs) (Sighs) (Sniffles) (Sighs)
