Bill: Hey. Hey, can I get you something?

Katie: N--uh, no. No, thank you.

Bill: Come on, how-- how about a sandwich?

Katie: (Sighs) I'm not hungry.

Bill: Katie, you have to keep your strength up.

Katie: Honestly, Bill, the thought of food right now makes me want to throw up.

Bill: You have to let me do something for you, Katie.

Katie: Okay. You can respect me. You can stop interfering in my niece's love life. And you can stop jeopardizing our happiness. You know what? It doesn't even matter, because once Donna tells Liam and Hope that you were responsible for Deacon being in Italy, it--it won't matter. (Door opens)

Katie: Hey. Did you tell Liam what happened?

Donna: Nope.

Katie: Why not? I thought we agreed that they should know.

Donna: Because I didn't find Liam with Hope. I found him with Steffy. And you want to guess what they were doing?

Katie: (Sighs)

Caroline: You wanted to see me?

Rick: Always. Especially now.

Caroline: Why now?

Rick: I hope you like surprises.

Caroline: Depends. You're not gonna have, like, a singing gorilla jump out at me or something? (Laughs)

Rick: (Chuckles) No, but I'll make a note for next time.

Caroline: What are you up to now?

Rick: You need to take a seat right here.

Caroline: Okay.

Rick: Prepare to be dazzled.

Caroline: Dazzled?

Rick: Mmm-hmm. (Clears throat)

Caroline: Okay.

Rick: Send them in.

(Upbeat music playing)

Caroline: Oh, my god. Those are mine.

Rick: Pretty hot, huh?

Caroline: Those are my designs.

Rick: So what do you think?

Caroline: They're fabulous. But how? Ridge didn't approve them for production.

Rick: Ridge isn't here. I green-lighted them.

Caroline: Wow.

Rick: Your designs shouldn't be sitting on some queue waiting for Ridge to get around to them. You're a talent. They should be out there, and personally, I want to make that happen for you.

Caroline: Incredible. Thank you.

Rick: Well, I'm not completely selfless.

Caroline: (Chuckles)

Rick: Look, it's gonna reflect well on me. I'll get the credit for discovering you, a visionary who saw what everybody else at Forrester missed. Hey, ladies, can you do another twirl for me? Isn't it beautiful how the dress flows with her movement? I mean, it's--it's graceful, yet elegant and sexy and flirty. I'd follow that dress anywhere.

Caroline: I want to change the hemline.

Rick: Well, we'll speak to alterations. They'll take care of it.

Caroline: Yeah.

Rick: Thank you, ladies. So... better than a singing gorilla?

Caroline: Oh, so much. Thank you so much, Rick, for believing in me.

Katie: You saw Liam and Steffy?

Donna: Down at the cabin, going at it big time.

Katie: Could you have been mistaken about--

Donna: No, Katie, I--no.

Bill: All right, listen, I-I'm--I'm telling you both, Liam may love Hope, but he is in love with Steffy, and that's why he keeps going back to her.

Katie: He keeps going back to her because of your constant interference.

Donna: (Chuckles) If they had a fair shot, then they would be married and happy, but they never had a fair shot, did they, because of you, Bill.

Bill: All right, look, I may have overstepped a few times, but I supported Liam's marriage to Hope. No manipulating, no lying. I welcomed her into the family, and I meant it. But what happens? We go right back to square one. As soon as she hits a little bump in the road, pack the bags and out the door. Now what kind of father is going to support that behavior?

Katie: You unleashed Deacon Sharpe on this family. You know what kind of problems he's caused for us in the past. I mean, can you imagine the kind of trouble he could cause for Brooke and Hope?

Bill: We had a deal. He was never supposed to show his face here gain.

Katie: (Scoffs)

Donna: Oh, well--well, that really worked out well, didn't it?

Katie: You had no right to do what you did. Liam is a grown man.

Bill: You and I are never going to see eye to eye on this. And I don't want to upset you, but Liam is my son, and I had every right.

Katie: That's always your rationale--"he's my son." Well, our son is your son, too, and I will never let you manipulate him. I hate the idea that I might have to protect him from his own father, but make no mistake, Bill, if push comes to shove, that is exactly what I will do.

Rick: Oliver needed a final say on a shot for Hope for the Future.

Caroline: No, it's no problem. It gave me a chance to think. You know, you're making a push to launch my line for production without Ridge being here to approve it. I mean, are you sure that it's okay that you go over his head?

Rick: Mmm. Gorgeous and intuitive. (Chuckles) I'm not supposed to say anything, so this has to stay between us.

Caroline: Okay.

Bick: Ridge is gonna announce the interim CEO tomorrow.

Caroline: Wouldn't that be Eric?

Rick: He doesn't want it. My dad's enjoying his life now.

Caroline: So it's you?

Rick: Well, I'm the only one with experience. I have the head for it.

Caroline: Has it been decided?

Rick: I'm the logical choice.

Caroline: That would be so wonderful.

Rick: For both of us.

Caroline: You know, you keep saying that. But I'm not really sure how I fit into all of that.

Rick: My dad founded this company because he had an eye for fashion and a talent for design. O course, he had Stephanie standing beside him. Now Ridge, he had the goods. He worked his way up. He had my mom standing beside him. You see, Caroline, that's where you fit in. I want to run this company, and I want you standing by my side. Look, it's gonna happen. I can feel it. And the only thing that we have to do is just be ready.

Bill: Katie, I've done some things I'm not proud of, arranging Deacon's release being at the top of the list. I mean, if I could take it all back... I don't know, maybe I would, if I stop to think about the potential for hurting you.

Katie: See, that-- that's the problem is that you--you-- you don't consider that. You--it's just about the end game. You don't ever think about the collateral damage or who gets hurt.

Donna: What has Hope ever done to you to make you dislike her so much that you would just throw Deacon at her like this and--and mess with her head?

Bill: I have no animosity toward Hope. I think she is a lovely young girl who will make some guy very happy one day, just not my son. And what you saw between Liam and Steffy proves that I'm right. And I don't know why either one of you would want your niece to be with a man who is so clearly in love with somebody else.

Donna: (Scoffs) Katie, he--he has a point. Maybe Liam should be with Steffy. But it doesn't excuse the crappy things you did.

Bill: Understood.

Donna: You know, frankly, I think Hope is too young to be married to anyone, especially a man who can't fully commit.

Katie: (Sighs)

Donna: (Sighs) I spoke to her.

Katie: When?

Donna: At Brooke's, after I saw Liam and Steffy.

Katie: Did you tell her?

Donna: No, I-I was tempted, but then thought why? I mean, Liam and--and Hope are over. He's with Steffy now. So maybe that's just the way it--it's supposed to be.

Katie: Well, that's the way Bill wants it.

Bill: If Liam and Hope were meant to be, nothing I did would have stopped that.

Donna: Look, um, you know, I finally spoke to Brooke, and she's coming back tomorrow. Given the circumstances, I don't think we should tell her that Bill sent Deacon to Italy.

Katie: (Sighs) I don't like keeping things from her.

Donna: Look, I don't either, Katie, but why--why are we gonna upset hr like this? Why can't we just let it be?

Will: (Crying)

Bill: I'll go.

Katie: No, I-I-I want to.

Bill: Katie... I love you.

Katie: I have to see about the baby.

Will: (Crying) 

Rick: That's right, we're putting it on the front burner. So get it to me pronto. I want to make a move on this. What?

Caroline: You're so comfortable with yourself. You know, even when you were parading around in those heels, you were just so at ease.

Rick: (Chuckles)

Caroline: You know, I guess that's what made amber's little lie so believable.

Rick: (Groans) yeah, when Hope showed me those photo-shopped pictures of me in a dress, I... (groans)

Caroline: (Laughs) it takes a unique mind to come up with that scheme.

Rick: Yeah, well, that's-- that's amber.

Caroline: (Giggles)

Rick: You know, now that I think about it, it's--you know, it's pretty funny.

Caroline: When I walked in on you and saw you strutting on the runway--

Rick: I know, I know. It must have looked really bizarre to you. I mean, the--the model, she couldn't walk. I was just trying to teach her how.

Caroline: Most men wouldn't even know how.

Rick: Yeah, well, most men haven't been around models their entire lives.

Caroline: A world that you love.

Rick: Even more once my name is on that door.

Caroline: Eric Forrester, Jr. CEO.

Rick: It's got a nice ring to it.

Caroline: It does.

Rick: (Chuckles) yeah.

Caroline: You know, you're gonna be so buried in work, you're gonna have no time for play.

Rick: Not if you're with me. Private jets, fashion weeks abroad. I bet we could squeeze some fun out of that.

Caroline: (Sighs) New York would be so much fun. Oh, we would have a blast. I could show you all my old haunts.

Rick: I'd like that.

Caroline: Oh, a morning run through central park. We'll get our work done during the day, and for dinner, we can go to 52nd street and east  21. They have the most amazing chicken hash. It's one of my all-time favorites.

Rick: Chicken hash?

Caroline: Oh, my god, you have to trust me. It is so good.

Rick: No, my--my mouth is watering. (Chuckles)

Caroline: Oh, and then we can go to the Broadway theater. Maybe we could see "once." I hear that it has the most wonderful love story.

Rick: Oh, look at you. You're pumped.

Caroline: I know. Oh, I just got so carried away. (Laughs)

Rick: You're still a new Yorker at heart.

Caroline: (Sighs) Definitely. But I love L.A., too.

Bill: Katie is damned upset with me.

Donna: Can you blame her?

Bill: No. I went too far with Deacon. But what really matters, what--what is most important-- Katie almost died. But she didn't. She delivered our baby. She fought her way back. And we should be celebrating. I don't know that she'll ever be able to forgive E.

Donna: What you did was sneaky, underhanded. It's beneath you. You messed with my nice and her relationship. You--you threw Deacon at her, and you lied to us the entire time. Maybe Katie shouldn't forgive you. You know, maybe she should take that--that sweet little baby of hers and run as far away from you as possible.

Bill: I know. I don't deserve her.

Donna: No, you don't. But guess what? You're the guy that she picked. So you need to walk into that nursery and talk to her. Take come responsibility and apologize.

Bill: I have.

Donna: Do it again, Bill. Do it until she can hear you.

Bill: Hey.

Katie: Hey.

Bill: How's our little miracle doing?

Katie: He's good. I held him for awhile, and he went back to sleep.

Bill: I love you, Katie. Can't you let go of what happened and just be here now with our baby and me? 

Rick: So you want to show me new York?

Caroline: I'd love to.

Rick: I still never gave you the special Rick's guided tour of L.A.

Caroline: You did promise that.

Rick: Yeah, that's when my cross-dressing got in the way.

Caroline: Oh, god, you must think I'm so gullible.

Rick: Well, yeah.

Caroline: (Gasps) Stop it.

Rick: (Laughs) But it could also mean that you're trustworthy.

Caroline: Yes, well, amber's not the person to trust

Rick: You can trust me, Caroline.

Caroline: I know. It's just complicated. You know, Thomas and I--

Rick: Thomas has been spending a lot of time with my sister.

Caroline: (Scoffs) I'm very aware.

Rick: He's got it bad for Hope. He always has.

Caroline: So I've heard.

Rick: You have another choice. And I'd always put you first.

Caroline: You always seem to forget that I have a boyfriend. I mean, I haven't...

Rick: Oh, come on. Are you guys going steady? (Scoffs) I mean, what kind of relationship is that where-- where he spends hours with Hope while you're waiting round for him?

Caroline: Thomas and I have to straighten a few things out yet.

Rick: Oh, come on, stop being so nice. There's no juice left in that relationship, and you know it. Your loyalty for him is not returned. Look, you are the full package, Caroline. You're bright and funny and gorgeous and trustworthy-- everything that I've ever wanted, but never had. Ad yet you're standing right here in front of me.  I just can't help myself.

Bill: I saw my son headed for a life filled with nothing but regret, so I threw roadblocks in front of him. But I lost sight of what was most important to me.  You. You, Katie. Nothing I have, nothing I am means anything without you. I screwed up. I screwed up big time. I got you so upset, I sent you into labor. I almost lost you. I was trying to protect Liam, but that's no excuse.  I've learned something through all this. You're right. I am a controlling S.O.B. who has to let go, stop getting in other people's business, let Liam make or not make his own mistakes, focus on you and our beautiful son, that little miracle.  I can be better, a better husband, a better father. I can be a better man, Katie... if you'll forgive me.
