Bill: What the hell are you doing here?
Deacon: I got a little problem.
Bill: You're about to have a bigger problem.
Deacon: (Chuckles) Oh, really?
Bill: You don't come in my building. You don't come anywhere near my building.
Deacon: Well, I-I just did.
Bill: You want more money, you call but the answer will be no.
Deacon: This isn't about money. This is about my daughter.
Hope: (Sighs) Deacon came to see me.
Donna: Deacon? What did he want?
Hope: Um, he was worried about me. (Chuckles) My father was worried about me. (Sighs)
Bill: We had a deal. I got you out of jail, you did a job for me-- that's where it ends.
Deacon: Yeah, well, unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. I'm gonna try something new with you.
Bill: (Sighs)
Deacon: My daughter is in a lot of pain.
Bill: You kept her from making a big mistake, which you screwed up by the way.
Deacon: Okay, listen, you got me out of jail and sent me to Italy so that I could stop her wedding. Is she married?
Bill: No.
Deacon: No.
Bill: Because of a clerical error.
Deacon: Oh, come on.
Bill: Not because of you. Now get out! Slither through the loading dock. I don't want anybody seeing you.
Deacon: I'm not leaving by the loading dock. I'm going across the hall, 'cause I'm pretty damn sure that's where your son's office is!
Liam: Did I ask you to make those changes?
Woman: No, but I thought--
Liam: Oh, well, that's your problem right there. Don't. Don't think. Just do what I tell you to do. It's real simple.
Man: We'll fix it.
Liam: I know you will. Have it on my desk by the end of the day. (Sighs) We're done.
Caroline: Bad day, cousin?
Liam: Only when people don't do what I ask them to do.
Caroline: Mm. Is that what's really got you all riled up?
Liam: Caroline, I have a job to do and the whole point of having employees is to make the job easier, not harder.
Caroline: Okay, I see. So... this has got nothing to do with what's making you so upset?
Liam: (Sighs)
Katie: I thought Deacon was out of your life.
Donna: What about the letter that he left you in Italy?
Hope: I know. I know. I know. I really thought that I would never see him again. But it just seems like every time I need him, he shows up. And I-I mean, isn't that what a father is supposed to do-- be there for his daughter? I-I really feel like this is going to change my life.
Bill: You're threatening to go to my son?
Deacon: I'm just saying I think your son might be real interested in what actually went down in Italy, at least your part in it.
Bill: How much do you want? You say it isn't about money. It's always about money.
Deacon: You know something? You're an arrogant man, Mr. Spencer. But I'll tell you what-- you think you can buy me off when my daughter's life is a mess? You put your checkbook away, 'cause I'm not for sale, not this time.
Liam: (Sighs)
Caroline: Wow. You've really grabbed hold of this whole thing.
Liam: What thing?
Caroline: This new image you're projecting-- this darker, edgier side of Liam.
Liam: I'm not projecting anything other than how I feel.
Caroline: Well, then maybe that's the problem. It's how you're feeling. You fought for Hope, and you lost. You're just having a tough time accepting it.
Liam: Caroline, I don't know what to tell you. I'm accepting what is, okay? She doesn't love me anymore. She told me that point-blank.
Caroline: (Chuckles)
Liam: And she-- and you're laughing. Why are you--I'm glad that you're happy about this.
Caroline: I mean, come on! She is crazy about you. Okay, yeah, so she told you that she didn't love you after you acted like a fool. You actually believe that? Are you that dense?
Hope: (Sighs)
Katie: Listen, Hope, um... (Sighs) I'm glad you're feeling good about your dad. I mean, that's--that's really important to a girl. And I just want you to know that he's--he's not gonna solve your problems with Liam.
Hope: I know. Trust me, I-I-I know that. Nobody can solve that. But it is really, really nice to have a father around who cares. If you had seen the way he looked at me-- I mean, nobody has looked at me like that, except for maybe Mom. It's just really nice that here is someone who I know is going to look out for me no matter what. So you're asking, do I trust him? Yes, I do.
Bill: So suddenly, the con man's become father of the year? You never gave a damn about Hope.
Deacon: Yeah, I know.
Bill: And that's why you're back-- to make things right?
Deacon: Exactly.
Bill: Beautiful. Go ahead, make things right. God knows the kid needs something. Just stay away from my son and me.
Deacon: She'd be married to Liam right now if I hadn't interfered in Italy.
Bill: Maybe for five minutes, until Liam got his head screwed on right.
Deacon: Yeah, well, maybe he would feel a little differently if he knew all the facts.
Bill: You go anywhere near my boy, and I will have you back in that prison faster than you can say, "Con a sucker."
Deacon: Just stop. Just stop it. Stop it. You sound stupid, all right? Don't threaten me, 'cause we both know you got no legs. The fact of the matter is, I go back to prison, the truth comes out. And you, well, you might find yourself in a cell right next to me. That'd be interesting. Besides, I don't think Liam would forgive you if he knew what you did.
Bill: Hmm. The convict's word against mine. I'll take my chances.
Deacon: You're bluffing, Bill, and we both know it. (Tapping finger pointedly) Liam would never forgive you if he knew what you did.
Bill: Have you seen your daughter?
Deacon: Yeah.
Bill: How was that?
Deacon: It was good. It was real good.
Bill: She accepts you?
Deacon: Um... I hope so.
Bill: She... trusts you?
Deacon: Maybe someday.
Bill: You go public with this, and she'll hate you, Deacon. Does that matter?
Liam: Well, thanks for the advice. I'll, uh, file it away.
Caroline: Whoa! Do not dismiss me like I am one of your lackey employees.
Liam: Well, you annoy me just as much, so...
Caroline: Oh, kind of like the photo of Thomas and Hope.
Liam: Uh, get-- that does not annoy me. It--
Caroline: (Scoffs) Liam Spencer, do not even give me that. You wouldn't have gone all Stanley Kowalski at the wedding if Hope didn't get underneath your skin. And can we talk for a second about how ridiculous you looked coming out in your underpants and the hair and the neck tattoo? But did you give damn? No. Because all you wanted was for Hope to marry you. You could have cared less what any of us thought. And that hasn't changed. Why should it?
Liam: You know, you seem to be under the impression that Steffy just isn't even a factor at all.
Caroline: Oh, God. Yes, Steffy. Yes, she's a factor. She's a distraction.
Liam: She's a lot more than that.
Caroline: So then go marry Steffy again.
Liam: (Sighs)
Caroline: But... judging by the way that your nose gets so out of joint when you see Hope with Thomas, I'd give it one last shot... unless you're okay with living with yourself knowing that you settled.
(Liam remembers happy days with Hope)
Singer: Heavy on my mind heavy on my heart want to make it clean don't want to pick it apart just hanging on the answer that we both never say sitting in the last time I let you get away oh, forgetful you forgetful me whatever happened to the simple us? Whatever happened to the way it was? Where everything
Liam: I love you, Hope Logan, and I'll always love you. And I want you to be my wife.
Hope: (Laughs)
Liam: Will you marry me?
Hope: Yes. (Laughs) Yes, I would like nothing more than to be your bride. (Giggles) (Laughs)
Donna: I know you think you can't trust Deacon.
Katie: You know what? Let's not--let's not talk about Deacon anymore, okay? (Sighs) What are you gonna do about Liam?
Hope: (Sighs) what can I do? I love the guy.
Donna: (Sighs)
Hope: I love him, and I swear, I wish that I didn't. But despite everything, I do. I love him. So I don't know. I mean, what am I supposed to do with that?
Donna: I don't know, honey.
Hope: (Sighs)
Donna: Maybe it's time to move on. Maybe... (Sighs) I don't know. I saw the picture of you and Thomas. It--it was pretty impressive.
Hope: (Sighs) You know, I wish that picture had never been posted.
Katie: Why?
Hope: Thomas is a really great guy, and we get along very well. But then there's Caroline, and I know that if I even think about jumping into things with him, it's going to be the same thing I've already dealt with. It's going to be sharing a man with another woman.
Katie: Well, the question is, is he gonna have to share you with Liam? Because that's where your heart really is, isn't it?
Donna: Oh, baby.
Hope: (Sighs)
Donna: (Sighs)
Bill: That ship has sailed. Liam and Hope are finished. You want to help your daughter, get her to accept it.
Deacon: She can't, Bill. She loves him too much.
Bill: What about her and Thomas? They've working together.
Deacon: (Sighs) Yeah, she told me.
Bill: And?
Deacon: Oh, come on. She's into Thomas the way that-- that Liam's into Steffy.
Bill: (Laughs) There's no comparison. Liam and Steffy were married. They belong together. Hope and Liam do not.
Deacon: What else have you done to them, huh? I'm curious. You know, that-- that failed wedding at the Forrester place, were you involved with that?
Bill: I'm flattered, but you give me way too much credit.
Deacon: Eh... I don't know, Bill. I don't think so. You see, the way I heard it, Liam, he, uh, he wound up with Steffy that night. As a matter of fact, they spent the night together. And then the next day, he shows up looking like some kind of a-- a crazed warrior, you know? I gotta tell you, uh, you say you're not involved, but that just--just smacks of vintage Bill Spencer to me.
Bill: You are boring me. I had nothing to do with it.
Deacon: Really? All right, then we'll just have to take your word on that one.
Bill: Liam was drawn to Steffy that night, just like he always is and always will be. And Hope knows it. That's why she dumped me. You owe your daughter. Why don't you do something good for her once in your life and keep her away from my son?
Deacon: This really concerns you, doesn't it? Liam and Hope, the way they feel about each other. I don't know. Uh, I-I-I'm curious. I mean, I just wonder, after them being apart like this, what would happen if the two of them actually came face-to-face one more time?
Grace: You two really are hot together.
Hope: (Chuckles) We are promoting a line, not a relationship. Uh, I'll go ahead and finish that up.
Grace: You sure?
Hope: Yeah. Thorne is expecting these. Thank you, Grace. Okay.
(Door opens)
Hope: Did you forget something?
Liam: I see you're working.
Hope: (Sighs) Yep.
Liam: How is it having... Thomas as a partner?
Hope: Oh, he has some really good ideas. Yeah.
Liam: Yeah. He probably does.
Hope: Uh, why are you here?
Liam: I don't know. (Chuckles)
Hope: Okay, then maybe you shouldn't be?
Liam: Yeah, maybe I shouldn't.
Hope: Your closet must have really changed.
Liam: What?
Hope: All the dark clothes. There's no color left in your life?
Liam: No, that's not true. Actually, I have a red tie somewhere.
Hope: (Chuckles)
Liam: It's been a while since you smiled at something I said.
Hope: (Sighs) Well ... there hasn't been much reason to smile these days.
Liam: Why? Why not?
Hope: Do you really have to ask that?
Liam: No, I mean, you're free of the pain I caused you. That's gotta count for something?
Hope: Yeah. Yes. So very free. You know what, Liam? I think you should go.
Liam: Yeah. Yeah. You take care.
Hope: You, too.
(Door opens, closes)
Hope: (Sighs) (Sighs)
Liam: You said something. You said that you didn't love me anymore, and I ... keep hearing those words in my head. Are they true?
Hope: No.
Deacon: Everything you do just seems to backfire on you, Bill.
Bill: Yeah, look around. I'm a real failure.
Deacon: I'm not talking about all your little toys. I'm talking about the fact that your own son doesn't tow the party line, and that just kills you.
Bill: You're definitely overstating your case, and you've definitely overstayed your welcome.
Deacon: What is wrong with you, man? Why can't you just leave 'em alone?
Bill: Goodbye, Mr. Sharpe. And you will not return ever.
Deacon: Your son is in love with my daughter. Now, you go ahead and keep fighting it, but I'm gonna be fighting on the other side just as hard.
Bill: You'll lose just like you always do.
Deacon: Oh, my God. Bill, please, I've got one word for you. "Therapy." Seek it now.
Bill: I have only four words.
Deacon: Listen to me. I don't know who the hell you think you are, messing with people's lives, playing God, busting me out of prison to ruin my daughter's wedding, screwing up the wedding here in Los Angeles, which I'm sure you had nothing to do with, right?
Bill: And you can walk out of my office or you're gonna be carried out. What's it gonna be?
Deacon: You sh--
(Door opens)
Katie: What is he saying to you? You ruined my niece's wedding, didn't you, Bill? Everything that happened in Italy, that was you.
