Hope: (Scoffs) And, Liam, you love Steffy. And that is not okay with me.

Steffy: But he married you, Hope.

Hope: (Groans) Oh, my God. See, this--this right here is why you two should be together. You both think that words trump actions. I don't.

Steffy: What actions? So he dyed his hair and he got drunk. Why is that so horrible?

Liam: Is something more going on?

Hope: No.

Liam: Hope, please, whatever it is, just--just tell me.

Hope: Liam, whenever you're hurting, your instinct is to go to her...

Liam: I... (Sighs)

Hope: Not me. She's always going to be a part of your life. She's here right now. I guess this is just the way it's meant to be.

Pam: You know, this really reflects badly on--on both of us.

Donna: Yeah, Pammy. (Chuckles) I just got back from my trip, and organizing our desk isn't exactly the top priority.

Pam: Our desk?

Donna: Mm.

Pam: So, um, how was your trip? Did you have a good time?

Donna: Uh-huh.

Pam: How's Stephen?

Donna: Oh, he is wonderful. I mean, he's--he's really starting to enjoy Dallas.

Pam: Oh, that's nice. Did he... ask about me?

Donna: Uh... nope. (Chuckles) (Sighs)

Rick: Hey, you two.

Donna: Oh, thank goodness. (Chuckles) Rick, yes, we have, uh, some papers for you.

Pam: Right here.

Rick: (Clears throat)

Donna: Uh, yeah, right. Right there.

Rick: Welcome back, Aunt Donna.

Donna: Thank you. (Sighs) You know, I can't believe, uh, about Hope, what happened.

Rick: It's terrible. Is she still in there with Thomas?

Pam: Nope. They both went to Liam's.

Rick: What?

Pam: Moving out her stuff.

Rick: Oh. Well, that's good. That's nice of Thomas.

Pam: Yeah, his girlfriend is working in your office, by the way.

Rick: Is she?

Pam: Yep. Let's take this to the mail room, Donna. Come on.

Donna: Okay. (Sighs)

Rick: Dinner.

Caroline: What?

Rick: Have dinner with me.

Caroline: Um, I--

Rick: And don't tell me that you have plans with Thomas, because I know you don't. He's with Hope. He's helping her move out of Liam's.

Caroline: He is?

Rick: Well, it's a difficult time for my sister right now. But--but she's making the right choice. I'm glad she has Thomas helping her out.

Hope: I kept thinking, we'll get through this, just through one more crisis, but... not this time.

(Thud)

Steffy: What was that?

Liam: The wind probably.

Hope: You don't remember all the creaks and groans this house makes? You will. I'm sure you'll be moving back in soon.

Liam: Come on, Hope. You don't have to do this.

Hope: You did this all on your own.

(Cell phone rings)

Rick: Yeah, I'm sorry. I gotta take this.

(Ring)

Rick: Can you give me a sec?

Caroline: Sure.

Rick: All right.

(Ring) (Ring)

Rick: Othello.

Othello: Hey.

Rick: What's up?

Othello: Man, I've been thinking a lot about what we told Hope, and, Bro, I don't like it at all, Rick. I really don't.

Rick: Liam never appreciated her. This has finally got her away from him. And now she can be with Thomas, Steffy and Liam can be together, and I can have my shot at Caroline. Everything is the way that it should be.

Othello: Liam was just blowing off steam. He and Steffy didn't do anything. If Hope finds out we lied, Bro, you know she would be back with him in a heartbeat.

Rick: It's all working out for the best.

Othello: No, not for Hope and Liam, man.

Rick: There is no Hope and Liam. Good-bye. (Sighs)

Caroline: What was that all about? You look like it was pretty intense.

Rick: It's no big deal. Just trying to be a good brother, make sure Hope comes out of this all right.

Caroline: I know you're worried about your sister.

Rick: She's been through a lot lately.

Caroline: Did Thomas or Hope say when they would be back?

Rick: Late. Very, very late. Like, way past dinner late, so we should go eat.

Caroline: Really?

Rick: (Chuckles)

Caroline: (Chuckles)

Rick: But in all seriousness, I don't think we're gonna hear from them tonight. You weren't around when Hope and Liam broke up last time and the way Thomas latched onto her. But you know what I think is amazing? What one night will do. Liam decided to go drinking with Steffy, and now look. Hope calls off the wedding, Thomas rushes to her side, and now here you are, standing in my office looking... (Chuckles) So sexy. I just--I can't help but think that this is how it's supposed to be.

Caroline: Rick.

Rick: Look. (Sighs) Caroline, Amber damaged me. I need someone good in my life, someone I can be proud to have by my side. I'm Eric Forrester Jr. I'm gonna be running this company someday or starting one of my own. And I'm gonna need a counterpart, someone who has elegance and grace, who can do this with me. I guess what I'm saying is I have goals, and I don't want to accomplish them alone.

Thomas: All right, ready to go, Hope? Everything is taken care of.

Hope: I'm ready.

Liam: (Scoffs) So this is it? I mean, this... this is how you're gonna leave our home?

Hope: This was never our home. We tried. It was always yours with Steffy. (Sighs) I saw so much for us here. Now all I see is a man with a sword around his neck breaking my heart. (Sniffles) Good-bye. (Sighs) (Sniffles)

(Car door opens)

(Car door closes)

(Engine turns over)

(Car departs)

Steffy: What in the world?

Rick: I've been tempted by the wrong type of woman in the past. I need to make the right choice this time.

Caroline: Well, it won't be me, because I am with Thomas.

Rick: You like Thomas like a boyfriend. It's--it's cute. It's fun. You've had your little summer fling, but is there really a future there?

Caroline: I think so.

Rick: Then why is he with Hope right now? Is he really being a good friend? Or are some old feelings returning? You know, he's just like his dad. They both love to ride off and save the damsel in distress with over-the-top declarations of love. But I know you. You're too smart. You're--you're too strong to ever be his damsel. Thomas is with Hope right now. He's in full-on white knight mode. It's just a prelude of what's to come.

Hope: He has to have seen it by now.

Thomas: Oh, definitely. I was looking in my rearview mirror as we were pulling out, and he was looking right at it.

Hope: (Sighs) Was it a bad idea?

Thomas: Well, Liam has gotten away with so much... (Scoffs) Taking turns hurting both you and my sister. A big sign like that reminding him of what he did-- no, no, it wasn't a bad idea.

Hope: (Sighs)

Thomas: Although, I was a little bit surprised when you suggested it.

Hope: (Sighs) I'm sure he's going to have it cleaned up very soon, but until then, I-I'm glad that he has to see what he did right there on his house. He stabbed me in the heart.

Thomas: I'm proud of you.

Hope: (Scoffs)

Thomas: You're making him accountable.

Hope: I want him to really see how I feel.

Thomas: Good. Good. So don't look back. Don't...

Hope: (Sighs)

Thomas: Don't second-guess yourself, your choices, your beliefs. (Sighs) you sent Liam a signal. You know what you deserve from a man, and Liam is just not capable of giving it.

Hope: (Sighs)

Steffy: I guess we know what Thomas was up to.

Liam: It had to have been Hope's idea, though. God, she hates me.

Steffy: No. She loves you. And that's why she's lashing out.

Liam: That is not what this is. She just wanted me to understand the pain. (Sighs)

Steffy: Liam, we went out as friends. And if Hope can't deal with that... look, I-I-I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I-I don't want to trash-talk her, but this is just typical Hope.

Liam: I hurt her, Steffy. She can't trust me. It's justified. Look at these choices, these stupid choices I just make over and over again. I... (Sighs) What I did was wrong, and now I lost her.

Caroline: You really think that Thomas is hiding feelings for Hope?

Rick: I don't think that he's conscious of it.

Caroline: Just buried deep, waiting for the day that she's available?

Rick: You're upset.

Caroline: (Scoffs)

Rick: I'm sorry. You know, I hate to be the one to tell you, but yeah, you know, Liam and Steffy, they've been married. They love each other, which makes Hope available for Thomas.

Caroline: Leaving me out in the cold.

Rick: No. No, absolutely not. I would take care of you. Thomas will disappoint. I won't.

Caroline: (Sighs) You're acting like it's a done deal. Liam and Hope just broke up, and Thomas is being a good friend to her. And if--if there's more, if--if he has feelings for her, then... I'll wait to hear it from him before I let you kiss me again... or take me to dinner.

Rick: Understood.

Caroline: Good. What am I even waiting for? I'm just--I'm gonna call him.

Rick: My sister is so hurt right now. If he's giving her any kind of comfort, I don't want him to leave her side. You know, I'll tell you what. You stay here. You get back to work. I'll ask Pam and Donna when they think they'll be back.

Caroline: Thank you.

Steffy: Look, I feel bad for Hope, but if she can't trust you, that's on her, not you. You've been faithful.

Liam: Italy?

Steffy: Okay, since you said your vows...

Liam: (Sniffles)

Steffy: The ones she claimed didn't count.

Liam: (Sighs)

Steffy: Liam, we went out last night. We had drinks as friends.

Liam: Yeah, the night before my wedding, on top of what happened in Italy already. I mean, she's right. It was wrong. It was insensitive. If I had just... you know, just put her feelings first instead of my own, then...

Steffy: No, I-I get it. I get it. You hate hurting her. And you're a man of your word. And you feel like you've broken it.

Liam: I put a sword through her heart.

Liam: You know, that's... what I did... to such a good person. Why do I hurt her like that?

Steffy: Liam...time will take care of everything for both of you.

Hope: I accepted over and over his love for another woman while he was supposed to be committed to me. Never again. I mean, if--if I ever get married, there will be no question in my mind what the groom is doing the night before.

Thomas: Hope... (Scoffs) Guys are gonna be circling so fast, you're gonna have your pick of men who want to love only you.

Rick: (Knocks on door) Hey.

Hope: Hey.

Rick: Pam and Donna told me you were back.

Hope: Mm.

Rick: You went over to Liam's to pack up your stuff?

Hope: Yep. (Sighs) All packed up.

Rick: You know, Sis, I would have done that for you in a heartbeat.

Hope: It's--its fine. I mean, Thomas was actually a big help.

Thomas: Well, I mean, it wasn't that big of a deal-- a little packing, a bit of painting. (Chuckles)

Rick: Painting?

Hope: Uh, yeah. I... (Sighs) I kind of had this idea. Um, you know, Liam has one of those--like, this tower on the side of his house.

Rick: Yeah.

Hope: Uh, well, I-I kind of asked Thomas to... spray-paint a giant heart on it.

Thomas: With one of those stupid Spencer swords stabbing right through it.

Hope: (Sighs) Its how he made me feel. That's how much he hurt me.

Rick: I know.

Hope: I'll be right back. (Sighs)

Rick: (Sighs)

Thomas: Well, I should get back to work.

Rick: Uh, no, don't--don't go.

Thomas: No, I need to track down Caroline.

Rick: No, Hope needs you. She's finally done with Liam. (Sighs)

Thomas: (Sighs)

Rick: You wanted that. It wasn't so long ago you proposed to her, you remember?

Thomas: And things would be very different if she said "Yes."

Rick: She's finally done with that jerk Spencer.

Thomas: I would never treat her the way Liam did.

Rick: I know. Remind her of that. This is your chance. Make it happen. You love Hope. Make her yours.
