Steffy: What do you mean, there's no wedding?

Hope: I cancelled it.

Steffy: Why?

Hope: You know why. You got Liam drunk and dropped him off at my wedding on the back of your motorcycle. You think it's funny? Do you think its okay? It's not.

Liam: Thanks. Okay. Okay, I get it. You want me to be Liam the conqueror. Well, I-I can do that.

Bill: All right. Maybe we're making a little headway.

Liam: But, I mean, if you want to conquer, you've got to put in the effort, right? And you gotta give it your all, right?

Bill: Right. But I'm afraid you're missing the point.

Liam: No, I'm not. No, I'm not missing the point. I get it. I do. I-I see this very clearly. And I'm not gonna beg Hope anymore. I'm not.

Bill: Spencer men don't beg.

Liam: I know. And I'm not gonna-- I'm not gonna plead with her to come back to me, either.

Bill: That's the kind of talk I want to hear.

Liam: But, Dad, I'm not giving up on her, either.

Rick: (Clears throat) Has Liam completely lost his mind-- running around here in his underwear, throwing hope one B.S. apology after another?

Caroline: No, he was emotional.

Thomas: Oh, it was more like a full-on breakdown.

Rick: (Scoffs)

Caroline: Okay, it was... (Sighs) It was pretty bad, but I--what do you expect? He's a very passionate guy.

Rick: Well, he's your cousin. You gotta stick up for him.

Thomas: Yeah, it's required by Spencer law, isn't it?

Rick: (Chuckles)

Caroline: I don't know. It... (Sighs) Part of me kind of thought it was kind of cool, you know, him just rushing in here and begging her to forgive him, just pouring his heart out.

Thomas: Acting like a maniac.

Caroline: No, he was fighting for her. He wasn't giving up. It's kind of romantic. Maybe she and Liam can work it out.

Thomas: I don't know. She was pretty upset.

Rick: Yeah, in a strong way.

Caroline: But they really care about each other.

Rick: No, he doesn't care about her enough. Otherwise, he wouldn't have done all the things he has.

Thomas: Look, he's still hung up on Steffy. That's the major issue.

Rick: Well, Steffy can have him. Liam has crossed the line too many times. I'm not gonna let him hurt Hope again.

Liam: I know I hurt Hope, and today was a setback, but I refuse to believe that it's over.

Bill: A setback? You call that a setback?

Liam: Well--

Bill: It was a disaster, Liam.

Liam: All right.

Bill: You completely humiliated yourself.

Liam: I know. I know. And I shamed the family name. I'm sorry.

Bill: All right, look, contrary to what you might think, I am not as concerned about the family name as I am about my son. You gotta have more respect for yourself, Liam.

Liam: Well... (Sighs) All I can do is be me. But I am a Spencer, and I will start acting like one. I... I mean, we get what we want, right? It's in our blood. Well, I want Hope. I want her to be my wife. And I will make that happen.

Hope: I've given you so many chances, and now here we are, having the exact same conversation we've had a hundred times.

Steffy: Hope, can you just let me explain?

Hope: No! Oh, my God! I was such an idiot for ever having trusted you. You made a mockery of my wedding day again. I asked you to respect me. I asked you to stay away from Liam. And what did you do? You dragged him all over Hollywood the night before his wedding. You spent the entire night with him. I want to know what happened. I want to know what you did with my fiancé.

Bill: Have you given any real thought as to why this wedding didn't happen? (Sighs)

Liam: Uh, yeah-- 'cause I'm an idiot, and I went out and got trashed with my ex-wife the night before. Naturally, my bride-to-be wasn't too thrilled about it.

Bill: You went out and got trashed with Steffy. You know, if I was the kind of guy who believed in that subconscious mind crap, I might think you did it on purpose.

Liam: Are you analyzing me?

Bill: Stuff like that doesn't happen by accident, Liam.

Liam: W-well, what? What is it--you think I did that intentionally?

Bill: Consciously, no. I mean, I don't think you were fully aware of what you were doing.

Liam: Which is what, Dr. Spencer?

Bill: Sabotaging a wedding that, deep down, you knew you didn't want.

Liam: Oh, come on. Dad, that's ridiculous. Did--didn't I just finish saying that I want Hope...

Bill: (Sighs)

Liam: And I'm gonna get her back?

Bill: Hope plays you like a fish on a line. She lets the line out, then she reels you back in. You never know, from one day to the next, what you're going to get, and I don't mean that in a good way. With Steffy, you know exactly what you're getting, and it's everything a man could want. And I think that scares you, having it all. But I'm here to tell you, it's the greatest feeling in the world.

Liam: (Sighs)

Caroline: You're really worried about Hope.

Rick: Well, I'm her brother. I'd do anything to protect her. In fact, I'm gonna go find Liam right now and make sure he stays the hell away from Hope.

Thomas: Try not to kill him.

Rick: Hey, I don't make any promises.

Thomas: I'm not stopping you.

Caroline: (Scoffs)

(Door opens)

Thomas: (Scoffs)

(Door closes)

Thomas: I don't blame him for being so protective.

Caroline: It's cute. It makes me wish I had an older brother.

Thomas: No, you don’t. It's overrated, and all we do is just pick on our little sister.

Caroline: (Chuckles) Steffy’s lucky she has you.

Thomas: Yeah. I'm just, uh... (Sighs) I just hope I'm giving her the right advice.

Caroline: About Liam?

Thomas: Well, I never doubted that Steffy and Liam were good for each other, so...

Caroline: Until now.

Thomas: Well, after his dramatic performance today, I'd say, more than ever, I'm convinced that he is not right for Hope.

Caroline: Why? Is that 'cause you're still stuck on her?

Thomas: (Chuckles)

Steffy: What do you think happened? I took him to a club to go dancing as a friend.

Hope: (Sighs) It's all so innocent.

Steffy: Okay, yeah, a--it got out of hand a little bit.

Hope: Out of hand?

Steffy: Yeah. Yeah.

Hope: Yeah. He showed up with dyed hair, a tattoo, still drunk. I can only imagine what went down.

Steffy: It's not what you're thinking.

Hope: Can you blame me for wondering? After seeing the two of you recorded live and up close in Italy, I mean, how--how do I know something like that didn't happen again?

Steffy: No, Hope, you should just have enough faith in Liam.

Hope: Oh, my God. You two spent the entire night together. Did you kiss? Did you spend the night at the house?

Steffy: Oh, my God. I dropped him off at your wedding.

Hope: Yeah, after you partied all night.

Steffy: You left him at the house alone. He made dinner for you.

Hope: (Sighs) (Clears throat)

Steffy: It was your last night together before all the festivities. He wanted to be with you, Hope. He didn't want to be with me. He didn't want to get all wild and crazy. But you called him and you told him you couldn't make it.

Hope: I didn't blow him off, Steffy.

Steffy: Well, I-I-I-- that is what he thought.

Hope: Do you want to know where I was?

Steffy: (Groans)

Hope: I was with your grandmother. Stephanie was having trouble breathing.

Steffy: What? Is she okay? What--

Hope: Yeah, she's fine. She's fine, but I didn't know that, and Eric wasn't home, and I wasn't about to leave her there by herself. So yeah, I cancelled on Liam.

Steffy: Why didn't you explain that to him?

Hope: I would have explained that to him, but Stephanie didn't want me to. She didn't want anyone to worry. So I respected that. I thought Liam would understand. I mean, we were going to see each other the next day at our wedding. It wasn't a big deal, Steffy, until you made it a big deal. You couldn't just leave well enough alone. You had to swoop in on your motorcycle and whisk Liam off for a night of partying, drilling it into his head that I'm the bad guy. This is the outcome you've wanted for months, isn't it, Steffy? You happy now?

[Liam remembering]

Liam: I'm so sorry. I never meant to hurt you. I just want to be your husband. You know, I just--I want to be--I'll be whoever you want me to be. Just let me hear you say that you forgive me, that you love me. Just say that you love me.

Hope: I do love you, Liam.

Liam: Oh, yes.

Hope: But you don't deserve me. I think you should go.

Liam: Oh, Dude, I can't--I can't do this right now.

Rick: Yeah? You had enough?

Liam: Yeah.

Rick: Yeah, so have I. And so has my sister. It's over, Spencer. Hope's through with you.

Liam: Okay, that's not up to you.

Rick: Hey. You leave Hope alone. Don't you go anywhere near her.

Thomas: Wow, you're not gonna let me live that down, are you?

Caroline: I think it's adorable, you and Hope. You must have made a very cute couple.

Thomas: Well, not as cute as you and me.

Caroline: Well, I'm glad that the two of you did not work out.

Thomas: Yeah?

Caroline: Mm-hmm. You know, you can't just kiss me to make me shut up.

Thomas: Really? Why is that? Maybe 'cause it's working.

Caroline: (Gasps)

Thomas: Mm.

Caroline: (Giggles)

Hope: (Sighs) You and Liam together again, just like in Italy, probably making out, hands all over each other.

Steffy: Why are you always assuming the worst?

Hope: Because I've seen the worst, Steffy. I know what you're capable of, and I want to know exactly what happened between the two of you. But, please, you can spare me all the gory details.

Steffy: There are no details, okay? I don't even know why I'm indulging you. You do not deserve Liam. You honestly don’t. If you actually think that we were shacking up, we were making out on the dance floor...

Hope: (Clears throat)

Steffy: It didn't happen. It was not like that at all.

Hope: Oh, my God. You're covering for him.

Steffy: Why would I do that?

Hope: Because you are madly in love with him.

Rick: You obviously still have a thing for Steffy.

Liam: (Sighs) Nothing happened, Rick.

Rick: Yeah? You expect anybody to believe that?

Liam: Well, it's the truth. Sorry.

Rick: You spent all night with her.

Liam: Yeah, drinking, dancing, fully clothed, crashing on separate lounge chairs.

Rick: The problem is who you did it with.

Liam: I know that. Thank you.

Rick: You ruined Hope's wedding.

Liam: (Sighs)

Rick: And you broke her heart. And you know, that, mm, that doesn't sit well with me.

Liam: Okay, Rick, look, I respect you for sticking up for Hope. I do. I really, really do. But butt out, man!

Rick: Not when you hurt my little sister!

Liam: Okay.

Rick: You know, if it was the first time, maybe, maybe I'd let it slide, but it's just one thing after another with you. You're not a stand-up guy, Liam. I've tried giving you the benefit of the doubt, but, man, I've had it. You know what your problem is? You don't respect Hope. You hung out with Steffy, of all people, after what happened in Italy-- how could you do that?

Liam: Uh--

Rick: Don't answer that.

Liam: Okay.

Rick: Because you know why? Honestly, I shouldn't be surprised. I've had my doubts about you since the very beginning, since that first trip to Aspen when you married Steffy at the drop of a hat. Who does that? But I let it go. I gave you another shot for my sister's sake, because she wanted you. But you know what? Now I see... I see what you really are. You are just toxic to Hope.

Rick: You need to walk away, and you need to let her go.

Liam: Can't do it. Love her. Not backing off. Sorry.

Caroline: I think it's good that you and Hope are still friends, you know? It's a good sign if a guy is friends with his exes.

Thomas: Well, it's not like we were ever that serious. I mean, it could have been. It just, uh, didn't happen that way.

Caroline: Because she was still in love with Liam?

Thomas: Well, she's been hung up on Liam for a while now, and, uh, Liam-- he's been hung up on both of them. It just depends on which way the wind is blowing. It's always either Steffy or Hope.

Caroline: Oh, love triangles.

Thomas: Yeah.

Caroline: Yeah. Doesn't ever end well.

Thomas: Someone always gets hurt.

Caroline: Mm-hmm.

Thomas: Unfortunately, this time, it was Hope. You know, I think every woman deserves a man who is... utterly and completely devoted to her, who wants her and only her.

Rick: You know, Liam, you really shouldn't lie to yourself... because I know, deep down, you still want to be with Steffy. And I get it.

Liam: Ah.

Rick: She's an incredible woman. But you already knew that, didn't you? Otherwise, you wouldn't have risked everything with Hope for one night with Steffy.

Liam: Oh, I-I didn't know that's what I was doing.

Rick: You don't think. You're still a kid. I mean, you're not prepared for marriage, and neither is Hope, certainly not to a guy like you.

Liam: (Sighs)

Rick: See, Hope deserves so much better. She's a beautiful woman. She's kind. She's innocent. She has so much integrity. And I can see why that is attractive. You want to be with the goddess, but obviously, you don't want it bad enough.

Liam: Okay, look, all right, Rick, I am--I am trying here. I'm trying to make things work with Hope. And the fact is, Hope probably does believe that something happened between me and Steffy.

Rick: (Chuckles) Yeah, can you blame her? I mean, after what happened in Italy?

Liam: I know.

Rick: (Stammers) Who's to say it wasn't another Italy? And how would you know? You were wasted.

Liam: Nothing happened, okay? We went out. That was it. Look, I'm sorry about what happened. I'm sorry for what I did, but not to you. So either cut me some slack or leave.

Rick: I would rather slit my own throat than cut you slack.

Liam: Okay.

Rick: You're not welcome in this family.

Liam: (Sighs) Yeah.

Rick: I don't want to be your brother-in-law. I don't want to be your friend. I want nothing to do with you.

Liam: Yeah.

Rick: And I'm gonna make damn sure that my sister feels the same way.  Have a good night.

(Door opens) (Door closes)

Hope: So nothing happened?

Steffy: That's what I'm saying.

Hope: And you're being honest with me?

Steffy: Liam and I never even kissed, Hope.

Hope: (Sighs) Oh, God.

Steffy: Oh, my God.

Hope: You knew how important my wedding day was to me.

Steffy: I wasn't trying to ruin it for you. Liam just had a-a little too much to drink.

Hope: Yeah, and you just let him.

Steffy: He's his own person. I'm not his babysitter and neither are you.

Hope: (Sighs) Yeah, well, at this point, I think he might need one.

Steffy: Okay, fine. Okay, fine. I-I-I lost track of him for a bit, hence the crazy hairdo and the tattoo. But Liam thought that you ditched him, and he was disappointed.

Hope: (Sighs)

Steffy: I know it didn't fit into your plans, but it is not the end of the world. He showed up to my grandparents' house ready to marry you. I mean, who cares if he had a crazy look?

Hope: Oh, Steffy, it is not about the way he looked! It's that he was with you. It is that he woke up the morning of his wedding with you.

Steffy: It was harmless.

Hope: Not to me.

Steffy: Okay, you know... (Sighs) You want everything in this, like, perfect little package. But life isn't perfect. Honestly, if I were in your shoes, I probably would have laughed at it and still married the man that I love. But instead, you-- you cancel it, and I really don't-- I don't know why.

Hope: So that's your story. You're sticking to it. Nothing happened.

Steffy: Why does it even matter? You made your decision. The wedding is off.

Hope: Damn it! It matters to me! I want the truth, Steffy, all of it, and don't you dare lie to me.
