Hope: (Sighs) (Sighs)

Liam: Come home tonight.

Hope: (Sniffles) I wish I could.

Liam: You can. You're angry, you're not sure about us-- fine. Question our love. Scream at me. Give me hell. Do it at home.

(Knock on door)

Thomas: Jeez.

Steffy: Thomas.

Thomas: Enough with the texting. I had to see this in person. You're seriously moving back in?

Steffy: Well, no. Maybe. (Sighs)

Thomas: You said you packed a bag. Obviously, you think you are.

Steffy: Well, yeah. I, uh, have a trip planned. But if I have to cancel because Liam wants me to move back in, you know, so be it.

Thomas: Whoa, Steffy, what's going on?

Steffy: Actually, what is going on with you? You got here so quick. Were you, like, texting and driving, especially after the whole thing that happened with Marcus?

Thomas: Oh, look who's suddenly on safety patrol. I've seen you do it.

Steffy: Uh--

Thomas: And no, no, I was-- I was out this way already.

Steffy: Okay, and I only did it a few times at red lights. And I don't do it anymore! The whole thing with Marcus was a wake-up call.

Thomas: Yeah, he's lucky he didn't actually hit somebody.

Steffy: He's lucky you and Caroline figured that out.

Thomas: (Chuckles)

Steffy: Nice job, by the way. All those mysteries you read as a kid really did pay off.

Thomas: Yeah.

Steffy: (Chuckles)

Thomas: I always knew I'd make a good detective. I'm already on my next assignment-- the case of the packed suitcase. Fess up, little lady. Why does a nice girl like you think she's moving back in here?

Steffy: Oh.

Stephanie: What do you mean? Steffy's not gonna be at the stockholder's meeting? It's required.

Ridge: I don't think she's coming into work tomorrow.

Eric: Why not?

Ridge: Because she asked me for some time off. She might be flying off to a tropical island somewhere.

Stephanie: Might be?

Ridge: Or she might move in with Liam. She doesn't know which.

Stephanie: So Liam's come to his senses?

Ridge: Oh, I didn't say that. Hope spent the night with us.

Eric: Yeah, so Steffy's, uh, moved right back in, huh?

Ridge: His marriage to Hope isn't legal yet. So tonight, Steffy's making one last attempt to convince him to keep it that way.

Thomas: (Sighs) Thank you. (Sighs) So wait, their-- their wedding isn't legal?

Steffy: Uh, nope.

Thomas: But it will be, right, I mean, if all they have to do is go to the courthouse.

Steffy: Mm, not if Hope freaks out and walks out on him again, or if Liam tells Hope that he's had enough.

Thomas: Wait, what?

Steffy: Oh, Thomas. You have so much to catch up on.

Hope: I don't question your love, Liam. I know that you love me, and I want to come home. I just don't--

Liam: But you do want to. You want to. I mean, it--Hope, after everything that we've been through, after everything that we've said...

Hope: (Sighs)

Liam: It's too much for us not to end up together. I'm so sorry I didn't question the note from your dad. I'm so sorry I didn't have enough trust in you. And I'm especially sorry that you had to see that video because of how much I know it hurt.

Hope: Lies hurt, too, Liam. I think it's probably for the best I saw that video.

Steffy: Hope's pushed it too far, walking out on Liam again. It'd be one thing if their-- if their wedding was legal, but they're not married, so there's no really reason to force it.

Thomas: Does he know you're here, bag packed?

Steffy: Yeah. I'm not some crazy stalker.

Thomas: (Chuckles) Okay, well, I mean, that's a good sign if he asked you to wait.

Steffy: Well, not ex--not exactly. He's--he's off talking to Hope, and he'll be back soon. And if he tells me that he broke it off with her, then I will be right here. But if he doesn't, if he wants to go another painful round with Hope, then I'm gone. I'm gone. I'm getting on a plane. I'm going to some paradise with some mai tais and some hot cabana boys.

Thomas: (Chuckles) (Sighs)

Steffy: I told him I'm giving him an hour, so either way, I'll be--I'll be fine.

Thomas: Right.

Steffy: I will, Thomas.

Thomas: Mm. The love of your life or drown yourself in rum-- that makes a lot of sense. Yeah, you'll be fine, sure.

Steffy: Yeah, I just want the best for Liam, and if he still thinks it's with Hope, then--

Thomas: No, he can't, after all this.

Steffy: He's gonna come through this door soon enough, and we're gonna start a life together-- no tricks, no lies. That'll make all the difference this time.

Eric: I can't believe the ceremony wasn't legal.

Ridge: The ceremony was fine. It's just a matter of saying a few words and filing the papers.

Eric: Yeah, well, Hope tore those papers up.

Stephanie: That girl fought and fought and fought to have the perfect wedding. I-I--you know, it's just typical Logan behavior.

Ridge: I can totally see why she's upset.

Stephanie: Steffy's over there now, and I think Liam would be crazy if he tries to hold it together with Hope.

Hope: (Sighs) Liam, I'm glad I saw what I did.

Liam: Why? I mean, to go through all that pain--

Hope: No, Liam, it is so clear to me how you feel about Steffy. I know that you were married. I-I-I'm not in denial. But to see it-- I really helps me understand, and now I-I really get how capable you are of believing the worst in me, turning to Steffy, and then lying to my face about it. (Sighs) If you had just been honest with me in Italy, I would have been really upset. Yeah, I-I wouldn't have liked it, but I think I would have eventually gotten that it was a misunderstanding. Liam, if we are going to do this, there can be no lies. Even if you think it's going to hurt my feelings, I need the truth, or we are not going to work.

Liam: Okay. It was wrong of me to do it. It was... (Sighs) More wrong of me to keep it from you. But I said vows to you that I meant, and we are married. So why won't you let me draw up the papers?

Hope: Oh, Liam, stop asking me to validate that day.

Liam: Well, oh--

Hope: Liam, I loved that ceremony, and I-I loved your vows. But it wasn't... real.

Liam: It was to me. You give me time, and I'll prove to you that it was.

Hope: (Sighs) Honestly, Liam, I don't trust you right now.

Liam: Okay, I get it. I get it honesty is everything. But... (Sighs) How's that gonna work if we're not even communicating with each other?

Hope: (Sighs)

Liam: How's this for honest? I am really scared that you're not willing to wok this through. So prove me wrong, Hope. Come home.

Ridge: I don't like seeing Hope upset. But these things keep happening. It makes me wonder if she shouldn't just... let Liam go... (Sighs) And accept that he and Steffy should be together.

Stephanie: Well, I agree with you. I love Hope, but you know, she doesn't, in my opinion, always make the most... unselfish decisions. Steffy, on the other hand, has consistently. I mean, she stepped aside. She let the two of them get married, and for what? I'm almost convinced that Hope doesn't even--even begin to know how to be happy, and, well, I-I think that's true. And I think Steffy should have a chance at it.

Thomas: All right. Text me. Let me know what happens.

Steffy: Well, if you don't hear anything, I'm on the way to the airport.

Thomas: You'd really leave town for a while?

Steffy: Yeah. Yeah, I think so. What, I don't want to stay around for their joyful reunion.

Thomas: Please. You love the guy. You're gonna stick around until the very last minute doing whatever it takes to save him from Hope's evil clutch!

Steffy: Okay. Okay. Yeah.

Thomas: Not that it even matters.

Steffy: Yeah.

Thomas: Sis, unpack the bag. You're not flying anywhere tonight. Okay? Love you.

Steffy: Love you, too. (Sighs)

Liam: I mean, doesn't that make sense that you have to be home for us to work this out?

Hope: Liam, I have thought about my wedding day as long as I can remember. Can you imagine how seeing a video of you making out with another woman might ruin it?

Liam: Yes.

Hope: Can you promise that if I seem to hurt you, if I seem to do something wrong, you will find me, and you will talk to me about it first, even if Steffy is standing right next to you, ready to go?

Liam: Yes.

Hope: No more lies, even by omission?

Liam: I swear.

Hope: (Sighs) Can I trust you?

Liam: Yes, even though I understand why you don't.

Hope: Liam, a woman's wedding day is the beginning of her life with the man that she knows she is going to spend the rest of her life with. That's why all the videos, all the pictures are so important-- to document that day. I don't have that. The video that I have on my special day is of you making out and making plans with your ex-wife in our honeymoon suite. I can't just pretend I didn't see that.

Liam: How do I fix it?

Hope: You can't. We need... we need a fresh start. (Sighs) We need a new beginning. Liam... if you want us... (Sighs) Let me plan another wedding. (Sighs) I'm not talking about some big grand gesture. I don't want anything like that. I don't want to fly halfway across the world. I just want a ceremony that feels... truthful, something small where we can gather the family. Maybe have it at Eric and Stephanie's. I don't know. I-I don't. But I do know that I need this. I need a day that I can look back on with joy.

Liam: Listen, I want our marriage to start off right, Hope, and if that-- if it means forgetting about Italy, then--

Hope: Here's what I needed-- a promise of honesty, understanding why I need to erase that day, and to trust that you mean to commit your life to me and only me forever. And you gave me that. Liam, I understand your need for me to come home, and I will. I will. But I mean, this gives us a chance to have a more meaningful ceremony with family-- you know, the kind that I always imagined myself having. It won't take long to plan. (Sighs) Soon this will all be over, and--and--and we will be together, okay, as husband and wife.

Liam: All right. I'm gonna... I'm gonna go, so...

Hope: Liam.

Liam: No, it's-- I understand. I-I-I get it. I want you to be happy. I want you to have your wedding. Okay?

Hope: Okay.

Eric: Maybe Hope is just too young for all this-- getting married, moving in with a man.

Ridge: It might be true.

Stephanie: Maybe Liam will realize that. Maybe he'll have the maturity and the clarity to understand that and just walk away from the whole situation with Hope.

Hope: (Sighs) (Sighs)

Hope: (Sighs)

Steffy: (Sighs)

(Car approaching)

Steffy: (Sighs)

(Car door opens)

(Car door shuts)

Steffy: Mm. (Sighs)

Liam: Hi.

Steffy: Hey. And there I was, about to leave. Hope parking the car Liam?

Liam: Um, she's staying at her mom's.

Steffy: (Clicks tongue) She's not coming back?

Liam: Not tonight.

Steffy: You told her you had enough?

Liam: (Scoffs) I love her, Steffy. I-I want to marry her. What can I say?

Steffy: But she moved out.

Liam: She didn't move out. She's--she's staying with her mom until we're married.

Steffy: How can you think there will ever be a marriage if she keeps walking out on you?

Liam: Temporarily walking out on me.

Steffy: Oh, you are so vulnerable to her.

Liam: Don't do that. Don't--

Steffy: No, you have to forget about her, Liam. You have to move on.

Liam: (Sighs)

Steffy: It's time, Liam. Let her go.

Liam: (Sighs)
