Liam: (Sighs) Hi.

Hope: Hey.

Liam: Um... you were missed here last night. When are you coming home?

Hope: I don't know.

Liam: (Sighs) Okay, but just so you know, I'm not giving up on this. And you don't-- I-I get what you're doing. You don't have to stay here, but can you just come over so we can talk?

Hope: I can't, Liam. I just need some time.

Liam: (Sighs)

[Liam remembering]

Steffy: (Sighs) You know, maybe--maybe it's for the best. I supported your marriage before. I took a step back and--and let you have a chance with your relationship.

Liam: (Sighs)

Steffy: But then she walks out on you again because of this simple misunderstanding? It's time to let her go, Liam.

(Knock on door)

Ridge: Hey, did you hear from Thomas?

Steffy: Hey. Uh, yeah. Yeah. I just talked to him. He's, um, down at the courthouse. He said he and Caroline may have found something that could help Marcus's case.

Ridge: Good. (Sighs) Maybe they can hopefully get him out of jail.

Steffy: Right. Yeah. You know, um... Thomas and Caroline-- they're good together. Yeah. A lot like Liam and me.

Ridge: Steffy, um, there's something you need to know.

Steffy: Dad, I know. Hope walked out on Liam. He told me that last night.

Man: Mr. Barber, I trust we're here for a good reason.

Justin: Uh, yes, Sir. Thank you for scheduling this emergency hearing, Sir.

Man: Well, don't make me sorry. We'll get started as soon as the defendant arrives.

Justin: Indeed.

Dayzee: Gosh, I hope this works.

Thomas: Dayzee, just trust us. This whole case is about to be blown wide open.

Dayzee: I sure hope you're right.

Caroline: No, its good, Dayzee. It's--it's really, really good.

Dayzee: (Sighs) (Sighs)

Marcus: What's going on, Pop?

Justin: We're about to get you out of here.

Marcus: How are you gonna do that? What, did the judge change his mind or something? Did I make bail?

Thomas: No, man, better. We've got new evidence.

Caroline: Proving that you didn't hit Anthony.

Marcus: Look, what are you guys talking about? All right, I really do appreciate everything you guys are doing, but I'm not gonna sit up there and lie, either. I hit him, okay? I did.

Thomas: No. Marcus, you didn't.

Hope: (Sighs)

Brooke: Hi, Honey.

Hope: Hi. Morning.

Brooke: I made you triple espresso with rice milk.

Hope: (Sighs) (Chuckles) Oh, thank you.

Brooke: (Giggles)

Hope: I, uh, I didn't sleep much last night.

Brooke: I know. I heard you up in the middle of the night.

Hope: Yeah. (Sighs)

Brooke: You know, I think you'd sleep better if you were at home with your husband.

Hope: No. I'm just--I'm not ready to go back there yet.

Ridge: You were with Liam last night?

Steffy: I just... went over to check up on him.

Ridge: Mm-hmm.

Steffy: Daddy! I'm--I'm not gonna lie. There's no secret. I... I still love Liam. I do. And once again, Hope walks out on him. (Sighs) But she does it all the time. And I get that she's hurt. I know she is. But she's overreacting. She's being way too hard on Liam.

Bill: Oh, there he is. What's with you not answering the phone?

Liam: Uh, just kind of in a mood to be alone.

Bill: Well, snap out of it. Justin's gonna be at the courthouse all day. I need you at the office.

Liam: Oh. How is Marcus's case going?

Bill: Not well. Judge wouldn’t let him out on bond. He spent the night in jail.

Liam: Ooh, that's gotta suck.

Bill: Yeah, I would say, uh, "Suck" would be the appropriate word. But you know what? Justin is a good lawyer. He'll get him out. Uh, you should be down at the courthouse getting your paperwork signed and making your marriage legal.

Liam: Yeah, I don't-- I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon.

Bill: What do you mean?

Liam: Well, or one thing, Hope tore up the papers.

Bill: Why the hell did she do that?

Liam: (Sighs) 'Cause she's gone, Dad. She didn't even stay here last night.

Bill: She walked out on you?

Steffy: I tried supporting Hope and Liam, but I can't do it anymore. I am done supporting their relationship. I mean, every time something goes wrong, Hope just walks out?

Ridge: Sweetheart, she's still growing up. She has a lot of maturing to do.

Steffy: Well, then, she shouldn't be in a marriage. She can't give Liam what he needs. She's messed up. But there's no surprise there, because she's a Logan, so...(Sighs) Sorry. Hey, do you, um... do you believe in destiny?

Ridge: More or less.

Steffy: Okay. So I think everything that happened in Italy was-- everything that's happened it's--it's--its fate. You know, first there was... the, you know, "Letter" from Hope's dad, that misunderstanding that brought Liam and me together in the hotel room. And then there was the tablet that recorded our whole conversation. And now we find out that their marriage isn't legal.

Ridge: A lot has happened.

Steffy: And I think they're all signs. I used to think Liam and I were meant to be. Now I think I'm right.

Ridge: Time will tell. Time will tell.

Bill: Unbelievable. I finally warm up to her, and this is the thanks I get?

Liam: You--you know you have a talent for making other people's problems about you?

Bill: You know how hard it was for me to accept her, to welcome her into the family with open arms.

Liam: I know that. Just--

Bill: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I... I apologized. That's not something that I do with a lot of regularity. I poured my heart out at the wedding.

Liam: Well, this was a good talk. Thank you so much for stopping by.

Bill: Hope's gonna screw this up. (Inhales sharply) (Sighs)

Liam: You know you sound like Steffy. This is exactly what she said last night.

Bill: Steffy was here?

Liam: Uh, yeah, but nothing happened. I mean...

Bill: Good. That's probably for the best. (Sighs) Hope loves you, Liam. Everything's gonna be fine. She's gonna cool off, calm down. She'll think this through, and she will be back here today, all right? Get some pants on and get to the office.

Liam: (Sighs) Drive safe.

Hope: How am I supposed to get past seeing Liam with Steffy? I don't know how, and I don't know if I'm even supposed to be in love with him or not.

Brooke: Honey, he's your husband. And you do love him. You just have to find a way to understand and find forgiveness.

Hope: (Sighs)

Marcus: What are you guys all talking about, okay? I was there. I was texting on the phone. I hit Anthony.

Caroline: Just wait and see.

Man: All right, let's get started. Mr. Barber, you mind telling us why we're here this morning?

Justin: Certainly, your honor. I would like to formally submit new evidence to the case...

Woman: Your honor, the state hasn't had a chance to look over this new evidence.

Justin: That exonerates my client.

Thomas: May I address the court?

Man: And you are?

Thomas: Thomas Forrester. This is Caroline Spencer. We're here on behalf of Marcus Forrester.

Man: Go on.

Thomas: We have evidence here that proves Marcus's innocence.

Caroline: He did not hit Anthony Walker.

Marcus: Yeah, no, I'm sorry, my friends--I--

Justin: We are asking that the court simply consider the new evidence, Sir.

Woman: This is a waste of time. The defendant admitted he was behind the wheel.

Thomas: He was behind the wheel, but as you'll see, his vehicle did not touch Mr. Walker.

Caroline: Please, your honor, will you please just take a look at it?

Man: All right. (Sighs) I'll allow it.

Caroline: (Sighs)

Justin: Thomas.

Thomas: We became suspicious when we went to pick up Marcus's car. And the mechanic told us that the only damage to the vehicle was a-a flat tire and a broken front rim-- nothing else. There was no sign of any other impact.

Caroline: And then we were driving past the location where the accident occurred, right outside Dayzee's coffee house, and we hit a pothole, just like Marcus did that night.

Thomas: We started to wonder-- maybe Marcus didn't hit Anthony after all. But luckily, there are security cameras outside of Dayzee's, so we took a look at the footage, and this is what we found. (Clicks keyboard key) Here you can see Marcus's car, a silver S.U.V. right there-- his car hits the pothole, and his car stops dead in the street. You'll notice this other car-taillights-- right ahead of him. Let me rewind it for you. Okay. (Clicking keyboard keys) Now here we see Anthony stepping off the curb. Now there's the other car. That other car does not stop for Anthony. It hits him and drives off.

Man: Uh, rewind that. Let me see that again.

(Keyboard keys clicking)

Man: Huh. What do you know? They're right.

Woman: Looks like a hit-and-run.

Man: Mm.

Marcus: So I didn't hit Anthony?

Caroline: No.

Marcus: So the impact that I did hit, it was caused by a pothole...

Dayzee: (Sighs)

Marcus: So I didn't hit Anthony.

Dayzee: (Chuckles)

Marcus: Oh, thank God for that.

Dayzee: (Sighs)

Marcus: Pop. Are you trying to kiss me, man?

All: (Laughing)

Dayzee: Oh, my God, Babe. You didn't do it. You're innocent.

Marcus: I didn't do it, Baby. I didn't do it. I'm coming home.

Brooke: Hope, walking out and tearing up those marriage documents, that's a little much. I know you're in pain, but I just wish you wouldn't overreact like that.

Hope: I'm not overreacting, considering the circumstances. But I am doing what's right for me. We all know what happens when I don't do that. I-I lose myself. I've spun completely out of control before...

Brooke: I know.

Hope: And I'm--I'm not gonna do that to myself or to anybody else again.

Brooke: Honey, it is different now. You're married.

Hope: Well, not in the state of California, so this marriage doesn't really count.

Brooke: (Scoffs) How can you say that?

Hope: Because I don't want it to, not now, not anymore.

Brooke: Honey, marriage isn't always easy. I know from experience. I mean, Ridge and I have been through some really tough times, and we've learned how to deal with the adversity, how to forgive, and how to love each other, even if times are rough.

Hope: It just hurts so bad.

Brooke: I know.

Hope: (Inhales sharply)

Brooke: I know. Not all marriages are perfect right away. It takes a little time to find that solid ground. But you keep going, because you know it's worth it.

Hope: (Inhales sharply)

Brooke: Please just go home. Go home and be with your husband.

(Knock on door)

Liam: Uh, Dad, did I not tell you to drive safe? I was gonna see you later at... work.

Steffy: You know, I've been called a lot of things, but I don't think I've been called "Dad." I don't really think it suits me.

Liam: Get in here.

Steffy: I hope you don't mind me stopping by. I-I saw Hope's car wasn't in the driveway.

Liam: Yeah, she, uh, she didn't come home last night.

Steffy: What? I'm sorry.

Liam: Nice of you to come check up on me.

Steffy: Well, yeah, I was just, uh, I was in the neighborhood.

Liam: (Chuckles) Yeah.

Steffy: Yeah.

Liam: Uh, I should probably get dressed and go to work.

Steffy: Yeah, I think it's a terrible idea.

Liam: Why?

Steffy: Why?

Liam: Yeah.

Steffy: Because it is beautiful out. Look at the sun. You know what I think we should do? You know what I think? I think we should go for a walk on the beach.

Liam: (Scoffs) No, I gotta--I gotta get to the office.

Steffy: Come on. Live a little.

Liam: (Sighs)

Steffy: Remember, we used to do this when we lived together, and every time you were stressed out, you would go for a walk on the beach.

Liam: Walk on the beach.

Steffy: Come on. Works like a charm.

Liam: You may be right. (Sighs)

Steffy: I know. Come on, Cowboy. (Chuckles)

Liam: All right, here we go.

Steffy: Hee hee! (Giggles)

Liam: (Chuckles)

Hope: It's not that I like being away from Liam. I love him. But I also know that this is not going to be resolved in a day, and I-I just have to go at my own pace.

Brooke: (Sighs) Okay.

Hope: (Inhales sharply)

Brooke: I love you. You're welcome to stay here as long as you need.

Hope: (Sniffles)

Steffy: (Laughs) Oh, my! Where did that wave come from?

Liam: I don't know, but it was hilarious.

Steffy: What?

Liam: I'm sorry. I'm sorry.

Steffy: Oh!

Liam: But you're--you're-- you're walking on the beach, and you're talking away-- talking, talking, talking, talking, talking, talking, soaked!

Steffy: Oh, really? And then you're just-- just laughing. The wave hits me, and I'm drenched, and you didn't give me a warning.

Liam: Well, I--well, I-I didn't--I didn't see it coming, either. I just... (Clears throat)

Steffy: Liar. Liar. Liar.

Liam: I-I... (Chuckles) A lot of things lately I didn't see coming.

Man: Mr. Forrester, you're a very lucky man. You were texting while driving. It's a miracle you didn't hit Mr. Walker. But Ms. Ingles and I agree that the evidence on the video clearly shows that it was not your vehicle. Another driver committed the--the crime. So I am, uh, dropping the charges of reckless aggravated driving, but I'm issuing a fine and a citation for texting while driving. Put the phone away, Mr. Forrester.

Marcus: (Chuckles)

Man: Case is dismissed.

Marcus: Thank you, your honor, so much, really.

Justin: Thank you, Sir.

Marcus: Really, really appreciate that.

Man: You're welcome.

Marcus: Ahh. (Sighs) Thank you.

Dayzee: (Chuckles)

Marcus: Pop.

Justin: Congratulations. (Laughing) I love you, man.

Marcus: Thank you, man. Really, everything you've done, man, really.

Justin: Oh! Oh, my.

Marcus: I love you, too.

Justin: Man, don't forget to thank these two.

Marcus: Hmm? Yes. Thomas, Caroline...

Dayzee: (Sniffles)

Marcus: Words can't express how much I really appreciate you both. But thank you, really.

Caroline: We just wanted to help.

Marcus: (Chuckles)

Thomas: Well, now you can enjoy being newlyweds.

Dayzee: Yes.

Marcus: Oh, you-- you're damn right.

Caroline: (Laughs)

Marcus: Oh.

Caroline: I am so thrilled for them.

Thomas: Yeah, we did pretty good.

Caroline: Yes, we did. We make a very good team.

Thomas: I was just thinking the same thing.

Caroline: Were you?

Thomas: Yeah.

Caroline: (Chuckles)

Dayzee: (Sighs) (Sighs) You're free. (Chuckles) Now I get to take you home.

Marcus: Man, I have missed you so much.

Dayzee: Yeah.

Marcus: All I've been thinking about is you and Rosey...

Dayzee: (Sighs)

Marcus: My wife and my little girl, and what I would do when I get home to you guys.

Dayzee: (Sniffles)

Marcus: And I promise you I'm gonna be the husband that I said I would, and I guarantee you that. I love you so much.

Dayzee: I love you.

Marcus: I love you. I love you.

Dayzee: (Sighs) (Sniffles)
