Katie: Oh, I am so excited. We're gonna find out if we're having a boy or a girl.

Bill: Well, just so it's healthy, huh?

Katie: Well, that's what the ultrasound is for-- to make sure that everything is fine.

Bill: With the baby.

Katie: Yes. It will measure for size and growth and the heartbeat-- everything.

Bill: Yeah, and what about the mommy?

Katie: Everything is okay. I've had no problems. (Chuckles)

Bill: (Sighs) So, uh, Doctor, the--the ultrasound-- completely safe, right?

Dr. Caspary: For both mother and baby.

Katie: See? There's nothing to worry about. In a few moments, you're gonna see our baby for the first time it's so exciting. We're gonna know if we're growing a little boy or a little girl Spencer in here.

Bill: (Chuckles)

Katie: So what do you think? Any thoughts? Boy? Girl? (Laughs) I'm so excited. I can't wait.

Hope: (Laughs) No! No! No!

Liam: Oh, no. No, no, no.

Hope: Okay, you got your payback! You got it!

Liam: Oh, you're gonna push me into the pool, huh?

Hope: No! No!

Liam: Whoa!

Hope: (Grunts)

Liam: (Laughs)

Hope: How about I make it up to you?

Liam: Yeah?

Hope: Yeah. (Chuckles) (Sighs) You're right. This is a much nicer room than yours. My parents knew how to do it right.

Liam: Your parents, uh?

Hope: Yeah, this was theirs.

Liam: No, I know. I just--I just, uh... I haven't really heard you call them that in a while.

Hope: Oh, yeah. Yeah. (Sighs) I have been... (Sighs) Really hard on Ridge lately. He said some really beautiful things at our wedding. And it meant so much when he walked me through the town to our wedding spot, and he put my hand in yours. And then, of course, after Deacon showed up before the wedding, you know, I just... I'm seeing a lot of things differently.

Liam: It sounds like Deacon had a bigger effect on you than he'll ever know.

Taylor: If Bill's responsible for Deacon Sharpe showing up at that wedding, if he did something to get that man out of prison illegally, I want to know what it is.

Steffy: Mom, stop jumping to conclusions.

Taylor: Don't protect Bill, Steffy.

Steffy: I'm not. I totally blasted him. I was furious.

Taylor: Why?

Steffy: Deacon Sharpe showing up started a whole chain of events.

Taylor: There is more that happened than what you told your father and me, isn't there?

Steffy: Yes, there is.

Taylor: Does it have to do with Bill?

Steffy: It's about Liam and me.

Bill: All I really want to know...

Katie: (Sighs)

Bill: Is that wife is going to survive this pregnancy, and nobody can seem to give me that guarantee.

Dr. Caspary: There are no guarantees for any pregnancy. And yes, there are additional risks...

Bill: (Sighs)

Dr. Caspary: For women who've had heart transplants. Within the last 10 or 15 years, it's changed. I gave you the packet of information.

Katie: Mm-hmm. Yeah.

Bill: Yeah, and I've read it all-- maternal longevity, the effect of immunosuppressive drugs, not to mention prematurity, low birth weight. It's not a real pretty picture, Doc.

Dr. Caspary: Why don't I give you a few minutes?

Katie: Yeah.

Dr. Caspary: I'll be back.

Katie: Honey, there's nothing to worry about. There have been many, many healthy babies born to women with my condition.

Bill: Katie, if anything happened to you--

Katie: Nothing bad's gonna happen.

Bill: (Sighs) I'm scared. I can't even think about losing you.

Hope: I'm sorry things got so crazy.

Liam: Hey, I mean, it wasn't your fault Deacon showed up.

Hope: But it must have been horrible for you, waiting there at the church with everyone standing around wondering.

Liam: (Chuckles) Well, at least you got to ride in one of those ape trucks.

Hope: (Laughs) Yes, that was really, really awesome...

Liam: (Laughing)

Hope: In my wedding dress in the back of that dirty little truck. Oh, and then hopping out and running when there was a road closure. Liam, I swear, it was like one of those dreams where you were trying to get somewhere, but you just can't.

Liam: Yeah, I know. Yeah.

Hope: But when I finally did get there, you were gone.

Liam: Yeah, looking for you.

Hope: I'm sorry. But you know what? It was perfect. That day was perfect. I mean, I wouldn't change anything. Would you?

Steffy: You have to promise that what I'm about to tell you will not leave this room. Treat me like one of your patients.

Taylor: Yes, I will.

Steffy: Everybody was... was at the church for the wedding... and Bill called me. And he told me that Hope never showed. She wasn't at her own wedding. And then Liam pulled up, and he didn't see me, but I could tell that he was looking for Hope. So ... I followed him back to his room. And we were alone there. I thought everything changed... forever.

Dr. Caspary: I'm ready to do the ultrasound. Now if you'd rather not know...

Bill: No, its okay, Doc. Let's see what we're bringing into this world.

Katie: (Chuckles)

Liam: Hope, you know, um... what happened before the wedding, all the craziness, yeah, there--there are some things I would change.

Hope: Well, of course. Of course, there are, like--I mean, like the note that was from my father you thought I wrote. I-I can't imagine how painful that must have been.

Liam: Yeah, that... (Sighs) That did mess me up a little it.

Hope: I could never leave like that. But I understand why you reacted the way you did. I'm just so glad I got to you before any real damage was done. (Laughs)

Liam: (Laughs)

Hope: But it's over now. That's--that's done. We're married. You and I are married, okay?

Liam: Yeah. (Chuckles)

Hope: There's no more drama. Even Steffy accepts it. I really wish she had come to the wedding. You know what? I think I'm gonna call her. I just want to see how she's doing.

Taylor: So Liam... went back to his hotel room, and you followed him.

Steffy: There was a letter from Hope's father. It said that... "I love you, but I have to go, and I'll never see you again." Liam thought Hope wrote that letter to him.

Taylor: Oh.

Steffy: Liam was devastated. And I-I-I couldn't believe it myself. And yet it had happened before when Hope left him the first time and broke off the engagement. I was there with Liam. And now I was here with him again. We were together in that hotel, and my heart was breaking. And... (Sighs) He was in so much pain I tried to comfort him the best that I could. And then he looked at me, and the things that he said, the things that he did-- nothing had changed for us. And that's when I knew that we belonged together.

Taylor: So you and Liam... were back at his hotel room...

Steffy: Yeah. Um... Bill called. (Sighs) We were supposed to go to the airport and fly back to L.A.

Taylor: You and Liam?

Steffy: Obviously, that never happened.

Taylor: What did happen?

(Cell phone rings)

Steffy: (Sighs) (Sniffles)

(Ring)

Steffy: (Sighs) It's Hope. Hello? (Sighs)

Hope: Steffy, hi.

Steffy: Where are you?

Hope: Oh, um, still in Italy, actually. How are you? I heard about your fall.

Steffy: Yeah. Pretty clumsy.

Hope: Are you okay?

Steffy: You don't have to worry about me. I mean, you're on your honeymoon.

Hope: Um, Liam says "Hi."

Steffy: So how long are you gonna be there?

Hope: Uh, we leave tomorrow.

Steffy: Kind of short.

Hope: I know. I know. I wish we could stay longer, but I mean, we--we moved into my mom's suite, which is really great. It was Liam's idea. Um... anyway, look, I just wanted to touch base with you. A lot of really crazy stuff happened on our wedding day. I don't know if you know all the details.

Steffy: I know enough. (Sighs)

Hope: Are you sure you're okay? I mean, you just sound a little--

Steffy: I'm good. Look, e-enjoy the rest of your honeymoon, and, uh, have a safe flight back, okay? Bye. (Sighs)

Taylor: You were about to tell me something.

Steffy: (Sniffles) When I was in in the hotel room with Liam... he told me that he loved me.

Taylor: (Sighs)

Katie: This is so exciting. (Chuckles)

Dr. Caspary: Okay, ready?

Katie: Yes. All right. Place your last bets. Boy or girl?

Bill: Healthy.

Katie: (Chuckles)

Dr. Caspary: Are you sure you want to know the sex of the child?

Bill: Yes, we're sure.

Katie: Yes. Yes, we are. Get the machine out.

Dr. Caspary: Now there's always a chance that the-- the baby might not be positioned right, you know.

Bill: Well, if we see a little sword necklace, we'll know it's a boy.

Katie: (Chuckles) Oh, God.

Dr. Caspary: (Laughs) Let's take a look.

Katie: (Sighs)

Bill: Okay, I could use a little help here.

Katie: (Chuckles)

Bill: What--what are we-- what are we looking at? Anybody?

Dr. Caspary: Look, there's the heartbeat.

Bill: No way.

Katie: Yeah. That's our baby's heartbeat.

Bill: (Chuckles)

Katie: (Laughs)

Dr. Caspary: There's the head.

Katie: Mm-hmm.

Dr. Caspary: And there's the arm, you see?

Bill: Yeah, well, you know what else we're looking for, right, Doc? So if it's there, find it.

Dr. Caspary: (Laughs) Ah. Looks like you're having a son.

Katie: (Chuckles) A boy. (Sniffles)

Bill: A son? We're having a son.

Katie: Mm-hmm. (Chuckles)

Dr. Caspary: Your first baby picture.

Katie: Oh, look. (Sniffles)

Dr. Caspary: Congratulations.

Katie: (Chuckles) Oh, look at his arm and his little fingers. (Chuckles)

Bill: It looks like he's sucking his thumb.

Katie: He might be. (Chuckles) Pretty awesome, isn't it?

Bill: (Chuckles) Yeah, I've never felt, uh...

Katie: What, like this? You have another son.

Bill: But I wasn't around for any of this.

Katie: (Sighs) So... you're okay now?

Bill: (Sighs) Katie, what you've done for me...

Katie: (Sighs) I didn't do it all by myself. (Chuckles)

Bill: How do you put up with me?

Katie: You're a work in progress.

Bill: I'm a better man because of you. And I'm gonna keep getting better, because now I have to.

Katie: (Chuckles)

Bill: You deserve much more than I've given you.

Katie: No, that's not true. You've given me this life that we have together and now this child.

Bill: And you've given me the ability to feel, to love-- things I wouldn't allow myself to do before, before that night you showed up in my hotel room.

Katie: (Chuckles)

Bill: I'll always be there for you, Katie. I didn't realize until today exactly how much courage it took for you--to bring this child into the world. I was focused on the possibility that I would lose you... and what that would do to me. But the strength that it took for you to... ignore all the risks... the faith you had in yourself, in--in me, in us... (Sighs) Nobody's ever given me anything except for you. And this baby you're carrying-- our baby...

Katie: (Chuckles)

Bill: I owe you my love. I owe you my life... everything.

Katie: (Sighs)

[Steffy remembering]

Liam: (Sighs)

Steffy: You know, just put a smile on your face and make this a day you and Hope will never forget. Don't think of me, okay? Don't think about me. Don't think about what happened, because you know what you need to do. Go marry her, Liam.

Liam: I love you, you know?

Steffy: (Sniffles) (Chuckles) I know you do. (Sighs)

Taylor: Liam told you he loved you on his wedding day?

Steffy: The wedding wasn't happening, at least that's what we thought. Liam was finished with Hope.

Taylor: Then what?

Steffy: And then... (Sighs) Hope came back from the church.

Taylor: She walked in on you?

Steffy: No. She knocked. And... she called out for Liam. So I, uh... (Sighs) I hid in the bathroom... and I could hear her talking to Liam, explaining that she didn't write the note. Her father wrote it to her.

Taylor: Oh, my gosh. That is so awful. I-I can't even believe it.

Steffy: No, she-- she didn't know I was listening.

Taylor: (Sighs)

Steffy: But I heard everything-- the love in her voice, the relief that it was all a misunderstanding. And then she left, ready to get married. She had no idea I was there. Hope was in her wedding gown. And a few minutes before that, Liam pledged his life to me. If we had left-- if we had jumped on Bill's jet, we probably would have been married by now.

Taylor: (Sighs)

Steffy: Hope thinks it was the most perfect day of her life. If she only knew what really happened.

Taylor: Do I know everything that happened? You were alone... in a hotel room... on their wedding day. What did you and Liam do?
