Steffy: Hope didn't write this letter.

Liam: No. Her father wrote it. (Sighs)

Steffy: (Sighs)

Liam: He came here to see her, and, uh...

Steffy: (Sniffles)

Liam: That's why she didn't show up at the church. And he wrote her that letter to tell her... that he was leaving. (Sighs)

Steffy: But you thought this was a letter from Hope to you. (Sighs) We both did.

Ridge: So how did that happen, Bill-- Hope's father suddenly showing up here in Puglia?

Bill: I don't know, Ridge. How did it happen?

Ridge: Just a coincidence, I suppose.

Bill: Well, obviously not. Somehow he new his daughter was getting married today.

Ridge: Exactly. Somehow he knew.

Hope: Gee, Bill.

Ridge: Sweetheart, what's wrong?

Hope: Um, where's Mom? I-I need to get ready for the wedding.

Ridge: She's in our room waiting for you.

Hope: Oh, good. Um, okay, something really crazy happened, and I don't have time to explain right now, but Liam and I are getting married at Polignano a Mare right away. Okay, great.

Brooke: Your father left you a letter?

Hope: Mm-hmm. But Liam thought that I wrote it to him. (Sighs)

Brooke: What did it say?

Hope: That he loves me but that he had to leave. I don't know. I-I guess he just didn't want to mess things up.

Brooke: (Sighs) Are you sure? Are you sure that he's gone?

Hope: Yeah, he's gone... for now, anyway.

Deacon: I got the feeling that you know what's going on. So, uh, did it work? I mean, did I ruin my daughter's big day? Spencer wants his son to marry Steffy Forrester, doesn't he?

Steffy: Hope didn't leave you at the altar.

Liam: I thought she did. When I read the letter, I thought--

Steffy: She didn't write the letter. It was never meant for you, Liam. (Whispers) Hope would never leave you.

Liam: I-I don't... (Sighs)

Steffy: It's your wedding day, Liam. It's your wedding day. Hope is getting ready. You know--you know what? You need to get ready, too. (Sighs)

Liam: I...

Steffy: You know, just put a smile on your face and make this a day you and Hope will never forget. Don't think of me, okay? Don't think about me. Don't think about what happened, because you know what you need to do. Go marry her, Liam.

Liam: I love you, you know.

Steffy: (Sniffles) (Chuckles) I know you do. (Sniffles)

Hope: Mom, I-I'm still getting married today. Nothing has changed.

Brooke: Except that your father is back on the scene...

Hope: (Sighs)

Brooke: And who knows what that means? Deacon is trouble.

Hope: You know what? Mom, we don't have to discuss this right now. I have got a wedding to go to, and this time, I'm not going to be late.

Brooke: (Laughs)

Hope: Okay?

Brooke: Okay.

Hope: (Sighs) Thank you.

Deacon: You should have seen the look on her face when she saw me. All those years that I wasn't around, I didn't matter, you know, all the--all the times that I didn't call.

Alison: She's an exceptional young lady.

Deacon: Yeah, well, obviously she's not exceptional enough for Spencer, right?

Alison: Bill's a complicated man.

Deacon: He got under your skin, didn't he?

Alison: He's my boss.

Deacon: Well, it would seem that he's, uh, not just your boss, but my boss, too. I mean... (Sighs) This is nuts. I had--I had no idea what to expect. And--and the door opens, and then there she is. There's my daughter. And she's--God, she's just so beautiful, and I don't know. I mean, you know, she could have been so angry about so many things, and there was no guilt trip. She just acted like it was the greatest thing in the world to see me.

Hope: (Sighs)

(Knock on door)

Hope: (Sighs) I'm ready. What do you think?

Ridge: Well, considering you rode in that truck all the way to the church, then ran up those hills, I'd say you look pretty damn spectacular.

Hope: (Chuckles) Oh, well, hey, what's a wedding day without a little drama? (Chuckles)

Ridge: Okay, I'm gonna ask you one more time, no pressure, no guilt. We can do this exactly the way you want it done. But I would mean a hell of a lot to me if I can walk you down that aisle.

Steffy: How dare you! Get off of me. (Sighs)

Ridge: If it's not what you want, I understand, but I have to ask one more time.

Hope: After everything's that happened, are you sure it's still what you want?

Ridge: It would give me more joy than I can even tell you.

Hope: (Sighs) Well, what about Steffy? I mean, she--she's been really supportive, but I would never want to do anything that would hurt her relationship with you, and I'm just afraid that if she saw you giving me away to Liam--

Ridge: No, I know. I was worried about that, too.

Hope: (Sighs)

Ridge: But Steffy's accepted this. She's seen what we've all seen, Sweetheart-- that you are truly in love with Liam.

Hope: (Chuckles)

Ridge: So what do you say?

Hope: I would love for you to give me away to Liam. (Giggles) (Sniffles) (Sighs)

Steffy: It was all you-- Deacon, that note.

Bill: I did it for you.

Steffy: For me? Torturing Hope? Manipulating your own son?

Bill: I gave you and Liam a chance. If you had both gotten on that plane--

Steffy: Do you want to know what happened when we were alone, Bill?

Bill: (Sighs)

Steffy: I told him to marry Hope. I wanted to win him straight up, not this way.

Bill: (Sighs)

Steffy: You know what? You are a damn bully, and I will not be a part of this. I had him, Bill. I had him. And if you hadn't interfered, things would have worked out for us. But you just messed everything up. You know, just accept Hope into your stupid family. I have.

(Knock on door)

Liam: Hey.

Brooke: (Sighs) How's everything in here?

Liam: Uh... good to go. (Sniffles)

Brooke: (Chuckles) It's been quite a day, hasn't it? (Sighs)

Liam: Yeah. Yeah, it has. How's Hope?

Brooke: She's great. (Sighs) It was just kind of strange that her father showed up. I'm just sorry it put you in an awkward position, waiting at the church for so long.

Liam: Yeah, I-I I mean, the--the whole thing freaked me out a little at first, but, uh, you know, then Hope explained what happened, and it was--it was okay. (Sighs)

Brooke: Steffy's been... (Sighs) Been amazing. She's been wonderfully supportive.

Liam: Yeah. Yeah. I-I never expected how much.

Brooke: She does want you and Hope to be happy. And you will be. (Chuckles)

Liam: (Chuckles)

Brooke: I have no doubt about that. Welcome to the family, Liam. (Giggles)

Liam: Thank you.

Hope: Hi.

Bill: Hi. Can I come in? I'm not gonna keep you long.

Hope: Uh... yeah. Sure.

Bill: You and my son have, uh, been through a lot. And I haven't exactly been supportive.

Hope: Really? (Chuckles)

Bill: I love my son, Hope. I guess that's my only defense. I want this day to be special for both of you.

Hope: Wait, I'm sorry. Did I hear you right?

Bill: Hard to believe, I know.

Hope: Look, Bill, I know that you don't like me.

Bill: It's not that I don't like you--

Hope: No, come on. You want Liam to be with Steffy. You don't think I'm good enough for him.

Bill: He loves you, Hope.

Hope: I know that. I'm just waiting for you to accept it.

Bill: I accept it. I don't want to be at odds with my son, and I don't want to be at odds with his wife. So if you'll accept it... (Sighs) Welcome to the Spencer clan.

Hope: (Sighs) (Sighs)

Alison: Bill's plan-- it failed.

Deacon: (Chuckles)

Alison: There's gonna be a wedding after all. Liam is marrying your daughter.

Deacon: Oh, how about that? I blew it, huh? (Chuckles) Looks like I'm going back to the slammer, huh?

Alison: Not if I have something to say about it.

Deacon: Why, you gonna put in a good word for me?

Alison: Maybe I have a soft spot for bad boys. (Chuckles)

Deacon: Well, now who's badder than me, except maybe that boss of yours? You know, you do a hell of a job for that guy. I hope he's told you how much he appreciates you.

Alison: Bill's a man of few words.

Deacon: Well, it doesn't take a lot of words to say something like that.

Alison: But he has his own way of showing his appreciation.

Deacon: Mm. Well, I hope he does, because you deserve it.

Alison: You barely know me.

Deacon: I know enough. Sei veramente una bella donna.

Alison: What does that mean?

Deacon: It means that you are a very beautiful woman.

Alison: Don't use me, Deacon. I'll help you if I can, but don't use me.

Liam: There's a lot of people here. Why did Father Fontana ask us to wait here?

Francesco: Everyone loves a wedding in Polignano a Mare.

Liam: (Sighs)

Bill: Look, I want to talk to you a second.

Liam: Yeah, what's up?

Bill: It's about Hope.

Liam: (Groans) Dad, I'm--

Bill: No, no, no, no. R-relax. Relax. Relax. I talked to her. I welcomed her into the family. You two deserve this day more than you realize. So... let's get you hitched, huh?

Liam: (Sighs) (Chuckles)

Brooke: You know, Hope is really excited about you giving her away.

Ridge: I feel the same way. I'm happy for you.

Hope: Thank you.

Father Fontana: Carissimi, now I can finally tell you why I've asked you all to come here and wait. The people of Polignano a Mare want to welcome our beautiful bride and groom. You see here, we have a tradition. A young couple that's about to marry walks through the streets of the town followed by the people of Polignano blessing them for a long and happy marriage.

(Cheering)
