Liam: You--you sure?

Hope: Um, aren't you?

Liam: Yeah--oh, no, yeah, this is it.

Hope: (Gasps)

Liam: Tomorrow, this is where it all goes down.

Hope: Yeah. Uh...

Liam: Hmm?

Hope: Next time we kiss here, it'll be as husband and wife. (Squeals) Ooh, what time is it we have to meet Father Fontana.

Liam: Oh, no, you're right. We gotta go. We gotta get going.

Hope: Oh! Andiamo. Andiamo.

Brooke: Only you, you know that?

Ridge: (Chuckles)

Brooke: Only you would think of a fake giant olive. (Giggles)

Ridge: Well...

Brooke: (Sighs)

Ridge: You like what was inside?

Brooke: I love it. And I love you.

Ridge: You think we can handle it... getting married yet another time?

Brooke: Well, it is kind of like a habit for us, right? A habit that we can't break.

Ridge: Yeah.

Ridge: I like it.

Brooke: Me, too.

Deacon: I know what I'm supposed to do, Spencer.

Bill: Hope will be alone before she leaves for the ceremony.

Deacon: I got it. Enough already.

Bill: You do not leave here. I saw Ridge and Brooke heading for the olive groves. They cannot see you.

Deacon: (Sighs)

Alison: What if they see you? You can't keep popping in like this. Liam and Hope will wonder where you've gone.

Bill: They're meeting with the priest.

Alison: You said Brooke wants them to get married in Polignano a Mare?

Bill: Execution is the key. This has to come off like clockwork.

Deacon: Oh, wait, are we finally gonna have some fun? Hey, could we synchronize our watches, please?

Bill: You're a real comedian bozo, but I promise you you will not be laughing if you screw this up.

Deacon: Oh, I won't be laughing at all, because it's not funny. Your big scheme here, this is really gonna screw my kid up.

Brooke: (Giggling) Wow. (Sighs) What an Italian holiday.

Ridge: Mm.

Brooke: A wedding and a proposal.

Ridge: Don't forget the giant olive.

Brooke: I really thought you were losing it, all this crazy talk about olives.

Ridge: I knew, eventually, you'd probably catch on.

Brooke: (Giggles) You and your surprises. (Kiss)

Liam: Alberobello.

Hope: (Chuckles)

Liam: You know, your mom said all these houses are called trulli.

Hope: They're adorable.

Liam: Yeah. Well, they were used to trick tax collectors.

Hope: What?

Liam: Yeah, I guess back in the day, all this was--was forest. And this count came, and he brought his farmers with him, uh, but there were laws back then about building new towns, so none of the houses could be permanent. So instead they built these--these trulli.

Hope: Oh. Wait, they're not permanent?

Liam: Well, no, because--not back then. They didn't use mortar.

Hope: Oh.

Liam: So if the count got word that an--an inspector was coming, all of these houses could be demolished before anybody even showed up. It was like the entire town just--poof--disappeared into thin air.

Hope: Wow. I hope the Chiesa di Sant'Antonio doesn't disappear before we get there.

Liam: The what?

Hope: The--the church where we're meeting Father Fontana.

Liam: Oh.

Hope: We're almost thee. It's a trullo, too. No, it's not much farther. (Giggles)

Liam: Hmm.

Deacon: So I say "No," and I go back to jail. (Sighs)

Bill: You won't.

Deacon: Does anyone ever say "No" to you?

Alison: Nope.

Deacon: Wow, I gotta hand it to you, Dollar Bill. That is impressive. I-I mean, it--it would be impressive if it were true, but--but it isn't, is it? I mean, think about it-- your son, he proposed to my daughter, and then he came all the way here to Italy, but you brought me over here to try and stop the wedding, because--wait for it, folks-- your son just wouldn't listen to you, would he?

Bill: Damn kid-- he's got a stubborn streak. Takes after his daddy. And Hope has him snowed just like you snowed her mother.

Deacon: Just like her daddy.

Bill: Let's go over this one more time. You're gonna do what I say exactly as I say it. Hope's relationship with my son ends tomorrow.

(Knock on door)

Brooke: Come in. Steffy.

Steffy: Hey. Uh, is my dad around?

Brooke: Actually, he went to find you to talk to you. (Chuckles)

Steffy: Oh, really?

Brooke: Yeah. But you know what? Um, he's gonna be coming back here pretty soon, so why don't you just wait?

Steffy: No, it's--it's-- it's okay. I'll just, um... what you got there?

Brooke: Oh. (Sighs) This?

Steffy: Yeah. Yeah. Is it a present from my dad?

Brooke: It's a... (Sighs) It's an engagement ring, actually.

Steffy: Wow. Uh... when?

Brooke: Just a little while ago in the olive groves. It was really sweet. He hid it in a big, giant olive. (Chuckles)

Steffy: (Chuckles) Oh, um, congratulations.

Brooke: He wanted to be able to tell you himself.

Steffy: Hey, you know, we're in Italy-- home of Valentine's Day, "Romeo and Juliet," Cupid. It's one of the most romantic places in the world... unless you're me.

Brooke: Oh, Steffy, come on. Nobody's doing this to make it more difficult on you.

Steffy: No, it was my decision to come.

Brooke: I know. And Hope is really happy about that. It means a lot to her.

Steffy: Yeah. Yeah, she's a... a wonderful person. And I can see why Liam is with her. But it still hurts.

Hope: (Sighs)

Liam: (Sighs) We made it.

Hope: Oh.

Father Fontana: Buon giorno. Ah, welcome, my friends.

Hope: Oh.

Father Fontana: Hope Logan. Oh, let me look at you.

Hope: (Laughs)

Father Fontana: (Speaks Italian) I can't believe it. It seems like yesterday I came to Los Angeles, and now you're getting married.

Hope: I know. I know. Um, Father, this is my fiancé Liam Spencer.

Father Fontana: You're a lucky man.

Liam: Yes, I am.

Father Fontana: And wise enough to know it.

Liam: (Chuckles) Uh, hope tells me you're a friend of the family.

Father Fontana: Yes. I've known Ridge and Brooke since Venice many years ago.

Liam: Mm.

Father Fontana: Your mother tells me that you wish to get married in Polignano a Mare. Is that right?

Liam: Yeah.

Hope: Yes. Yeah. Um, we just came from there. It's--it's beautiful.

Father Fontana: Yeah.

Hope: But so is Alberobello.

Liam: Yeah. Yeah.

(Church bells toll)

Liam: The trulli rooftops-- I've--I've never seen anything like it in my life.

Hope: No. And this wonderful church, Sant'Antonio. (Gasps) Um... what if we got married here?

Liam: Um, I mean, uh, we just had--

Hope: I know. I know. I know we did, but think about it. Think about having our wedding in this amazing church in this wonderful town. I mean, it's a woman's prerogative to change her mind, right? Do you think we could do it? Do you think we have time to change our plans?

Father Fontana: You'd like to be married here?

Hope: It's the Church of Saint Anthony.

Liam: (Sighs)

Hope: I mean, he's the saint you pray to when you've lost something and you desperately want it back. It just feels so right.

Liam: All right. All right, I'm in. I'm in. Let's do it.

Hope: Oh, you are?

Liam: But, uh, I am not gonna be the one to tell your mom. (Chuckles)

Hope: Oh, my God.

Father Fontana: Look, Brooke will understand.

Hope: (Sighs)

Father Fontana: She's told me everything about your history, and for you to marry in the Church of Saint Anthony, one could say it's meant to be.

Hope: I'll tell her you said that.

Father Fontana: Oh, no, no, no, don't do that.

Hope: (Laughs)

Liam: (Laughs)

Hope: Okay.

Bill: Show up at the right spot at the right time, and this wedding will never happen.

Deacon: The happiest day of my kid's life ruined.

Bill: And my son's life is saved. So stay focused. I don't want any snags tomorrow.

Brooke: I'm sorry, Steffy. I know this is hard.

Steffy: I shouldn't have come.

Brooke: It's very brave of you.

Steffy: Well... (Sighs) I'm not feeling so brave right now.

Brooke: You're not alone. You do have your family. Hope wants to be your friend. So do I.

Steffy: When you and Dad get married again, you'll be my stepmom. (Sighs)

Brooke: Yeah. I know we haven't been very successful with that relationship.

Steffy: (Chuckles)

Brooke: When you and Phoebe were little, we used to be very close. But... (Sighs) You have a mom. She loves you very much. So you don't need two moms. But what you do need is somebody you can talk to.

Steffy: Except the one person I want to talk to is pretty busy right now.

Brooke: Liam can still be a part of your life. Just be happy for him. Show Hope and Liam that you're not gonna add stress to their marriage. And then I'm sure you can all be friends.

Steffy: You really want me to stay?

Brooke: I was concerned... about you. I know you came all this way, and you put on a good face and... (Sighs) I really do respect you for that but you have an opportunity here to do something that's really incredible. You could put an end to all of this tension and this conflict. Go to the wedding tomorrow and do what you came here to do.

Liam: You are full of surprises.

Hope: Oh, thank you for going along with this.

Liam: No, a woman's allowed to change her mind, especially about her wedding, as long as you don't change your mind about me. We've come a long way for this.

Hope: I'll try not to stand you up.

Liam: (Scoffs)

Hope: (Laughs)

Liam: Any jitters?

Hope: A few. You?

Liam: Uh... well, we are on top of the world up here, aren't we?

Hope: (Sighs)

Liam: And for the rest of our lives, when somebody says, Hey,, where--where did you guys get married?" We can say, "Alberobello!" Alberobello! Albero--Albero--blah-blue. Blah-blue-blow.

Hope: Ti amo. (I love you.)

Brooke: (Sighs as she recalls finding Ridge's engagement ring in a glass of champagne)

Ridge: You still haven't had any champagne.

Brooke: I do not want any champagne.

Ridge: Well, we're not leaving here until you do.

Brooke: You can be so cruel.

Brooke: Oh, Ridge. Oh, God. (Sighs)

Ridge: I couldn't find Steffy.

Brooke: You just missed her. She was looking for you, too.

Ridge: Everything all right?

Brooke: She saw the ring. (Sighs) I told her you wanted to be the one to talk to her. She's sad. Oh, she's in Italy and all alone. It's so romantic here. We knew it would be hard, but now after she saw the ring, it's even harder.

Ridge: Did you make it better?

Brooke: Yeah, I tried. (Sighs)

Ridge: Well, it must have worked unless she went back to her room to pack.

Brooke: I don't think so.

Ridge: Maybe she should if that's what she really wanted to do.

Brooke: And what good would that do? Hope and Liam go home and the whole thing starts all over again-- all the rumors and the speculation? No, if Steffy can stand up for Hope, that would be great. She could finally put an end to all of that.

Ridge: You've really thought this out, haven't you?

Brooke: Well, I don't think about you all day long every single day.

Ridge: (Laughs)

Brooke: (Laughs) (Sighs)

Ridge: (Sighs)

Brooke: But then if Steffy changes her mind, I wouldn't blame her. I couldn't stand up there and watch you get married to somebody else.

Ridge: Mm. Maybe we should just ask the stable owner to lock up all the horses then.

Brooke: Shh! Stop it. Don't you dare tempt fate. (Laughs) Hope and Liam have waited too long. Tomorrow, we are gonna have even more to celebrate. (Giggles)
