Bill: Do it, Steffy. Go to Italy and stand up for Hope.

Steffy: Bill.

Bill: I-I-I know it's asking a lot. Hope's asking a lot. But it’s the right--

Steffy: It's too soon. My divorce.

Bill: A divorce that never should have happened.

Steffy: (Sighs)

Bill: My son still loves you.

Steffy: Can you just stop, Bill, please? I can't hear that anymore.

Bill: Look, I don't care if he marries Hope in Puglia or in Timbuktu. It doesn't change the way Liam feels about you or the way you feel about him.

Steffy: And that's why I can't do this. It would be torture.

Bill: If it happens, but it might not.

Steffy: (Sighs)

Bill: Hope's history-- I mean, she tried to marry Liam once. That didn't come off, did it?

Steffy: That's because I wouldn't sign the annulment papers, Bill.

Bill: Because you believed there was still a chance for the two of you?

Steffy: Well, I was wrong.

Bill: Until the minister says they are man and wife, there is still a chance. Don't give up. Anything could happen. And you'll want to be there when it does.

Hope: Mm.

Liam: Keep this up, we'll never make it the airport.

Hope: Can you believe it, our wedding?

Liam: I know. I know.

Hope: (Squeals)

Liam: Are you sure you packed enough? Because I-I don't know.

Hope: Um, a bride has to plan for every contingency.

Liam: Really?

Hope: Yes.

Liam: Whatever happened to going with the flow?

Hope: I can be spontaneous...

Liam: Oh?

Hope: And unpredictable. (Sighs)

Liam: You can?

Hope: Uh-huh. I went to your dad, and I tried to convince him that you're not marrying such a horrible person, and if he let himself, he might actually like me.

Liam: (Clears throat) Um, how did that go?

Hope: (Clears throat) Uh, let's just say it's enough right now that he's just coming to the wedding.

Liam: Baby steps, you know?

Hope: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. I did something else unpredictable.

Liam: What?

Hope: I went to Steffy, and I asked her if she would stand up at the wedding along with my mom.

Liam: Are you kidding me? Hope... (Sighs) I don't believe you did that.

Brooke: Ridge... (Sighs) We really should be getting to the airport.

Ridge: Logan, it's the Forrester jet. I pay the pilot's salary. I don't think he's gonna leave without us.

Brooke: I know. I don't want Hope wondering.

Ridge: If I'm, uh, changing my mind about coming?

Brooke: (Sighs) Look, you're concerned for Steffy. Any father would be. You don't want to see her hurting. But its Hope and Liam's time right now. They're moving into the next chapter of their lives, and soon Steffy will, too. But Hope and Liam really need our support now.

Katie: They have mine-- always have, always will... (Chuckles)

Brooke: (Sighs)

Katie: Even though I won't be at the wedding.

Hope: (Sighs) Are you upset that I asked Steffy?

Liam: Well... why didn't you come and talk to me first?

Hope: You are upset.

Liam: No, I'm not. I just--I just... don't get it.

Hope: Well, neither did she at first

Liam: Well, yeah, can you blame her? I mean, it's kind of like rubbing salt on the wound.

Hope: Oh, and see I was so afraid that she would see it that way, but I think once I explained it to her and I really told her that it was coming from my heart--

Liam: You want peace in the family.

Hope: Yeah. She says that she accepts our marriage, and she and I used to be so close. I-I just think that it would be the best wedding present ever if we could be that way again, at least try.

Liam: She couldn't do it?

Hope: I'm still kind of hoping that something changes her mind, but I don't know what that would be.

Bill: (Sighs)

Steffy: It's almost like you're expecting something to happen.

Bill: Why wouldn't I? I mean, there's a history here, right? The Logan women and weddings-- isn't there always some sort of last-minute histrionics?

Steffy: Well, I don't intend to provide the fireworks for Hope's, so you can find somebody else.

Bill: Will you please listen to me?

Steffy: Bill, this is so difficult for me. The thought of actually being on a plane with Hope and Liam, seeing the joy in Hope's eyes, actually standing there with a smile on my face...

Bill: (Sighs)

Steffy: Just watching them pledge heir love to each other, it--it’s too much. It's too much. And if you can't understand that--

Bill: I-I-I do understand it. But there's no guarantee it's going to turn out that way. I know it's hard for you to see that right now.

Steffy: (Sighs)

Bill: Hope is not the right woman for Liam you are. He doesn't have much time to realize that, but, Steffy, it ain't over till it's over, so don't give up. Do not give up.

Ridge: That was our driver. He's putting the luggage in the car.

Katie: Please, please, please give the happy couple my best.

Brooke: I will. They're gonna miss you. You've been their big supporter.

Katie: I know, unlike my husband. But I think he's getting with the program.

Ridge: Since when?

Katie: Since Liam asked him to be best man. Bill was very moved. I know this is bittersweet for you, too. (Sighs) But I also know how much you love Hope.

Ridge: I want Steffy and Hope to be very happy.

Katie: That's what every parent wants for their children, even the ones who aren't here yet. (Chuckles)

Brooke: (Chuckles)

Ridge: Katie, you take care. You take precious care, okay?

Katie: I will. And keep an eye on my husband. I don't think he'll have a relapse, but with Bill, you never know.

Bill: Time is running out.

Steffy: It's already run out.

Bill: You did a very selfless thing, letting Liam go so he could honor his so-called commitment to Hope.

Steffy: I am not selfless. I have never been selfless. Ask anyone.

Bill: That isn't true.

Steffy: Fine. Fine. I am a saint. But I am not a masochist. Standing up for Hope when I’m still in love with Liam--

Bill: Would be excruciatingly difficult.

Steffy: (Sighs)

Bill: But look what happened when you thought it was over for you and Liam in Aspen. You handed him those annulment papers, and what did he do? He tore them up. He tossed them. He kissed you.

Steffy: Oh, my God. Bill, for God sake, please just let this go.

Bill: Have you? Look me in the eye and tell me that you have completely given up on you and Liam.

Steffy: Liam and I are divorced. He is marrying Hope. Can you accept that?

Bill: You know why I can't.

Steffy: I know you're worried Hope may disappoint your son again, and you want to save him from that. But I have disappointed Liam, too.

Bill: There's a difference, and the difference is that you have learned from it. Hope never does.

Steffy: (Sighs)

Bill: She is a train wreck, and she is going to saddle Liam and that marriage with all of her emotional baggage, and believe me, there is a hell of a lot of it. My son has a very dynamic future ahead of him...

Steffy: (Sighs)

Bill: And it is not going be realized, because Hope will drag him down with all of her drama.

Steffy: What, I'm just supposed to show up, and I'm just gonna end up with Liam? That doesn't make any sense.

Bill: I just feel strongly that you should be there.

Steffy: In case of what, Bill?

Bill: In case the unexpected happens. And if it does, how are you going to feel if you're here and Liam is there and he needs you?

Liam: Wow. Poor guy. Talk about a workout.

Hope: What--I didn't pack that much.

Liam: Uh-huh.

Hope: I didn't.

Liam: Mm-hmm.

Hope: Plus, he's being really sweet about it.

Liam: Listen, I-I didn't say this before, but I'm really impressed with you reaching out to Steffy and trying to make things better between you two and the family.

Hope: Well, I'm still hoping it will happen.

Liam: I wouldn't count on it.

Hope: (Sighs)

Liam: Hey, Mrs. Soon-to-be Spencer, we got a plane to catch.

Hope: Mm-hmm.

Liam: You ready to do this or what?

Hope: Yes. Yes.

Liam: All right.

Hope: Okay. (Clears throat) Mm.

Liam: Hope, what is it?

Hope: Nothing. I... I've just lived here for so long. You know, this is the only home I've ever really known, and next time I walk through those doors, I'll be married... (Chuckles) To the greatest man I know. Mm.

Alison: The Spencer jet is fueled and standing by.

Bill: Flight plan?

Alison: Filed... (Sighs) Puglia, Italy, by way of Genoa City, Wisconsin. Not exactly the most direct route, but--

Bill: Can't be helped.

Katie: What couldn't be helped?

Bill: Hey, you. I was wondering if you were gonna see me off.

Katie: I'm glad to see you haven't changed your mind.

Bill: (Chuckles) Well, he can't get hitched without a best man, right?

Katie: Mm-hmm.

Bill: Liam's counting on me.

Katie: And so is Hope. I'm so glad that you're going to accept her as your daughter-in-law. I know it's not gonna happen overnight, but going to the wedding... (Sighs) It just proves what I knew all along.

Bill: What's that?

Katie: When it comes to your family, especially Liam, you'll always come through.

Bill: (Sighs) Putting me on a pedestal, aren't you?

Katie: Oh, more like a little step stool, but it's a start.

Bill: You two gonna be okay without me?

Katie: Yes, we'll be fine for a few days. As for the wedding, it--it really does mean a lot to me that you're doing this. Our two families are coming together, or they're trying to. And it means so much, especially since we're adding to our family. I just love you so much.

Bill: I love you, too, Katie. (Sighs)

Katie: Mm.

Liam: Think we should pop this sucker open or wait for the in-laws?

Hope: Um, you know what? I've got a better idea. (Laughs)

Kyle: (Clears throat) Excuse me.

Hope: Mm. H. Hi, Kyle.

Liam: Hi.

Hope: Sorry about that. We're just...

Liam: Practicing for the wedding-- the part where the minister says "Kiss the bride" and all that.

Kyle: We're fueled and ready, and we'll take off as soon as everybody's on board.

Hope: Um, I just talked to my mom, and she and Ridge are on their way.

Kyle: Steffy, too, right? Uh, her name was on the manifest as a possibility.

Liam: Oh.

Hope: Uh, you know what? I--yeah, I wanted that to work out, but unfortunately, I-I don't think it will.

Brooke: Oh, no, the flowers for--for the ceremony--

Hope: Hey, Mom. No, no, no. Don't worry about that. No. Kyle was just asking if, uh, Steffy was coming with us.

Ridge: Why would he think that?

Hope: Because I asked her to. I asked Steffy to stand up for me at our wedding.

Bill: (Sighs)

Alison: The warden's waiting on your private line.

(Door closes)

Bill: Warden, how are we today? I assume you've done as I asked.

Warden: This isn't a good time, Mr. Spencer. I have a prison to run.

Bill: What's the status on Sharpe?

Warden: I'll say it again-- you're asking the impossible.

Bill: Meaning you've done nothing since I was there? That is very disappointing, Warden.

Warden: Look, leave me alone. Leave Sharpe alone.

Bill: I can't do that. I want Sharpe released. You know the ropes to make it happen.

Warden: I don't have time for this.

Bill: You hang up on me, it will be the biggest mistake of your life. You know how far my reach is. I can expose you faster than you can say "Adulterer." Is that really what you want-- for the wife and the kiddies to see the details of your sordid and long affair with some hooker splashed all over every magazine and web site that I own? You will lose everything-- your job, your wife, and the kids that you adore. What's it gonna be, Warden, fine, I'll tell you. When we hang up, you are going to tell Sharpe that I am on my way. Then you're gonna take the steps necessary to implement my plan exactly as I have laid it out. Do you understand? Do you understand?

Warden: Yes, damn it. I understand.

Bill: (Sighs) It’s the little things in life that make me smile spending the day with my niece.

Ridge: You invited Steffy?

Brooke: (Sighs)

Hope: Yeah, to be part of the wedding. You know, I was just really hoping that this would be a first step towards healing for all of us. But, you know, now I know that it was too soon.

Brooke: No. No, it's okay. You did a lovely thing, Sweetheart.

Hope: I just really want Steffy to be okay. I-I really--I want that for all of us.

Ridge: What did she say?

Steffy: She said, "Thanks but no thanks." Well, I didn't really say it quite like that, but--

Ridge: Sweetheart, what are you doing here?

Steffy: Everything's all right. I, um... I gave it a lot of thought, and, um... (Sighs) I know it's--it's gonna be hard, but the healing has to start, and why not here, going to Italy? Besides, it beats staying in L.A., having to deal with the press asking me how I feel now that my ex-husband is marrying my... (Sighs)

Hope: Your best friend? Too soon. I know. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. (Giggles)

Steffy: You know what? (Chuckles) We don't know what the future holds. The past few months, I-- if you ask me what I learned I think it was that. I suppose I just needed to be reminded. Look, there's just, um, one problem.

Hope: What?

Steffy: I came straight here, and I didn't pack anything.

Hope: (Sighs)

Steffy: Do you really want me standing up for you in this?

Liam: (Chuckles)

Hope: (Sighs)

Bill: I don't care if you have to break the sound barrier. Get me to Genoa City as fast as possible.

Alison: I know you won't like this question, but Hope and Liam are happy together. Why mess with that, especially using Hope's dad against her?

Bill: Because he won't be happy for long, not like he was when he was married to Steffy. She was his equal. She understood him, his needs, his ambitions, his aspirations. Hope, on her best day, couldn't match up. She will drag my son down, and I can't accept that.

Alison: So you'll intervene somehow with this plan of yours, whatever it is.

Bill: This is my last shot, Alison. And Hope's father is the key, the only weapon I've got. My son's future hinges on this lowlife-- Deacon Sharpe.

(Man speaking indistinctly on P.A. system)

(Buzzer)

Warden: Spencer's on his way.

(Buzzer)

Hope: I'm so glad that you're coming with us. To the wonderful man... (Sighs) That I'm about to marry-- this is a new beginning for all of us. Cheers-- or should I say salute? (Giggles)

Liam: (Chuckles)

All: Salute.

(Glasses clink)

Ridge: Salute.

Brooke: Salute.

(Glasses clink)

Hope: Cheers. (Giggles)

(Glasses clinking)

Brooke: Cheers.
