Hope: What did Liam do? Why are you so certain all of a sudden?

Steffy: "All of a sudden.” Hope, I've been saying this from day one. This divorce is never gonna happen.

Hope: No, this is different.

Steffy: (Sighs)

Hope: Tell me.

(Paper ripping)

Steffy: (Laughs) (Gasps) (Sighs)

Hope: If Liam said anything to give you false hope... or is this an act?

Steffy: Liam loves me. Hope, you know that.

Hope: What did he say? Steffy, why do you think that Liam is going back to you?

Bill: This is the right time to break it off with Hope. She's already moved back home.

Liam: (Sighs)

Bill: If you really wanted to marry her, you wouldn't have ripped up the annulment paper that Steffy handed you on a silver platter, and you certainly wouldn't have kissed her.

Caroline: Liam, this place is fabulous and the views...

Katie: (Laughs)

Liam: They're amazing, right?

Caroline: Yes.

Bill: We're not finished with this.

Liam: Yes, we are. Can we just have a pleasant family evening? Can we do that, please?

Katie: Okay. All right. I'm sensing something's going on here, so I'm gonna go check on the sauce, and we'll get dinner going, all right?

Liam: Yeah. Yeah. Great.

Caroline: I will help you.

Liam: All right. Just be over--

Bill: Whether you want to admit it or not, things are different now, because Hope's moved out. She's made it easy for you.

Liam: (Sighs)

Bill: Liam, be honest with yourself. You want Steffy in your life.

Liam: (Sighs)

Bill: You don't want to turn your back on your wife, on your marriage. Steffy handed you the annulment paper. Why didn't you run, yelling, shouting all the way back to Hope?

Liam: Because it's--it's—

Bill: Don't, don't, don't, don't. Dude, don't make up some sappy reason when you know the truth. And don't let Hope or Brooke or Katie or your own guilt force you into pushing through a divorce that you don't really want. Hope moved back home. This is your opportunity call Steffy. Get her over here. Talk to her about Aspen. Talk to her about the kiss. Get her back in your bed. Tell your wife to come home tonight.

Liam: (Sighs)

Brooke: Cheesecake?

Ridge: You girls coming?

Hope: Uh, you guys... (Sighs) go ahead. We'll be right out.

Brooke: I wonder what that was all about.

Ridge: Oh, I think we can guess.

Brooke: Maybe they're getting over their differences.

Ridge: That would be a miracle.

Brooke: Tonight's been going well enough.

Ridge: Until you brought up Hope's wedding.

Brooke: She's gonna be really disappointed that you're not gonna design a gown for her.

Ridge: If she was marrying any other groom, I would gladly do it. I can't, Logan. I can't. That wouldn't be fair to Steffy.

Brooke: I know Steffy's hurt, but she is getting over it. It's okay to be happy for Hope.

Hope: Well?

Steffy: What kind of cheesecake is that? You think chocolate?

Hope: Steffy, you are avoiding the question. Does that mean you don't have an answer?

Steffy: What do you want me to say? I'm a confident person, Hope.

Hope: Look, I-I just-- I-I would hate for you to misconstrue something Liam may have said. Is that what happened?

Steffy: It's not what he said. It's what he did in Aspen.

Katie: What are you two talking about so seriously?

Liam: (Clears throat)

Bill: Oh, a little business.

Katie: Mm.

Liam: Yeah, that.

Katie: Right. The food's ready.

Bill: Just say the word, and we're out of here.

Liam: Why, so I can call Steffy and reunite?

Bill: Now you're thinking right.

Liam: Let's eat. Wow!

Bill: Wow! Looks like quite a feast.

Liam: You--you guys were able to make this from just what I had in the cupboards?

Katie: Well, caterer's daughter.

Liam: (Scoffs)

Caroline: Really?

Katie: Yeah. My mom, she was the best.

Caroline: Oh, she doesn't do it anymore?

Katie: Um, no, she passed away a few years ago.

Caroline: Oh, I am so sorry. I-I should have known that.

Katie: Why? Why should you have? Uh, you know, I have just as much to learn about you as you do about me.  Does everyone have a full wine glass?

Liam: Uh, yes.

Katie: It looks like it. Great.

Caroline: Mm-hmm.

Katie: I want to make a toast to all of us. Between getting to know a new member of our family, our niece, and looking forward to a wedding, I think this is going to be a great year for the Spencers.

Liam:  Hear, hear.

Caroline: Yes. Cheers.

(Glasses clinking)

Bill: Well said.

Katie: Yes.

Caroline: (Laughs)

Liam: (Chuckles)

Steffy: (Sighs)

Hope: Come on, Steffy. Out with it. I know you, and I know that if something happened in Aspen, you'd be rubbing my face in it right now. Just thank him for the memories and move on with your life.

Steffy: "Thank him for the memories." Huh. You know what, Hope? That's exactly what I did. Look, we all know I have made a lot of mistakes. Liam’s seen a change in me. I have owned up to my mistakes, and I'm determined not to make them again. Can you say the same?

Hope: Yes.

Steffy: Fine. Our divorce will be finalized soon, so... we shall see.

Hope: The decision is made, Steffy. The waiting is only for you and the comfort you seem to get out of knowing that you were once Spencer.

Ridge: Hey, should we bring dessert in here?

Hope: (Clears throat)

Steffy: No, actually, um, I'm gonna run out.

Ridge: Really?

Steffy: Yeah. Thank you so much for dinner. Thanks.

Brooke: Are you leaving?

Steffy: Yeah, actually. I got a-a bunch of errands that I have to do tonight, so...

Ridge: Where are you maybe I can drive you if your leg--

Steffy: No, no, no, no, no, no. The doctor said I'm perfectly able. Welcome back home.

(Door opens)

(Door closes)

Katie: Are you sure that we can't help you with the dishes?

Liam: Are you kidding me? You guys did all the cooking. Yes, of course. Of course.

Katie: Well, Caroline helped and...

Caroline: Hardly.

Liam: Well, it was delicious. Thank you both. And I'm so sorry I almost forgot we planned this.

Katie: Oh, come on. You have a lot on your plate. Mm. You and Hope are gonna be okay, right?

Liam: Yes. Yes. Absolutely.

Katie: All right.

Liam: Caroline, thank you for coming. Don't get too freaked out about joining our little clan.

Caroline: Oh. Families are fascinating. They all have their secrets. (Laughs)

Liam: Uh, well...

Katie: Yes, well on that note, I'll walk you out.

Liam: All right.

(Door opens)

Bill: Call your wife.

Liam: Dad.

Bill: You don't have to be alone tonight.

Liam: (Sighs)

Bill: Do it.

(Door closes)

Hope: Well, it isn't... too awful. (Sighs)

Brooke: "Welcome back home"-- why would Steffy say that?

Ridge: Uh, to welcome her home?

Hope: No, there was definitely a "back where you belong" feeling to it.

Ridge: Oh, come on, you two. Steffy was really trying tonight. (Sighs) Look... so were you, sweetheart, I admit that, baby steps and all, but I'm very happy to at least see the two of you making some kind of progress here.

Hope: Hm.

Ridge: You and Steffy are family. You're gonna have to reconcile your differences here eventually, no matter who is married to Liam.

Hope: You're still holding out for Steffy. (Sighs) It's not gonna happen.

Ridge: I'm not holding out for anyone, sweetheart. I just don't want to see you hurt or disappointed.

Hope: I won't be.

Ridge: Okay, good.

Hope: (Sighs) Look, mom is planning a really beautiful wedding in Italy, and I am so excited for it. And before we know it, I'll be Liam's wife. (Sighs)

Brooke: Oh, honey. (Giggles)

Liam: (Sighs)

(Knock on door)

Liam: Coming. Coming. If you, like--hey, if you forgot something, I think you should... Steffy.

Steffy: Hi. (Sighs) I know I-I'm-- I should have called you, and I'm--I'm sorry I didn't.

Liam: No. No, it's... (Scoffs) it's--it's--it's fine. It's good to see you.

Steffy: Yeah. I had dinner with Hope. (Chuckles)

Liam: What?

Steffy: Yeah, no, no. It was--it was fine. Really fine.

Liam: (Sighs)

Steffy: So she moved out.

Liam: She--uh, she did, yeah. But, um, it's-- it's not because--

Steffy: I could tell she didn't know... about the annulment papers. You--you never told her, huh?

Liam: No.

Steffy: I won't, either.

Liam: (Sighs)

Steffy: Our little secret. (Chuckles)

Liam: That's very cool of you.

Steffy: Well, you know...(Clicks tongue) I am a cool chick.

Liam: (Chuckles) I'm sorry. Where are my manners? Come on in. Just--

Steffy: Oh, no, no. I'm--no, I'm fine.

Liam: No?

Steffy: No. I... I don't want to. I am not stepping foot into this house until it means I'm actually home.

Liam: I will tell you this-- I am very much in love with you, and I am very much committed to you, because you're a remarkable woman. I love you every bit as I ever have, and, Hope, that will never change.

Hope: (Sighs) Oh, Liam. (Sighs)

Brooke: I wonder where Steffy was going in such a hurry. (Sighs) Maybe you should call Liam and check in.

Hope: No. So what if Steffy went over there? (Sighs) And, that's what we're both thinking, right?

Brooke: She said errands, but...

Hope: Oh, we both know she meant Liam.

Brooke: It doesn’t bother you?

Hope: (Scoffs) Oh, no, it bothers me. I hate the idea. But... (Sighs) I am not going to let it stress me out, even if Steffy has been super confident lately.

Brooke: Yeah. What was with that?

Hope: I know. Tonight was kind of weird, right?

Brooke: She just seemed so poised and so relaxed...

Hope: Mm-hmm.

Brooke: And she wasn't even trying to get you all riled up. At first, I thought it was because she was accepting the situation.

Hope: Mm. But it's Steffy.

Brooke: Exactly.

Hope: Mm-hmm.

Brooke: There's something she's not saying.

Hope: Mm. I called her out on it. I mean, I asked if Liam had done or--or said anything to encourage her and--

Brooke: And?

Hope: Same old Steffy routine. Liam made vows to her, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

Brooke: Well, the waiting period's almost up.

Hope: Mm-hmm.

Brooke: There's not much more time left to talk about her sacred vows.

Hope: You know, I'm almost glad that she didn't agree to an annulment, because now that the divorce is almost final, and we've done everything her way, she'll be forced to see what Liam really wants. I mean, she dug her heels in, and--and she just knew that Liam would end up running back to her in the end. But we're there, and that hasn't happened. Steffy can talk her confident game. I don't care, because I believe in Liam and me.

Steffy: I mean it, Liam. The next time I walk into this house, it'll be as your wife again.

Liam: (Chuckles) I-I'm sorry. Does not compute. So you are not here to seduce me?

Steffy: Hope would say different, but no, I'm not. Sorry to disappoint.

Liam: (Scoffs) You're cute.

Steffy: Hope says you're every bit committed to getting married as she is. You know that, right?

Liam: Uh, uh, yeah, but--but, Steffy, I-I--

Steffy: Hey, no. You're stubborn enough. It might actually happen.

Liam: (Sighs)

Steffy: I'm not gonna lie. Um... (Clears throat) It was hard listening to Hope talk about your wedding... in Italy-- how romantic... When I know she doesn't have a clue that I offered you the annulment, and you... tore those papers up.

Liam: (Sighs)

Steffy: And by the way, I think that was the single most romantic... moment of my life... sprained knee included.

Liam: (Scoffs)

Steffy: Sitting by the river, actually singing...

Liam: Singing. Yeah.

Steffy: Yeah, singing together. (Laughs) And then you, um... you bent me back in your arms, and you kissed me. (Inhales sharply) Oh, yeah, baby. And you rocked my world and I know you felt the same. I mean, you can't deny it. But just you know that, um... that little peck by the river and ripping up those annulment papers-- Hope's never gonna hear about it... not from these lips. Anyway, um, you know, I just came by to say that, really... that, and, um... Maybe... this.

Liam: (Sighs) (Sighs)

Steffy: Cha-cha-cha.

(Car stops)
