Brooke: Oh, honey. I didn't expect you this early.

Hope: Oh, I didn't really sleep last night, so...

Brooke: Talking with Liam?

Hope: Uh, waiting for Liam.

Brooke: When did he get back from Aspen?

Hope: I'm not really sure. I-I was asleep when he got home, and I-I didn't want to wake him up this morning.

Brooke: (Sighs) I didn't sleep very well last night, either.

Hope: A lot to think about after that session with Dr. Barton.

Brooke: Are you sure that you want to...

Hope: Move out? Until we're married? I don't know. I don't--I-I really- I don't know what's best right now. (Sighs) I wish I knew what happened in Aspen after I left.

Steffy: (Gasps)

(Knock on door)

Liam: What? (Chuckles) What, did you forget your key?

Bill: You make it sound like I always let myself in.

Liam: (Scoffs)

Bill: So where's Hope?

Liam: Left before I woke up.

Bill: And Steffy?

Liam: Did you get my text?

Bill: About what happened on the mountain? Yes. I also know you flew home with her-- only her.

Liam: Y-yeah. Not much gets by you, does it?

Bill: Well, my caretaker at the Aspen house filled me in. What happened, Liam?

Liam: Steffy wiped out snowboarding.

Bill: Did you see it?

Liam: No. Hope did, 'cause it was her fault.

Brooke: (Sighs) That's quite a decision, leaving Steffy and Liam alone there.

Hope: (Sighs) Oh, I have messed things up so badly. I promised Liam that I was done with the pills, and I wasn't. I promised a lot of young women that I would wait until marriage, and I didn't. It seems like a pattern is--is starting to form here. (Sighs) And I have thing about it.

Brooke: So you're considering moving out of Liam's house.

Hope: But if I do, that just clears the way for Steffy.

Stephanie: Well, Hope must have been so upset.

Steffy: Not when she crashed into me. It was so weird. Hope just comes flying out of nowhere, completely wipes me out, and acts like it's no big deal.

Stephanie: W-well, she said she was sorry, though, right?

Steffy: Yeah, it was some kind of lame apology. She asked if I was hurt, but she completely wanted to blow me off. The next thing I knew, she was gone.

Stephanie: You--you mean she left you there? She didn't stay and help you?

Steffy: No. No, it was really strange. But you're not gonna believe this-- Liam came by. He was the one who found me.

Bill: So let me get this straight-- Hope runs into Steffy and leaves you to pick up the pieces.

Liam: Yeah. I mean, well, she didn't know that Steffy was injured so badly, but...

Bill: Hope went to get help?

Liam: Not exactly. She wasn't herself, Dad.

Bill: Right.

Liam: Okay, the thing is, reporters, paparazzi were chasing her all over town. They even followed her back to the house, and, um, and that's when she, um...

Bill: What?

Liam: She took one of the feel-good pills.

Bill: So Steffy's accident was a direct result.

Liam: Yeah, I know. I know. She shouldn't have even been on that mountain. She shouldn't have done a lot of things.

Hope: Mm.

Brooke: What does it say about Aspen?

Hope: Oh, I'm so over it. (Scoffs) Let them say whatever thy want to say. I have a life to put back together.

Brooke: Honey, if I were you, I would think very hard about your decision to move out of Liam's.

Hope: Mom, you heard Dr. Barton. She thinks that this might be an answer, and I have to do something to get my life back on track. I was a role model, and I have to be a role model again. I-if Liam and I want a future together, then we have to do it right. (Sighs) I'm out. I'm moving out, and when their divorce is final, Liam and I will get married, and on our honeymoon night, I will move back in. This time, we'll do it right.

Brooke: Okay. But in the meantime, I know what we'll do.

Hope: What?

Brooke: (Chuckles)

Hope: (Chuckles)

Brooke: We're going to plan your wedding day.

Hope: (Chuckles) (Sighs)

Stephanie: Here, honey.

Steffy: Ow. Oh, thank you.

Stephanie: You're welcome.

Steffy: (Grunts)

Stephanie: Boy, you've had quite an adventure.

Steffy: (Sighs) That's not why I went to Aspen.

Stephanie: No, I know it isn't. (Inhales sharply) So, um, any interesting details you might have left out?

Steffy: Um, the best part, actually.

Stephanie: Well, tell me.

Steffy: (Laughs) Okay. Well, uh, when I was at the hospital, I had an epiphany.

Stephanie: Oh, yeah, those are always good.

Steffy: Yeah, I, um, signed the annulment papers.

Stephanie: Why?

Steffy: Well, it-- it was just obvious. I was just dangling the papers over his head, trying to hold on to Liam.

Stephanie: Honey, you love him. You want to stay married to him.

Steffy: Yeah, I-- I didn't want to let him go. I was convinced if I held on to him, he would come back to me. But now I know how much he cares about me. And when we were on that mountain, just waiting for the ski patrol to come, he needed to be there, just like he needed to be at the hospital when I was there. Everything changed. I didn't have to force him to love me, because it was already there. You know, I could give him the annulment. It didn't matter, because he will never stop loving me.

Bill: So you're starting to see things differently?

Liam: I am, uh, getting a little clarity, yes.

Bill: About Steffy?

Liam: About Hope.

Bill: What about yourself?

Liam: (Laughs) N-not much clarity there yet, I'm afraid (Sighs)

Bill: I assume you took Hope to task about the pills and what happened with Steffy.

Liam: Yeah, yeah, I did.

Bill: Well, I'm glad to hear that, cause Steffy could have been seriously injured, Liam.

Liam: I know. I know. I mean, nobody knows that more than Hope. That's why she took off from Aspen.

Bill: That was her decision?

Liam: What, you think I threw her out? (Scoffs)

Bill: It would have been justified.

Liam: When I, uh, got back to the house, Hope wasn't there. There was just a note on the door. I haven't spoken to her since.

Bill: What did it say?

Liam: Just that she had to get out of Aspen.

Bill: That's it?

Liam: Yeah. I mean, well, it said "I love you," but basically yeah.

Bill: So it wasn't a "Dear John" letter.

Liam: No. No... (Chuckles) She didn't break up with me or anything.

Bill: I'm surprised you didn't go after her.

Liam: Well, I-I-I don't think that's what she wanted. I mean, and besides that, I didn't... go back to the house alone. There was Steffy.

Brooke: (Sighs) You and I will do this together, okay?

Hope: Okay.

Brooke: We're gonna have so much fun. And there's not that much time. There's only really a couple of months.

Hope: Oh, wow. A couple of months until Liam's divorce seems like a lifetime, but when you think about it in terms of planning a wedding...

Brooke: It's a heartbeat.

Hope: Yeah. Okay. Okay, uh, okay, a wedding.

Brooke: (Laughs)

Hope: Okay, so where will it be?

Brooke: Uh, guess...

Hope: What?

Brooke: It would be somewhere very far away from los Angeles.

Hope: You think so?

Brooke: Away from the distractions, from the media, from the reporters.

Hope: Okay, yeah, I'm--I'm on board now. The further away, the better.

Brooke: Okay. Hmm. I think I've got it. Yes. (Laughs) Yes!

Hope: Okay, where? You have to tell me where!

Brooke: Oh, uh, the most beautiful place in the world-- the south of Italy.

Hope: Italy?

Brooke: Yes, it's perfect.

Hope: What?!

Brooke: It's so remote, and it's so very romantic.

Hope: Italy? Really? You think so?

Brooke: Mm-hmm. (Laughs) Yes, I do! We can do this for you. You deserve it. You and Liam have made such a commitment, and the day that his divorce is final, we are going to make this official. (Laughs)

Hope: (Chuckles) Ohh.

Brooke: The wedding of your dreams and the man that you've always wanted, honey.

Hope: (Chuckles)

Brooke: You are so close to having it all.

Hope: Mm.

Brooke: And you will. You will.

Hope: Mm-hmm.

Steffy: You don't think I should have done it.

Stephanie: (Sighs) If you sign annulment papers, it voids the marriage. I mean, it's as though it never even existed. Is that what you really wanted to do?

Steffy: No.

Stephanie: Well, then why would you sign them?

Steffy: When Liam left the hospital, I just realized, it there has been so much craziness. You know, lives have been messed up. Hope is driving herself insane, and I've been to the hospital twice. It's time to stop the madness.

Stephanie: Well, I guess then you've given him exactly what he wanted.

Steffy: What he thought he wanted. When I gave Liam the papers, he ripped them up.

Bill: So you and Steffy were at the house together after Hope left Aspen?

Liam: Yeah, I mean, I couldn't let her stay in a hotel. She just got released from the hospital.

Bill: No, of course not. You couldn't do that. I mean, you were being a good husband. I'm proud of you. What happened?

Liam: She gave me something.

Bill: What?

Liam: The annulment papers... signed.

Bill: (Sighs) Well, I can't say I'm happy to hear that.

Liam: I tore them up, Dad.

Bill: That sounded like you said, "You tore them up."

Liam: I tore them up. I don't want to do this anymore. I don't want to pretend like our marriage never happened.

Bill: So Steffy releases you, gives you your freedom, and you reject it? You know what that means, right?

Liam: Try not to read too much into it.

Bill: Did it ever occur to you that maybe Steffy wants her freedom? She's had enough of this nonsense, and she wants to move on?

Liam: Yes. Yeah, it did occur to me.

Bill: A woman like Steffy is not gonna wait around forever. How many times have I told you that?

Liam: I know that, Dad. It's not that she wanted to blow off the marriage.

Bill: That's what an annulment is, Liam.

Liam: I kissed her. I kissed her.

Bill: All right, I am the smartest guy, but I'm having a little trouble keeping up with this.

Liam: I know. After I tore up the papers and threw them in the fire, I walked right over to her, and I took her in my arms, and... I kissed her.

Bill: What's going on with you, son?

(Car pulls up)

Bill: Ohh.

Liam: It's probably Hope.

(Car door opens)

Bill: She's planning a future with you.

(Car door closes)

Bill: Don't string her along. Be a man. End it. Steffy is the woman for you, and I think you are finally starting to realize that.

(Front door opens)

Liam: (Sighs) (Sighs)

Bill: Hi, Hope.

Hope: Hello.

Bill: I'm on my way out.

Hope: (Sighs) Mm.

(Door closes)

Stephanie: So now he doesn't want an annulment.

Steffy: Apparently not.

Stephanie: What exactly did he say wh-when he ripped up the papers?

Steffy: Nothing. We kissed.

Stephanie: Oh.

Steffy: Yeah. (Chuckles)

Stephanie: Where was Hope during all of this?

Steffy: She was on a jet flying back to L.A.

Stephanie: So does that mean that you and Liam are together?

Steffy: No, Liam is still living with Hope. I mean, they're probably together right now.

Stephanie: Oh, God, I need a drink. (Scoffs) When is this man going to make a decision?

Steffy: Tell me about it. I just wish I knew what was going through his head. (Sighs)

Hope: (Sighs)

Liam: You left early this morning. You didn't wake me up.

Hope: Yeah. (Sighs) Yeah, I, uh, I wanted to clear my head before we talked, you know? Oh, I, uh, I went to see my psychiatrist yesterday, um, as soon as I got off the plane.

Liam: Yeah, it--it was tough what happened in Aspen.

Hope: But I think it was good. I learned a lot. Liam, I'm so sorry that I... crashed into Steffy. I... I want to see her so I can apologize and explain everything to her, you know, tell her that I was... under the influence and never should have been on that mountain. Liam, you do know that with those pills, right? They are gone from I-I-I'm not ever going to take another one again. And--and I-I don't expect you to really believe me when I say that, because I've said it before, but... I really know that this time, I-I'm gonna live up to it. And, um, I've made another decision. Liam, I think that moving in together when we did was a mistake. I shouldn't have done it. I mean, when you think about it, that's when everything started going wrong for us. I didn't stay true to myself. And that is really what's messing with me. And I feel like there's really only one way to fix it. Liam, I have to move out.

Liam: Whoa. Wow.

Hope: I've disappointed you, and I'm... I am so sorry. I disappointed myself even, and--and I know that we wouldn't be here if Steffy had just signed the annulment papers, but she didn't. And it is what it is, but... maybe it's for the best. I've been tested, Liam. We've been tested, and we made it through. And from now on, my eyes are only on the future, on a life with you, and a wedding that--that really is just around the corner. And, Liam, don't let them get to you-- your father and Steffy. I know what they think of me. I know what they think. They think I am nuts, that I'm out of control, and...

Liam: (Sighs)

Hope: Let's face it, in Aspen, I was. I was, I'll admit it. But those dark days are behind us. Tell me you believe that. You believe it, right? You haven't given up on us. We'll be married, and we will have a wonderful life together. Well, that-- that's what you want, too, right? Liam, tell me you still want to marry me.
