Hope: I'm so sorry. (Sniffles) I know I shouldn't have kept this from you, but I was drowning in stress, and the pills were helping me cope. (Sniffles) But I know you hate secrets, and I know that that is what tore you and Steffy apart, and I-I will not let that happen with us.

Steffy: It's not like I didn't see this coming.

Taylor: Right. But all couples have disagreements.

Steffy: Yeah, but this is more. I mean, Hope's done something.

Taylor: What?

Steffy: It's just a feeling.

Taylor: Are you sure that isn't just wishful thinking?

Steffy: I know how it hurts to have a relationship you want so much, and it just falls apart. No matter how I feel about Hope, I would never wish that on anyone. You know what? Her mom is the one who kept pushing her on Liam, so whatever's wrong, it's partially Brooke's fault.

Brooke: Amber, what are you doing here?

Amber: Jeez, Brooke. Scare a girl to death, why don't you?

Brooke: You know, I don't know how you keep getting past security.

Amber: Well, maybe because everyone at Forrester doesn't feel the same way about me as you do, hmm?

Brooke: The only person who doesn't feel that way is Rick. And now that Caroline is here--

Amber: Look, I know what you're hoping, okay? But you think you'd be more worried about your daughter than me. Well, you heard about what happened at Stephanie's, right? Hope fainted and fell into the pool. She could have drowned.

Brooke: What?

Amber: Hope's okay. Liam saved her.

Brooke: (Scoffs) Where is she now?

Amber: She is at home telling Liam everything.

Hope: I thought that I could handle it. I thought that I could handle all the negative press...

Liam: (Sighs)

Hope: And all the horrible things that people were saying about me, but... (Sniffles) it just kept coming, like this huge wave. (Sniffles) Luckily, uh, Dr. Barton, my--

Liam: Psychiatrist.

Hope: Yeah. Yeah, my psychiatrist. She... (Sniffles) she helped me realize that I should have told you from the start. I should have trusted you to understand.

Liam: (Sighs)

Hope: Liam, I was just... (Sniffles) Liam, I was so overwhelmed. (Sniffles) And I know how important honesty is to you in a relationship. I-I know that. And for some dumb reason, I didn't tell you. (Sniffles) And I'm just hoping that you can understand that. (Sobbing)

Liam: I should have realized.

Hope: (Sobs)

Liam: I should have realized.

Taylor: I don't want to get you all wound up, but your brother sensed the same thing, too, that everything was not okay with Hope and Liam.

Steffy: How could it be? They're both living in a pressure cooker.

Taylor: It's probably more so for Hope because of all the negative publicity.

Steffy: Well, according to Liam, Hope was handling the backlash okay, or so it seemed. But then she started having these big mood swings. Liam wasn't too concerned, but not after today. Something weird is going on with her, and I think Liam is starting to see her differently.

Amber: So that's everything Hope confided in me...

Brooke: (Sighs)

Amber: About arguing with Liam and how she felt horrible about it, and that's why she's coming clean to him right now, you know, about the shrink, about popping pills.

Brooke: My daughter is not popping pills. And I don't believe for a moment that she confided any of this in you, not willingly, anyway.

Amber: Well, I didn't have a gun to her head, so...

Brooke: The only reason that you're involved in this at all is because you were eavesdropping that day.

Amber: I wasn't eavesdropping, but I am glad that I heard what I did. You know, I've been able to be there for Hope.

Brooke: I don't want you anywhere near my daughter. It could only mean trouble.

Amber: Look, if you're worried I'm gonna say anything about this, I won't, okay? I'm just trying to be a good friend to her.

Brooke: Oh, my God. She doesn't need a friend like you, Amber, not after everything she's been through.

Liam: You wanted to wait until the honeymoon. You were very clear about that. And I pressured you, and I shouldn't have pressured you.

Hope: No, you didn't, Liam. You didn't.

Liam: Yes, I did. Hope, I did. And you... (Sighs) went against your own values, and that is my fault. That doesn't make you any less of a person.

Hope: Yes, I am.

Liam: No, no, you're not. No, you're not. You made a decision. So what? You can't change it now. But you don't ever have to go through this alone again, okay?

Hope: Okay.

Liam: Never again.

Hope: Okay.

Liam: All right.

Steffy: Another thing that's weird-- Hope wasn't even grateful after he saved her.

Taylor: She was probably in a little bit of shock.

Steffy: No, because a few minutes after that, she started ragging on him, and then she stormed off.

Taylor: Do you know why they were arguing or what they were arguing about?

Steffy: Yeah, mainly because of the accident. He wanted her to get checked out.

Taylor: At the hospital, you mean?

Steffy: But she just thought everyone was overreacting.

Taylor: Well, it is kind of odd that she would be so defensive.

Steffy: I think she needs a shrink, just like the rest of those Logan women.

Taylor: (Sighs)

Steffy: Actually, what is it, that thing you always tell me? You can't fix a problem if you don't acknowledge you have one, right?

Taylor: What kind of problem do you think Hope has?

Steffy: Well, look at everything that's happened in her life since that picture of her kissing Liam hit the net. All the Hope for the Future following, they just evaporated. Those young girls who idolized her turned on her. She tried to have it all. She compromised her--herself and her beliefs to get it. But a-a girl like Hope with this pristine reputation, I mean, really, that's the kiss of death.

Taylor: Well, obviously, Liam has a few reasons to be concerned about her.

Steffy: I think Liam feels a little responsible in some weird way. Oh, Hope knew the longer she kept him waiting, the harder it would be for him not to look back in my direction. I mean, we are a thousand times more compatible than he and Hope would ever be. She's all about her--her values and her rules. But I don't really think this is about her high moral standards. I just think... (Sighs) she's a little girl who still wants that romantic fairy tale. And she gave it up before she was ready. The end.

Brooke: I still don't understand why Hope would come to you about any of this.

Amber: She didn't, you know? We just happened to cross paths. I could see she was upset. I mean, what do you want me to do, Brooke, huh? I turn my back on her just like the rest of the public has done? I care about Hope.

Brooke: Oh, please.

Amber: Fine, you--you know, believe what you want to believe. But for the record, I encouraged Hope to tell Liam the truth about the pills.

Brooke: You encouraged Hope?

Amber: The truth is always the best.

Brooke: Mm. And you're such an expert at telling the truth.

Amber: I was with her before she left, and she was a wreck. You know, she knows how Liam feels about secrets. Maybe he'll understand. I hope so, because if he doesn't...

Hope: Sharing my life with you, Liam, this is why I moved in here. (Sniffles) You know, I-I told myself that it would all be okay, you know, because we were committed to each other, and that was all that mattered, but... it wasn't, you know, because it wasn't just about us, not when I put myself out there with Hope for the Future, you know, not when I... (Sniffles) told the whole world what my values were, including my views on abstinence. (Sniffles)

Liam: (Sighs)

Hope: Oh, God, and then when that picture surfaced of us kissing in public, and when everyone found out that I was living with a married man, I just... (Sniffles) I became the ultimate hypocrite. (Sniffles)

Liam: (Scoffs) What? No. No.

Hope: (Scoffs)

Liam: You are a beautiful, amazing woman...

Hope: (Sniffles)

Liam: And I think it's amazing even that you care so deeply about this.

Hope: Yeah, but I... (Sniffles) you know, I started to believe all those things that people were saying about me until I just couldn't take it anymore.

Liam: Yeah. Yeah. I know. Well, I mean, you turned-- you turned to a therapist and drugs for your anxiety.

Hope: Yeah, yeah.

Liam: I mean, come on.

Hope: (Sniffles)

Liam: I really thought that we could keep...

Hope: (Sniffles)

Liam: This whole thing private.

Hope: Mm-hmm.

Liam: You know?

Hope: Yeah.

Liam: And I was wrong, and I'm sorry. I hate what this has done to you. I hate what this has done to us.

Hope: (Sniffles)

Taylor: Well, it is true. Hope is under a lot of pressure.

Steffy: Something's not right. Liam's worried, and Hope isn't herself. I mean, she's acting erratically.

Brooke: That's not true. (Sighs) What's going on?

Taylor: Brooke, do you know that your daughter passed out and fell in the pool today?

Brooke: Yes. (Sighs) I just found out.

Taylor: And then Liam tried to get her to go get help, and she--she refused.

Steffy: And then walked out on him.

Brooke: And how did you know that?

Steffy: Liam.

Brooke: Uh-huh.

Taylor: Why is Hope treating him like this? He's trying to help her. He's worried about her.

Brooke: There's really no need to worry. I'm gonna make sure that she sees a doctor.

Steffy: It's more than that. Liam says she's not acting like herself. The mood swings-- she's all over the map. Something's going on, and I think you know what it is, don't you?

Hope: (Sniffles) (Sighs) Mm.

Liam: So you didn't...

Hope: (Sniffles)

Liam: I mean, you don't feel like you can just tell me anything?

Hope: No, I do. I do. I was just... I was just scared. I didn't know how to tell you, especially... because, um...

Liam: Because what?

Hope: Because... I started seeing Dr. Barton after our first night together.

Liam: Oh.

Hope: I was really upset. You know, I didn't know why I wasn't everything I wanted to be for you. And I had to find out why.

Liam: Hope, I-I--

Hope: No, I know. I know you thought that we had dealt with this, and we did. We did.

Liam: Well, I mean, you did with the help of a psychiatrist I knew nothing about until right now but... (Sighs)

Hope: Liam, talking to her really helped me.

Liam: Yeah.

Hope: It did. And then... (Groans) and then... (Inhales sharply) that picture of us kissing went viral, and everything just started caving in again. (Sniffles) You know?

Liam: (Sighs)

Hope: Young girls were calling me a fraud, and mothers were... saying that I'd let down their daughters. I was being called out for a stand that I took and then backed out on, and... they're right. They're right, Liam. My message through Hope for the Future has been tainted.

Liam: What--to you, does that-- I mean, does that affect how you feel about us?

Hope: No. No, nothing could ever change how much I love you or the future that I want with you.

Liam: Okay. I... is this gonna be a-a future where you keep things from me, though?

Hope: No.

Liam: Psychiatrists you've been seeing, pills you've been taking...

Hope: Liam, no. No, no, no. I mean, she just-- she just gave me the pills to calm my anxiety, and I only took a few of them.

Liam: I-I-I know that, but you--you--you shouldn't have kept it from me. I mean, that's the point, right? 'Cause we're living together now. I don't--I don't want to do this. I don't want to be keeping secrets. I mean, I'm real-- I'm so glad that you're-- you're telling me this now...

Hope: Mm-hmm.

Liam: But you can't put all the blame on yourself, because it's a decision that we both made, right? I mean, we can't... we can't take it back now. But it--to me, to me, it was beautiful. I mean, it was something beautiful between the two of us. And we're just gonna have to deal with this together. But no more secrets, okay?

Hope: No. No.

Hope: Okay.

Brooke: That would suit you just fine, wouldn't it, if there were problems between Hope and Liam?

Taylor: Aren't you the least bit concerned about your daughter, Brooke?

Brooke: No. If they have issues, they'll work through them, like any couple that is in love would do.

Steffy: (Imitates brakes squealing) Okay, uh, hmm, let's pull us back. Liam and I-- we loved each other, too.

Brooke: (Sighs) I wasn't insinuating otherwise.

Steffy: Mm-hmm.

Taylor: Oh, stop it, Brooke. You--you... (Scoffs) you still believe my daughter tricked Liam into marrying her so that she could have him...

Steffy: (Sighs)

Taylor: And then lied to hold on to him.

Brooke: Steffy, I am sorry that you're hurting. I just wish would move past this marriage and move on with your life. And you, Taylor, as a mother, you should be helping her instead of...

Taylor: Instead of what?

Brooke: Encouraging her for no good reason. You and I both know that if Steffy had signed those annulment papers, that--

Steffy: Has it occurred to you that I am doing Hope a huge favor by not agreeing? Hope and Liam may not be the perfect couple you believe, and it's better that they find this out now than after they're married.

Liam: If we could be married right now, we would be.

Hope: Mm-hmm.

Liam: I mean, we're in this together. Don't ever forget that.

Hope: Mm-hmm.

Liam: And I'm here for you. Whatever you need, I'm here for you, okay?

Hope: Okay. Um... there is one thing.

Liam: Okay. Tell me.

Hope: (Sighs) Will you go to Steffy and ask her for an annulment one more time?

Liam: Oh, man.

Hope: Liam, I know that's a lot to ask. I know. I know it's a lot to ask.

Liam: I--

Hope: But, Liam, if she agreed to sign the annulment papers, all the stress, all the pressure that I'm under would disappear. We could get married right away. I wouldn't need therapy. I wouldn't need anything except to be your wife.

Liam: Okay.

Hope: (Sighs)

Liam: Yes.

Hope: Yeah?

Liam: Yes, I will talk to her.

Hope: Oh, thank you.

Liam: Yes.

Hope: Liam, thank you so much.

Liam: Yes, I will.

Hope: Mm. I love you. I love you so much.

Liam: (Chuckles) I know.

Hope: Thank you. Thank you.

Liam: You're welcome.
