Liam: So I want another graphic designer for the tablet apps.

Bill: What's wrong with 'em?

Liam: They're just... (Sighs) They're not vibrant. They don't leap off the screen. You know, they should be edgy, they should be compelling, they should scream, "Hey. Stop on in. Stay for awhile."

Bill: They don't scream?

Liam: (Groans) There's room for improvement.

Bill: All right. Do whatever it takes.

Liam: Wait. Really? You don't need to hear a-- hear a pitch or--or anything?

Bill: No, I don't need to hear anything. You're doing a great job, and I, uh, humbly bow to your expertise when it comes to technology.

Liam: Humbly? Wow, that is a word I am surprised to hear in your vocabulary.

Bill: Well, as you know, your dad is always full of surprises.

Liam: (Chuckles)

Bill: Um... how's it going with your new roommate?

Liam: My--oh. (Chuckles) Yeah, no, Hope and I are good. We're--we're actually-- we've never been better. We're happy.

(Knock on door)

Bill: All right.

Alison: Sorry to interrupt, but there's something you both need to see. It concerns you and Hope.

Brooke: I couldn't believe it when Stephanie told me. This woman actually confronted you? Called you names?

Hope: Yep, she did. But y--I... (Sighs) I mean, I can't really blame her for being upset.

Brooke: Oh, honey. Sometimes you're too forgiving for your own good. Did you at least speak your mind?

Hope: Mom, what was I gonna say? Think of it from this woman's point of view. I mean, I-I'm her daughter's role model, and there I was kissing a technically married man in public, apparently shameless. But, you know, Liam and I, we really should have been more discreet.

Brooke: So you two just got swept up in the moment?

Hope: Yes, exactly. I mean, Marcus had just proposed to Dayzee, and it was so romantic. And kissing Liam, it--it--it just felt like a natural response.

Brooke: Well, you don't seem too upset by the confrontation.

Hope: I... (Sighs) Don't get me wrong. I-I really wish that it hadn't happened, because it was painful, and--and it was embarrassing, but I'm just--I'm not going to let anyone's opinion color my life. I am loving it too much. Mom, I am finally happy.

Brooke: Oh, honey, that is so wonderful. And I am so proud of you.

Hope: (Sighs)

Brooke: You and Liam have worked so hard to be together, and now you finally are. So you just need to enjoy every little millisecond.

Hope: Yeah.

Ridge: Oh, good, you're both here. You need to see something, especially you.

Brooke: What's wrong?

Ridge: Take a look.

Hope: (Gasps)

Steffy: (Sighs)

Liam: Oh, man, this is not good.

Bill: Where and when?

Liam: Yesterday at Dayzee's. I wonder if Hope has seen this. She's gonna flip out.

Ridge: "Professional Virgin Hope Logan Busted." "It seems miss abstinence uses one side of her mouth to preach to her Hope for the Future followers and the other to play tonsil tag..."

Hope: Oh, my God.

Ridge: "With the very married Liam Spencer. All together now, ladies, can you say 'Hypocrite?'"

Hope: Oh, God. (Sighs) I'm so sorry. This never should have happened.

Ridge: Look, we have a public relations nightmare here, and it needs to be addressed. And the first and most important thing that needs to happen is you need to move out of Liam's house immediately.

Liam: (Scoffs) Stunned. We both were. I mean, one minute we're out with friends, having a good time, celebrating Marcus and Dayzee's engagement, the next thing you know, this woman is in Hope's face, and then her daughter comes up all--all disillusioned, which destroys Hope, and in turn, makes the mom even more mad.

Bill: No wonder the tabloids ran with it.

Liam: (Sighs) I know. I should have been more conscious of that. But come on, it's not like we were making out.

Bill: Liam, you're a married man, and Hope is a young woman with a very public image, and on record worldwide for her high moral standards.

Liam: Okay, Dad, if this is turning into another Hope-bashing session...

Bill: No, wait, just cool your jets, Romeo. I'm just trying to look at the situation objectively. Hope gets on a pedestal and preaches to other young women about proper sexual conduct. Well, I hate to break it to you, it's human nature. We love to build up our idols. We love to tear 'em down even more.

Liam: God, a hypocrite, though, really? I mean, it--that's so unfair. I wish we could sue for libel.

Bill: Here's how this works. You got two stories to tell. "A," Love conquers all. Star-crossed lovers moving heaven and earth to be together at all costs. So what? Boring. However, story "B," A virginal Hope Logan caught in a lip-lock with a very-married you-- now that's got legs, in more ways than one.

Liam: I'm just--I'm not used to being this visible. It's creepy.

Bill: Well, Hope should have been more aware. I mean, it's her image, for God's sake.

Liam: Oh, come on, Dad. You know, we were having a moment. We had a real, genuine loving moment. Are we not allowed?

Bill: Nope, not in public, unless you're ready for the repercussions.

Liam: (Sighs)

Bill: Listen, you better be prepared, Liam. This is gonna be the hottest story in fashion until... well, until mercifully, the next hottest story comes along.

Liam: Okay, we can't just let this thing blow up all around us. I mean, h-h-how are we gonna fight back?

Bill: Well, the best thing would have been to get out in front of it, but now we're gonna have to play catch-up. The good news is Spencer Publications controls a lot of the mainstream media, so we break the story there.

Liam: Wait, what? That's a terrible idea.

Bill: It's a terrible idea?

Liam: Yeah.

Bill: Really? Give me a great idea, boy genius. Let's hear it.

Liam: No, I'm--well-- I'm saying, because we end up in the same place, with Hope's face plastered all over creation.

Bill: Liam, that ship's already sailed. But at least this way, we put our own spin on it. You and Hope tell the story you want to tell. But we don't have time for, "Hope, what are we gonna do?" "Liam, is that really the best thing?" We have no time for that. We gotta move, and fast.

Liam: Okay. Okay. All right, let me-- let me think about it. In the meantime, I gotta-- I gotta find Hope.

Bill: You gotta find Hope? But... what did I just say? (Scoffs)

Brooke: You're having a knee-jerk reaction. There's no reason for Hope to upend her life.

Ridge: Not if we're all ready to throw Hope for the Future on the trash pile and light it on fire. Is that what you want?

Hope: No, of course not. (Sighs)

Ridge: 'Cause anything less than that, anything less than moving out of Liam's, is just gonna seem like more hypocrisy.

Brooke: It's not fair, Ridge, after everything Hope and Liam have been through.

Ridge: Well, they should have thought of that before they started making out in public.

Brooke: They got caught up in a moment. Surely, you can empathize.

Ridge: It doesn't matter. The reality is Hope cannot live with Liam as long as he's married to Steffy. If she stays there, we're gonna have a train wreck on our hands. I'm telling you right now, that's not happening.

(Cell phone alerts)

Steffy: (Sighs) "Click on the link"? (Sighs)

Hope: Okay, Liam's marriage to Steffy is over.

Ridge: Not in the eyes of the law, or the women who support your message by buying your collection. You have a responsibility to them, Hope.

Brooke: What about Hope's own responsibility to herself, to her happiness? When does that become a priority?

Ridge: When Liam's divorce is final. So what's your plan? Do you have a strategy to counteract the bad publicity that's about to rain down on us?

Hope: (Sighs) Um... I don't-- I'll--I'll call a press conference. I'll--I'll make a statement.

Ridge: What can you possibly say that's gonna carry any credibility, as long as you're shacking up with married man?

Hope: Oh, please, don't call it that.

Ridge: I'm just trying to make you see how it's gonna look to women like the one who confronted you.

Hope: (Sighs)

Ridge: Bad enough you moved in with Liam. Now to flaunt it in public? What the hell were you thinking?

Hope: (Scoffs) That's--that's just it. I-I wasn't thinking. For once, I wasn't thinking. I was just happy. I was in the moment with the man I love. There was no Steffy. There was no Hope for the Future. It was just me and Liam...

Brooke: Honey...

Hope: And we kissed.

Brooke: Okay, you shouldn't have to apologize for this to anyone.

Ridge: Logan, I shouldn't have to explain this to you. Hope is a pubic figure. She's chosen to take a stand on how she lives her private life, and that's translated into profit for this company. If the perception of Hope changes from someone to be emulated to someone who turns out to be a fraud, the line doesn't stand a chance.

Brooke: I have a solution.

Ridge: Great. Let's hear it.

Brooke: Get Steffy to sign the annulment papers. Hope and Liam can be together. Problem goes away.

Ridge: Steffy has every right to insist on waiting for a divorce.

Brooke: It's a stalling tactic.

Ridge: No, it's not.

Hope: (Scoffs)

Ridge: In any case, we have to deal with this. I know it probably sounds like I'm just blasting you.

Hope: (Sighs) Look, I-I do understand where you're coming from, I guess.

Ridge: Okay, then you understand the only way to begin mitigating this disaster is for you to move back home immediately, before it's common knowledge that you and Liam have moved in together.

Steffy: (Sniffles) (Sniffles) (Sighs)

Hope: All right, I've heard what you have to say, but now we need to shift our focus to damage control, how we are going to move forward under these new conditions, because I am not going to move out of Liam's house. And I am not going to apologize for loving him.

(Knock on door)

Ridge: We're in a meeting.

Liam: Yeah, I figured as much.

Hope: Hi.

Ridge: Come in.

Liam: You okay?

Ridge: No, she's not okay. I assume you know what's been happening.

Liam: Yeah. I saw the web site. I am so sorry.

Ridge: Well, sorry's not gonna cut it, Liam. We need to counterattack now. Something that doesn't scream hypocrite like the damn article here.

Hope: (Sighs)

Brooke: (Sighs) Ridge wants Hope to move out.

Hope: And I refused.

Liam: Good.

Ridge: Good?

Hope: (Sighs)

Liam: Well, Ridge, I mean I-I know your position on this. I mean, you're a bottom-line kind of guy, just like my father. But Hope and I have waited a long time to be together, too long.

Brooke: Hear, hear.

Liam: (Chuckles) Look, I-I know that we have a situation on our hands, but we've got a lot of sharp minds around this thing, and--and I am confident that we can come up with a response that doesn't resort to Hope having to move out.

Ridge: Liam, have you given any thought at all to what this is doing to your wife?

Hope: (Sighs)

Liam: Yeah, of course, I have. I-I don't like what this is doing to Steffy, but that's not something I can fix right now. I mean, I've made a decision. She's working on accepting it, and everybody else just kind of has to... deal with it. I--look, in the meantime, if you don't mind, I need a moment with Hope alone.

Ridge: (Sighs)

Brooke: Of course. Good-bye, sweetie.

Hope: Bye. (Sighs) Oh, my God. The web site is blowing up.

Liam: Hope, you don't need to be looking at that.

Hope: Are they right? Are they right? H-h-have I become the worst kind of hypocrite?

Liam: No. No. And you don't need to listen to these people, because you've done nothing wrong, okay?

Hope: Okay. (Sighs) (Sighs)

Liam: Listen to me. This is a blip on the radar...

Hope: (Sighs)

Liam: Okay? And don't you dare let it make you doubt yourself or us. These people are calling you names because they're upset, and they're upset because they're disappointed, but they don't know you.

Hope: Well, they think they do. They think they know me. And I have made a bond with these women, and I've broken it.

Liam: I know.

(Knock on door)

Hope: (Sighs)

Madison: The press is clamoring for a statement.

Hope: God, I'm--I'm sorry. Not now, Madison.

Madison: I don't know how much long--

Liam: Madison.

Hope: (Sighs)

Madison: Okay, then.

Liam: She's right. She's right. We gotta come up with a response, okay?

Hope: Okay, so I will, um, I'll call a press conference and say... I'll say what, Liam? I mean, not that I'm...

Liam: I know--

Hope: I'm sorry for loving you or--or that I'm ashamed of us being together.

Liam: Okay, all right, listen. Maybe we can avoid a face-to-face. My dad was saying that maybe we can break this story through Spencer mainstream media. You know, I mean, that would-- that would give us a jump on--on tabloids, and it would give us the advantage of sensitive handling.

Hope: (Sighs) I can't believe this. I cannot believe this. We let our guard down for two minutes.

Liam: Listen, listen, listen. This is not the end of the world, okay?

Hope: Okay.

Liam: Just remember, what-- what were you saying last night?

Hope: You better remind me.

Liam: Okay, I'll remind you. That we're not gonna let what people think come between us. I mean, that's the bottom line, right?

Hope: Right. Yeah.

Liam: Okay. Okay.

Hope: (Sighs)

(Cell phone rings)

Steffy: (Sighs)

(Rings)

Steffy: Hey, Bill.

Bill: How's it going?

Steffy: Uh, peaceful and beautiful, quiet.

Bill: Just what you needed. Did you see the link I sent you?

Steffy: Yeah. And I haven't been able to tear my eyes away. It's like a bad traffic accident.

Bill: The site's getting a lot of hits. People are outraged.

Steffy: Bill, um... (Sighs) Why did you send this to me?

Bill: To keep you in the loop.

Steffy: Do you think I want to know Hope and Liam are kissing in public, openly disrespecting my marriage? Is--is that supposed to make me feel good?

Bill: No one's feeling good about this, Steffy. Liam's worried about Hope. Hope, I'm sure, is completely humiliated. However, it's also an opportunity. And I want you to see it as such. Hope and Liam are under siege, and I don't think she's going to hold up too well. So you hang in there. Don't give up. I'll keep you posted.

Steffy: (Sighs)

Hope: And to top it all off, Ridge is furious with me.

Liam: No, not with you. With the situation, with how it's affecting business.

Hope: Liam, I am the situation. I am. It--it was my decision to put myself and my principles at the center of Hope for the Future. Okay, I wasn't jus selling a fashion line. I was selling a message, and right now, I am not living up to that message. I am a fraud. I mean, it's no wonder that these women are turning away from me.

Liam: Whoa, whoa, whoa, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Listen to me. We are in love. And that is nobody's damn business but ours. Okay, you knew this. You knew this last night. You were so kick-ass. The hell with everybody else, right?

Hope: Yeah. But Liam, last night I was not being called a hypocrite all over the internet.

Liam: So what? What's changed? You're still the same person. That woman got in your face, and you took it, and you went home with me, and we had our evening together. And that is exactly the way that we're gonna ride this thing, okay?

Hope: Yeah.

Liam: Strong and committed and together. Deal?

Hope: Deal.

Liam: Okay.

Hope: Okay. Okay. Okay.
