Liam: What's it been, like, a half an hour since I saw you last?

Hope: Mm, I think more like 37 minutes, but who's counting?

Liam: Way too long. Are you still home? I'm--I'm rushing back.

Hope: Home-- I like the sound of that.

Liam: Well, stay there. I'll help you re-create every moment of last night.

Hope: Well, I hate to disappoint you, but I'm at my mom's house.

Liam: Oh, really? Darn. Why are you calling me, then? (Laughs)

Hope: Because I love you, and I can't wait to see you tonight

Liam: Oh, I can't wait that long. Are you kidding?

Hope: Oh, good, actually, because Marcus just texted me, and he wants me to meet him over at Daisy's. Want to come with me? I've got some errands to run, but I could swing by afterwards, and pick you up at work.

Liam: Um, yeah, sounds good. I love you.

Hope: I love you, too.

Liam: (Sighs)

Brooke: Hi, honey.

Hope: Hi.

Brooke: What are you doing here?

Hope: Oh, I just-- I just wanted to talk. Sorry, I was surprised you weren't here. I guess I should have called first. I'm--

Brooke: No, no, no, it's okay. I was dropping off R.J.

Hope: Oh, okay.

Brooke: So what happened last night? It didn't go well?

Hope: Uh... (Sighs) not at first. I mean, I was-- I was still really tense, you know, like before.

Brooke: Oh, honey, I'm sorry.

Hope: Well, I am... (Sighs) I took one of the pills that Dr. Barton gave me. I really didn't want to, but, um... (Sighs) Mom, it worked. It really helped me deal with my anxiety.

Brooke: Good, I'm glad.

Hope: Yeah, yeah. I mean, it was a much better experience for both of us... all because of this. (Scoffs) And Liam has no idea.

Steffy: Am I interrupting?

Liam: No. No, no. Uh, come on in. Did I miss a meeting or... something?

Steffy: No, uh, I came by to see you.

Steffy: Sounds like everything's going well with you and Hope.

Liam: Yeah, yeah.

Steffy: Yeah. You smile when you talk to her.

Liam: (Laughs)

Steffy: You sound so... carefree.

Liam: Things are good between us right now. We're actually happier than we've ever... been.

Hope: I feel so weird about his. I-I really prefer not to take these.

Brooke: Honey, it's not like you'll be taking them all the time. Like the doctor said, just when you're anxious or tense.

Hope: I was certainly tense last night. I... oh, it doesn't make sense! You know, I love Liam. I shouldn't be stressed out when I'm with him.

Brooke: You just moved in together. You're starting a whole new life. Who wouldn't be on edge? And if it's something more, you are speaking with Dr. Barton...

Hope: Yeah.

Brooke: So she'll be able to help.

Hope: (Inhales deeply) (Sighs) God, the stress really did just melt away. I was really able to be with him, you know, the way that I'm... supposed to be.

Brooke: (Chuckles)

Hope: (Laughs)

Liam: I'm sorry. I shouldn't be saying things like that. I don't mean to hurt you.

Steffy: Uh... (Sighs) No, actually, um, the last time we spoke, it just... I picked up this vibe-- maybe there were problems between you and Hope.

Liam: (Sighs)

Steffy: I guess not.

Liam: No, things are, uh, pretty good. We're in a good place.

Steffy: Yeah, aren't you a-- a little concerned? You know, about compatibility?

Liam: You sound like you've been talking to my dad. Listen, anything that he says to you about Hope being... unstable, uh, confused, anxious, uptight, don't buy it. He's wrong.

Steffy: Good. Yeah. Look, I just-- I didn't want to leave town if I thought Hope wasn't taking care of you.

Liam: Leave town?

Steffy: Yes, I'm-- I'm flying out today.

Liam: Like-- like a... business trip?

Steffy: No. (Sighs) I'm leaving Los Angeles. Now you don't have to worry about me being in your way anymore.

Brooke: I am so glad things are going well, 'cause you and Liam have been through so much to get to this point.

Hope: I know. But you know, when you think about it, it's--it's kind of silly how -- I mean, I finally move in with the man I love. We're starting our life together, and I can't just sit back and enjoy it.

Brooke: Honey, it's normal. And now you're seeing a therapist...

Hope: (Scoffs) Yeah.

Brooke: And that should be helping.

Hope: Yeah, definitely.

Brooke: (Gasps) How's this for good news?

Hope: What?

Brooke: Steffy is leaving town.

Hope: No way!

Brooke: (Squeals) Yes! I shouldn't say "good," because she is Ridge's daughter, and I really shouldn't celebrate, but I am.

Hope: Um...

Brooke: (Laughs) I am.

Hope: Wow, this is-- this is good.

(Doorbell rings)

Brooke: Yeah, I know. You know, she's going to Aspen, but she's not going there for good. She's just going for a little while to clear her head and get her priorities straight.

Hope: Huh.

Brooke: And I really think that Steffy's finally realizing that Liam is never coming back to her.

Taylor: What were you saying about Steffy?

Brooke: Oh, gosh, Taylor, come in. (Laughs nervously) Um, I was just telling Hope that I'm happy S-Steffy is taking a little time for herself and going out of town for a while.

Hope: Mm.

Taylor: Well, is Ridge here? That's exactly why I'm here.

Brooke: Oh, no, I'm sorry. He left for an early meeting.

Taylor: Well, the two of you could at least pretend not to be so happy.

Liam: (Laughs) where are you going?

Steffy: To Aspen. It's not forever.

Liam: Um, I-- I-I don't think you should be making some hasty decision right now. It...

Steffy: I'm not.

Liam: Well, it seems pretty quick to me.

Steffy: (Scoffs) Do you want me to stay? Careful, we can't have Hope hearing that.

Liam: Steffy, come on. Hope knows I still care about you. I always will.

Steffy: That's why I have to do this-- so you and Hope can be alone to see if you're really sure.

Liam: Okay--

Steffy: Look, I-I just--

Liam: (Sighs)

Steffy: I-I came here-- I came here to tell you good-bye, okay?

Liam: Wait, let--stop. (Stammers) Let's just-- can we think about this for a second? Can we just, uh, think about it?

Steffy: (Sniffles)

Liam: There's gotta be a better solution to this. I mean, I-I can't imagine...

Steffy: (Sniffles)

Liam: Not having you in my life. You're like my best friend.

Steffy: Wha-- no, Liam I am your wife. I can't be friends with you, at least right now. No, I-I can't pretend that my heart isn't breaking every time I see you.

Liam: But Aspen? I mean, is--isn't-- isn't that gonna be hard? It...

Steffy: I want to be where... (Sighs) We said our vows and got married and started our lives together. Maybe I'll, uh, go up the mountain every day and imagine you'll be there to greet me. Or hey, um, maybe I'll be all alone, and there'll be some hot snowboarder guy ready to sweep me off my feet. (Chuckles)

Liam: Steffy, wait. Wait, wait.

(Door opens)

Liam: (Sighs) I want that. You know, I--

Steffy: (Sniffles)

Liam: I want someone to sweep you off your feet. (Chuckles) It just means you'd never come back.

Steffy: I'll be back. Maybe by then... (Sighs) You'll come to your senses...

Liam: (Sighs)

Steffy: And you'll realize you made a huge mistake... (Sniffles) Thinking you could have a life with Hope.

Steffy: Good-bye.

Steffy: (Sobs) (Sniffles) (Sobs)

Taylor: Steffy's been going through a lot, and I would think you would be able to empathize with that. I-I'm very proud of Steffy going away to Aspen. I think it shows a great deal of maturity, separating herself from the situation.

Hope: Aspen, that's, um, that's a really interesting choice.

Taylor: Is it?

Hope: Don't you think it's kind of ironic? I mean, she's going back to the place where she tricked Liam into marrying her.

Taylor: Her father-in-law has a retreat there, so, no, I don't find it very ironic at all. I find it intelligent and--and rather resourceful.

Hope: Okay.

Taylor: And there was no "tricking." Liam married Steffy of his own free will.

Brooke: Well, that's open to interpretation.

Hope: (Sighs) You know what? I actually-- I have to go. Uh, Taylor, look, I do realize that this is a difficult time for Steffy. I do. Um, and I hope that she benefits from this trip, and she comes back with a new outlook. Bye, Mom.

Brooke: Bye, honey.

Hope: Thank you for everything.

Brooke: I love you.

Hope: Love you, too.

Brooke: She's right, you know. Getting out of town could be the best thing for Steffy.

Bill: Did you approve the cover?

Liam: What?

Bill: The cover. You know, the little magazine I pay to be the editor of? The cover.

Liam: Oh, yes. Sorry. Sorry. Yes, I was just-- I was gonna e-mail that. (Sighs)

Bill: I guess I know where your mind's been, "Prince Charming."

Liam: No, I doubt it.

Bill: Look at you. It's pathetic-- distracted, staring off into space. You had another lackluster evening with "Snow White," didn't you?

Liam: Uh, no, actually, it's been pretty great, like wild, crazy, passionate great. (Chuckles)

Bill: So she took a bite out of the poison apple, did she?

Liam: (Chuckles)

Bill: Then what's the problem? Steffy. You know she's leaving town.

Hope: When's your flight?

Steffy: In a couple hours. Don't really have time for a tearful good-bye.

Hope: I gotta say, I was surprised to hear that you were going away.

Steffy: Don't be too excited. Just because I'm not gonna be in L.A. doesn't mean you won't have to deal with me. I'm still gonna be working.

Hope: (Scoffs) Aspen, of all places.

Steffy: Yeah, Bill offered his house, so why would I turn it down? Mountain air, scenery...

Hope: I especially like the view from the gondola. You should check it out.

Steffy: Look, Hope, Aspen is very special to me. It's where Liam and I got married.

Hope: Mm-hmm.

Steffy: And even though we are in the process of getting a divorce, it just makes sense to be there right now.

Hope: No, I-I think this is good. I know how hard it is for you to be here, to see the man you love with another woman.

Steffy: Okay, you know what? You know, please don't pretend to understand you know what I'm feeling, okay?

Hope: Steffy, I do understand. I've lived it.

Steffy: No. No. No, not really, 'cause Liam is my husband, and you don't really understand that bond.

Hope: Okay, you know what, Steffy? After all of the detours, all of the roadblocks that Liam and have been through, we are finally starting our lives together. And you can hold on to that label of "wife" for as long as you want, but really, what does it mean?

Steffy: Um, that I'm not committing adultery.

Hope: (Clears throat) I'll admit, you upset me the first time you said that, but that's not what it is, and I'm not going to let you get to me anymore.

Steffy: Hope, if it bothered you, then you know it's true. Tell me, how does a-- a good girl like you avoid letting it "get to you"?

Hope: I have help.

Steffy: Really? What kind of help?

Hope: From Liam, from my mother, from people who care about me, who constantly remind me that Liam and I have worked through so much to get here, and we shouldn't be ashamed of finally being together. You can call it "adultery" all you want, but I'm not listening. That's an ugly word, and that's not how I feel when I'm with him.

Steffy: Okay, okay, you know what? I'm not hearing this, thank you very much.

Hope: Okay, um... (Inhales deeply, sighs) Steffy, I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. But you need to know that the power you held over us is gone. I'm not going to let you guilt-trip me anymore, Steffy. I am proud of who I am and the decisions I've made. And, Steffy, how is it adultery when your marriage is over? You know, you and Liam wouldn't even be married if you had let me see him that day in Aspen. I hope you think about that when you go there.

Brooke: I really do respect what Steffy's doing. Going to Aspen will help her put things in perspective and accept the situation

Taylor: Well, this is the situation-- whether you want to hear it or not, Liam loves Steffy, or he never would have married her.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Taylor: And it may look like he's happy playing house with Hope right now, but the fact is, this divorce is going to be very hard on him, harder than you're willing to admit.

Bill: You don't want her to leave.

Liam: Of course, I don't. But I'm with Hope now, and if Steffy needs to get out of town to deal with that, then I guess I support her.

Bill: Why do you think it's going to work out with Hope this time around?

Liam: Dad--

Bill: It won't. It won't. Steffy is still your wife. You love her.

Liam: I--

Bill: Lim, you still have feelings for her. Hold on to your marriage, son.

Steffy: Have you said what you needed to say? I have to go. Aspen awaits me.

Hope: Steffy, look, I didn't come here to make you mad.

Steffy: Let me guess- you came here to get me to agree to an annulment? Don't bother. Your mother already tried. Didn't work.

Hope: (Sighs) Oh, God. Fine. You know what, Steffy? I really don't care when your marriage ends. Yes, an annulment would be great, but if you want to hold out for divorce, that's fine. That is your call. But just so you know, Liam and I are going to be married the second it is official.

Steffy: Um, we'll see about that.

Hope: (Scoffs)

Steffy: Look, don't get me wrong. I do believe if Liam could marry you right now, he would. But in a few months from now... (Inhales sharply) I'm not so sure.

Hope: Oh, Steffy, you can't possibly believe that Liam's going to change his mind.

Steffy: Well, I'm not giving up.

Hope: Don't you realize that you are just prolonging your pain? Don't you see that? I have moved in with Liam, okay? We have started our married life together.

Steffy: Uh, adultery, you mean.

Hope: Uhh, Steffy! I know you think it's wrong for me to be living with your husband. There! I said it-- your husband. But given the circumstances of the way you deceived Liam-- trapping me, refusing to let me speak to him, I hardly think that you can call your marriage "sacred"!

(Keys jingle, pills rattle)

Hope: (Sighs)

Steffy: Were you going for intimidation? Because dropping your purse all over my floor kind of ruined the effect.

Hope: Oh, God, Steffy! Don't you have a plane to catch?! Go! Go to Aspen. Hole up in Bill's grand estate while you hope and wish for Liam to come back to you, because frankly, I am sick of putting up with it her. (Sighs) Steffy, Liam and I are solid. Nothing is going to come between us, okay? You need to get that into your head-- nothing. (Inhales slowly) (Exhales deeply) (Sighs) (Exhales slowly) (Sighs)
