Steffy: You can't deny it, Hope. If you are intimate with Liam tonight, it's adultery.

Hope: That's not how I see it.

Steffy: How can you say that? The whole world knows about your high moral standards.

Hope: In our hearts, Liam and I are already married.

Steffy: You're rationalizing.

Hope: The only reason we're not is because you won't sign the annulment.

Steffy: That is not the point. In the eyes of God, in the eyes of the state, you are not husband and wife. Liam and I are. So why don't you just own it, Hope? You're planning to commit adultery.

Brooke: I know this isn't what you want, but it's what Hope and Liam want.

Ridge: Logan, he's still married to Steffy. They've only been apart for a few weeks.

Brooke: It's over.

Ridge: Well, what if it isn't? What if you're wrong? What do you think this is gonna do to Hope if she gives herself to Liam tonight and then the divorce doesn't happen?

(Knock on door)

Katie: Hey.

Liam: (Chuckles) Hey.

Katie: (Sighs) How are you feeling?

Liam: Uh, a lot going on.

Katie: Yeah. I-I was with Hope when she made her decision.

Liam: Wow!

Katie: (Giggles)

Liam: No secrets in this family, are there?

Katie: Yeah, no. (Laughs) I'm just so happy things are working out for the two of you.

Liam: I don't think I tell you this nearly enough, but your support means a lot to me.

Katie: Well, I wish your father felt the same way. (Sighs)

Liam: He will. He will.

Katie: Yes, he will. (Chuckles) But tonight is not about your father or anyone else. It's just about you and Hope, just the two of you, moving on in this new phase in your life.

Liam: (Sighs)

Katie: Mm. (Giggles)

Brooke: Hope and Liam are ready for this.

Ridge: She's a wonderful girl. I know she's very much in love with Liam, and he's getting a divorce. Normally, I'd say fine, just explore the relationship however you want.

Brooke: But you're sensitive to Steffy.

Ridge: It's not even that. Hope has taken a very public position on this. It means a lot to her, and you know that.

Brooke: Hope is not compromising. She feels she's married in every way that matters.

Ridge: Is that honestly the way she feels, though?

Brooke: Yes!

Ridge: Then she's not the young woman that I've known all these years.

Steffy: It's immoral, and you know it. You're trying to convince yourself that it's not, but in your heart, you know that this is wrong.

Hope: (Scoffs) I'm sorry. Are you, of all people, trying to preach morality to me?

Steffy: Oh, don't-- don't do that. You know what I'm saying is true.

Hope: You're being a hypocrite, Steffy. You don't believe any of that, but you're using it to hang on to Liam.

Steffy: We are not talking about me. And you're right, I don't believe it. But you do, and that makes you a hypocrite. You're the poster girl for abstinence. That is what you're known for. You are famous for this one principle, and now you're gonna go behind closed doors and defy it?

Hope: My message is about more than just abstinence. It's about making a choice, doing what's right for you, not being pressured( and staying true to yourself, which I have been and will continue to be. And tonight, I'm going to be true to the love I share with Liam. You don't have control over that, not any longer.

Liam: So Stephanie came by this afternoon.

Katie: (Chuckles) That doesn't surprise me.

Liam: Yeah. She thinks I don't know what I'm doing.

Katie: And I bet she thinks she does.

Liam: (Chuckles) It's all right. I'm over it.

Katie: Listen, Liam, none of us would want you to be with Hope if you weren't committed to her, but you are, or you wouldn't be taking this step. This is gonna be a wonderful night. It's the beginning of your life together as a couple. So cherish it, okay, 'cause I know Hope will.

Liam: (Sighs) I love her so much, Katie.

Katie: I know you do. It's the one thing I've never doubted. Mm.

Liam: (Whispers) Thank you.

Bill: Hey, baby.

Katie: Hi.

Bill: Where's my son?

Katie: Uh, well, if I had to guess, I would say he's with Hope.

Bill: Oh, boy, another hand-holding session...

Katie: Mm.

Bill: And another night of disappointment.

Katie: I don't think so.

Bill: What?

Katie: Hope is moving in with Liam tonight. She's decided to take the relationship to the next level.

Bill: Never happen.

Katie: Oh, I think it will, despite Steffy's best efforts to keep them apart.

Bill: The little girl has gotten cold feet before.

Katie: Not this time. I was with her when she decided. She's ready.

Bill: Hmm.

Katie: Oh, I'm sorry, baby. I know how much you hate to lose.

Bill: Lose?

Katie: Yeah.

Bill: I'm not losing anything.

Katie: No? Mm. (Giggles)

Bill: In fact, that's the best news I've had all day.

Katie: Uh-huh.

Brooke: Hope knows what she's doing.

Ridge: I wish I could be so sure.

Brooke: Steffy has to let go.

Ridge: She will, if that's how it works out. But it's also possible this night may not be as perfect as Hope and Liam are expecting.

Hope: (Sighs) (Exhales)

(Knock on door)

Liam: Busy?

Steffy: No. Uh, no, I was just, um... come on in. I just... I didn't expect to see you tonight.

Liam: Um, we need to talk.

Steffy: Okay.

Liam: I've made a, um, decision. Uh, Hope--Hope and I have made a decision, and, um, I just thought you should hear it from me in-instead of somebody else.

Steffy: I already know.

Liam: You do?

Steffy: Hope was here earlier on.

Liam: Yeah, so-- so she told you. (Clears throat)

Steffy: That you two are spending the night together? Yes, she did.

Steffy: (Sniffles)

Liam: You know how I feel about you.

Steffy: (Sniffles)

Liam: I mean, so many ways, you're... I-I don't regret one moment of our marriage and--

Steffy: Liam, don't. Don't. I think we know how much we mean to each other. That's not what this night is about. (Inhales quickly) I do have one question for you-- are you absolutely certain you are ready for this? Because after tonight, nothing will ever be the same for us again.

Katie: You really mean that?

Bill: Absolutely, I mean it. Liam and Hope doing the horizontal tango? Terrific.

Katie: I see. You're being sarcastic.

Bill: I'm not being sarcastic. My son's in a cold sweat to sleep with a sweet little virgin? Let him do it. Teach him a lesson.

Katie: A lesson?

Bill: The difference between having a girl and having a woman.

Katie: Ahh, I see.

Bill: And so will he, and it won't be so bright when he wakes up in the morning.

Katie: You think she'll disappoint him.

Bill: I know she'll disappoint him. I guarantee she will disappoint him. I'll bet my Ferrari on it.

Katie: (Chuckles)

Bill: You know I calls 'em as I sees 'em, and I'm usually right.

Katie: Not this time, sugar. Those two are crazy about each other. They're in for a night they'll never forget.

Bill: They're in for a night- mare they'll never forget.

Katie: It's going to be wonderful.

Bill: It's going to be a train wreck. Liam is going to be completely disappointed, and you can take that to the bank.

(Match strikes)

Hope: (Sighs)

Liam: Yeah, I am ready.

Steffy: Is Hope?

Liam: It's her idea.

Steffy: I wonder who talked her into that.

Liam: Steffy.

Steffy: No, it doesn't matter. I'm sure everyone's weighed in by now.

Liam: Um... (Chuckles) Yeah. Yeah, on-- on both sides, actually. I had a visit from Stephanie, believe it or not, and, uh, my dad had some things to say about it.

Steffy: I didn't-- I didn't want anyone pressuring you. You know that?

Liam: No, I know that. I know. They came all on their own. They love you, Steffy. They wanted to support you. Heard a lot of things I knew already-- what a wonderful, beautiful woman you are. They didn't need to sell me on that.

Steffy: But not enough to save our marriage?

Liam: No.

Steffy: I just want to be your wife.

Liam: (Chuckles) It was good, you know? It was-- it was better than good. It was amazing.

Steffy: Yeah, we were... (Laughs) We were great.

Liam: Yeah, we were.

Steffy: (Sighs) Hmm. Our time together was, um, short and sweet. I'll never forget those amazing days and those incredible nights. You know, I'll always believe `that, um, it would have worked out with us if I hadn't messed up. And you know what? Liam, I-I know... I know you're gonna come back to me, because I'm in your heart, and you are in mine. If you go through with this tonight, it's only gonna hurt Hope. Don't do that to her. Don't do it to us.

Bill: There's still time, Katie.

Katie: For what?

Bill: Call your little niece. Tell her to give this some more thought.

Katie: Like six months more?

Bill: She's in for a letdown. Liam belongs with Steffy. It isn't gonna work with Hope.

Katie: (Sighs)

Bill: Spare her the pain. Call her.

Katie: You're wrong. Tonight is a new chapter in Liam's life, and it's not with Steffy. So you better accept that, because you're about to be blessed with a beautiful new daughter-in-law.

Ridge: I wonder if Steffy knows.

Brooke: About tonight? I hope not.

Ridge: Me, too. She's gonna be crushed.

Brooke: Steffy had her chance. It didn't work out, and now it's Hope's turn. (Sighs) Tonight is so significant for my daughter-- the first time she's going to be with a man. It's a very significant time in a young woman's life. I just want it to be beautiful for her.

Hope: (Sighs)

Liam: Part of me will always love you, Steffy. That's why this is so hard. I came here because I have to make you understand. I'm starting a new life tonight, and you should do the same.

Steffy: (Sniffles) Is that honestly what you want? For me to just give up all my love for you and just give it to someone else? Liam, at the restaurant, I know what it did to you when I was with Rick.

Liam: Steffy, it's over.

Steffy: Love doesn't just end, not when it's real.

Liam: I know.

Steffy: (Sniffles)

Liam: I know that. I have to set a course for my life now.

Steffy: (Sniffles) Okay, so what about... what about all of our memories? (Sobs) You're just gonna push it out of your mind?

Liam: You have to let that go. We both do. We both have to let it go.

Steffy: (Sniffles) No, the best time of my life? No. (Sobs) No, I can't. I won't. (Sighs shakily) (Sniffles) (Sobbing)

Liam: Steffy.

Steffy: Just please stay. Please.

Liam: I can't.

Steffy: (Sighs) She made you miserable, and I helped you. It--it is not gonna change.

Liam: It already has changed.

Steffy: She is the same person. She is exactly like her mother. She's exactly like all the Logan women. No, it--it won't be the same that it is for us, the passion that we have for each other, the passion for life. My God, look at me. I love you. You know, you, uh... (Sighs) You know that I love you. And I know that I've made mistakes, and I'm sorry, but... (Voice breaking) (Sniffles) You know, I-I don't want you to break that--everything that-- that we cherish, and I don't want you to leave me. I don't want you to go to Hope. Just don't go.

Liam: I have to go.

Steffy: You don't have to do--no, you don't--

Liam: I have to go. I have to go.

Steffy: You don't have to do anything.

Steffy: You are my husband, and I am your wife. You don't have to leave.

Liam: (Sighs)

Steffy: Just stay. (Laughs)
