Liam: You know how you-- you, um, you want something... (Inhales deeply) for so long, and then it finally happens, and you just can't even wrap your head around it?

Hope: (Giggles)

Liam: That's me. (Chuckles) That's me right now.

Hope: I know. (Chuckles) Ohh, there were times when I thought this day, this... this night would never come. (Laughs) Unless, of course, you think we're moving too fast. (Laughs)

Liam: Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's-- that's what I think.

Hope: (Laughs)

Liam: I think we are long overdue for this.

Hope: Mm-hmm, I know. You know, we--we don't need a-a legal document to give us permission to be together. We can start our marriage whenever we want.

Liam: Like tonight.

Hope: Yep, tonight. And there is nothing that Steffy can do to stop us.

Ridge: Hey.

Steffy: Hey, Dad. What's up?

Ridge: Thought I'd check in, see how you're doing...

Steffy: Good.

Ridge: See if you're handling things okay.

Steffy: Mm, trying. You know, holding patterns aren't really my strong suit, but it's what I'm in, so... hmm?

Ridge: Still sure about your decision?

Steffy: Yes, absolutely. Look, if-- if Liam still wants to marry Hope in six months, then I guess I will find a way to be gracious. But in the meantime, I'm Steffy Forrester Spencer, and that's all there is to say about that.

Brooke: I just want to let you know that I'm so proud of you, and what you did was so loving and so unselfish. Okay. Just know that I'm only a phone call away. I love you.

Stephanie: What's going on?

Brooke: (Sighs) It's Bridget. She let Owen go back to Jackie.

Stephanie: What brought that on?

Brooke: She knew that it wasn't Owen’s choice to leave Jackie in the first place, and she realized that Owen's heart was still with her.

Stephanie: You know, that woman gets away with murder. She steals our designs, and... (Scoffs) she doesn't go to jail, and now she gets her husband back, too? Come on! What is she, Teflon-coated or something?

Brooke: What is it I can do for you, Stephanie?

Stephanie: Oh, um, well, I just sort of wanted to tell you about a little conversation I had.

Brooke: Uh-oh.

Stephanie: And, um... (Sighs) okay, I talked to Liam. And I told him that I felt if he-- if he walked away from Steffy, it would be a terrible mistake, one that he would regret the rest of his life.

Brooke: (Scoffs)

Ridge: You're consistent, I'll give you that. There's a lot to be said for knowing how you feel.

Steffy: Dad, I know what Liam feels, too.

Ridge: Even if he doesn't?

Steffy: He loves me, okay? But Hope just confuses him.

Ridge: Steffy, he's a big boy.

Steffy: Yeah, but Hope has this blinding effect on him. He doesn't see her for what she truly is.

Ridge: And what is that?

Steffy: A perfectly nice girl, who's rather boring and naive about life because she hasn't lived it. And Liam just feels guilty because he promised a future with her, and he didn't deliver.

Ridge: Well, sweetheart, I hope you're right. But what if-- what if it doesn't play out that way?

Brooke: So what was Liam's response?

Stephanie: (Chuckles) Well, he doesn't have much to say on a good day, but he listened.

Brooke: Did you give him a choice?

Stephanie: Uh, wait a minute here. You defend your daughter at the drop of a hat. I have a right to take up Steffy's case. I mean, for gosh sakes, he's married to her.

Brooke: Right, and you're such a big believer in the sanctity of marriage.

Stephanie: Yes, I was... till you came along.

Brooke: So let me guess-- Liam stood by his choice of Hope.

Stephanie: Well, I told him he'd already made the right choice when he married Steffy.

Brooke: (Chuckles) Well, of course you would, because Steffy is a Forrester. She walks on water. And Hope is just an unfortunate Logan.

Stephanie: True.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Stephanie: Although I am looking out for her.

Brooke: Really?

Stephanie: Mm-hmm. You don't think I want her to turn out to be just an ordinary common... (Chuckles) home-wrecker like you and your sisters?

Hope: (Sighs) I've been imagining what it will be like to live with you-- to go to bed together, wake up in each other's arms, fight over mirror time.

Liam: I'm sorry. Are you calling me vain?

Hope: Well, you have hair issues.

Liam: It's okay, though. I-I will defer to your hair issues.

Hope: Mm. (Sighs) This is what we've been waiting for-- starting our life together. (Sighs) Oh, Steffy so loved being in control over us. She loved holding that waiting period over our heads. But why should we give anyone that power?

Liam: We shouldn't.

Hope: Mnh-mnh. You realize that when we wake up tomorrow...

Liam: In each other's arms.

Hope: I'll be all yours? (Chuckles) And we will be together forever.

Steffy: I thought you understood. I am crazy in love with Liam.

Ridge: Loving someone doesn't necessarily make them the right choice, Steffy. Unfortunately, Liam's made his, and he picked Hope.

Steffy: (Sighs) Well, he thinks he owes her.

Ridge: How it looks from here, no matter how happy Liam's been with you, he always bounces back to Hope. It's not like it's been a chore, either. Do you really want to invest the next six months of your life just being rejected again?

Steffy: That won't happen.

Ridge: What if it does?

Steffy: Why are you anticipating the worst? Is it impossible to believe that Liam would ultimately choose me over Hope?

Ridge: Not at all. I just haven't seen much indication that's how it's gonna play out.

Steffy: Oh, my God.

Ridge: I'm not trying to bring you down, sweetheart. I'd love nothing more than to see you have what makes you happy, even if it's Liam. But he's caused you so much heartache. I just don't want to see you hurt again.

Steffy: Dad, look. I adore you for caring. But Liam is what makes me happy. And it would be really nice if you just understood. I don't expect you to. You know, no one really can, because no one knows what it's like when it's just Liam and me, and it is absolutely amazing. It'll be like that again. It will, Dad. I know this.

Stephanie: Isn't it possible for you to give Hope some just, you know, wonderful, warm, maternal... (Laughs) advice and say "stay away from Liam"?

Brooke: Nice try, Stephanie.

Stephanie: Well, don't you think she should actually be dating someone who's really eligible?

Brooke: No, it's not gonna happen. Hope and Liam are going to be together and as soon as you and Steffy realize that, the better, because after to--

Stephanie: (Sighs)

Brooke: Hope is very clear about her future with Liam.

Stephanie: I just feel that those two have missed their moment. Why are you smiling?

Brooke: Am I?

Stephanie: Yeah. Wait a minute. You just said something. You just said "after to--" what? After what?

Brooke: Nothing.

Stephanie: Yeah, what--what-- wait a minute. What's cooking up in that little brain of yours?

Brooke: (Laughs) I have no idea what you're going on about.

Stephanie: Ohh, yes, you do. What has Hope got planned?

Brooke: (Sighs) Let it go, Stephanie.

Stephanie: Wait a minute. What is she going to... she's gonna sleep with him.

Brooke: I didn't say that.

Stephanie: Yes, you did-- not in so many words, but yes, you did.

Brooke: What are you doing? Where are you going?

Stephanie: None of your business, my dear.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Liam: I love seeing you like this.

Hope: Mm, well, the past is behind us, and we're starting with a brand-new slate, starting now. Oh, my gosh, I have to go!

Liam: What? Whoa. What--what's--what's wrong?

Hope: Ooh. Well, there's so much that I have to do. I mean, first of all, I have to get something fantastic to wear.

Liam: Not necessarily. (Chuckles)

Hope: (Laughs) How late are you gonna be working tonight?

Liam: Uh, I can be out of here in a couple hours.

Hope: Ooh, okay. Well, then I'm going to go home-- make that my mom's house--

Liam: (Chuckles)

Hope: I'm going to pick up a few things, and then I will come home... to you. Tonight, and every night after.

Ridge: Hope is moving in with Liam.

Brooke: As soon as she can get there.

Ridge: That's pretty sudden, don't you think?

Brooke: No, she put her life on hold with Liam for quite a while now... a life that Liam and Hope were going to start and Steffy blew apart.

Ridge: They're married, Logan.

Brooke: Divorcing.

Ridge: They're still married. I don't get it. Why does everything have to be in such a rush here? Hope and Liam break up. He marries Steffy the next day. Liam files for divorce. Hope breaks land speed records to move back in with him. Is it fair to assume she doesn't intend to live in platonic bliss?

Brooke: It's fair to assume.

Ridge: And that's okay with you?

Brooke: (Sighs) Ridge, they've waited a long time.

Ridge: What the hell happened to abstinence?

Brooke: (Sighs) Hope is ready. She loves Liam. She wants to move on with her life, and Steffy wants to wait for the divorce. That's her prerogative, but Hope just decided she doesn't want to wait anymore.

Liam: Stephanie. I have to say... (Chuckles) I'm genuinely surprised to see you again.

Stephanie: Really? You have no idea why I'm here?

Liam: I imagine it has something to do with Steffy.

Stephanie: No, Hope, and this, uh, decision that you've made.

Liam: Ah. You've heard we're moving in together.

Stephanie: Liam, you can't do this.

Liam: (Sighs)

Steffy: What's this?

Hope: Well, I thought I'd take one last shot at getting you to sign the annulment papers.

Steffy: And they all call me tenacious. Sorry, Hope, it's not gonna happen.

Hope: Nothing I can say to change your mind? Appeal to your better nature? Your pride perhaps?

Steffy: (Sighs) No. And, uh, why do you care?

Hope: (Scoffs) Why do I care?

Steffy: You've said it, like, a zillion times. Six months won't make a bum in the course of true love, so why don't you just enjoy the journey? Savor the anticipation. It's only six months.

Hope: That's your final word?

Steffy: Uh... yeah.

Hope: Okay.

Steffy: Wait. That's it? No crazy speech about how I'm sabotaging your life?

Hope: Mm, no, I'm fresh out of speeches today.

Steffy: Uh-huh. What's going on, Hope?

Hope: It's really very simple, Steffy. You're not in control anymore.

Ridge: What if you're wrong, Logan, about how all this works out?

Brooke: (Sighs) How could that possibly be?

Ridge: What if the unthinkable happens, and you are wrong? Liam decides that life with Hope pales in comparison to life with Steffy, and he goes back to his wife?

Brooke: Liam doesn't love Steffy the way he loves Hope. They're like us. They're meant to be together. They're soul mates, destiny. Nobody will ever keep them apart.

Ridge: Is that why you're hoping for this?

Brooke: (Sighs) I just feel it when I'm with them. It's--it's a maternal instinct.

Ridge: Well, at the risk of being a heretic, sometimes maternal instincts are proven to be wrong.

Brooke: (Singsong voice) Not this time.

Ridge: Look, I don't want Hope hurt, and I don't want Steffy hurt, but one of them certainly is going to be.

Brooke: (Normal voice) Steffy's going to be hurt, because Hope is taking back control of her life tonight.

Ridge: Maybe. But I don't think you can count on that being a final decision. I mean, what if it's not forever?

Brooke: Well, Liam could change his mind. So be it.

Ridge: Really?

Brooke: Sometimes you want something so desperately in life and you really try to make it happen, but you lose people and your heart gets broken. And the best thing that you can do is just pick yourself up and try to move on, and hopefully, you'll be a little bit wiser.

Ridge: Well, that's very philosophical of you, but apply that to your poor heartbroken daughter.

Brooke: Well, at least Liam and Hope would have had their chance.

Ridge: God, you make, like, a quirky kind of sense of things.

Brooke: It's a gift.

Ridge: Yes, you are. Yes, you are.

Stephanie: You're married to Steffy. You can't move in with Hope.

Liam: Respectfully, Stephanie, you can't tell me who to live with.

Stephanie: I can try.

Liam: (Chuckles)

Stephanie: Hope is a wonderful girl, and she's going to make some fellow very happy one of these days... just not you. And your father is right-- she's unsuitable.

Liam: I'm sorry. She--"unsuitable"?

Stephanie: She's a Logan. My granddaughter is a Forrester.

Liam: Uh--

Stephanie: She's smart. She's ambitious. She knows how to handle herself, and if I have to say so, she's hot.

Liam: (Chuckles)

Stephanie: There isn't anyone better for you than the woman you're already married to. Liam, talk to Hope. End this with her. Let her get on with her own life, and you get on with yours with Steffy.

Liam: (Sighs)

Steffy: Why are you so calm?

Hope: I'm accepting your decision not to sign the annulment papers. Isn't that what you want? For Liam and me to just accept whatever you say?

Steffy: It sounds like you don't even care.

Hope: Oh, well, I'd certainly rather you sign them, but... it doesn't matter anyway. It's not really gonna change anything.

Steffy: Change what?

Hope: (Chuckles) Oh. Well, you might as well hear it from me. I'm moving in with Liam-- tonight. And we're going to be together in every way. I mean, there's nothing we can do about the waiting period before we get married, but we don't have to stay frozen in place.

Steffy: Is Liam on board with this?

Hope: What do you think?

Steffy: Wow. You're really something, you know that? What about your... precious message? All your Hope for the Future acolytes?

Hope: (Scoffs) Don't even pretend that you care about them.

Steffy: So typical Logan-- Brooke with her sexuality, you with your purity. Different sides of the same coin-- using your body as a weapon.

Hope: (Chuckles) That is almost funny coming from you.

Steffy: At least I approach from the front, where you see me coming. I don't dress it up in pretty words like "fate" or "romance." You're stealing my husband, Hope. There is nothing beautiful or pure about it. It's immoral. It's adultery, Hope. You're committing adultery.
