Steffy: Whoa, whoa, whoa, who's coming on to Liam? I'm here with a date, all right? It's not my fault my husband's a little jealous.

Hope: (Scoffs)

Rick: Hey. (Clears throat)

(Bottles clink)

Liam: So... it's not gonna work. I mean, you--you know that, right?

Rick: (Clears throat) Am I supposed to know what you're talking about?

Liam: Don't do it, Rick. She's been though enough.

Rick: Do what? To whom?

Liam: Okay, I think it's fairly obvious that you're playing Steffy to get her to sign the annulment papers, right?

Rick: Isn't that what you want?

Liam: I don't want it from you.

Rick: So you're telling me you're willing to wait six months for a divorce.

Liam: Okay, Steffy's been burned before, and I don't want to see her go through this again.

Rick: I think you got her all wrong, partner.

Liam: I doubt it.

Rick: You see, Steffy and I, we're not-- we're not exactly strangers.

Liam: Oh, I-I know. I know that. Yeah, you used her once before, and I don't think any of us want to see a repeat.

Rick: Hey, I'd be careful if I were you. You're sounding a bit too protective for someone who's supposed to be going through a divorce.

(Cell phone rings)

(Ring)

Brooke: Hi. (Sighs)

Katie: Hey, you ready?

Brooke: Are you sure about this?

Katie: Yes. Brooke, come on. We're sisters. Our husbands have to learn how to get along.

Brooke: Bikini, huh?

Katie: Yeah, we'll keep it casual.

Brooke: I don't know, Katie.

Katie: Hey, no backing out!

Brooke: He's actually down for this?

Katie: He'll be there, yes.

Brooke: I guess Ridge will be there, too.

Katie: Good. I'll see you in a bit.

Brooke: (Chuckles) Okay.

Ridge: Tell me that was Katie canceling.

Brooke: No, that was Katie confirming.

Ridge: How about a night with just the two of us? Candlelight, dancing, warm massage oil-- I've got the bedroom all set up. Do you want to see it?

Brooke: Yes... after we come home from Bikini. (Chuckles) Mwah!

Ridge: Bill is not the one that's going to put me in the right mood here.

Brooke: Trust me... (Sighs) I will put you in the right mood when we come home. Let me get my coat.

Ridge: (Sighs)

(Door opens)

Bill: Hey.

Katie: Ready for some comfort food?

Bill: Yeah, I'm gonna grill us up some burgers.

Katie: It's not the same.

Bill: True. I won't suffer the heartburn that I would sitting at table with Ridge.

Katie: (Sighs) He's your brother-in-law. Try to remember that.

Bill: I've been trying to forget that since the day we got married.

Katie: He's part of the package, and I'd say it's a small price to pay, wouldn't you? Hmm?

Bill: Maybe you have a point.

Katie: Huh? (Laughs)

Brooke: Good to go?

Ridge: I better go change. Want to come up and help me?

Brooke: Oh, will you stop? This is going to be fun.

Ridge: You can't be serious. After all these years, you think you might know someone.

Brooke: I'm the same girl that you met a long time ago, the caterer's daughter. Remember her?

Ridge: Mm. Spending an evening with "Dollar" Bill Spencer is her idea of fun?

Brooke: Well, there's fun, and then there's... (Coyly) Fun.

Ridge: Now there's my Logan. Come on.

Brooke: (Laughs)

Ridge: Come on.

Brooke: (Normal voice) Wait a minute. Where are we going?

Ridge: Up to the bedroom to let the real fun begin.

Brooke: (Chuckles) Ridge.

(Indistinct conversation)

Liam: So I-I'm not supposed to care about Steffy? Is--is that your point?

Rick: Not for whom she goes out with.

Liam: But that's the thing, Rick-- you're not going out with her. You're taking her for a ride.

Rick: See, that's not where I think you're coming from. You see, Steffy, she's-- she's a hot one, and I think that's what worries you. And to tell you the truth, it's starting to worry me. Are you sure you're ready to move on with my sister?

Liam: (Pounds table) Your sister is my future. That doesn't mean I'm not looking out for Steffy. She's my friend. She always will be.

Rick: Yeah, she's my friend, too, friends with benefits, I hope.

Hope: Liam isn't jealous of Rick any more than I'm jealous of you.

Steffy: Oh, come on, Hope. I've been with Liam. You haven't. How could that not bother you?

Hope: Well, he's divorcing you.

Steffy: Mm-hmm, in six months. That's a long time to go without.

Hope: Liam respects my choices. He loves me for them, and that's why he's willing to wait.

Steffy: Okay, you know what? You have unrealistic ideals that you made very, very public, and now you're in a bind. No wonder you're in such a rush to make it to the altar.

Hope: A rush--excuse me?

Steffy: Hmm?

Hope: Steffy, you rushed in like a cat in heat the second you found out Liam and I had a falling-out.

Steffy: Okay, you broke off the engagement. He was free, and so was I.

Hope: Steffy! You tricked Liam into marrying you. Even you have admitted that.

Steffy: And I fought for my man, just like you are.

Hope: And you lost him. You have to accept that, Steffy. Look, Rick is a terrific guy.

Steffy: (Sighs)

Hope: He really likes you, and you have a history together. You should give him a chance.

Steffy: (Chuckles) Oh, Hope, don't go there. I am Steffy Spencer, and I will remain Steffy Spencer until the day I die.

Brooke: Mm. Okay.

Ridge: Hmm?

Brooke: (Chuckles) Okay, you've made your point. Aah! (Laughs)

Ridge: Good. You call Katie, I'll go light the candles.

Brooke: No. No, no, no. That's not what I meant. We re meeting them at Bikini.

Ridge: Really?

Brooke: Yes. I promised them we would be there.

Ridge: Oh, Logan, no. No, no, no, not-- not the state I'm in right here. Come on.

Brooke: I am not going to cancel on Katie and Bill just because you can't control yourself.

Ridge: I'm feeling a massive amount of rejection here.

Brooke: (Laughs) The first time, no doubt.

Ridge: Do we have to? Really?

Brooke: Yes. Yes, we have to.

Ridge: (Sighs)

Brooke: But... I will make it up to you when we come home.

Ridge: Hmm.

Brooke: Mm-hmm. (Chuckles) Come on.

Ridge: Mm.

Brooke: Come on.

Ridge: Mm-hmm.

Brooke: Here we go. Here we go.

Ridge: Mm-hmm.

Brooke: (Chuckles)

Ridge: Okay. (Sighs)

Bill: You know, baby, you really should go ahead. I have so much work to do.

Katie: Not tonight.

Bill: Really, I am swamped. Look--ay! Fingers. (Chuckles)

Katie: Please. You can come up with something better than that. Here, help me with this, please.

Bill: Uh, I'm really not feeling well.

Katie: Ohh, is there a cold coming on?

Bill: (Raspy voice) Flu. Flu.

Katie: Ohh, well, that's a little bit better. You know, illness is a lot more convincing.

Bill: What? You think I'm kidding? (Feigns coughing) Do you hear? Do you hear that?

Katie: (Laughs) Uh, yeah. My big bad husband never gets sick. Try again.

Bill: (Groans) (Normal voice) I would rather have pins stuck in my eyes than break bread with Ridge Forrester.

Katie: Oh, that's the man I know and love.

Bill: Then you understand.

Katie: (Chuckles) I do.

Bill: But it's not gonna work.

Katie: Nope, I'm afraid not.

Bill: How did Dollar Bill Spencer end up with a woman who can't accept no for an answer?

Katie: You love a challenge.

Bill: I love more than that.

Katie: Mm. And you'll get more than that... tonight.

Bill: Sweetening the pot, huh? Hmm? All right, let's get this over with.

Katie: Just so long as you're on your best behavior.

Bill: Or no dessert?

Katie: I'm so glad we understand each other.

Bill: (Laughs)

Katie: (Laughs)

Bill: Mm.

Katie: (Sighs) It'll be fun.

Bill: Yeah, we'll have fun.

Rick: (Clears throat) Steffy. You ready to get out of here?

Steffy: Um, you sure you don't want any dessert? What about you, Liam?

Liam: Um, uh, whatever. Hope?

Hope: (Sighs) Actually, I'd like to get home.

Rick: Come on, I'll take you back to the loft.

Hope: The loft?

Steffy: Yeah, where I used to live... before I got married.

Liam: Right, I thought you were staying with your mother.

Steffy: Yeah, but I like the privacy.

Hope: Privacy's a good thing.

Steffy: Yep. So when are you gonna move out?

Hope: Oh, the next time I move....

Rick: (Clears throat)

Hope: I'll be married.

Steffy: Mm. Well, the beach house is quite lovely.

Hope: Oh, I don't think we'll be staying there permanently.

Steffy: Well, you've got all the time in the world to think about that, don't you?

Hope: Yep, we sure do.

Rick: Well, this has been an interesting evening. (Clears throat)

Steffy: Yes, it has been very interesting.

Rick: Look, you guys have a nice night. Liam, I'm glad we had our little chat. You want to go to a club?

Steffy: You know, I-I'd rather just get home.

Rick: Even better you know what? Uh, get her home safely.

Hope: Rick.

Rick: What? Old habits, you--you know? Later, guys.

Brooke: Thank you. (Chuckles) Okay.

Ridge: Suddenly, I'm hungry.

Brooke: Oh, yes. (Sighs) It's all that unrequited foreplay.

Ridge: Your humor escapes me, Logan.

Brooke: Yeah? Well, there is a little smile there.

Ridge: That's a smirk of frustration.

Brooke: Nah.

Ridge: I can't imagine Bill's looking forward to this. Maybe he canceled out.

Brooke: (Laughs) Not a chance.

Ridge: One can hope.

Brooke: Oh, there they are.

Ridge: Oh.

Katie: Hey.

Brooke: Hi!

Katie: Hi, sorry we're late

Brooke: Oh, no, no. You're not late.

Katie: Okay. Mwah!

Brooke: Good to see you.

Katie: Good to see you, too. Hi.

Brooke: Hi, Bill.

Bill: Brooke, you look beautiful, as always.

Brooke: Thank you.

Ridge: Katie, you look fantastic.

Katie: Oh, thank you, Ridge.

Bill: Ridge.

Ridge: Bill.

Katie: This is so much fun!

Ridge: Like a barrel of monkeys.

Katie: (Chuckles)

Bill: I've been looking forward to this all week.

Ridge: Yeah, me, too.

Bill: I'll bet.

Brooke: Why don't we order some drinks?

Katie: Drinks. Drinks are great.

Brooke: (Chuckles) Yeah.

Woman: Hi, what can I get for you?

Katie: I'll have a glass of cabernet.

Brooke: Make that two, please.

Bill: Scotch, double.

Ridge: Scotch, triple.

Katie: See? Look how much you two have in common.

Bill: So how are the kids doing?

Brooke: They're good. (Sighs) Rick took a new position at Forrester.

Bill: Is that so?

Brooke: Mm-hmm. He's working on the Intimates line.

Bill: Steffy's collection.

Ridge: Rick volunteered. We got kind of short-handed with Couture.

Bill: Interesting.

Brooke: And as for Hope and Thomas, they're very, very busy.

Bill: How's Steffy doing?

Ridge: She's miserable.

Katie: Well, she'll get over it. I'm sure working with Rick is, uh, a help. I mean, they used to be close once, right?

Brooke: Mm-hmm.

Ridge: Not in recent years.

Brooke: Hmm. How's Liam?

Bill: You probably see as much of him as I do.

Ridge: He's got his hands full, doesn't he?

Brooke: Well... (Chuckles)

Katie: Uh, you know, I-I saw Hope's recent press conference.

Brooke: Mm-hmm.

Katie: And she's getting a ton of buzz on the Internet.

Brooke: Yes, we are very proud of her.

Katie: You should be. I mean, she's become quite a role model for many young women, and it's pretty phenomenal. (Chuckles)

Bill: (Clears throat)

Brooke: Sometimes I wonder how she's my daughter.

Katie: Well, you must have done something right.

Brooke: I think it's the opposite. I don't think she wants to do anything like her mother.

Katie: Oh, come on.

Bill: Yeah, come on, Brooke. You mean you didn't wait until you were married?

Katie: Hmm.

Hope: Thank you. Huh.

Liam: What?

Hope: Guess who is having dinner at Bikini right now?

Liam: Who?

Hope: Your parents and mine.

Liam: Oh.

Hope: (Chuckles)

Liam: Got out of there just in time.

Hope: Right? Yeah, that should be fun for them.

Liam: Yeah, more like awkward.

Hope: (Scoffs) Uh, yeah, kind of like our night. (Sighs)

Liam: (Sighs) Yeah. So how was your talk with Steffy?

Hope: Um, it was typical. She was being difficult. What did Rick have to say?

Liam: Oh, he's using her.

(Soda can pull tab pops)

Hope: He said that?

Liam: No, but come on. That's what he's doing.

Hope: Oh, how can you be sure?

Liam: Because he's done it before.

Hope: No, they're past all that.

Liam: Really? Are they?

Hope: Yeah. Steffy thinks you're jealous.

Liam: Protective, maybe, not jealous.

Hope: Protective? D-do you really think that Steffy needs to be protected from anyone? I mean, if someone's getting used in this situation, it's my brother.

Liam: Ha! That'd be a first.

Hope: (Gasps) S-Steffy is not going to cooperate, okay? She--she intends to make very good use of this waiting period.

Liam: Yeah, but... she knows it's over.

Hope: Okay, then why doesn't she just let you go?

Liam: Probably because this is hard on her and all she can think to do is make it hard on us.

Hope: Well, that's not right.

Liam: I know.

Hope: (Sighs) It's not. And we should be married right now, and the only reason we're not is because of her.

Liam: I just hope that you're not insecure about Steffy.

Hope: (Sighs) Look, I just-- I just want to be with you. I want to be your wife, your lover, your soul mate and we would have been married months ago, but she pulled that number on us. And now she's doing it again, and I just don't get why she won't leave us alone!

Liam: Okay, I know, I know. Okay, no more about Steffy, all right? We're alone. We're alone. Let's make the most of it.

Katie: Thank you. Well, to the men in our lives.

Bill: And the women who shape them.

Katie: Yeah.

Ridge: Hear, hear.

Katie: (Laughs)

Brooke: Oh, and to our sons and daughters.

(Glasses clinking)

Katie: Yes.

Bill: I'll drink to that.

Katie: You know, I think what Hope is doing is... (Chuckles) kind of remarkable.

Brooke: Mm-hmm. She's taking a stand and sticking with it. I just wish she didn't go so public.

Katie: Yeah, it kind of paints her into a corner. I mean, especially since she has to wait six months to marry Liam.

Bill: I think they both need to cool off.

Ridge: Amen to that.

Katie: Hope's been in the freezer for quite a while, thanks to Steffy.

Brooke: You know, I really didn't want to talk about this tonight, but Katie's right. I don't see why Hope and Liam have to wait six months to get married.

Bill: Well, that's determined by the State of California. If Liam wants a divorce, he has to wait six months.

Brooke: You don't want your son to start his life with the woman that he loves?

Bill: I think I have made my position clear. I like Hope. I just don't think she's right for my son.

Brooke: What are you talking about? They love each other. Liam adores her. You've seen them together.

Bill: Want to help me out here?

Ridge: No, I think you're doing pretty well on your own, Bill.

Bill: Thanks for the support.

Ridge: I've always got your back.

Bill: Here's the bottom line-- hope's a nice girl, but she is wholly inexperienced when it comes to the best thing that life has to offer. Liam has a lot of experience. He's been married-- to a beautiful woman. It wouldn't hurt him to take some time to decide what he really wants.

Brooke: Oh, I think he knows exactly what he wants.

Katie: Yes, he does.

Bill: I guess we'll see, won't we?

Ridge: You know, six months is really not the end of the world.

Bill: Why don't you give it a shot, Ridge? See how that works for you?

Ridge: I think it's time to order some food.

Katie: I agree. I'm starving.

Brooke: Hmm.

Katie: Here's your menu, baby.

Liam: This is nice, house all to ourselves.

Hope: Mm. I hope Mom and Ridge take their time. (Chuckles) I love being in your arms.

Liam: I love you.

Hope: Mm.

Hope: Mm. (Sighs) I wish we were married. (Giggles)

Liam: (Sighs)

Hope: (Sighs)

Liam: Why don't you-- why don't you come with me? Let's just go. Just let's... go to my place. Grab your stuff. We'll go to my place.

Hope: (Sighs)

Liam: We'll start our lives right now.

Hope: (Sighs)
