Steffy: F.Y.I.-- those dimples can only get you so far.

Rick: Well, then it's a good thing I've got the baby blues as a backup.

Steffy: Okay, you are so full of yourself, Rick.

Rick: And she loves me anyway.

Steffy: I used to love you.

Rick: Before Liam Spencer? A.K.A. Mr. Wonderful?

Steffy: He is to me.

Rick: You're wasting valuable time.

Steffy: I'll worry about that.

Rick: I'm not giving up on you, Steffy.

Steffy: You're wasting your valuable time.

Rick: Oh, no, no, no. Every second going after you is worth it.

Steffy: You know what? I think you're still conning me, makin' the moves to try to get me to sign those annulment papers. Of course, if you saw my Jane Hancock before you ran to Hope, you'd realize that.

Rick: (Chuckles) Oh! (Inhales sharply) Not gonna let me live that down, are you?

Steffy: (Sighs) Tell you what-- Rick Forrester, the man who wants me so bad, why don't you take me out to dinner? Wine and dine me? See if you can make some inroad?

Hope: (Inhales deeply) (Exhales slowly)

Liam: Hey.

Hope: Hey.

Liam: I, uh, I got you this.

Hope: Coffee? Oh, no, no, thanks. I'm--I'm hyped up enough.

Liam: No... (Chuckles) it's--it's herbal tea. It's chamomile. It's supposed to make you calm.

Hope: Oh. Thanks. I thought it was over. (Scoffs) I thought that we could finally get married, only to find out minutes later that Steffy tricked us.

Liam: I know. I don't think it's about tricking us so much as teaching Rick a lesson.

Hope: I know. I know. You--you think Rick never should have gotten involved.

Liam: I-it's just... bogus, you know? Trying to use old and forgotten feelings to, like, get to Steffy when she's vulnerable? It...

Hope: Liam, she made a joke out of signing these papers.

Liam: She could have handled that better, yeah.

Hope: (Scoffs) Doesn't she realize that she's messing with our lives? Who am I kidding? Of course she does. That's exactly what she wants.

Brooke: (Inhales deeply) Obviously... (Sighs) we don't see eye to eye.

Stephanie: Why did Rick ever come back from Paris? All he does is stir up a lot of trouble.

Brooke: (Sighs) That's not what he was doing.

Stephanie: (Chuckles) Only because Steffy's so smart. She saw what he was up to, and she turned the tables on him. Oh, thanks.

Brooke: His heart was in the right place.

Stephanie: Your son doesn't have a heart. Look, you stand here defending him.

Brooke: (Scoffs)

Stephanie: He tries to get her to sign these annulment papers, and you absolutely stand there and defend him. She as much as casts a sideward glance at Liam, and you're like... (Gasps) "She’ll destroy Hope's happiness." Could you be any more hypocritical?

Liam: Hey. I'm in love with you. I want to marry you.

Hope: Yeah, well, Steffy has other ideas.

Liam: I know. I just wish everyone would stay out of it.

Hope: (Sighs) "Everyone," meaning Rick?

Liam: "Everyone" meaning everyone-- I mean, my dad, your mom, Katie...

Hope: (Sighs)

Liam: Steffy's parents. Everybody thinks they know what's best for us, but it's our lives.

Hope: (Sighs)

Liam: Unh-unh, don't. Hey.

Hope: I--

Liam: Look, look, we're gonna forget about this, okay? We're gonna go to Bikini or something, have a bite to eat, maybe take a long walk down the beach...

Hope: (Chuckles)

Liam: Just you and me. How does that sound? Hey, cheer up. Tomorrow's one day closer.

Hope: Such an optimist.

Liam: Well, that's because I know everything's gonna work out in the end. I mean, one day, we're gonna look back on this, and we're gonna laugh.

Hope: (Laughs sarcastically)

Liam: (Laughs)

Hope: (Sighs) I just wish my brother would... I'm sorry. I know you do not want to hear that.

Liam: It's--no, it's just it--if he's only gonna try to take advantage of her, it's gonna backfire.

Hope: You never know-- he fell for her once, she fell for him. She's alone now. It could happen again.

(Indistinct conversations)

Steffy: What's wrong, big guy? Lookin' a little queasy.

Rick: (Sighs) You drive like a maniac. I'm surprised we made it here in one piece.

Steffy: Hey, you took me for a ride today-- at least you thought you did. But, uh, consider yourself lucky.

Rick: Yeah? How so?

Steffy: Well, I, uh, I could have maxed out your credit card at one of the most expensive restaurants in L.A.

Rick: Oh, so instead, you opt for an all-you-can-eat burger night at Bikini? Thanks for taking it so easy on my wallet.

Steffy: Yes, but not on you. You've got payback coming, and you know what they say about payback.

Rick: Uh, that it's hell?

Steffy: The way I deliver it? Definitely.

Stephanie: It wouldn't be so bad, you know.

Brooke: What?

Stephanie: A 6-month waiting period.

Brooke: (Scoffs)

Stephanie: For Hope, I mean, she's young, but--

Brooke: It wouldn't be so bad for Steffy. She's counting on using that time for her "advantage."

Stephanie: She doesn't want Liam rushing into another marriage.

Brooke: The way she got him to rush into theirs, you mean? We all saw how that one turned out.

Stephanie: That's not-- well, that's my point. Hope's very young. She has her whole life ahead of her, doesn't she? What's six months? I mean, if she and Liam are meant to be together--

Brooke: They are. Steffy just can't accept it.

Stephanie: Brooke, if she signs those annulment papers, it's as though the marriage never existed. She was never Mrs. Liam Spencer. Don't you think that hurts? Why can't Rick see that? What--I-I mean, he's just got to stop trying to use her this way.

Brooke: He's not using her. H's just getting her to see that she's ready to move on.

Stephanie: No. This is all about Hope and his trying to clear a path for her straight to Liam. Fortunately, Steffy's way ahead of him.

(Indistinct conversation)

Woman: Here are your burgers.

Steffy: Mmm!

Rick: Thank you. So after you devour your burger, do you want to, uh, head back to Forrester and finish that bottle of bubbly?

Steffy: Are you kidding?

Rick: What? I hate to see a $100 bottle of champagne go to waste.

Steffy: It didn't. I drank it-- well, when you were talking to Hope, convincing her that I'd caved to your irresistible charms.

Rick: Well, it happens to everyone sooner or later.

Steffy: Oh, really?

Rick: Mm-hmm.

Steffy: Don't flatter yourself, "dimples."

Rick: (Chuckles)

Steffy: Okay, no, seriously, for you and me, it's--it's strictly business.

Rick: Right, you're the boss, and... I'm just your slave.

Steffy: Okay, look, the Intimates line is very important to me, and sales are okay, but I just--

Rick: Not good enough.

Steffy: I just have a lot of plans for us, and I-I want to--

Rick: And that's where I come in.

Steffy: Don't let me regret not kicking your butt to the curb after the stunt you pulled earlier on.

Rick: It wasn't a stunt, Steffy.

Steffy: What, did you just want me to say, "Oh, Rick, lock the door. I want you so bad"?

Rick: Well, that definitely happens all the time-- women pulling me into their office, wanting a piece of Rick Forrester.

Steffy: Oh, my-- you are such a guy.

Rick: (Laughing)

Steffy: Oh, my God. (Chuckles)

Brooke: Rick isn't the issue here. It's what your granddaughter is doing-- dragging this out.

Stephanie: Hope's made the decision to abstain from sex until they're married. Those are the constraints that she's put on that relationship, and I think it's gonna cause problems.

Brooke: No, Liam loves Hope very much, and he's very supportive.

Stephanie: He loves Steffy, too. You can't turn those feelings of just like that. You, of all people, you know that. I honestly believe that Liam is more compatible with my granddaughter than he is with Hope.

Brooke: (Sighs) No. No, Stephanie, you're wrong.

Stephanie: Well, we'll see-- got a 6-month waiting period. Liam will have the chance to sort out his feelings, and... (Sighs) you may be surprised.

Liam: I don't believe it.

Hope: What?

Liam: After everything that just happened, Rick and Steffy are--

Hope: Well, we-- we don't know what happened, but from the looks of it, it's kind of like they're...

Liam: On a date? Right? Crazy.

Hope: Yeah, well, uh, maybe not. I mean, not when you think about how involved they once were.

Liam: It was really that serious?

Hope: It was... complicated, but--but they were engaged. They almost made it to the altar.

Liam: What happened?

Hope: Well, you know about Phoebe, right?

Liam: Steffy didn't really like to talk about it, but I know that losing her sister was the hardest thing she's ever had to face.

Hope: Rick was actually driving that night. Phoebe was with him, and she was really upset about something. And I guess she--she panicked for some reason, and she grabbed the wheel. I... Steffy, she really never told you about any of this?

Liam: No. No.

Hope: Um, it was really bizarre, actually, becau--because it wasn't until after the wreck and Phoebe's death that they even got together.

Liam: Wi-- w-with the man behind the wheel?

Hope: Steffy makes some weird choices sometimes.

Rick: It, uh, still hurts seeing him with my sister, doesn't it? I'm gonna get us a couple more beers.

Liam: I know what Rick tried to do. Steffy, I wasn't aware of the history between you two, and I didn't know he would use it to try to manipulate you. I'm sorry.

Steffy: Excuse me?

Liam: Hope told me that--that back in the day, Rick was hell-bent on--on getting back at your dad.

Steffy: (Sighs)

Liam: I-I just want you to know I wasn't behind this, okay? I was already uncomfortable with Rick confronting you about the annulment papers, and if I had known any of this, there's no way I would have let him.

Steffy: It's cool. I can take care of myself.

Liam: Uh... right. Yeah, no, I--that's good.

Steffy: Yeah.

Liam: That's, um-- I guess I just-- I don't understand why you're here with him then.

Steffy: You're jealous.

Liam: No, I--you--

Steffy: It bugs you seeing me with him, doesn't it?

Rick: Hey.

Hope: Hey. So, uh, you and Steffy seem good together. Is it happening? Are you coming through for me?

Rick: Well, listen, uh I need a little more time. She's still hung up on Liam.

Hope: No, time-- no, it--it can't take that long. That's the whole point. We need to move on!

Rick: I know. I want that, too.

Hope: Please, Rick. Please, come through for me.

Rick: Well, you know, I better, um... (Clears throat) better get back over to the boss lady.

Liam: Yeah. Um... what was that about?

Hope: Uh, he's just worried about me. What'd you say to Steffy?

Liam: I--

Rick: Thought you could use this.

Steffy: You know what? Um, let's pay the check, and, uh, let's bail, okay? That's for the, uh-- no, no, it's--

Rick: No, no, no. You're--you're not paying that. That wasn't our deal.

Steffy: Fine. That's fine.

Rick: Hmm. "Steffy Spencer."

Steffy: That's who I am... until the judge tells me I'm not. (Sighs) Oh, God. I never thought I-- I wanted to be a Spencer, you know? But when it happened, it... (Sniffles) like, I felt this... connection, you know? And I don't want to lose that. I've been infatuated before, but... I have never been in love like this.

Hope: (Laughing)

Liam: (Speaking indistinctly)

Hope: Really?

Steffy: (Sighs) (Inhales sharply) (Sighs)

Rick: I haven't seen you...

Steffy: (Sniffles)

Rick: Upset like this since you lost your sister. Look, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have messed with your emotions while you're hurting.  Will you forgive me?

Steffy: (Sighs quietly) (Sighs)

Rick: It's okay.

Brooke: Hope and Liam are in love. They want to get on with their lives.

Stephanie: Well, that's going to take a while if they're going to live under the constraints of Hope's rules.

Brooke: You're really enjoying this, aren't you?

Stephanie: (Laughs) I think it's so interesting, watching you defend the sanctity of the marital bed.

Brooke: (Sighs) It's just that Steffy isn't going to gain anything, and don't you think that she owes Hope and Liam some of that time back that she stole?

Stephanie: No, I don't think she owes your daughter anything. I wish you'd call Rick off, keep him away from Steffy, because if you don't, I will.

Steffy: (Sniffles)

Rick: I'm gonna take care of the bill.

Steffy: Okay. (Sniffles) (Sighs)

Hope: Hey

Steffy: (Sighs) Hey.

Hope: You feeling guilty?

Steffy: Actually, no, I'm not.

Hope: Really? After making us think you signed the annulment papers when it was all just a big joke to you.

Steffy: No, this isn't a joke.

Hope: Then why are you doing this?

Steffy: Doing what?

Hope: Refusing to let Liam go.

Steffy: I have let him go. I've given him a divorce.

Hope: But you are still trying so desperately to hang on to him.

Steffy: I don't want to be played, Hope.

Hope: Well, I don't like the way you're stringing this out. I am trying to do something significant here-- not only for me, but for Forrester, for our image, for young women all over the world. I want to get on with my life with the man that you stole from me.

Steffy: I didn't steal him. I was there when you weren't.

Hope: Yeah, so conveniently, I might add-- at his bachelor party, in Aspen while I was trapped, forced to watch you two get married.

Steffy: Oh, come on. I didn't twist his arm. I didn't hold a gun to his head.

Hope: No, you just made sure that he and I didn't talk first, because if we had, you and I wouldn't be having this conversation right now.

Steffy: You know what? I don't--I don't think I'd be too sure about that. Hope, remember? You were the one that hurt him.

Hope: Yeah, and I will always regret that. But you cannot compare what you two had or the way your marriage started to--

Steffy: You don't know anything about my marriage.

Hope: I know that Liam wants out.

Steffy: Liam feels a sense of obligation to you. That doesn't mean he doesn't love me or that he understands that I need this time. A marriage is a lifelong commitment, and he needs to give this a lot of thought before he just rushes into another marriage. Yeah, Hope, the divorce is filed. But that doesn't mean it's over for us. It's far from over. You know what? I don't think we ever will be.
