Liam: Tell me one word I have said that isn't true.

Bill: Can't. I'm the bastard you say I am. Why else would I create a fake illness, manipulate lives.

Liam: But-- but you're not even sorry. I mean, you-- you would do it again. You've learned nothing.

Bill: I've learned what it feels like to have the son that I love look at me the way you are now. I've learned what it feels like to realize that our relationship has changed completely, and that I could lose you completely if I don't fall on my sword.

Liam: Which the mighty Bill Spencer never does.

Bill: Till now. Till this.

(Door opens)

Hope: (Sighs)

Brooke: Oh. (Sighs) I saw Katie leaving. I called to her, and I guess she didn't hear me.

Hope: Mm.

Brooke: Honey, you okay?

Hope: (Sighs) I will be, once Liam makes his decision about his marriage.

Brooke: I wonder why he hasn't. He and Steffy are separated. She's living at her mom's, and whatever Steffy has done...

Hope: No, it's not just what Steffy's done.

Brooke: What does that mean?

Hope: (Inhales sharply) (Sighs)

Brooke: There's more to this than you're telling me, isn't there?

Hope: (Sighs)

Steffy: Ohh.

Taylor: I still say it's a miracle. (Chuckles) Mm.

Steffy: Okay, I get it. Enough. Seriously, Mom. Oh, my God.

Taylor: I'm sorry. I can't help it. I'm just so grateful. Even the doctors are blown away how quickly you got better

Steffy: (Sighs)

Taylor: I-it's not what they predicted. I-I still don't fully understand.

Steffy: Well, what's to understand, you know?

Taylor: (Sighs)

Steffy: M.R.I.s don't lie. It's--it's gone. It's like, um, it's like it never existed. But my marriage still does. And even though Liam and I aren't living together right now, I-I didn't do what he thought, and he knows it. No, other-- other forces were at play. That has to make a difference, right? How can it not?

Taylor: Well, sweetheart, I realize that your father asked you about this before, and you told him that you didn't want to discuss your father-in-law, but does Bill Spencer have anything to do with this in some way?

Steffy: (Sighs) Bill's always involved when it comes to his son.

Taylor: Is that your way of saying yes?

Steffy: It's my way of saying "it's complicated." But what really matters... (Sighs) is what happens now.

Taylor: In your marriage.

Steffy: Liam hasn't committed to Hope. As much as she and Brooke are hoping he will doesn't mean it's actually gonna happen. (Sighs) Mm. But I gotta be honest, the longer my husband and I are apart, the more concerned I am.

Hope: Mom, I don't want you worrying about this, okay?

Brooke: Sweetheart, I was there on the rooftop when Liam came to you. I saw how he kissed you. There is no doubt in my mind how much he loves you.

Hope: Or mine. But he-- he cares about Steffy, and--and he respects marriage.

Brooke: You don't think he's going to stay with her?

Hope: No. No, I don't. There has been too much deception. That marriage was a lie from the beginning. It's my turn now.

Liam: I didn't do this, Dad. We are in this situation because you--

Bill: I didn't want you to make the biggest mistake of your life by giving up on your marriage to be with a girl who helps you be the best you can be.

Liam: No, st--no, stop it. Stop it. You are not doing this ever again. Now if I had told you to butt the hell out of my life, none of this would have happened. But I didn't, and here we are, and now I don't know if I can ever trust you again.

Bill: (Sighs) All right, how can I fix this? Tell me, and I'll do it.

Liam: I can tell you it's not a business deal. Lives aren't contracts. You can't just expect me to--

Bill: Yeah, I know. I know, I know, I know. It's gonna take some time. I get it.

Liam: Oh, a lot of time, and not just from me. You are lucky that the people you hurt the most are staying quiet, `protecting you. I mean... (Stammers) who knows why Steffy would want to... good God, Dad! I mean, for weeks, she thought that she had a ticking time bomb in her head. Do you know how that must have felt? An, and I-I tried to do everything I could to--to help--

Bill: Of course you did, because you're her husband. You care about her.

Liam: Of course I care about her. I've never stopped loving her despite our issues.

Bill: Then go to her. She's your wife. Work this out. Son, I'm telling you--

Liam: No. No, no, no! This is my decision! You have interfered in my life for the last time.

Bill: Because I'm trying to give you some perspective.

Liam: Your perspective. Your perspective, in the name of-- of helping me see this thing that I'm not seeing. Maybe I do see. Maybe I've seen what you see all along. But whether I stay with Steffy or I end our marriage to go be with Hope, you will respect my decision or risk ruining our relationship forever. Do you understand me? Forever.

Steffy: Mom, you are not gonna be doing this the whole time I'm here.

Taylor: What, baby you? What?

Steffy: Not that I don't like being waited on hand and foot. Thank you.

Taylor: (Sighs) I know you hate it, but you might as well allow me to because you're not going to be here that long.

Steffy: I think you're right, yeah. I don't know what Liam's thinking, but I know what he's feeling about commitment and marriage, and I've gotta believe in my heart that—

(Cell phone rings)

Steffy: Hey. Uh, my mom and I were just talking about you.

Liam: You're at your mom's house?

Steffy: Yeah. Where are you? At the office?

Liam: No, I'm at our place. Can you come over?

Steffy: Uh, yeah. Yeah, I can. I, um, I'm on my way. Okay, I think this is gonna be the shortest separation on record.

Taylor: Oh, sweetheart. I really hope so.

Steffy: Oh! Mm. (Sighs)

Hope: (Sighs) The waiting is just... (Scoffs)

Brooke: I know. (Sighs) I've been there.

Hope: Yeah, you and Ridge.

Brooke: Ridge and Taylor. For so long, I never knew where I stood.

Hope: He chose you.

Brooke: I know... (Sighs) and I couldn't be happier. Our life today is how I've always imagined it, even in those darkest times when I thought it would never happen.

Hope: Mm, but you never gave up.

Brooke: Mnh-mnh, and neither have you. But there's one big difference-- your life doesn't revolve around Liam the way mine did with Ridge. I mean, if you had to, you could pick up your life and move on. You always had more strength than I did, and I'm so proud of you, sweetheart.

(Cell phone rings)

Hope: (Inhales deeply)

Brooke: Liam? (Ring)

Hope: Mm-hmm. (Clears throat) Hey, what's up?

Liam: Can you comer to the beach house?

Hope: Okay. Liam, you know what? Never mind. I will, um, I-I'll be there soon. (Sighs)

Brooke: He's made a decision?

Hope: I think so. (Sighs)

Brooke: Just remember, no matter what happens, you will be all right.

Hope: (Sighs)

Brooke: (Chuckles) Come here.

Taylor: Doesn't Pam work here anymore? She's never at her desk when I come by.

Brooke: Looking for Ridge?

Taylor: Y-yes. Is he around?

Brooke: Well, he was earlier. Is there something you need?

Taylor: Well, um, we're going to be having a conversation about our daughter. You may be aware she moved back home for a little bit.

Brooke: (Chuckles) I don't know what you want me to say. It's not like it came as a huge surprise.

Taylor: Well, it doesn't matter if it's a surprise, because things have changed, or they're about to.

Brooke: Why?

Taylor: Because just before I left, Liam called, and he asked to see Steffy.

Brooke: She's on her way there right now?

Taylor: Yes, and if things go the way she's hoping, they will be back together, and she will be living with her husband in their home, and they will be moving on with their lives.

Brooke: (Sighs) I don't mean to burst your bubble, but Steffy isn't the only one that Liam called. He wants to see Hope, too.

Steffy: Nothing's changed. That's gotta be a good sign. Of course, I've only been gone for a day. It just... seems longer. Look, um, I moved out because I-I know that you needed time to think. You know what? That's not entirely true. Actually, um, I moved out because I know if-- if I--if I didn't move out, you would have. And I didn't want to feel the way I did when my father walked out on me. No, L... (Sighs) only that's just-- seems like another excuse for all the hurtful, stupid things I've done in the past. But I am through with excuses. I have to deal with my insecurities, and I am. But I am here with you, and this... (Sighs) this really feels like home. You mean so much to me, and I love you... so much.

Hope: Hey, it's me.

Steffy: Please tell me this is some kind of bizarre coincidence.

Liam: It's not.  I invited you both here.

Hope: Okay. Um, does this mean you've made a decision?

Steffy: Yeah, Liam. What happens to all of our futures?

Taylor: So... Liam has asked to see both of our daughters at the same time?

Brooke: Only Hope and Steffy don't know that. They think that they're--

Taylor: It doesn't matter what they think. The question is, what is Liam thinking?

Brooke: I'm sure he'll be very sensitive letting Steffy down.

Taylor: You mean, letting Hope down.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Taylor: (Chuckles) You honestly don't know where this fantasy world of yours ends. You really ought to be concerned about Hope. Liam takes his vows very seriously, and he has already forgiven Steffy.

Brooke: How many mistakes should Liam be expected to forgive? Especially when he is still in love with Hope.

Liam: I knew this would be hard.

Hope: It's been difficult for us, too, waiting the wondering.

Liam: I know. I know that.

Steffy: Look, we know that you needed time. Liam, whatever you decide, it will change everything, or I... (Sighs)

Hope: Or-- or Steffy will move back in and... unless she already has. Have you?

Liam: (Sighs) Steffy, every day with you is an adventure, and I mean, you... you taught me to be spontaneous. I... you've added twists and turns to my life, and I love your energy. I-I-I love your fearlessness. And I never quite know what's coming next with you, which is...

Steffy: (Laughs)

Liam: Altogether exciting and... terrifying. Hope... (Laughs) I mean, where do I start? You're the first woman I ever loved...

Steffy: (Sighs)

Liam: And you--you taught me what true love is and--and what it can conquer and what it can't.  (Sighs) So much has--has happened recently, you know?

Steffy: (Sighs)

Liam: Cabo, my father's lie...

Steffy: (Sighs)

Liam: The hell it put my wife through. And, Steffy, you know, seeing how brave you were throughout all that really... helped me appreciate the woman I married. And I don't take marriage lightly.

Hope: Liam, do you want a moment to talk to Steffy?

Liam: Would you understand?

Hope: (Sighs)

Steffy: Liam, I love you, more than I ever thought I could love any man (Inhales sharply) this ring... I don't want to take it off. Tell me that that's what you feel. You feel the same. Is it? Is that what you were gonna tell me?  Are we staying married, or not?
