Liam: So any change?

Doctor: No. Her C.T. scan is negative for intracranial bleeding. Her vitals are good. Those are positive signs.

Thomas: But she's still unconscious.

Liam: Why won't she wake up? (Sighs)

Bill: The doctor's in with her? Good tell him to call me the minute he gets out. I know you just gave me an update. I want to hear it from him. No change. But they are monitoring Steffy very closely. If there's any change, they'll know right away, and so will we.

Taylor: How much longer till we get there?

Bill: We should be starting our descent pretty soon.

Taylor: Steffy and Liam go away on a vacation to Mexico to relax and... now Steffy ends up unconscious in some hospital. I just don't know how this could happen.

Woman: (Speaking Spanish)

Thomas: (Sighs)

Hope: Thomas, hey. Hey. You heard the doctor, okay? He said that Steffy's vital signs are good.

Thomas: Then why won't she wake up?

Hope: She will.

Thomas: We don't know that. You hear about head injuries like this... (Scoffs) Things that can happen. (Sniffles)

Thomas: Why were you chasing us? Steffy wouldn't have been on that A.T.V. if it wasn't for you.

Hope: Thomas, no, don't.

Thomas: No. No. You couldn't just leave us alone. You're on vacation with your wife, but you saw Hope, and you decided to chase after her? Liam, this is your fault you made this happen.

Brooke: Okay, just call me as soon as you know anything. They're landing in Cabo, and Bill spoke to the doctor. (Sighs) Steffy's still unconscious.

Katie: Bill spoke to the doctor?

Brooke: Katie, your husband doesn't just get involved. He takes charge.

Katie: And how does Ridge feel about that? I mean, Steffy is his daughter.

Brooke: He's grateful for Bill's help. How do you feel about it?

Ridge: Okay, Bill's driver will meet us on the tarmac and take us straight to the hospital. We'll be with Steffy soon.

(Monitor beeping)

Thomas: I'm here, Steff. Come on. It's time to wake up. Everybody's waiting. (Sniffles) We just want to know you're okay. Please, if you can hear me, just open your eyes. Come on, Steff. (Sighs) I'm right here. Just look at me. Please wake up. (Sniffles)

(Telephone rings)

Hope: Hey. Thomas, didn't mean that.

Liam: Yeah, he did.

Hope: No, he's just-- he's upset. We all are.

Liam: Well, he's right. I mean. If I hadn't gone after you--

Hope: Oh, Liam, you-- you thought I was in trouble. You can't blame yourself.

Liam: (Sighs) I don't know, Hope and I saw you on the beach. I didn't think about what would happen. I wasn't thinking about Steffy.

Hope: Liam, this was an accident. You never meant for her to get hurt.

Katie: Have you heard from Ridge?

Brooke: No. Have you heard from Bill?

Katie: No. (Sighs) He's not thinking about me right now.

Brooke: (Scoffs) Steffy is his daughter-in-law.

Katie: Yes. And Liam needs his father's support.

Brooke: But you're wondering if that's the real reason he rushed down there, right?

Katie: (Sighs)

(Telephone rings)

(Ring)

Hope: How is she?

Liam: No change at all?

(Ring)

Woman: (Speaking Spanish)

Ridge: How is she?

Taylor: Hi.

Thomas: Hi.

Bill: Is she awake?

Liam: Not yet.

Doctor: I'm Doctor Rivera, Steffy's doctor. And you are?

Liam: Uh, this is my dad.

Ridge: We're Steffy's parents.

Taylor: How is she?

Dr. Rivera: There are no signs of hemorrhage or tearing of the brain tissue. The skull wasn't fractured in the fall.

Taylor: (Sighs)

Dr. Rivera: If she was conscious, I would categorize this as a mild T.B.I., but her lack of response if cause for concern.

Bill: What are you doing for her?

Dr. Rivera: Giving her brain its best chance for recovery-- administering fluids and oxygen, closely monitoring her blood pressure and checking for seizures.

Thomas: Seizures?

Dr. Rivera: She hasn't had one. That's a good sign.

Taylor: I need to see her.

(Monitor beeping)

Ridge: (Mouths words)

Taylor: (Sniffles)

Ridge: Steffy, sweetheart it's dad, and mom's here, too. We're gonna stay here with you until you get better. The doctors and the nurses are, uh, taking care of you very well, and everybody back home is saying a lot of prayers. We love you, sweetheart.

Taylor: (Sniffles) Hey. (Sighs) Hey, everything's gonna be just fine, okay? (Sniffles) You just need to wake up. (Sighs) All right? Then we can go home. Hey, can you open your eyes? (Sniffles) We're all right here. All of us are right here beside you. Your--your father's here and--and Thomas. And Liam-- Liam's outside. We love you so much. I know this is hard, honey, but you're strong. You have so much to live for. You have your family and your husband. (Sniffles) I know you can do this, okay? You will get through this. We will get through this. (Sniffles)

Thomas: She looks like she's sleeping.

Ridge: Doctor, how long has she been like this?

Dr. Rivera: She was unconscious when the medics brought her in. (Speaks Spanish) I'm sorry. Uh, my examination won't take long.

Taylor: (Sighs) (Sniffles)

Bill: So that's how it happened? Steffy lost control of her A.T.V.

Thomas: She was going really fast.

Liam: Hope and I... didn't know that we were at the same resort. It was Steffy and Thomas who made all the arrangements.

Bill: What does that have to do with anything?

Liam: Because all of a sudden, I see Thomas taking off on an A.T.V. with Hope on the back. I mean, I-I couldn't believe it. What was I supposed to think? I started chasing after them to catch up.

Ridge: You were chasing them?

Taylor: And Steffy was chasing after you? Oh, Liam.

Liam: You-- you should have seen Hope. She was really out of it, okay? I-I should--

Thomas: Oh, come on, Liam. She was fine. She was with me.

Liam: She was not fine, Thomas, okay? She had been drinking, and you decided to put her on the back of an A.T.V. and start hauling ass? What is wrong with you? And besides, I didn't--I didn't know that Steffy was following me.

Thomas: Oh, you didn't-- you didn't know, or you didn't care?

Hope: Thomas.

Liam: Okay, you should have slowed down. You know what?

Bill: All right, enough. Enough! Steffy is in there fighting to regain consciousness, and you two are bickering about your vacation plans. From this point forward, we are all here, all of us, for Steffy.

Brooke: (Sighs) This isn't the first time that Bill's come to Steffy's rescue.

Katie: Yes, my husband can be quite the hero, especially when Steffy needs him to be.

Bill: How is she doing?

Dr. Rivera: She's stable.

Bill: But not out of the woods. She could get worse.

Dr. Rivera: A head injury like this can be unpredictable. The C.T. scan can only tell so much.

Bill: All right, well, listen, Doc, just say the word, and I will have one of the finest neurologists in the world flown in here.

Dr. Rivera: We have top neurologists here. I understand it's frustrating to be told nothing can be done.

Bill: (Sighs)

Dr. Rivera: But right now all we can do is monitor Steffy's condition and respond if it changes.

(Door opens)

Bill: All right. (Sighs) You've got my attention. I flew all the way down to Mexico for you. You've got nothing to say? You've always been able to count on me, Steffy. If you're in trouble, I'm there. If you need anything, I'm the one you call. I've done the impossible for you, and I will do it again. But this one, you have to do on your own. You have to fight. You have to fight your way back, and I know you can do it, because I know what you're capable of. Come back to us. Do it for your family. Do it for Liam. Do it for me.

Bill:  Where's Liam?

Thomas: He's outside.

Liam: Do you know where I--

Bill: Come here what were you thinking, chasing after Hope?

Liam: Look, Thomas heard me calling after them, all right? He didn't stop.

Bill: Yeah, I wouldn't have stopped, either, if a married man was chasing my girlfriend.

Liam: All right, I got it. I got it. What did the doctor say?

Bill: What did the doctor say?

Liam: Yeah.

Bill: Oh, do you want to know how your wife is doing? She's right in here. Have you been there?

Liam: Dad, I've been with Steffy ever since the accident.

Bill: You should be there now.

Liam: Look, I want her to wake up just as much as anybody, okay? I hate seeing Steffy like this. But you know what I hate more? Being lied to, and that's exactly what Steffy did. She knew that Thomas and Hope were at the same resort as us, and she and Thomas conspired to keep Hope and I from seeing each other.

Bill: Well, I guess for good reason, right? Look at how you reacted. You jump on an A.T.V...

Liam: The--Dad--

Bill: And go chasing down the beach like a maniac?

Liam: No, that wasn't even the first time. I thought I saw Hope earlier, and then this mariachi band, like, accosted me and started playing the same damn song over and over again, And I'll bet you--I will bet you, Dad-- that Steffy orchestrated that to keep me distracted.

Bill: All right. All right. Stop with-- stop with the conspiracy.

Liam: It's not a conspiracy-- Dad, it's a pattern, all right? The plotting is--

Bill: Your wife is in there unconscious.

Liam: (Sighs)

Bill: She might have brain damage. What Steffy needs right now is for you-- you to be strong for her.

Liam: So I should just, what, ignore what she did?

Bill: It's not important.

Liam: It's important to me, all right? Steffy and I have to be able to trust each other, right?

Bill: Trust each other, huh? Hmm. Well, you must have inspired so much trust in Steffy today. I mean, she must have been feeling all warm and fuzzy inside watching her husband chasing after his ex. Listen to me...

Liam: (Sighs)

Bill: What Steffy needs right now is all the love and support that you can give her. You and Hope were at the same resort, and your wife didn't want you to realize that. Big deal. You're not gonna leave her over it. You're not going to end your marriage because of it. You do not want to be with ‘that prim little prom queen’. You will be miserable. You might not realize it now, but I'm telling you, you will be miserable. Okay, Steffy can be a little trouble now and again. She's worth it, because she is exceptional.

Liam: Oh, my God. Dad, can you just lay off on that? You know, when you talk about her, it is so--

Bill: Let me tell you something. I'm trying to make you understand how lucky you are. I am trying to get your head screwed on straight.

Liam: I don't like to be manipulated. Ever since Steffy and I got together... okay, from the very beginning, I have had this feeling, and the strangest stuff keeps on happening, Dad-- the--the wedding on the mountaintop, and the thing with Hope in the gondola, and the same damn thing is happening here in Cabo. The same thing. Steffy could have just said, "Hey, Liam, do you know Hope and Thomas are at the same resort as us?" But she didn't. She lied. She had to lie. And now she's laying in a hospital bed unconscious. This is out of control. It's out of my control. And there's only one thing I can do to fix that.

Bill: What are you saying?

Liam: Look, I... (Sighs) I gotta talk to Steffy about it first, okay? She's my wife, and I owe her that much, but this whole thing with Hope and Steffy and me, it can't go on.

Bill: (Sighs)

Liam: I've made a decision.
