Jackie: You have got a little bit of the devil in you.

Rick: I'm just a realist.

Jackie: Oh?

Rick: Have you seen Owen and Bridget? Okay, little baby Logan is not even a day old yet, and he's already drawing Mommy and Daddy together. Jackie, all I'm saying is if the worst happens, it might be smart to keep your options open.

Bridget: I don't know what to do, Owen. I have no idea.

Owen: This is simple.

Bridget: My feelings are not simple.

Owen: We have got a family to think about now. That's gotta be our number one priority, and everything else has gotta come second.

Amber: (Sighs)

(Door closes)

Amber: Wow.

Brooke: I'll ask you again.

Amber: Sorry, um, it's just, uh, it's like déjà vu being in here.

Brooke: Amber, you said you needed to speak to me.

Amber: Yeah. Right. Right. Uh, let me just start by saying you look really great. (Sighs) Okay. Um, yeah, I'll--I'll just-- I'll get to the point. You and I, we don't really have the best history. In fact, uh, I wasn't even sure you were gonna let me in the door. And I went to Forrester Creations, and I didn't quite get the warm welcome I was hoping for.

Brooke: Hmm. Did that surprise you?

Amber: Not really. Then I realized if I want to know what's going on around here, I should talk to the woman in the middle of everything.

Brooke: What's going on?

Amber: With Rick. Is he available?

Brooke: That's why you're here? You want to ask me about my son's love life?

Amber: It's worth a shot. I figured I might get a little goodwill from the one person who needs a second chance more than I do.

Bridget: Family is the most important thing.

Owen: Yeah, we're parents now, and that changes everything.

Bridget: It just makes the in--the intensity of our connection overwhelming. The pull can...

Owen: Yeah. Yeah, I know. It--you know, it's like... I don't know. It's like surfing.

Bridget: (Laughs)

Owen: You know, you, uh, been waitin' all day for that wave, that, uh, that perfect wave. And there you are. You're just standing there right on the edge of it. It's exhilarating. It's--it's terrifying.

Bridget: (Sighs)

Owen: And if we let ourselves get swept up in it, it... we just... Bridget, we've gotta-- we've gotta keep our heads straight here. All right, this energy is-- is fun. It is. But it's gonna be dangerous. And I love Jackie. And I know you do, too.

Bridget: Yeah.

Owen: And neither of us-- we--we don't want to do anything to hurt her.

Rick: Jackie, Jackie, the point I'm trying to make...

Jackie: Hmm?

Rick: Is that if things don't go entirely according to your original plan, it may not be the worst thing in the world.

Jackie: Hmm. And if I need a shoulder, I can have one of yours?

Rick: A shoulder's great. It's just fine. But I have other parts that might be of more interest to you.

Jackie: And what part... (Sighs) is it about me that interests you, Rick?

Rick: Well, what doesn't interest me about you? I know what you expect me to say. It's your world-class sophistication, your attitude, your perspective on the world. That's what all young guys say when they're intrigued by an older woman, but not me. No, I look at you, and I just see a woman, period. A smart, sexy, successful--

Jackie: Married. Married.

Rick: I was gonna say interesting. I know you're married, okay? You got your young stud in the stable, and--and he worships you. He gives you everything your heart desires. You were the center of his universe until yesterday.

Jackie: And now the fun's over?

Rick: Well, okay, think about it this way, right? Over here, this is your oasis that you've created. The bathtub-- everything happened over here. But in a few week's time, this thing is gonna be riddled with floating rubber duckies and plastic toys that spit water. Your boy toy is exchanging-- turning in, if you will-- magnums of champagne for formula in baby bottles.

Jackie: Well, Owen's not going to trade me in for anything or anyone. So you can stop the seduction routine, Rick, because I do know a smoke screen when I see one.

Rick: I'm not gonna deny it.

Owen: I mean, who knows what we're really feeling? Neither one of us has slept, and we're on this incredible high.

Bridget: (Sighs) (Sniffles) I'm sure my hormones are going crazy.

Owen: Yeah, it's a lot to wrap your head around. Logan's our child. And we're responsible for him un--until he becomes an adult.

Bridget: I know. Every single choice we make, it's gonna affect him.

Owen: That's why we have to stay grounded.

Bridget: (Sighs) Right. This emotion is so much bigger than anything I've ever felt.

Owen: There's a bond. I'm not gonna deny it. I mean, I look at him, and I look at you, and I just... something's changed. I'm not the same man that I was yesterday. I'm a father.

Bridget: I know.

Owen: I'm a father. And I've--I've entered into this new and awesome relationship with you. But--but I'm still married to Jackie, and--and she's a part of this.

Bridget: Uh, we should remember, this may not even be happening if it weren't for her understanding and support. I mean, I could have been under so much stress during the pregnancy, and given my history--

Owen: No, Bridget, but listen to me. You--you're beyond that. It's behind you. You have created this beautiful and healthy baby boy now.

Bridget: (Laughs) And I just want him to be so proud of us.

Owen: Listen, then we cannot give into these feelings. All right, come on. I mean, if Jackie ever heard us talking like this, it...

Bridget: I know.

Owen: She's already forgiven us so much already, and I can't do that to her. I don't think that you could either.

Brooke: Are you trying to endear yourself to me, or get yourself thrown out?

Amber: We've both seen our fair share of scandals, Brooke.

Brooke: Yes, and I've weathered mine, thank you very much. So if you thought you could catch me at a disadvantage--

Amber: Maybe you could help me.

Brooke: Help you? Help you get reacquainted with my son?

Brooke: (Laughs)

Amber: Look, Rick and I, we've seen each other a few times since I've been back, and it was really nice. I thought we were rekindling that old flame. But now I don't know. I mean, I-I've left him a few messages, and he--he hasn't called back.

Brooke: Amber, if Rick wants to talk to you, I'm sure he'd call.

Amber: I'm not asking you to track your son down, Brooke. Okay? I'm not stalking him. I just--I thought that maybe we clicked. But, um, maybe I'm wrong. Am I? I mean, if I'm barkin' up the wrong tree here, would he just let me know?

Rick: You really think that I'm trying to play you?

Jackie: (Clears throat) I think you're being a good big brother.

Rick: Okay, you have to listen to me. I am genuinely intrigued by you.

Jackie: Hmm, that's flattering... (Chuckles) and suspect.

Rick: Suspect? Why? Because my sister has a child with your husband?

Jackie: You're afraid that Owen and Bridget are going to fall in love-- another Logan family scandal.

Rick: (Sighs)

Jackie: And you don't want Bridget to be the villain. So would it be best if I got myself another man? (Gasps) Oh, someone young, someone handsome...

Rick: (Chuckles)

Jackie: And someone with a track record with older women.

Rick: Wha--

Jackie: Then Bridget wouldn't be the villain because... (Scoffs) who could feel sorry for me?

Rick: Okay, I'm gonna take you back a little bit here. I-I don't have a track record. I have taste. I'm actually kind of a snob that way. Regardless of age, older, younger, it doesn't matter. I focus on the woman, not the number.

Jackie: Well, I think you're a very sweet and very well-meaning boy. And I have a number for you. Zero. That is how much chance there is of Owen leaving me for Bridget, and for their sake, I am not going to mention this to them, because today is a very happy day, and I want it to remain that way. Hello, darlings. You're back.

Bridget: Oh, yeah. Rick, what are you doing here? I thought you left with Mom.

Jackie: Oh, actually, he...

Rick: (Clears throat)

Jackie: Came down because he wanted to congratulate me. Wasn't that sweet?

Bridget: Congratulate you?

Jackie: Mm.

Rick: Yeah, you three on, you know, becoming one big happy family. (Chuckles)

Bridget: Oh. (Sighs)

Rick: (Chuckles)

Jackie: Actually, the truth is, Bridget, your brother doesn't think it's going to work.

Bridget: Did he tell you that, Jackie?

Jackie: Don't get upset.

Rick: (Sighs)

Jackie: He's hardly the only one, is he?

Bridget: Well, I just thought I could expect a little more support from my big brother.

Rick: (Laughs) You can always count on me.

Bridget: Mm-hmm.

Jackie: Is he awake?

Bridget: Barely.

Jackie: (Laughs) You know, he's just like his daddy. Owen takes absolutely ages to wake up.

Bridget: (Chuckles)

Owen: Mm-hmm. Oh.

Jackie: Can I see the little cherub?

Bridget: Um...

Owen: You know, Jackie, if he really is like me, then he will get pretty cranky if he gets rushed.

Jackie: Okay. (Chuckles) Bridget, thank you for bringing him down. Thank you for sharing him with me. You seem tired.

Rick: Well, I can stick around and help you out if you want.

Bridget: Oh, Rick, that's so sweet, but honestly, I have all the help I need.

Logan: (Fusses)

Owen: Yeah, I mean, I think we're gettin' the hang of this whole thing.

Jackie: (Chuckles) You're both still on such a high, but I can see the adrenaline beginning to wane.

Logan: (Cries)

Rick: (Chuckles)

Jackie: You wait till sleep deprivation kicks in. Ugh.

Bridget: The superhero here delivered little one, so I'm sure he'll be able to rock him back to sleep.

Rick: (Chuckles)

Owen: Yeah, little boy, or change his diaper.

Rick: Hi.

Bridget: Already?

Owen: Diaper bag?

Bridget: Upstairs.

Owen: All right. Give him to me. I got him.

Bridget: You're sure you want to change his diaper?

Owen: Yeah, absolutely. Come on.

Bridget: All righty. Well, hold on.

Owen: Come on. Come here, little Logan. Come on, buddy. I got you.

Bridget: Aw. Oh.

Logan: (Hiccups)

Bridget: I'll go with you.

Owen: No, no, no. Stay here and say good-bye to Rick. I got him.

Bridget: (Stammers)

Owen: I got it. Hey.

Bridget: This is your first time. I'll go with you this time, and then you can change all the diapers you want. We'll just be right back.

Owen: It's a diaper. I can handle changing a diaper.

Bridget: Well, I know, but, honey, it's just...

Jackie: (Chuckles)

Owen: I've changed diapers.

Jackie: What?

Rick: Just I-I told you so.

Jackie: (Scoffs)

Rick: (Chuckles)

Amber: If Rick's seeing someone on the sly, I'm not gonna waste my time.

Brooke: I really don't know if he's seeing anybody. He wouldn't talk to me about his love life in high school, so why would he share anything with me now?

Amber: Maybe I should just ask Bridget if she--

Brooke: No. (Sighs) No, don't ask Bridget. Just leave her out of this. She doesn't know what Rick is up to. Besides, she's too busy trying to sort out her own life.

Amber: How's that going for her?

Owen: Okay, mister, let's get you all clean. Come on. Give me your feet.

Bridget: (Groans)

Owen: Okay.

Bridget: Oh, great. Thank you. Here.

Owen: Thank you.

Bridget: (Laughs)

Owen: Hey, buddy.

Bridget: Doin' great. Doin' good.

Owen: Yeah?

Bridget: I'm just-- look, I'm sure you could have figured this out by yourself. (Laughs)

Owen: (Laughs)

Bridget: I am so glad that my parents got to meet their grandson today.

Owen: I know. They wanted this for you for so long.

Bridget: Nobody has wanted it more than I have.

Owen: Except for maybe this little guy.

Bridget: (Chuckles)

Owen: Isn't that why you had to come out a few days early? Huh? Couldn't wait to meet your mommy?

Bridget: Well, and your daddy.

Owen: (Chuckles) Whoa!

Bridget: (Laughs)

Owen: Whoa. He's not finished. Whoa!

Bridget: Yeah, nice shot, kiddo. (Laughs)

Owen: (Laughs)

Bridget: Oh.

Owen: Look at him.

Bridget: I just realized he waited until the two of us were together alone to come into this world. (Laughs)

Rick: As I was saying...

Jackie: (Scoffs) I should be worried because my husband wants to change his child's diaper?

Rick: Did you see how Bridget and Owen were relating to each other?

Jackie: Oh, like parents.

Rick: There is a bond there.

Jackie: Well, there had better be. Let me tell you something, Rick. I raised my son with a man who I didn't respect, a man who had absolutely no interest in being a good father to my child. I kept Nicky's real father in the dark. That was a mistake. But I did it out of fear and out of insecurity, and I don't feel that way now. I am thrilled for Owen and Bridget. I want them to enjoy every tiny bit of this experience.

Rick: Yes, that is the very essence of what I am trying to say. I want them to--to enjoy that, too, but you--you also deserve those incredible experiences. And if everything goes the way I think it will, then I would like to give those experiences to you.

Jackie: Oh. Absorbed into the body,

Owen: So what's the verdict?

Bridget: Oh, well, very impressive.

Owen: Yeah? Thank you. You know, if you want to give me a refresher next time Logan needs to be changed, I wouldn't mind.

Bridget: (Sniffles) Eh, maybe I'll just supervise. I'll go sit over there on the couch, eat some bonbons, and I'll let you do all the rough stuff.

Owen: Sounds good. Look, if you need anything, anything at all from me, I'm here for you-- you and our son.

Bridget: (Sighs)

Owen: What? What is it?

Bridget: Maybe Jackie had a point about that whole sleep deprivation thing. I don't know.

Owen: Well, I mean, come on. We're both pretty emotional here. This is a pretty huge deal.

Bridget: I knew it would be. I thought I was so prepared.

Bridget: Oh. I want to be a mom. (Sniffles) I'm so ready to be a mom. I said those words so many times, Owen, to my family, to myself, and to God-- just so many prayers and fantasies. I daydreamed about you over a million times, oh, exactly how it would be, how it would happen, when it would happen. I just never expected it to happen like this with you. But when I think of the miracle of it all, everything happened exactly the way it was supposed to. And I believe that 100%, because... (Sniffles) Our child is here. He's finally here.

Bridget: When I think about it all, and I'm giving thanks for him, it just makes perfect sense. All those twists and turns... all that pain and confusion... if all of that led me to this, I don't regret a single moment of any of it.

Jackie: Perhaps I didn't make myself clear.

Rick: You really, really think that this is an act, that I'm thinking about my sister right now?

Jackie: Uh, apparently not.

Rick: Why haven't you thrown me out yet?

Jackie: Because you're Logan's uncle, and I want to keep things amicable.

Rick: Or is it possible that you're just trying to keep your options open?

Jackie: (Scoffs)

Rick: All right, hypothetically, this situation with you and Owen and Bridget and the baby-- let's say it all works out.

Jackie: Mm.

Rick: Then you and I can forget this conversation ever happened. But I personally don't think that you can do that.

Jackie: (Sighs)

Rick: Look at me. Look at me. Your future is not with "Mr. Cowabunga."

Jackie: (Sighs)

Rick: No, you two are from different planets. Yes, he's--he's spoiled you. He's catered to your every need. But he has a child now with another woman. You're not exactly his priority anymore. And you deserve a man that is gonna be so completely and utterly devoted to you. And right now, you're looking at that man.
