Donna: No, Thorne. Katie specified she wanted this fabric.
Thorne: (Sighs) Our distributors don't carry this fabric.
Donna: Well, uh, find somebody who does.
Thorne: (Scoffs)
Katie: Do you think it's a little conservative?
Eric: Well, obviously, it doesn't matter what I think.
Katie: Eric, please. Don't get upset. I... (sighs) it's--it's not bad. I just--we're trying to go for something younger.
Eric: You've shown a lot of tenacity and character sticking by Forrester when your brother and your sister and your mother couldn't. They all abandoned ship. I think maybe the transition's already begun.
Ridge: What transition would that be?
Eric: To you taking over for me.
Whip: I tell you. It's a big risk building an entire collection around an unknown like Hope.
Stephanie: So you're not impressed either?
Whip: Well, there's innovation, and then there's recklessness. Besides, there's a lot more at stake than just Forrester's reputation.
Katie: Oh, good. Everyone's here.
Steffy: We've been here for a while now.
Katie: Well, I hope you've put your time to good use.
Hope: Oh, well, we wanted to wait for you. We didn't want to start without you.
Katie: This is your campaign. If you have an idea, you and your team should run with it.
Brooke: Steffy was just telling us about her script for her promo.
Katie: Let's see it.
Steffy: This is just a first draft.
Donna: (Clears throat)
Katie: Why don't you take another pass at that?
Steffy: Oh, well, I have other ideas. I can go get them.
Ridge: (Whispering) Hey, what are you doin' here?
Taylor: (Whispering) Oh, I was checking on you, but I-I think Steffy needs a little more support than you right now.
Katie: Look, I know I'm asking a lot. We don't have a lot of time to put this campaign together, but that's no excuse to do shoddy work, right? I think we all have to step up our game.
Whip: Every man has his limits, Stephanie. I'm sure Ridge is reaching his.
Stephanie: Oh, I don't know. When it comes to those Logan girls, the Forrester men don't seem to have any limits.
Whip: Yeah, Ridge and Brooke have definitely had their share of marriages, which begs the question-- how many times have they been divorced?
Katie: Look, I know you can do better. You have to. We all have to. I can't stress this enough. This campaign has got to be perfect. We are creating every girl's fantasy here, we're--every girl's dream come true. I-if any part of this campaign falls flat, we can cross that from fantasy into farce, and I am not going to allow Hope to be part of something like that. This has got to be huge. This is ‘Hope for the Future’ by Hope Logan.
Ridge: If I can't take care of my children, if I can't support my family, then none of this means anything. It's just pointless.
Katie: The Logan name is what sets us apart. It's our hook. Last time, Steffy, you did the voiceover for the campaign. I think this time around, we're gonna use Hope's voice.
Steffy: Wait, you-- you want me to write the script, but you don't want me to read it?
Donna: Well, your voice is tied to Hollywood Glamour.
Brooke: Uh, Steffy, you said you had another copy somewhere? Why don't just all take a break and--and you could go find it.
Hope: Oh, I'll go with. I'm parched.
Brooke: Oh, Hope, hold on. Steffy, would you mind bringing something back to drink for Hope? Thanks.
Steffy: Sure.
Katie: We're in a good place. Everything's coming together.
Donna: Well, I talked to Thorne, and he's hunting down the fabric.
Katie: Great.
Brooke: Steffy's going to spruce up her copy.
Hope: Oh, wow, this is all really happening.
Brooke: Thanks to you and your incredible idea.
Katie: Well, execution is the key. We need everyone's best efforts.
Brooke: Steffy will come around. So will your dad.
Hope: Hmm.
Brooke: And that's what this campaign is all about. It's--it's looking forward. It's getting past the conflicts and the resentments and creating a great future for all of our families, for all of us. And that's what ‘Hope for the Future’ is all about. It gives us a singular purpose, something that we all care about. We're gonna make this company great again. We are.
Katie: (Chuckles)
Donna: (Chuckles)
Ridge: I don't give a damn about this company anymore.
Thomas: Oh, don't say that.
Taylor: You cannot give up on your legacy. That is not the answer.
Ridge: I'm beginning to think there isn't an answer here.
Taylor: No, Ridge, there is always an answer. It may not be an easy one or one you want to hear.
Ridge: Look, no matter what I do, someone I love is bound to get hurt.
Taylor: And yet you said that something has to be done.
Ridge: It's Katie. She's got way too much power here. As long as she's in charge, this situation's is gonna get worse. There's got to be some way to get her out of that office.
Whip: I'm not advocating a breakup.
Stephanie: Of course not. You're dating Taylor.
Whip: Well, she does deserve to be more than her ex-husband's port in a storm.
Stephanie: Their children are caught up in all of this as well.
Whip: Come on, Stephanie. Children--they're not babies. Besides, my only concern is Taylor, which, you have to admit, has never been something that your son could say.
Stephanie: Even so, those two are always going to have feelings for one another. But I think you sense that, or we wouldn't be having this conversation.
Whip: Actually, the, uh, the reason that we are having this conversation is...
Stephanie: A dress?
Whip: This. Well, not just any dress, but the dress. Bridget did an amazing job, didn't she?
Stephanie: You had this designed for Taylor?
Whip: I know. I know what you're thinking-- just what she needs, another gown, right? But I guarantee you. She does not have one like this, not one that's been inspired by her-- by her beauty. You know. I mean, look. The blue of her eyes, the--the line of her hair. I mean, it's definitely everything that I see and I feel when I look at her. It’s all there.
Taylor: I had told myself I wasn't going to say anything, but...
Ridge: Go ahead.
Taylor: Well, it's... (sighs) it's just that you called me last night, and--and you told me that you couldn't even go in your own house because Katie and Donna were there, and, well, I've just been wondering if you've talked to Brooke about it.
Ridge: It's all we seem to talk about nowadays. She says the right things. I say the right things. I keep telling myself that things are gonna get better, that I'll get over it. I walk through the halls, Doc, and all I can think is, what the hell am I doing here? This used to be my-- my refuge. Whatever's going on in my life, I could come here, and the troubles would kind of melt away. (Sighs) Now when I come here, like today, you know what I feel? Dread. What if I can't stop feeling that way?
Taylor: Well, something will have to change.
(Cell phone beeps)
Taylor: Oh, hold on. I've got a text.
Ridge: Is it one of the kids?
Taylor: No, it's Whip. He--he wants to see me right now.
Ridge: So it's true. You're, uh... you're really dating him.
Taylor: Yeah. I-I think he's really good for me. He's very warm. He's very funny. And, um, he's very appreciative, and I think it is good for me. A lady needs that.
Ridge: Well, you better get going then. Stay around here, you'd just get upset. You don't need that.
Taylor: Neither do you.
Ridge: No. (Sighs).
Taylor: Things will get better, Ridge.
Ridge: I sure hope so, Doc. I hope so.
Taylor: Hey, listen, um, this isn't exactly the right time, but this "Doc" thing... I-I don't-- I think that should stop. You have your Logan, and I'm not... your Doc anymore.
Ridge: Right, right. Okay. Um... I hear you.
Taylor: Okay.
(Door closes)
Ridge: (Sighs)
Brooke: And we're absolutely sure that this is the right thing to do?
Katie: (Sighs)
Brooke: I know I've been questioning a lot.
Katie: Are you losing faith in your daughter?
Brooke: No, it's just that she's young, and she has no experience. There's a lot resting on her shoulders. I don't want to push her too far too fast.
Katie: So this concern-- it's all about Hope.
Brooke: Well, I do have a lot riding on this personally.
Katie: (Sighs) So do I! I mean, come on. If this campaign fails, Hope is gonna get some bad publicity. She's not gonna get the blame. I will.
Donna: I think Katie is saying that she thinks Hope can handle this.
Katie: We have to stop asking if she's ready. She's eager. She wants this. She wants to stand up, take charge and show the world our next generation. She is so much like you, Brooke. Her energy, her vitality-- she is the perfect person to carry on your tradition at Forrester. I truly believe that your daughter can do this for us.
Ridge: What if I can't start feeling this way?
Taylor: Well, something will have to change.
Ridge: (Gasps) Ooh, Mother. Hey.
Stephanie: Are you all right?
Ridge: (Sighs) I guess I don't have to ask what you and Taylor discussed over breakfast. She came to check on me, too.
Stephanie: Oh. You think she's still in the building?
Ridge: I don't know. She got a message from Whip.
Stephanie: That's not surprising. You know, he had Bridget, um, design a dress for her. A lot of thought and heart went into it. I think he's falling in love with her. Wouldn't surprise me if sooner or later, she might return those feelings.
(Knock on door)
Taylor: Whip?
Whip: Ah. (Clears throat) Welcome, Milady.
Taylor: You didn't do so great as being my therapist, so now you're my maître d'?
Whip: Oh, well, I, uh-- you know what they say about the way to a woman's heart is-- scratch that, okay? No games today.
Taylor: Oh, okay.
Whip: Well, you know, I-I-I like our banter. I think it's a lot of fun. I'm sure it's one of the many things that you find most attractive about me.
Taylor: Well, that and your humility...
Whip: Yes, but it also--
Taylor: And your modesty.
Whip: It also is a way of distancing myself from you. Look, Taylor, I've been trying to get to know you, and, uh, I think the reason that you haven't been able to open up is because, um, you don't know me. So come right over here for a moment. Right here. Mm-hmm. Just turn slightly. Good. Right there. Comfortable? Good. (Clears throat) Now let's see what we have here. Oh, I know. The exterior's very intriguing, hmm? Mm-hmm. What could it be? (Gasps) Why don't you reach inside? Hmm? Go ahead.
Taylor: (Chuckles)
Whip: Nice.
Taylor: Oh.
Whip: It's all the--
Taylor: Oh, my goodness.
Whip: It's all the beauty that you have that inspires me.
Taylor: Whip, this is gorgeous.
Whip: Yeah, well, I had it made for you. It's, uh, it's one of a kind just like you.
Steffy: Where is everybody?
Hope: Uh, they had another meeting, and Katie wanted me to take a look at your revision. (Sighs) Look, Steffy, I'm not your boss. I'm not anyone's boss. I'm just the new kid, and I want to do a good job.
Steffy: Yeah, me, too. I was up half the night working on this. I know it's not perfect, but for Katie just to throw it in my face like that?
Hope: Well, I'm sure it's fine now. Come on. I know what Katie's looking for.
Steffy: Fine.
Hope: Okay.
Steffy: (Laughs)
(soda pop fizzing)
Hope: (Chuckles sarcastically) You did that on purpose, didn't you? Are you really that jealous, Steffy?
Steffy: Why would I be jealous of you? Oh, because you're the new Forrester spokesmodel? Because your aunt likes you better than me or what?
Hope: No, because dad chose my family over yours.
Steffy: (Scoffs)
Hope: I know it hurts, okay? But when dad--
Steffy: Don't even say it. I don't care what you say. He is not your dad.
Whip: Exquisite.
Taylor: Yes, it--it is. (Sighs)
Whip: Well, I-I wasn't necessarily talking about the dress, although you do look exactly like I imagined you would.
Taylor: I can't believe you did this.
Whip: (Chuckles) With a little help from Bridget, of course. Taylor, I-I didn't create this dress to show you what I could do. I... it's more what you do to me.
Taylor: Whip.
Whip: But if you, um, if you still have feelings for Ridge, or you, um, you know, you-- you think that maybe, uh... (sighs) whatever. Who am I kidding? I don't care. I don't care. Ridge may never make up his mind completely but I have. And I'm telling you, Taylor, for me... you're it.
Taylor: (Sighs)
Whip: Mm. Baby, I'm crazy about you. (Chuckles)
Ridge: Whip had a gown made for Taylor?
Stephanie: It's beautiful.
Ridge: You came running all the way over here to tell me about that?
Stephanie: (Chuckles) I didn't bring Taylor up. You did.
Ridge: I just thought it would be more pleasant for you than talking about Brooke.
Stephanie: (Scoffs) Well, I can see no matter what I say, it's gonna get you started on the wrong side.
Ridge: Well, then maybe we shouldn't say anything then.
Stephanie: You know I can't do that. Ridge, the hell with the contract that Spencer has. Let the lawyers sue you. This place is killing you. Take it from someone who knows. Take the kids and get the hell out of here. If you don't want to come to Jackie M. and-- and go into partnership with me, okay. Then start your own business. If you do it without taking any of the Logan girls with you, I'll help you.
Ridge: But what about my wife? She's a Logan, and Brooke isn't going anywhere.
Stephanie: Well, there it is then. Honey, I can see this. You hate this ace. You see--you hate what's happening to this company. Why don't you just sell the stock that you have here and walk away with your dignity intact?
Ridge: Because this isn't totally about me. I have to be concerned about my kids, too.
Stephanie: They hate it here, too. And as long as Kate is C.E.O., your children will always be second bananas here. Hasn't this business with Hope proven that to you? She's Deacon's daughter. What do you think is gonna happen when the press gets hold of all of that? Just her presence here, as you put--it--it's a stain on the good name of this company.
Ridge: Oh, come on, Mother. Hope is a good girl. She hasn't hurt anyone.
Stephanie: No, she is a good girl, and you're right. She hasn't hurt anyone, but those girls have. They're going to hurt her. They're hurting this company. They're hurting your children, and most importantly to me, they're hurting you. Their loyalty lies, with the big fish in the pond right now, and that is Spencer. Forrester as we knew it is gone. They're in control here. You've got to get away from all of it... from all of them.
