Brooke: (Chuckles) You certainly didn't waste any time.
Ridge: Well, you heard Spencer. After the preview, he wants more designs for the Dare line.
Steffy: Hey, that's a great sign. That means our plan is working.
Ridge: Well, let's not get overconfident here. It's still very risky what we're doin'. Look, with the, uh, launch only a few days away, we have to make sure that no one lets any of this out, okay? This is very, very risky, but if we win, we win big. But if we lose...
Brooke: I, for one, can't wait for this deception to be over because I hate lying to my sister, and so does Donna. We have a lot more at stake here than just Forrester Creations. We could damage our relationship with our sister forever.
Katie: So that's why I asked you here. I want your opinion on the Dare line.
Jarrett: My opinion?
Katie: Mm-hmm. You've been covering Forrester for years now. No one knows Ridge and Eric's designs better.
Jarrett: Well... (chuckles) and to think I was actually feeling a little slighted not being invited to the preview earlier today.
Katie: No one was invited. It was a closed preview. The line is top secret. In fact, I've seen very little of the collection-- three designs, to be precise. But that's going to change right now.
Sandy: (Sighs) Thank you.
Nick: Yeah.
Sandy: You know, when I think of all the other women who-- there's so many other women who've been through what I've been through, who really, truly believe that everything possible is being done to catch these animals-- deluding ourselves, believing that justice is going to be done, when justice never-- never stood a chance.
Nick: You'll get your justice, Sandy. I'll see to it.
Nick: It'll take a few days for the results of the D.N.A. testing. So we just have to hope Baker gets enough to make an arrest.
Sandy: In my case. But what about all the others? I mean, the evidence in their case is still sitting there, piled up on top of boxes just--just locked away, pushed aside and forgotten.
Nick: Well, you heard what the lieutenant said. It's--
Sandy: You know what I heard? I heard a whole lot about budget cuts and about lack of man power and about how other cases get higher priority. That just-- those--those explanations just sound like excuses to me. These women did the right thing coming forward, going to the cops, and this is how they were treated? We're better than that. As a society, it's not who we are as--as a people. Those backlogs are unacceptable. Something has to be done, Nick.
Ridge: Logan, if there were any other way... we are in the right here, you know?
Brooke: And that's supposed to make it easier? (Sighs) Ridge, Donna, Katie and I, we have this relationship. It's built on trust. I mean, even if I went to her right now--
Steffy: Oh, you're not thinking about doing that, are you?
Ridge: Logan, are you losing your resolve?
Brooke: No. No, but I am very uncomfortable.
Jarrett: I'm sorry. I don't quite follow.
Katie: I'm having Marcus bring up the rest of the designs from the cutting room.
Jarrett: You're giving me a sneak peek?
Katie: Mm-hmm, yes. And in return, you will give me your honest, objective opinion.
Jarrett: Uh, which I'm happy to do, of course, but with Ridge and Eric being back together, I-I can't fathom the new line not rocking the fashion world.
(Knock on door)
Katie: Oh, great. Come on in.
Marcus: All right.
Katie: Thank you.
Marcus: Yeah.
Katie: Anyone give you any problems?
Marcus: No. Oh, but Brooke did make a point of saying--
Katie: Don't worry about Brooke. I'm sure she knows you're just doing what I want you to do.
Marcus: Okay, um... (chuckles) anything else?
Katie: That'll do it. Thank you so much.
Marcus: All right.
Jarrett: Oh, my word. Eric and Ridge-- what have they done? I can't believe it.
Sandy: You know, if this is happening here, then we can be sure that it's happening in other places, too, and meanwhile, women who are just like me, who've been through exactly what I've been through, are waiting, you know? They're--they're hoping and praying every day that the phone is gonna ring, and the officer is gonna say, "We got him, and we have exactly what we need to put him away." And that's never gonna happen? It's never gonna happen because somebody somewhere decided the police have to do with less? Nick, if that means a room piled to the ceiling with untested D.N.A., it's just not right. And if it weren't for you, I wouldn't know any of this. I would still be completely clueless. You know, I-it's really because of you. I have-- I have hope that they might actually find the person who did this to me.
Nick: Sandy, I didn't do anything.
Sandy: No, you did. No, Nick, it is because of you that I have this hope, and I don't-- how do I ever thank you for that?
Brooke: (Sighs) Marcus should have been here by now.
Steffy: He still has no idea about what we're doing, right?
Brooke: No, Donna didn't want to put him in the middle, especially since Justin works for Bill. The designs from the cutting room-- did you forget them?
Marcus: No, I got a message earlier from Katie saying that she wanted to see them first. She said that wouldn't be a problem. And since she is C.E.O., I just figured that it would be okay.
Ridge: (Sighs)
Marcus: I hope I didn't screw anything up.
Ridge: No, Marcus. It's not you. It's not you. Look, we'll--we'll handle it, okay? Thanks.
Marcus: Okay.
Brooke: (Groans)
Steffy: Oh, my God. That means she's still suspicious if she's asking to see the designs.
Ridge: Worse, she's up in her office right now looking at them, all of them, including--
Brooke: Your most outrageous design yet.
Katie: So you've had a chance to review the collection. What do you think?
Jarrett: Well, I'm actually not quite sure what to think.
Katie: Well, you either like it or you don’t. I need an honest reaction, Jarrett. If you can't give me one or won't, then--
Jarrett: (Stammers) It's not a question of won’t. It's just-- how to put this diplomatically?
Katie: I don't want you to be diplomatic. I want you to be honest with me. Is this collection as bad as I think it is?
Jarrett: No.
Katie: No?
Jarrett: It's worse. Atrocious, even. I'm-- and yet, from the look of these designs, it's almost as if--
Katie: As if the Forresters are sabotaging their own collection?
Jarrett: Katie, no. You're not telling me-- you sure?
Katie: I don't know. But from your reaction...
Jarrett: Wha-- there--there have been instances in the past when I've questioned Ridge and Eric's design direction, and I-I have been wrong. (Sighs) That must be the case this time. Eric would never do anything to compromise his-- his reputation. I mean, if he thinks these are good, they--they must be. (Sighs) Besides, Brooke and Donna are your sisters. They'd never knowingly deceive you, would they?
Katie: (Scoffs) Hi, it's me. I need to see you in my office right away. Drop whatever you're doing. It's important.
(Phone hangs up)
Ridge: Katie?
Brooke: She wants to see me right away.
Steffy: Did she say about what?
Brooke: I think we already know that.
Ridge: Logan, if your sister's on to us, what are you gonna do? How are you gonna handle this?
Nick: Well, bravo. It is--it is nice to finally see you like this. I've been waiting for the-- the real Sandy Sommers to show up, and I can see she is here in full force.
Sandy: You know what? I'm not gonna stop fighting either. And I don't-- I don't just mean for myself. I mean for all those other women. Nobody should ever have to go through what I went through, but I don't just mean what that sicko did to me that night. I mean everything that has or hasn't happened since that moment.
Nick: Well, with any luck, the D.N.A. tests will come back, we'll get the results we want, and--and we'll nail this guy.
Sandy: I hope so. It has to, right?
Nick: (Clears throat) Listen, Sandy, I don't--I don't feel comfortable not telling Bridget about this. It--it just doesn't feel right to me, you know? I took an oath of truth and honesty.
Sandy: Nick, no. Please, okay? No, not--not yet. Let's at least wait and see what we learn.
Bridget: Hey. What's up, you two?
Ridge: I feel like I should have gone with her. Brooke shouldn't have to face her sister on her own, especially since it was mine and dad's idea to begin with. Oh, Brooke never wanted to mislead Katie. Why did I have her do this? Why did I ask any of you to do this?
Steffy: Dad, come on. This is a brilliant plan. And if it works, we get Forrester Creations back in our hands.
Ridge: Yeah, but at what cost? Especially to Brooke and Donna and their relationship with their sister. We're always talking about how important family is here, family above everything else. But if what we've done winds up splitting those sisters apart, nothing's worth that, Steffy.
Brooke: You wanted to see me?
Katie: Yes, come on in. Close the door.
(door closes)
Katie: I'm assuming that Marcus already told you that I wanted to see the rest of the designs.
Brooke: (Sighs) I wish you had waited.
Katie: For what? For Ridge and Eric so they can do another sales job and tell everyone how cutting edge these are? And if anyone disagrees, they're just not seeing the true genius behind their work?
Brooke: Uh, if this is your way of saying that you're not really feeling these designs--
Katie: What I'm feeling is a little naive, a little foolish for what I asked my husband on Christmas Eve. I told him that what I really wanted for Christmas was for him to give the company back to the Forresters, that I didn't care about money or power. Family was more important to me, and we were being shut out.
Brooke: Nobody's shutting you out.
Katie: Right. Right. You don't have a problem with me. It's just my husband, the man that I love, that you can't stand. You want to know what hurt the most about being excluded for the holidays? I think I realized for the first time just--just how far apart we are and how deep the rift is between you and Donna and me, and it's a rift that's never been there before. We both know why, don't we?
Bridget: My goodness. You two seemed really intense when I walked in here. Then she just ran off like that. I was really hoping to get to talk to her.
Nick: Because she's responsible. You know, her boss needs her. She has a job now.
Bridget: You know, I really, really hope Stephanie isn't overworking her. She is carrying our baby, after all.
Nick: Would you stop with this--the worrying? "Miss Worrywart" always worrying.
Bridget: I'm trying. I am.
Nick: No?
Bridget: It's just hard.
Nick: I understand. We have to be kind of positive and enjoy this part of our life, right, and understand that, you know, something bad isn't going to happen to spoil it. I promise.
Bridget: Really?
Nick: Yeah.
Bridget: Are you positive? 'Cause I-I'd love your personal guarantee on that.
Nick: I have it right here in a written letter. (Clears throat) Let's see. Uh, ahh, yes. Here it is. Um, "to, uh, Bridget..."
Bridget: Mm-hmm.
Nick: "And Nick Marone, a loving, deserving couple. They have gone through their share of challenges..." oh, yeah. "But they have overcome them, and they deserve to live happily ever after in love and kindness. Signed..."
Bridget: Who?
Nick: I can't really--
Bridget: What? Where is it?
Nick: I can't quite make out that signature...
Bridget: Oh, really?
Nick: But I do know, um, it guarantees how much I love you.
Bridget: (Chuckles)
Nick: (Chuckles)
Bridget: Guess what?
Nick: Hmm?
Bridget: I heard a little rumor.
Nick: Okay, I love rumors. Tell me everything now.
Bridget: I know you do. I heard it. It's about the Dare line at Forrester.
Nick: Oh, God. Let me guess. It's Ridge and Eric's best work ever.
Bridget: No. No, it's not. Confidentially, they told me it's a little weird. It's not as classy and elegant at all, they said...
Nick: Really?
Bridget: As, you know, the usual Forrester lines.
Nick: Mm-hmm. Of course.
Bridget: I think it's because--maybe Bill Spencer. Everything's different now, and he's taken control. And I-I wonder if my dad's just lost his inspiration.
Nick: I don't know. But lucky for me, I haven't lost mine, 'cause I'm lookin' at her right here.
Steffy: Dad, I don't want to see that either-- sisters being torn apart. But if Katie hadn't married Bill in the first place, which I still don't get. He's so not her type. Anyway, I'm sure Brooke will stay strong and not let Katie guilt-trip her into saying more than she should.
Brooke: It's been a difficult time for everybody.
Katie: See? See? That's the thing. I-I really felt like--like things were starting to work, that we were all starting to get along. Eric came back to the company. He's designing with Ridge again. I felt good about what was happening here, and then I find out that my husband isn't welcome at Christmas.
Brooke: Katie--
Katie: And I don't want to hear any more how Eric shouldn't be forced to have Bill in his house, the man who robbed him of his company, because you know that's not how it happened. Bill paid top dollar for this company. He didn't steal anything. Eric lost the company. And that may be difficult for you and Eric and everyone else to admit. It may be like a knife in Ridge and Eric's gut, but let me tell you something. Having everyone treat my husband like some kind of pariah is like a knife in mine.
Brooke: Oh, honey, we don't want to hurt you, especially not Donna and me. We love you.
Katie: And I love you. You're my family. And family means more to me than anything. You mean more to me than anything. I have always gone to you for advice, for guidance, because I have always known that you won't lie to me. You may not tell me what I want to hear. You may not make it easy, but you will tell me the truth, and that's what I need from you right now. I am gonna ask you one more time for the truth. I want you to tell me if the Dare line is legitimate. I need to know that I can trust you. I need to know that Eric and Ridge and, most importantly, you and Donna are working with me to make this company great. Is this great? Or is it sabotage? Can I trust you? Or are you betraying me? And I am trying so hard not to believe that you're betraying me, Brooke. I am trying so hard. But then I look at-- at these designs. I look at these designs, and I think, are these for real?! I-I--this dress-- this dress-- I mean, is this for real? Are any--any of these dresses for real? Or is this just a joke with me as the punch line? Would you let them do that to your own sister? I need you to answer me. Tell me the truth.
