Taylor: I honestly did not think I would get through this Christmas, but then I realized that this is exactly where I belong. Where else could I be? (Sniffles)
Felicia: Hear, hear. Merry Christmas.
Katie: Jack didn't even make it to his favorite part. He was practically asleep before I even opened the book.
Nick: Well, it takes a lot out of us kids opening all those presents.
Katie: He is definitely out for the night.
Nick: Did you call Brooke?
Katie: No. Why?
Nick: I was supposed to get him over to her before the night's over, right?
Katie: Well, you know, if she knows that he's so wiped out, I'm sure she doesn't want us to wake him up.
Nick: Still, you should probably call her.
Katie: I'm sure it's no big deal. She can see him in the morning. Besides, you want to wake him up and see his face when he sees what Santa brought him. Which reminds me, there are still a few presents I have to wrap--
Nick: Wait. Wait. (Sighs) When do I get spoiled? Me? (Whines)
Katie: Aw, baby. It's a holiday. Holidays are for children.
Nick: Mm. He's very lucky to have you around here. It's like Christmas every day with you here.
Katie: Well, I'm lucky to have him. Beautiful, healthy child. Especially when I think about Ridge and Taylor and what they're going through.
Taylor: I wanted to thank you again for that beautiful, beautiful star. I know Phoebe would have loved it.
Hope: I wish she could be here.
Brooke: In a way, she is, sweetheart. In our hearts, in our minds, our memories.
Taylor: (Sniffles) Okay, enough. Enough of this crying. (Chuckles) This is a Christmas celebration, right? Especially for the kids. This is why I wanted to come back, because I love doing these family traditions with you. Every holiday, this is what we do. We gather together, and Phoebe loved doing that. You know, when we popped popcorn, which we have to do, and then we put the little cranberries on and make the chain for the tree. (Sniffles) and when we bake cookies with grandma, and then we sing carols around the piano, right? Okay. See, this is-- this is what I need. This holiday tradition that we have is-- is something that-- that really bonds us.
Felicia: Hear, hear! (Laughter)
Felicia: Merry Christmas.
Stephanie: Merry Christmas.
(Voices overlapping)
Taylor: This is exactly where I needed to be. Thank you. Thank you so much for making me come here.
Nick: What'd Brooke say?
Katie: She said that it was no problem at all, that she'll pick Jack up in the morning...
Nick: Mm-hmm.
Katie: Which means, Mr. Marone, you and I have the rest of the evening to ourselves.
Nick: Okay. What did you have in mind?
Katie: That's exactly what I needed.
Nick: You are so easy to please.
Katie: I know. It doesn't take much to make me happy.
Nick: Well, then I guess you really aren't concerned about what I got you for Christmas, are you?
Katie: No, that's not what I said! That's not what I said.
Nick: No?
Katie: I love presents.
Nick: That's kind of what I thought you were referring to.
Katie: Oh...
Nick: Sit down.
Katie: Was Santa good to me this year?
Nick: Well, I don't know. Let's see. Um, what's not for Jack?
Katie: (Giggles) Oh, I guess it's not jewelry, huh?
Nick: You are gonna so love me when you see what's inside.
Katie: (Giggles) All righty.
Nick: Come on. Let me help you.
Katie: All right. Do it like... there we go. Oh. Oh, wow.
Nick: (Laughs)
Katie: (Chuckles)
Nick: No more indoor Nerf ball, baby. It's time to hit the hard court.
Katie: I don't quite know what to say. They're--they're beautiful. I love them. Thank you.
Nick: Here.
Katie: There's two.
Nick: Yeah.
Katie: Wow. (Laughs)
Nick: Huh?
Steffy: You guys gotta stop eating the popcorn. We're not gonna have enough for the chain.
Taylor: Well, then we'll just pop some more, right?
Felicia: Yeah. Dad?
R.J.: Over the fire?
Eric: You know another way?
Thomas: I guess grandpa's never heard of a microwave. (Laughter)
Eric: Bah! Humbug! (Chuckling)
Eric: Kids. Listen to these kids. (Indistinct conversations)
Stephanie: It's not even close.
Thorne: What?
Stephanie: Who the biggest kid in the room is. Your father, when it comes to Christmas.
Thorne: He loves you, Mother. No matter how things turn out, he'll always have a special place in his heart for you.
Stephanie: Thank you, honey.
Ridge: Hey, everyone. I'd like to say a few words before we eat. This family has been faced with heartbreaking challenges this year. Minute by minute, we wondered if we could get through it, how we'd get through it. Times like this is when, uh, family seems to mean the most. I look around this room, and I see phoebe everywhere. I see her memory within each of all of us. I also see the memory of others that we've loved and lost. But having all this happen still makes me hopeful and grateful for all the blessings in my life, and grateful for all of you. So may the miracle of Christmas give us peace and love and comfort to each and every one of us.
Thomas: Hear, hear.
Brooke: Hear, hear.
Stephanie: Merry Christmas.
(Voices overlapping)
Thorne: Merry Christmas.
Hope: Merry Christmas.
(Voice overlapping, laughter)
Nick: I screwed up, didn't I? I mean, this isn't a very-- very good gift, is it? I mean--
Katie: No, I-I love them.
Nick: (Scoffs)
Katie: They're lovely.
Nick: I thought you'd like them.
Katie: They're my favorite color and everything.
Nick: Since when is white your favorite color?
Katie: White's a good color.
Nick: Like what? What--what--what white do you like?
Katie: It's the color of snow and--and Santa's beard and powdered sugar and--
Nick: Wedding dresses.
Katie: (Laughs) Okay, sure.
Nick: (Groans)
Katie: You okay?
Nick: (Sighs) (sighs) I always have a backup gift just in case the first one bombs.
Katie: (Laughs) (laughs)
Rick: Thank you.
Rick: Ridge, thank you. I know how you feel about me.
Rick: I know how difficult this has been. But I could be spending my Christmas in a jail cell. Instead, I'm here with my family. For that, I thank you.
Bridget: "Dear Santa, we have been good boys and girls this year. Thank you for visiting us. Here are some cookies and milk for you and carrots for Rudolph and the other reindeer." It's so cute.
Hope: You forgot the P.S.
Bridget: I certainly did. It says, "P.S. Don't forget to tell Mrs. Claus we love her, too."
Felicia: That's right. It's always smart to cover your bases with the woman behind the man. (Laughter)
Brooke: That's true, yeah. That is.
Thorne: Okay, guys, what's next?
Felicia: Well--
Alexandria: Stockings!
Thorne: Stockings.
Brooke: Oh, yes.
R.J.: Hung by the chimney with care, and hope that St. Nicholas soon will be there. (Laughter)
Felicia: Aw.
Bridget: Wow!
Brooke: What can I say? It's his favorite story. Bridget's been reading that to him since October.
Felicia: October?
Brooke: Oh, wow.
Bridget: Yeah. (Laughs)
Felicia: Nice job.
Taylor: Guess what we found. Who wants to be the first to hang their stockings?
(Children shouting)
Ridge: All right, Doc, let's pass out the stockings.
Taylor: All right. (Sighs)
Thomas: Hear, hear.
Children: Me. Me. Me...
Felicia: Yay!
Alexandria: Me! (Piano plays "the first noel")
Katie: (Sobs)
Nick: You see, this is the part that always confuses me. I'll give a woman a ring, and she starts crying.
Katie: (Chuckles)
Nick: Maybe that should tell me something, but yet I am 0 for 4 in this category, you know? Not very good odds. But then again, this year's been about beating the odds, hasn't it? And I'm not talking about just you and, you know, what you've gone through. But here you are, and here I am, and I am asking you to do this "Happily ever after" thing with me, which I've tried before with other women, and I-I couldn't do. I would not blame you if you stood right up and ran in the other direction with your new white sneakers.
Katie: (Laughs)
Nick: (Sighs) But do believe that if you honor me by being my wife, I will give you and Jack and us-- I will give you that happily ever after.
Katie: (Laughs) (sniffles)
Nick: This would be the part where you say, "Nick, you're the most amazing guy in the world, even though you have a lousy track record." That is, unless you don't feel that way.
Katie: No, of course I-- of course I do. Don't ever doubt that.
Nick: Well, can you love me? Can you-- can you build a life with me and Jack? Because I love you, and that's what I want.
Katie: (Sobs) I love you so much. And I love Jack more than anything in the whole world, and I want to spend the rest of my life with both of you. That's what I want.
Nick: So is that a yes, or--
Katie: (Laughs) yes.
Nick: It is?
Katie: Yes.
Nick: Okay.
Katie: Yes.
Nick: You could have just said yes, but o-okay.
Katie: Oh, boy. Oh, my gosh. (Sniffles) it fits. (Laughs) it fits.
Nick: Merry Christmas, beautiful. (Laughs)
Katie: (Sighs) (indistinct laughter, cheering)
Brooke: (Sighs) I know it's not easy having Rick here, but I appreciate how hard you're trying.
Ridge: Logan, you, uh, said you didn't want your son banished if he was feeling so fragile. Well, the moment he's not feeling so fragile anymore...
Brooke: You did a wonderful thing, Ridge, to get Taylor to come over here tonight. What could have been such a sad holiday for all of us-- well, it's much brighter now, and it's more uplifting because of you. It's no wonder I love you so much.
Ridge: Oh, Logan.
Brooke: (Giggles)
Taylor: "Merry Christmas to all..."
Together: "And to all a good night."
Felicia: Yay!
Stephanie: Goodness.
Bridget: Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas. Mwah!
Alexandria: Merry Christmas.
Felicia: Merry Christmas.
Taylor: I want to thank you. I want to thank you for being a true friend, Stephanie. You've been my confidant. You've--you've been my rock. I don't know how I could get through any of this without you.
Stephanie: Sweetheart, I love you. You're like a daughter to me.
Taylor: I thank God for you.
Stephanie: Oh, sweetheart.
Taylor: I thank God for this whole family. You know, this is what holidays are about. It's about acknowledging and appreciating each other, the people who are most important to us, because we don't know if they're gonna be there tomorrow. And I-I know some people might think it's wrong that we're laughing and having fun like this, but this is what Phoebe loved. This is what she would want us to be dog here, you know, to be celebrating our family. And I thought this would be the worst day-- well, the second worst day of my life, and because of you, for the first time since I lost Phoebe, I'm feeling joy, not pain. And I'm so thankful to every one of you. Merry Christmas.
All: Merry Christmas.
Alexandria: Merry Christmas, Taylor.
(Voices overlapping)
All: Joy to the world the Lord is come let earth receive her king let every heart prepare him room and heaven and nature sing
Thorne: Boys.
Men: And heaven and nature sing
Eric: That was good!
All: And heaven and heaven and nature sing
Eric: Let's do that again.
All: Joy to the world the lord is come let earth receive her king let every heart prepare him room
Eric: Girls!
Women: And heaven and nature sing
Bradley: From our family to yours...
All: Happy holidays! (Cheering)
