Stephanie: Yes, I understand. Um, I'm talking to him about this right now. I'll call you back and tell you what he's decided. Obviously, that was, uh, Lt. Baker. He can't do anything without your cooperation.

Ridge: I hope you didn't tell him he has it.

Stephanie: I wouldn't presume to do that, but until you let the authorities do something, your daughter's death isn't going to be vindicated.

Ridge: What difference does it make? Because she's gone.

Stephanie: Well, that's the point. She's gone, and she shouldn't be. She should still be here. She would be here if it weren't for his reckless-- reckless and irresponsible behavior, and I think he has to be held accountable.

Donna: What is it, Eric? What are you keeping from me? I-I can tell you still have feelings for me, but you're fighting it. Why?

Eric: Oh, my God, Donna. Think. Think. Do you really need me to tell you?

Donna: Yes, I need you to tell me. I haven't done anything, anything to deserve this. My God, did I-- did I do something wrong? Did I do something to disappoint you? What--just tell me. Please, just tell me.

Donna: Will you please just say it? Say it. Just let it out. I-I can take it.

Owen: All right, Grace, out with it. What's going on between you and Thorne?

Grace: Owen, really, it's nothing.

Owen: Look, you can talk to me.

Grace: (Sighs) I promised I wouldn't tell anyone.

Owen: I can help you.

Grace: (Sighs) he offered me a job at Forrester International.

Owen: Interesting. So then he wants to get rid of you. Look, Grace, talk to me. If you're worried about Thorne, I'll protect you from him.

Grace: (Sighs) He hired me to kiss another model.

Owen: Wait, wait, what?

Grace: Here in this office.

Owen: Wait, why would he do that?

Grace: I don't know. He was very secretive. He--he paid us a lot of money, cash, and, of course, we had to promise never to come back here or to mention it to anyone, but I needed my break, so I came back. He's been very upset about it.

Owen: What, upset as in maybe he's threatened by you?

Grace: Yeah, like that.

Rick: I'm sorry, but I had to go to Phoebe's memorial service today. I had to make peace with her.

Brooke: And now you have to make peace with yourself.

Rick: I don't deserve peace.

Brooke: Honey... (sighs) yes, you do.

Rick: No, I don't. I have to talk to the family, Mom. I gotta talk to Thomas and Steffy. I mean, my God, I took their sister away from them. How do you make up for something like that? But if I've learned anything from this situation, it's I need my family. And Ridge is-- Ridge is never gonna forgive me for--for everything, but there's Thorne. There's Felicia, Dad, Stephanie.

Brooke: No, no, I-I-I don't want you going to Stephanie.

Rick: Mom, I gotta talk to Stephanie. I gotta make things right with her.

Brooke: Honey... (sighs) there's something you should know. (Sighs) Stephanie is pushing the police and the D.A.'s office to file charges against you.

Stephanie: You will get through this. It sounds kind of trite to say it, but you know death is just as important a part as the process of life as birth.

Ridge: We're supposed to go before our kids.

Stephanie: Yeah. Sometimes that doesn't work out that way, though.

Ridge: You know that better than anyone, don't you?

Stephanie: Yeah. (Sighs) I hadn't thought about this in a while, losing Angela when she was a baby. God, you can't imagine. The hurt seems to be beyond any hurt you think is possible. You cry until you think you can't cry anymore. You think you're never gonna get over it, and then, you know, life--life goes on, and eventually you do.

Ridge: We'll see.

Stephanie: Part of the process of healing, though, honey, is--is setting things right. Unfortunately, at this moment, we can't wait to do that... (chuckles) wait for all the healing to happen. If Rick is going to pay for what he's done, it has to happen now.

Owen: Okay, so the guy that you made out with--who was he?

Grace: He's not around anymore.

Owen: But you said he was another model, right?

Grace: Yeah, and he looked a lot like you.

Owen: He looked like me.

Grace: Yeah. It's strange, isn't it? And I look like Donna.

Owen: Well, maybe this isn't so strange. Yep, that has gotta be it.

Rick: Stephanie wants to put me away?

Brooke: She's been very vocal about it.

Rick: And she's pressuring Ridge, isn't she, to go along with this whole thing?

Brooke: Even as we speak.

Rick: Oh, man. That's just great news, Mom. Any minute now, the police are gonna be knockin' on that door.

Brooke: I don't think so.

Rick: Well, I do, because Stephanie can be such a-a bulldog sometimes.

Brooke: But this time you have somebody in your corner.

Rick: (Scoffs) I know that. You're my mom, and you love me, and you will always defend me, but I don't want you in the middle of this.

Brooke: Honey, of course I will always defend you, but I'm talking about somebody else.

Rick: Who are you talking about?

Brooke: Ridge.

Stephanie: You don't have a choice in this, Ridge. You have to go after Rick. He deserves to be punished.

Ridge: Maybe I deserve to be punished...

Stephanie: Oh.

Ridge: For ignoring the signs. Phoebe was in a very bad place, and I didn't see it.

Stephanie: Sweetheart, how could you have seen it? None of us did.

Ridge: Mother, my daughter is dead. Yes, I'm angry at Rick, more than you are. I'm angry at the whole damn world, but you and I are not going to feed that anger by pressing the authorities to arrest that guy. That will accomplish nothing, nothing at all. No, Mother, I'm not gonna do it, and neither are you.

Eric: Oh, come on, Donna, think, think. Dig down deep a little bit.

Donna: Well, what--

Eric: It's no big mystery.

Donna: Is this about Owen?

Eric: Is this about Owen? Yes, of course it-- I'm not stupid.

Donna: Nothing of any significance happened with--

Eric: Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't make this worse.

Thorne: What do you want?

Owen: I think you know exactly what I want.

Thorne: Really? Somebody tell you I was a mind reader?

Owen: You know, it doesn't take a genius to figure out what you're up to, Thorne.

Thorne: And what might that be, Owen?

Owen: Fine. You want me to spell it out? I will. You hired two models who look very much like Donna and me. Is that startin' to ring a bell, buddy?

Thorne: First of all, I'm not your buddy, and number two--don't ever talk to me like that again.

Owen: You paid two models to get hot and heavy in my office. Why? My guess is that Eric had Donna under surveillance, and you wanted to make sure he got an eyeful. End of story. End of marriage. That is what you want, isn't it, Thorne?

Donna: I-I'm not lying to you. Owen and I never crossed that line. I swear it.

Eric: What, having sex is not crossing the line?

Donna: Sex?

Eric: You had sex with Owen. I know this.

Donna: What? There's only one man I've made love to since I've been with you, and it-- there's only one man I've ever wanted to make love to, and that's--that's you. It's you. Oh, my God. It breaks my heart to think that you--

Eric: All right, stop it. Just stop it. It's finished, Donna. This is over.

Donna: I-- I guess there's nothing else I can say...

Donna: Except I'll always love you.

Donna: You know, I-I-I-- I can't be here at Forrester anymore. I can't even be here in L.A. I-I'm gonna-- I'm gonna go back to San Francisco.

Eric: Well, that would be best for both of us. I'll, uh, I'll arrange for the jet to fly you up there.

Donna: So this--this is it.

Eric: Yeah. Good-bye, Donna.

Donna: (Crying)

Donna: (Crying) (door closes)

Donna: (Crying)

Owen: So you want to fill me in on the details?

Thorne: Sounds like you already have it figured out.

Owen: Still don't know how you pulled it off. What, did you have somebody in here taking pictures?

Thorne: No.

Owen: Well, then how did Eric manage to see the two people impersonating Donna and me? Aha. You dirty dog. You had a hidden camera in here. What, did you have a direct feed to his office?

Thorne: (Scoffs) So what do you intend to do with this information?

Owen: I don't know.

Thorne: Owen, Donna would never stay loyal to my father.

Owen: See, that is where you are dead wrong, all right? She is true-blue to the guy.

Thorne: Oh, come on. Both of my parents caught you two, and you weren't exactly the picture of discretion, Owen.

Owen: No, no, no, I wasn't, all right? I wanted her, all right? And I would have done anything to get her, but donna has only got eyes for your father. Nothing ever happened between the two of us. Well, nothing really happened.

Thorne: Okay, doesn't mean that it can't, unless, of course, you go around blabbing what you know. Then you'll never have her, Owen. How much do you love Donna? You ought to think about that.

Ridge: I'm goin' home.

Stephanie: Ridge, if you choose to ignore Rick's complicity in your daughter's death, that is your decision. Just don't make it for Brooke's sake.

Ridge: I'm doing this because I want to do it, Mother. Why are you badgering me at a time like this?

Stephanie: I'm sorry. I don't--I don't mean to badger you. It's your decision, yours alone, but you're going to have to live with it the rest of your life, and that's what I'm concerned about. Rick is going to be around. He's going to be involved in his mother's life. He's gonna work at Forrester Creations. How do you deal with that?

Ridge: I just want to get passed the rage that I'm feeling, okay? I-I'll do it for Phoebe.

Stephanie: Well, what about Steffy and Tom? Are they supposed to get over their rage as quickly? I mean, he's going to be around, involved in their lives. Every time they see him, they're going to think how their sis--sister died. Honey, these are things that you can't-- (sighs) you can't turn your back on.

Ridge: All I want to do, Mother, is survive this. I've just lost my little girl. To take out the anger on him or anyone else is just gonna make this so much more unbearable for me, and I-- I can't do it. I can't do it.

Stephanie: If you let him get away with it, it may haunt you the rest of your life.

(Door opens)

(door closes)

Donna: Dear Owen, I'm leaving Los Angeles. I love Eric too much to stay. Good luck with the surf line. It's all yours now. Donna.

(Knock on door)

Eric: Come in.

Eric: What are you doing here?

Owen: Frankly, Mr. Forrester, I'm not really sure.

Eric: Well, then maybe you should get the hell out of my office. Maybe you should get out of my building while you're at it.

Owen: Yeah, maybe I should, but I can't, not until you know the truth about Donna and me.

Eric: You got a lot of nerve coming into my office like this.

Owen: Look, sir, I just wanted to come in here--

Eric: You know, I get this. I get this scenario. I understand. It's an old story. You're a younger man, younger than me, and I-I guess that serves you well, doesn't it? It makes you more attractive to a young woman, and I can see how it really strokes your ego to steal a woman from her husband, especially this husband. Well, it's wrong, Owen. It's morally wrong. Maybe this is amazingly old-fashioned for me to say this.

Owen: Look, you saw the two of us making out in my office...

Eric: Get out. Get out.

Owen: Didn't you?

Eric: Get out!

Owen: Look, I'm not leavin' here until you answer my question.

Eric: What the hell is the difference? Donna and I are finished. It's over between us.

Owen: But damn it. Did you see the two of us making out, or didn't you?

Eric: Yes, yes, I did. I saw it on this monitor right here. I saw you. Now get out of my office before I say or do something that we'll both regret.

Owen: Look, it wasn't us.

Eric: What?

Owen: The two people that you saw on that monitor wasn't Donna and me. You have been manipulated, sir. Donna's never stopped loving you.

Donna: (Crying)

Brooke: You spoke with Stephanie.

Ridge: Yes. She made a strong case, Brooke. Rick broke the law. That's very obvious. He was speeding out of control, and my daughter died as a result.

Brooke: Are you going to go to the authorities?

Ridge: This is not about you. It's not even about Rick. This is my decision. I'm doing it for me. I may be wrong. I've been wrong before, but I have to move on.

Brooke: Uh, so what are you saying? What are you going to do?

Ridge: I'm not gonna forget. Phoebe is always gonna be with me. She's with me right now. I'm gonna do what I know she would want me to do. I'm not gonna-- I'm not gonna pursue prosecuting Rick.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Ridge: I told Mother to drop it.

Brooke: (Sighs),

Brooke: (Sighs) (sniffles) Thank you. Thank you.

Brooke: (Crying)
