Donna: I just feel like everything is slipping away, Brooke.

Brooke: You still haven't talked to Eric?

Donna: Stephanie ordered the guards to keep me out.

Brooke: (Sighs) it's not her house. She sold it to Eric. So if he wants to see you... he will.

Donna: (Sighs) Not if Stephanie and the kids have anything to say about it. They're doing everything to keep me from seeing him, communicating with him. I'm banned from the house, Brooke. I mean, they won't even take my calls.

Brooke: They have to let up.

Donna: No, they won't, Brooke. They're in control. They're running Eric's life now. I wrote him a letter.

Brooke: Well, that's a great idea.

Donna: Yeah, for all the good it did. Marcus managed to get into the house and-- and tried to read it to Eric, but the forrester family police dragged him away before he even got very far.

Brooke: Well, at least he knows you're trying to reach him.

Donna: Do you think he cares?

Brooke: Yes, of course he cares. But I'm sure that he's hurt.

Donna: Yes, which is why I am so desperate to talk to him.

Brooke: So that you can tell him your side of the story.

Donna: Yes. I mean, I'm sure they're brainwashing him, Brooke. I mean, they hate me, and they've wanted me out of his life forever. Now--now I've given them the perfect opportunity.

Brooke: (Scoffs) What do you want me to say? I mean, Eric did catch you in bed with your assistant.

Donna: We weren't in the bed, Brooke. We were on the bed. I mean, yes, Owen fell for me, but, look, I wasn't gonna let that happen. But now Eric has this-- this image in his mind, and--and he's hurt, and he's confused. And I bet Stephanie is just loving every single minute of it. I-I bet you anything she's trying to make it even worse, which is why I need to tell my side of the story. Maybe he'll forgive me. Maybe he won't. But still, he has to make up his mind.

Brooke: It has to be his decision.

Donna: Yes.

Brooke: Right. You're absolutely right.

Donna: So you'll help me? Brooke, please. Please, I need somebody on my side.

Brooke: Oh, Donna, I-I-I'm just not sure how we'll do this. But you're right. I mean, Eric is not being told the whole story. He doesn't know the whole picture, and somebody needs to show him that. It certainly won't be Stephanie.

Stephanie: How's he doing, Dr. Seifert?

Dr. Seifert: We are moving in the right direction. His motor function has improved. I want to add another physio session to his schedule.

Ridge: What about the long-term cognitive effect? You said that might be an issue.

Dr. Seifert: It is still too soon to tell, but so far, I'm pleased with your progress, Eric. You are doing very well.

Dr. Seifert: (Sighs)

Stephanie: You're concerned about something?

Dr. Seifert: I get the sense that something is weighing on him. It is not uncommon. Recovering coma patients can be daunted by the uphill struggle ahead of them-- months, perhaps years, of rehabilitation, possible long-term impairment. Eric might be worried about what lies over the horizon.

Stephanie: Yes, well, we'll do everything we can to encourage and support him, you know? Whatever you say.

Dr. Seifert: Very good. Very good.

Ridge: I'll show you out.

Stephanie: Thank you, Dr. Seifert. Doctor says you're doing very well.

Eric: (Grunts)

Stephanie: I know it's been a very difficult ordeal, honey, but you're a strong man, and the worst is behind you.

Eric: Mm-hmm.

Stephanie: (Sighs) Whatever you have to face, we'll fact it together, okay? I honestly believe your future's never been brighter.

Eric: Mm.

Stephanie: Everything you love, you want, you need is here-- your family, your business. You haven't lost anything that's really important or matters.

Eric: (Whispers) Donna. (Sighs)

Donna: Stephanie has Eric right where she's always wanted him-- confused, hurt and helpless. She's taken over his care. She's moved into our house.

Brooke: You say she's hired guards?

Donna: Yes, with orders to keep all logans out.

Brooke: Well, you're still his wife. Legally, she can't do anything.

Donna: Stephanie doesn't give a damn about the law. Well, unless she can use it to torture our family.

Brooke: Ridge made it sound like she was just trying to protect Eric.

Donna: (Scoffs) Same old behavior, same old excuse. She's lost control, Brooke, and now she's doing everything she can to get it back, and it's working.

Brooke: Well, I'm Eric's family, too. He's the father of my children. She can't keep all Logans out.

Donna: Have you seen him yet? No, I didn't think so. I mean, Stephanie won't allow it. She threw out Marcus, and she will do the same thing to you.

Brooke: I'd like to see them try.

Donna: Are you going to the house?

Marcus: Oh, hey. You guys hungry? Want to go get something to eat?

Donna: Uh, no, thanks, sweetheart. I-I'm not really hungry.

Marcus: Okay. Did she tell you what happened at the house?

Brooke: I'm headed there right now.

Marcus: Oh, well, good luck with Stephanie. That woman is one tough piece of work.

Brooke: You think Stephanie's tough. Watch me, Marcus.

Marcus: Ooh-ooh! (Chuckles) it seems like I'm not the only one that got your back.

Donna: Well, it took a little work, but I think I have an ally in my sister Brooke.

Marcus: Well, she must have some clout with the Forresters. I mean, on account of her and Ridge.

Donna: Well, yes, and her and Eric were married once. I mean, he trusts her. I-I think she can help. Well, at least she'll make Eric see that he has to make up his own mind.

Donna's voice: "Please know that I love you above all else, and I will never give up on us, honey bear. I miss you. "

Ridge: Dad can't stop thinking about Donna. Maybe that's why he's feeling so down.

Stephanie: Well, don't bring it up with him, all right?

Ridge: He just found his wife in the arms of another man. He might need to talk about that.

Stephanie: What he needs to do is concentrate on his recovery.

Ridge: Yeah, well, he's not exactly thinking about that at the moment.

Stephanie: I know. I wish he could forget her and the whole stupid mess. I--what I wish is I could just take the memory out of his brain.

Ridge: No, you don't wish that.

Stephanie: Well, the pain of it anyway.

Ridge: It's seeing Owen and Donna together that showed him exactly who she is.

Stephanie: Well, that's true. I guess I should be grateful for that. Let's not discuss it anymore. (Sighs)

(Walkie-talkie chirps)

Stephanie: Yes?

Man: Uh, it's the front gate, ma'am. A woman's headed up there.

Stephanie: Uh, is it someone on the list?

Man: She said she's a Forrester, but I don't-- I don't see her name.

Stephanie: Well, I mean, but who-- well, there must be some--

Man: Brooke.

Stephanie: Oh, no. No, I don't want Brooke Logan up here. No--

Ridge: Come on. Come on. Come on. Uh, Brooke is okay. She's not a problem.

Stephanie: I don't want her up here disturbing your father.

Ridge: Come on, Mother.

Stephanie: We can't let just anybody and everybody in here, can we?

Brooke: My goodness, Stephanie. Eric is a grown man. He can see who he wants.

Stephanie: Yeah, well, he needs his rest. If we let just anyone and everyone in, there'd be a line all the way down the street to Beverly Hills.

Ridge: Mother, Dad would want to see Brooke.

Brooke: I am the mother of his children.

Stephanie: All right. But promise me you won't stay long. And please, please don't mention your sister's name. I mean, it's one thing if you're here as the mother of his children. And it's another if you're here to advocate for Donna.

Stephanie: I just want to make sure that he's awake.

Ridge: Mother, we're going to give them some time alone.

Stephanie: If that's what your father wants, fine.

Ridge: Dad, you have a visitor.

Brooke: (Sighs) Oh, my God! Eric! You look wonderful.

Eric: (Quietly) Brooke.

Stephanie: Uh, he shouldn't talk too much, Brooke. You know, it's rather taxing.

Brooke: Oh, I know. It's okay. It's just--it's just a joy to hear you say my name, to hear you say anything.

Eric: (Chuckles)

Brooke: It's incredible, really.

Eric: Happy-- happy to see y-you

Brooke: Yeah. Yeah, I'm happy to see you, too. Rick and Bridget told me how well you've been doing. And they prayed so hard for your recovery.

Eric: (Grunts)

Brooke: Everybody did. All the people who love you have been rooting for you.

Stephanie: Especially all the florists in Los Angeles. He's gotten gifts and, uh, flowers from all over the world.

Brooke: Yeah, well, not as much as the love and care that he's gotten right here at his very home.

Stephanie: Well, Dr. Seifert said he's doing really well. Just said that a few minutes ago, actually.

Eric: Stephanie. Talk to Brooke... alone.

Stephanie: Of course, if that's what you want. Uh, I'll be downstairs waiting. So will Ridge.

Brooke: (Sighs) (Laughs) I missed you so much. Donna's missed you, too.

Eric: (Sighs)

Marcus: Eric looks good, Mom. It's like I told you last night. He's sitting up. He's awake. He can even talk a little.

Donna: But is-- is he the same?

Marcus: You mean, like, mentally? Well, yeah. I mean, he knew who I was. He didn't seem confused or out of it at all.

Donna: (Sighs) Thank God. I mean, thank God, because the doctors at the hospital, they-- they warned us that there could be some damage. But--but he's good. I mean, he's really-- he's really good?

Marcus: Well, I think he'd be doing a lot better if he could see you. He misses you, Mom. I could see it in his face when I gave him the letter. I mean, he's mad and all, but there's still something there.

Donna: I hope so. (Sighs) more than anything.

Brooke: (Sighs) Oh, God, this must be so confusing to you, like no time has passed at all. And here we are. We're all blubbering and crying and making such a fuss over you, 'cause we all missed you so much.

Eric: I... missed you, to--too.

Brooke: (Sighs) Do you remember anything? Anything from the night that you went into the coma? (Sighs) Well, do you know what happened with Pam?

Eric: Mm. Mm-hmm.

Brooke: Yeah. She's still on the loose. That's probably why Stephanie has all these security guards here. She should send some over to my place, because Donna's staying with me right now. You don't know what happened with Donna and Pam? Uh... (sighs) well... (clears throat) Pam is a really-- she's a big threat to Donna right now, and her son. I mean, Marcus is the one who figured out that you had been poisoned, and then what Pam did to Donna-- (sighs)

Eric: Mm.

Brooke: She--she tried to-- to frame her for poisoning you, and then when that didn't work, she tried to kill her.

Eric: Mm. Mm.

Brooke: No, no, Eric. Don't worry. Donna is fine. She's just having a lot of nightmares right now, and I'm not sure when she's gonna get over that.

Eric: Mm.

Brooke: I'm just surprised the family didn't tell you about this. No, no. I'm not surprised. I am disappointed. And you should be, too. Because you're not being told the whole story. Donna was here for you. She was there every single day by your bedside. She was the one who was praying and fighting for you to wake up. She was protecting you more than anybody else. Really. I mean, you need to know these things, and not from me. You need to hear them from Donna, your wife.

Donna: I can't leave this up to Brooke.

Marcus: What? You don't think that he'll listen to her?

Donna: Eric is my husband. I mean, no matter how convincing Brooke is, it's between us. I've gotta get myself into the house, even if I have to drive my car through the front door.

Marcus: Wait a minute, Mom. Hold on now. Now if you want to get into that house, you gotta go stealth. Under the radar.

Donna: Stephanie probably has guards at every door and every window.

Marcus: Mm-hmm, and they're probably all looking for you.

Donna: Exactly.

Marcus: Exactly. Look, we gotta come up with a plan, Mom, something that they're not gonna figure out, something real, like, ingenious. (Chuckles)

Donna: You already have something in mind, don't you?

Marcus: Mm-hmm. A real smooth way to get you into that house.

Stephanie: We have no idea what's going on up there.

Ridge: Dad asked us to leave.

Stephanie: Yeah, but she could be telling him anything and getting him upset.

Ridge: No, she understands his condition.

Stephanie: (Scoffs) If she starts talking about Donna, he'll start hyperventilating all over again.

Ridge: Seeing Owen and Donna together was kind of a shock. I don't think he'll have that reaction again.

Stephanie: Brooke thinks I'm manipulating the situation. And the truth is it was your father's decision to throw Donna out of the house, not mine. And if he doesn't want to talk about Donna, then-- then Brooke has no right to dredge it all up.

Ridge: Look, we don't know what's happening, do we?

Stephanie: Well, I'm gonna go find out.

Ridge: No, Mother. Stop. Come on.

Stephanie: She's been up there long enough. She's seen him. She's talked to him. It's time for her to leave.

Brooke: She didn't abandon you, Eric. Donna never gave up. I'm not going to try to explain what you saw or even excuse it. And neither will Donna. She just wants to talk to you.

Eric: (Sighs)

Brooke: She's beside herself wondering how you are. She can't get any information. Stephanie won't let her on the property. She's not taking any of her calls. Donna was completely devoted to taking care of you. And if it wasn't by your bedside, it was at work. She was running the business exactly the way you would want it to be run. And sometimes it was very stressful. She was very overwhelmed. But she wouldn't let anybody give up, even when at times she wondered herself. You really would have been proud of her. She's hurt you. And what you saw-- you have every right to be confused. But, Eric, it wasn't what you think. Really. She was just trying to find comfort, that's all.

Stephanie: What are you telling him?

Brooke: I'm telling him what he needs to know.

Stephanie: Well, Brooke, leave him alone.

Brooke: Why are you keeping things from him?

Stephanie: His condition is tenuous at best. Now you're only upsetting him. You know that. You shouldn't be telling him things that just confuse him and hurt him. It'd be better, you know, if you left.

Brooke: You can't kick me out of here. This isn't even your house. And you're not his wife. Donna is.

Stephanie: (Scoffs) Well, not for much longer. Believe me. His eyes have been opened. Listen, he's where he belongs-- here in his home with his family, with me. I'm not going to let your sister ever hurt him again. Believe me.

Brooke: You make it sound like you're doing this out of love for Eric, but you're not. You're doing it to control the situation.

Stephanie: Oh, my God.

Brooke: You're trying to twist things around to make it work for you. Well, he wants to see Donna. He wants to hear what she was to say. And maybe they'll get a divorce. I don't know. But Eric is the one who should decide that. Not you. He should decide who he's going to spend the rest of his life with. And I'm not gonna let you stand in the way of that. I won't allow it.
