Brooke: I'm very worried about Jack. I barely slept last night.
Rick: I bet. I should not have said anything.
Brooke: No, you should have said something the moment this problem resurfaced.
Rick: Mom, we are dealing with it, okay?
Brooke: How? Look, if Taylor's having a problem relating to her son, we should find a solution to help her.
Rick: We are working on a solution, Mother. You just gotta give Taylor and I some time, okay?
Brooke: How much time?
Rick: Are you-- (sighs)
Brooke: Honey, I'm sure this is horrible for Taylor.
Rick: Yeah, it is.
Brooke: But can you imagine what it's doing for little Jack? I mean, no mother to relate to?
Rick: He has a mother, and you know it.
Brooke: (Sighs)
Ridge: Hey, Rick.
Rick: Hey. Look, Mom, I'm sorry. I gotta go. I promised Bridget I would, um, meet her at, uh, Dad's. Love you.
Ridge: Everything okay?
Brooke: (Sighs) Yeah, everything's just fine. How about with you?
Ridge: (Sighs) Could not be better.
Brooke: (Scoffs) How's your father?
Ridge: Everything feels so different this morning. It's like he's come back from the dead.
Brooke: He has.
Ridge: Thanks to Mother. Look, I know you want to see him, as well, and you will.
Brooke: No, I-I understand, really.
Ridge: We just have to keep him calm and relaxed until he gets his bearings back. Nothing to upset him, no calls from work, and especially no Donna.
Donna: I mean, I couldn't even get into my own house. Eric was on the other side of the door, and I couldn't even see him. So I-I wrote him a letter to try to explain everything, but I-I don't even know how to get it to him. I mean, I have been waiting, and I've been hoping, and I've been praying for him to wake up from this coma, and now that he has, I-I mean, he's there and able to communicate, and-- (sighs) I-I just want to talk-- I just want to talk to him. I just--I just want to hold him.
Marcus: It must have been real upsetting for Eric to see you with Owen like that.
Donna: Owen was comforting me, that's all.
Marcus: Kissing you is comforting you, Mom?
Donna: Marcus, I honestly believed that he was never coming back to me. If I thought there was any kind of a chance, I-- tell me you believe me. Tell me you know that this is just some big misunderstanding.
Stephanie: Something on your mind?
Eric: (Sighs)
Eric: Donna.
Stephanie: I think we should talk about that when you're stronger.
Eric: No. Now. (Walkie-talkie chirps)
Stephanie: Yes, Thorne?
Thorne: Bridget and Rick are here to see Dad.
Stephanie: Well, I-I'm sure he'd be happy to see them.
Thorne: Okay, you got it.
(Walkie-talkie chirps)
Bridget: Well, how is he? How well can Dad communicate?
Thorne: Well, he's doing a lot better than I expected, I mean, after everything that he's been through. Listen, you guys want some coffee?
Bridget: No, thanks. I'm--
Rick: Uh, no. I'm good, thanks.
Thorne: Okay.
Rick: Uh, Bridget, I, um, I want to talk to you about something before we go upstairs. I just--
Bridget: What?
Rick: Um, Mom told me about the pregnancy between Nick and Katie, and...
Bridget: Oh, Rick, I don't want to talk about it. I just want to focus on Dad.
Rick: Yeah, no, that's fine. I completely understand.
Stephanie: There you are. I'm so glad to see you.
Rick: Hi.
Stephanie: Your father's gonna be so happy to see you.
Bridget: It's good to see you, too. I can't believe it.
Stephanie: I know. Isn't it fabulous?
Bridget: Oh, and where's Donna? Is she upstairs? She must be on cloud nine.
Stephanie: Uh, no, she is not, and she's not going to be.
Rick: Why?
Bridget: Why?
Stephanie: I'm not gonna let her anywhere near your father.
Stephanie: So, uh, well, he-- he saw them in the bedroom...
Bridget: (Groans)
Stephanie: On the bed.
Bridget: Donna and Owen?
Stephanie: Does it really surprise you?
Bridget: Kind of, yes. I spent many nights with Donna at the hospital. She was really upset about Dad.
Rick: All right, so--so where do things stand right now?
Stephanie: She's out of his life.
Rick: And this is what Dad wants?
Stephanie: Well, wouldn't you if you came out of a coma and saw your wife making love with another man?
Bridget: It makes me sick.
Rick: Touché.
Stephanie: Look, I-I wanted to discuss this with you before you went upstairs, because I don't think it's a good idea to bring up Donna's name. I don't want your father upset. I don't want to take any chances, Bridget, that we could lose him again. And as long as we're in agreement on this, then, of course, let's go upstairs and see your father.
Rick: Good. (Chuckles)
Brooke: Donna insists it was a misunderstanding.
Ridge: Oh, come on, Logan. This has been goin' on for a long time now. Mother walked in on the two of them the other day. Do you know that?
Brooke: Really?
Ridge: Yes, really. Forget about Donna. This is a huge day for our family. And to be honest, I didn't think I'd ever see it. Dad has come back to us, and now the challenge is to keep him back. That means protecting him from everything that would be stressful. And whether we agree or not about Donna, she's a major source of stress for him, especially after what he saw.
Stephanie: Eric?
Bridget: Oh, Dad.
Eric: Bridge.
Bridget: Oh, Daddy. (Sniffles)
Eric: Oh.
Donna: Please tell me that you believe me, that Eric is the only man that I love, will ever love.
Marcus: Of course, I believe you, Mom, but Owen--you know he's fallen hard for you, right?
Donna: Look, and I will take care of that, okay? But in the meantime, I-I need you to do something for me.
Marcus: What's that?
Donna: I need you to try to give this letter to Eric. (Sighs)
Marcus: Okay, but you're sure you don't want to wait a couple of days and just give it to him yourself?
Donna: Honey, no. I-I can't wait a couple days. My God. Knowing that he's there, conscious and-- (sighs) look, and Stephanie and the kids are there with him, and who knows what they're saying? I need him to know my side of the story, okay? I-I just--I need him to hear it.
Marcus: Okay. Okay, I'll do it.
Donna: Okay.
Marcus: All right.
Donna: Okay, thank you, honey, thank you. Thank you.
Marcus: All right, look, you sit tight, okay? I'll be back.
Donna: (Sighs)
(Birds chirping)
Marcus: I knew you'd be trouble.
Owen: Look, man, I care about your mom, and I never meant to--
Marcus: Oh, shut up. Shut up. Save it for my mom. She has something to say to you. You know, and why don't you do us all a favor and when she's done, leave, and this time, stay away, Owen.
Eric: My beautiful... daughter.
Bridget: (Sniffles) ...who needs her daddy for so many more years.
Eric: I will be here.
Bridget: Yeah.
Rick: All right, Rick's turn. (Chuckles) (sniffles)
Rick: Dad. Dad. Dad. Oh, my God. (Sniffles)
Eric: Ah, good.
Rick: (Sighs)
Eric: Good... to be back.
Rick: You know, you had us worried for a minute there.
Eric: One minute?
Rick: (Laughs) all right, maybe it was like five, ten tops. Look, Mom wanted to be here, uh, to see you, but she didn't know if you were well enough.
Eric: Well enough...
Rick: You're well.
Eric: Now. Now.
Rick: Okay. Okay. You know what? I'm gonna-- I'm gonna tell her that, and she's gonna be here, and we're all gonna be together, okay? All of us. Okay.
Eric: Hmm?
Rick: Yeah.
Brooke: (Sighs) I know Donna may be a source of stress to Eric, but I think not seeing her would be even more stressful.
Ridge: Logan, he doesn't really want to see her.
Brooke: Are those his words or Stephanie's?
Ridge: Why don't we just give it some time, okay? Please?
Brooke: Ridge, she's waited for this moment as long and as intensely as the rest of us, maybe even more so. She really loves Eric.
Ridge: Really? Then what was she doing in bed with Owen?
Brooke: That was a mistake. There's no doubt about it.
Ridge: A mistake, yeah, okay.
Brooke: But Eric did tell her that if anything were to ever happen to him, that she should move on with here life. So can you blame her for doing that? She sat by his bedside and suffered for many, many months.
Ridge: Brooke, my father came back to life because of my mother's determination. I was there. I saw it. It was as close to divine intervention as I've ever seen. My father happened to make his way down the hall to another bedroom, and he found your sister with Owen. He was gasping for air. We thought he was gonna drop dead right there and then. We're not manipulating him. We're just trying to protect him after fighting the battle of his life. Can you understand that?
Brooke: Yes, of course I can. He's your father, and you will protect him at all cost. Just promise me something-- that when he gets better and if he wants to see Donna, that it will be his choice, not Stephanie's. Why are you smiling?
Ridge: Because we both know my father. You honestly think that Mother or anyone else would be able to keep Dad from seeing Donna if that's what he truly wanted to do?
Brooke: (Chuckles)
Donna: They kicked me out of my own house.
Owen: I'm sorry.
Donna: Owen, you are a wonderful man, and I owe you so much, and I won't forget it, but I'm--I'm a married woman.
Owen: Come on, you got to admit that we've got something here, something--something special.
Donna: Maybe, maybe if Eric hadn't survived, but he did, thank God, and now I-I need you to do something for me.
Owen: What?
Donna: I need you to help me make Eric understand that what he saw in that room was just his wife being comforted by a friend and nothing more.
Owen: Look, come on, Donna. You really think that Eric's family's gonna let the two of you be happy together, especially after what they just saw? Come on, you don't need them. I'm sure you're gonna be well taken care of.
Donna: I don't want to end my marriage, Owen. Look, I-I never made you believe otherwise. I'm sorry if you're--you're hurt or--or disappointed.
Owen: Look, I'm hurt, and I'm disappointed for you. Look, come on, to choose this life, constantly living in conflict with these people-- they're gonna kick you out of the company, and they're gonna strip you of everything that you've ever achieved, and you don't deserve that.
Donna: I don't care, Owen. Look, I just want my husband back, which is why I-- you and me... we can't see each other anymore.
(Knock on door)
Thorne: Whoa, where the hell do you think you're going?
Marcus: I'm going to see your father, and don't you dare try to stop me.
Thorne: Oh.
Brooke: Nick, I've been leaving messages for you, and I really need to talk to you about Jack. Please call me.
Rick: Mom, hang up the phone. What the hell are you thinking? You cannot be doing that.
(Fiesta music playing)
(Walkie-talkie chirps)
Thorne: Hey, this is Thorne. Can you get security up to my dad's room right away? Thanks.
Marcus: Oh, man. I'm really glad to see you.
Donna: Good-bye, Owen.
Owen: Look, Donna, you don't have to do this.
Donna: Yes, I do. I have to focus on my husband, and I-- I can't do it while you're here.
Owen: Just listen to me. These feeling between us-- they're real. And I know that's why you want me to leave, but they're not gonna go away. Never.
Donna: No, they will. They will when you're gone.
Owen: Well, I'm not leaving.
Donna: Wh--why are you doing this?
Owen: Look, because. Because I love you, all right? I mean, how many ways am I gonna have to say it?
Donna: I love my husband.
Owen: You know what? Fine. Fine. You know what? You go to him. Go to him and nurse him back to health. But I'll tell you, he can't give you this.
Rick: You promised to give Taylor some time. And now you're calling Nick? You're leaving messages?
Brooke: We need to do something to help Jack.
Rick: Like what? Are you going after custody again? Is that where this is heading?
Brooke: No. God! That is not my intention.
Rick: Then what is?
Brooke: He is suffering. He needs some help. We have to be there for him. Taylor--he-- he's certainly not getting what he needs from his mother.
Rick: Well, I'm sorry about that, Mom, but there's really nothing you can do about it.
Brooke: Yes, there is. I am his mother, too, and he needs me. I'm going to be there for him.
Marcus: Hey, Eric. My mother loves you so much, man. But they won't let her see you. She needs to explain. She, um, she wrote you this letter. You want me to read it?
Eric: Yes.
Marcus: (Sighs)
Marcus: "My darling Eric, words can't begin to express how overwhelmed I am that you've came back to all of us. I hoped and prayed and waited for so long. Even when others had given up hope, I refused to really believe you were truly gone. But then I found out my prayers had been--
Thorne: Marcus! Let's go. You're coming with us.
Marcus: No, guys, just give me a few more minutes. Please.
Thorne: No. You're disturbing my father. Now let's go.
Marcus: Come on, man. Let me go. Man, get off me.
Man: Let's go.
Thorne: Hey, you okay?
Eric: Okay. Okay.
Thorne: All right, listen. I'll be back in a minute, okay? All right.
Donna's voice: Eric, I never stopped praying for your recovery. I know you saw Owen and me together, and... I needed comfort. I was convinced that you were gone, never coming back. I can't begin to describe what that thought did to me. Please know that I love you above all else, and I will never give up on us, honey bear. I miss you. Donna."
Stephanie: Eric. I'm so sorry that that happened, honey Marcus' mother shouldn't use him that way, especially when you've made it so clear you don't want to see her again. Are you all right?
Eric: Y-yes. All--all right.
Stephanie: Good. Okay. Um, I've got your lunch ready. I'll just go down, and I'll bring it right up, okay?
Eric: Yes.
Donna's voice: Please know that I love you above all else, and I will never give up on us, honey bear. I miss you."
Eric: (Sighs)
