Owen: Look, let her go, Lieutenant. Donna didn't drug her husband. I did.

Donna: No.

Owen: I did it. I'm the one that you want.

Ridge: You bastard!

Thorne: You put my father in a coma!

Ridge: Bastard!

Lt. Baker: All right, break it up. Break it up. Out. Back it up. Back it up.

Charlie: Hey, hey, hey, hey.

Owen: Look, I put the potassium in the gin just like Marcus said, and I hid the capsules in her drawer.

Donna: Why? How could you?

Marcus: Man, she trusted you.

Felicia: You greedy little weasel. You tried to kill my father. And for what, for her?

Stephanie: Lieutenant, get this son of a bitch out of here, please.

Charlie: Let's go.

Dr. Caspary: You did the right thing.

Katie: I know these checkups are very important, especially for a pregnancy like mine.

Dr. Caspary: If you're gonna carry this baby to term, you'll have to be monitored very carefully.

Katie: Which is why I wanted to talk to you. I need to be assured that everything that happens in this office is completely confidential.

Dr. Caspary: Of course.

Katie: No, I mean absolutely confidential, because my niece works in this building. She's in the cafeteria. She walks the halls. She probably knows people who work for you.

Dr. Caspary: My staff and I are completely professional. It won't be a problem.

Katie: No whispers, no gossip.

Dr. Caspary: None. You have my absolute assurance.

Katie: Okay. (Sighs)

Dr. Caspary: Nick?

Nick: Dr. Caspary.

Katie: Um, this is the father of my baby.

Stephen: Honey, honey, slow down, slow down. I can't understand you. Donna, what?

Donna: It was all a lie, Dad, everything, everything. He used me. I mean, and poor Eric. It's terrible.

Stephen: Eric? Are you at the hospital?

Donna: No, no, I'm home.

Stephen: Well, you stay put. Your mother and I we'll be right there.

Brooke: Hey.

Felicia: More Logans on the way? Great.

Brooke: (Sighs) Eric is Donna's husband.

Felicia: Yeah, well, he's my father, and if it weren't for you and your vicious little guard dog, he wouldn't be fighting for his life right now.

Ridge: Come on, Felicia. We're all in shock here. Come on.

Thorne: Not Marcus. He knew somethin' was wrong.

Felicia: Well, did you? Then why didn't you make it clear if you felt that Owen was the one responsible? Why are we just hearing about it now?

Bridget: Because he needed proof, Felicia.

Marcus: Hey, and now the cops have a confession, okay? Now Owen's not gonna get away with it.

Felicia: Great. Doesn't really help our father, though, does it? Dad's not just gonna magically wake up because that lunatic is in custody.

Stephanie: It's your fault. Eric is in the hospital because of you.

Donna: Owen just confessed.

Stephanie: I don't care what he confessed. He was not involved with this family until you brought him into our lives, our company and this house. He did this to Eric, and my guess is he did it for you.

Katie: We understand that this pregnancy is risky for more reasons than one.

Dr. Caspary: I see.

Nick: We haven't told Bridget yet. We want to make sure the baby makes it through the first trimester.

Dr. Caspary: Miscarriage is a concern for pregnant heart transplant recipients, but it's not the only concern.

Nick: It's high risk, isn't it?

Dr. Caspary: Every case is different. Why don't we check things out, and we can talk about your options, plan a course of action.

Katie: Okay.

Nick: Well, let's take a look at the little guy.

Dr. Caspary: Oh, no ultrasound today, but I will be listening to the fetal heartbeat. If you could just lie back, lift your shirt. This might be a little cold.

Katie: Hmm. (Monitor beeps) (Echoey sound)

Dr. Caspary: Where are you hiding? (Fetal heart beating)

Katie: (Gasps)

Dr. Caspary: There's your baby.

Katie: It's so fast.

Dr. Caspary: Mm-hmm. That's normal. Good strong heartbeat.

Dr. Caspary: Okay.

Katie: Thanks.

Dr. Caspary: So your labs look good. H.C.G. levels are normal, and your baby appears to be thriving. So far, so good.

Brooke: Don't you dare lay this on Donna.

Marcus: Damn right. Now Owen confessed. He's the one you should be mad at.

Thorne: Your mother gave him access, Marcus.

Donna: I didn't know what he was capable of. I still can't believe it.

Marcus: Look, my mom is the victim here, okay?

Stephanie: I'm not so sure about that.

Brooke: Owen is the one who tried to kill Eric.

Stephanie: Yeah, but the police found the potassium chloride up in her bedroom, right?

Marcus: And I'm telling you he left it there.

Stephanie: And why would he do that?

Marcus: Well, I don't know, Stephanie. The guy's a creep. Who knows how his jacked-up mind works?

Stephanie: Well, I'll tell you what I think, Marcus. I think your mother and Owen are in it together. I think you, missy, are in this with him up to your ears.

Owen: Look, I did it. I confessed. You don't need to ask me any more questions.

Lt. Baker: Humor me.

Charlie: You've been read your Miranda rights.

Owen: I don't need a lawyer. Just give me a pen and a piece of paper.

Lt. Baker: Did I hear somebody say that you were new in town?

Owen: Yeah. Why, you want to show me where the best place to get doughnuts is?

Charlie: Show some respect.

Lt. Baker: That's all right, Charles. Owen here is just tryin' to rile me up, get me to move this thing on a little faster.

Charlie: Why don't we?

Lt. Baker: You were a paralegal, right?

Owen: And a legal investigator.

Lt. Baker: Well, then you know we didn't find any evidence to tie you to this crime, but you confessed anyway, as soon as we turned our eyes towards Donna. Now that makes me curious, Mr. Knight. What exactly is your relationship with the new Mrs. Forrester?

Brooke: Whatever you're thinking, don't.

Stephanie: Don't? Don't question who benefits from all of this? Eric is in a coma. My children have been forced out of their own company, and this--this guy Owen is going to go to jail. So I'm not supposed to question who benefits the most from this?

Bridget: Stephanie, stop. She loves my dad. She would never intentionally hurt him.

Stephanie: She's already hurt him, Bridget. The moment she walked into his life, he started making bad decisions. He walked out on our marriage. He's thrown away his reputation. I knew this would end badly, but I--who would ever think he'd end up incapacitated?

Donna: I didn't have anything to do with that.

Stephanie: Is Owen your lover?

Donna: What?

Brooke: That's enough.

Donna: Oh, I am 100% committed to Eric. I have done everything to protect him and keep him alive, so don't you dare question me.

Felicia: Oh, my God. Of course, you have, because you have his power of attorney. When Dad is out of it, you control his entire fortune, but if Dad dies, God forbid, the will splits it among all of us.

Marcus: No, if he dies, then my mom would be devastated.

Brooke: She's already devastated.

Donna: (Sighs)

Brooke: We all are. Nobody anticipated that somebody would do this to Eric.

(Door opens)

Stephen: Donna?

Donna: Dad, Dad, Mom.

Beth: What is going on?

Donna: Eric's heart attack-- it w-wasn't from natural causes. He was drugged.

Beth: Oh, my God.

Bridget: The elevated levels of potassium in his system triggered a heart attack.

Beth: Well, who would do such a thing?

Stephen: Do the police have any clues?

Ridge: They have a suspect.

Brooke: They arrested Donna's assistant. He confessed.

Stephanie: Yeah, well, there's a lot more going on to just that.

Marcus: No, there isn't.

Donna: Stephanie thinks I'm involved.

Beth: What?

Stephen: You leave my daughter alone. She's suffered enough because of you. You people blame her for everything in your business and your personal lives. Well, you're not layin' this on her.

Beth: Donna, wait.

(Door slams)

Dr. Caspary: I have been conferring with your transplant surgeon. It's imperative that Dr. Patrick and I coordinate your treatment.

Katie: You're just sharing medical information, right?

Dr. Caspary: That's correct.

Nick: Good.

Dr. Caspary: At our last meeting, Dr. Patrick suggested I give you this and ask you to read it. Now keep in mind that Dr. Patrick's primary concern is you, his patient. It's his job to ensure that you make a full recovery and live a long and fulfilling life. Even though this baby is healthy now, carrying it to full term could jeopardize your health, maybe your life. I'll give you some time to look that over, and when I come back, I'll answer any questions you might have, okay?

Katie: Thanks.

Nick: Yeah.

Owen: Why does this have to be so difficult?

Lt. Baker: You got somewhere else to be?

Charlie: Dad, he confessed. All we need now is a signed statement.

Lt. Baker: Uh, he'll do it as soon as he answers my questions. Now where'd you get the potassium chloride? Do you have a friend that works in a pharmacy or maybe a hospital?

Owen: It'll all be in my statement.

Lt. Baker: Well, I'm kind of old-school. I need to hear it, get an idea of the emotion behind the motive.

Owen: Greed. Is that old-school enough for you?

Lt. Baker: You poisoned Eric Forrester because you wanted his money?

Owen: And his power.

Charlie: And his wife.

Owen: I knew I didn't stand a chance with him alive. She's completely devoted to him.

Lt. Baker: So there's nothing going on between you and the Mrs.?

Owen: I told you, no. I was gonna make my move after the old man was dead.

Charlie: Comfort the grieving widow.

Owen: Is it that hard to understand? I came out to L.A. I got sucked into this life. I fell for the--the beautiful, wealthy woman, and I figured I could take her husband's place. Case closed.

(Door slams)

Stephanie: I don't believe for a second that Owen acted alone.

Stephen: Donna said he did.

Beth: I'm going after her to make sure she's all right.

Marcus: No, I'll go, because if I have to listen to any more of this garbage, I'm gonna end up hurting somebody.

Stephanie: Oh, well, I think someone ought to make sure you don't leave the property.

Stephen: Oh, come on, Stephanie.

Bridget: Yeah, if Marcus and Donna were involved, why would Marcus ask me to test Dad's blood?

Felicia: Maybe Owen was on to them and threatened to go to the cops.

Brooke: Why would Owen set Donna up if they're working together?

Stephanie: How do you know Owen even hid the pills?

Brooke: He confessed.

Beth: What pills?

Bridget: The potassium chloride that triggered Dad's heart attack. They found those pills in Donna's bedroom.

Felicia: You know what? I think they were working together to give the jury another version of the crime. Owen is a paralegal. He would know how to create reasonable doubt.

Stephen: You are looking for a conspiracy where there isn't one. He confessed. The end of the story. Donna had nothing to do with it, nothing.

(Birds chirping)

Steffy: Hey, what's wrong? What's with all the cars?

Marcus: Oh, yeah, everybody but Mom's. She took off. Damn.

Steffy: Took off? Why?

Marcus: Well, to get away from your family. They just won't let up. Owen confessed to drugging your granddad, but they still want to blame Mom.

Steffy: My grandfather was drugged?

Marcus: Yeah, that's what I've been workin' on. You see, Bridget did some blood work. Owen dosed Eric with potassium. That's what caused his heart attack.

Steffy: But why? Why would Owen do something like that?

Nick: "Terminating a high-risk pregnancy." (Sighs)

Katie: You know why Dr. Patrick wants us to read this.

Nick: Because he wants you to consider ending this pregnancy. He's concerned about your health.

Katie: It won't come to that.

Nick: But it could. Listen, we gotta talk about this before we're in some crisis situation.

Katie: Look, Nick, I've done research. Transplant patients can have normal, healthy children. Yes, granted, most women get pregnant several years after they have their transplant, but it's not impossible.

Nick: You just had surgery. You're still recovering.

Nick: You know, this could not only be high risk for the baby. It could be dangerous for you, too.

Steffy: Wait, you figured this out on your own?

Marcus: Well, yeah. Bridget did the blood test. I mean, something didn't add up. I just--I just felt something was wrong.

Steffy: Snow Owen's in jail.

Marcus: Yeah, and that's where he's gonna stay for a very long time. There's no way that sicko's gonna be let back on the streets again.

Brooke: Eric has been in a coma for weeks, and the man that put him there just confessed, so why are you still attacking Donna?

Beth: You should be grateful the person responsible is in custody.

Ridge: Beth's right. Now we know what caused Dad's heart attack. Owen can tell the police exactly how much potassium he gave him.

Stephanie: Bridget, is that true? Could that help your father?

Felicia: That's right. They can make an antidote, right?

Bridget: The potassium overdose caused the heart attack, and the heart attack caused the coma. You don't really pull back that easily from something like that. But Dad's doctors now have the lab reports, and usually any information that explains what caused the condition is helpful.

Owen: You shouldn't be here.

Donna: You were supposed to be my friend.

Owen: The police might think that you're involved.

Donna: Why, Owen? Tell me why.

Owen: It's in my statement. You can read it.

Donna: No, I want to hear it from you. I want to know how you could do this to Eric, to me. I defended you. I believed in you. I trusted you, and--and you betrayed me and set me up.

Owen: I didn't.

Donna: Oh, my God. You--you can't stop lying, even now.

Owen: Look, I'm not lying. I had nothing to do with what happened to Eric.

Donna: You think the police are listening? Do you want to try to sound innocent now?

Owen: No. I want them to think that I did it.

Donna: You know, why should I listen to anything that you say?

Owen: Because you know that I couldn't do this.

Donna: You said you did.

Owen: To protect you. Donna, I am not an evil person, and I'm not after you or Eric's money. I stood by you because you needed me, and today, you needed me more than ever. If I hadn't taken the fall, the Forresters and the police would have come after you, and you'd be the one in here, and I couldn't live with that. Look, Donna, I know that you would never hurt Eric, but please, please know that I wouldn't hurt him either, but somebody out there did.

Owen: Whoever wanted to murder your husband is still out there.

Owen: They could come back and try to finish the job.

Owen: That scares the hell outta me. Who knows what else they're capable of?

Owen: To try to kill someone as generous and thoughtful as Eric and set you up for it-- who could do something so terrible?

Owen: Who would want to see Eric Forrester dead?
