Hold on hold on tight yeah, it's so right and we're gonna make it hold on I'll hold you tonight let love take flight and we're gonna make it hold on we're gonna make it
Brooke: Ridge? What are you doing?
Ridge: This used to be my office, Logan.
Brooke: (Sighs) And it's painful for you to be here, so you shouldn't be.
Ridge: Well, I've still got enough clout to get in the building. I got that going for me.
Brooke: Oh, sweetheart, don't do this to yourself.
Ridge: What? I'm just supposed to walk away from the company my father built?
Brooke: How are things over at the hospital?
Ridge: No change. Donna was right about not giving up on my dad. But she's dead wrong on what's best for this company.
Brooke: Well, God willing, Eric will recover, and he'll straighten all this out. But in the meantime, you will consider this a much-needed vacation.
Ridge: (Laughs) And do what while you're here working?
Brooke: (Laughs) I don't know. Take some time for yourself. Go out with the kids. They always cheer you up.
Ridge: Well, Steffy's a little occupied right now... with Marcus.
Brooke: Doing what?
Ridge: Hmm. I can tell you what they better not be doing.
Katie: I don't care if it's wrong. I can't regret the fact that I'm having your baby.
Nick: Well, if it's wrong, then I'm guilty, too.
Katie: You really mean that?
Nick: (Sighs) I'd be lying if I didn't say this confused me at first. (Clears throat) You know, I--
Nick: It should have felt wrong to me, and it didn't. And I should have feared all the complications that we now face, and I didn't. I was wondering why. (Laughs) Why? You know, when you were on that island sick, and I was there with you... (sighs) my prayer was that before you died, you'd know how I felt.
Nick: So now we're there. And I hope that you can feel that I love you.
Katie: (Sniffles)
Katie: (Sighs)
Nick: I'm sorry if I've upset you.
Katie: You haven't. You haven't. I-I think you just said that you love me, and I-- I love you, too. You must know that. That's why this baby is so precious, is so important to me, because--because it's yours. It's ours. It's the one thing I have that we share, and-- only we can't.
Nick: But we have to. This baby's not going away. You know that.
Katie: (Sighs) But what about everything else--
Nick: No, no, no, no. No "buts" about it. Listen to me. This child was conceived in the most magical moment. And this baby is gonna be amazing. This child is gonna be so special and bring so much joy into the world, because of love, because it was conceived in the deepest, most honest form of love, and that's what he'll know.
Katie: I hear what you're saying, and I know it's true, and to hear those words coming out of your mouth-- they bring me so much joy. I never in my wildest dreams ever thought that I would hear you say those things to me. I feel like I'm dreaming. But I know I'm not. I know I'm gonna have to wake up. This is just all so confusing. I-I don't know what I'm allowed to feel. I don't know if I'm allowed to be happy or excited. Help me, Nick. Help me. Because a part of me hates myself for this.
Ridge: I talked to Marcus today. Told him flat out, "Stay away from Steffy."
Brooke: Oh, Ridge.
Ridge: What? You disagree?
Brooke: (Sighs) Well, Steffy's a grown woman, and you're under a lot of stress.
Ridge: So what?
Brooke: You're not really in a good place right now to get involved in your daughter's love life. That would just be a formula for disaster.
Ridge: It doesn't matter what's going on with me. We know virtually nothing about Marcus. What, has he been here six, eight weeks is all?
Brooke: We know he's a good worker.
Ridge: Okay, that's to his credit. But this is not about his work habits.
Brooke: Right. You're talking about his connection with my sister.
Ridge: Your sister has taken over this company. Yes, maybe she had a right to do that legally. But morally and ethically? This company belongs to my father, my mother and their children. Now Donna doesn't care about that. She fires me and brings in her own team. And now-- now her son's got eyes for my daughter. I'd be a fool not to see what's going on here.
Brooke: What do you think is going on?
Ridge: The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, my dear. Why not let Marcus have a big chunk of the Forrester pie, just like Mommy?
Man: Oh, I'm-- I'm so sorry. I-I thought this was empty.
Steffy: Well, it isn't.
Man: Do you, um, need towels?
Marcus: Man, does it look like we need towels, man?
Man: I'm really sorry.
Marcus: (Laughs)
Steffy: (Laughs)
Marcus: Oh, man.
Steffy: I thought it was my--
Marcus: Yeah, your-- mm-hmm, yeah, your dad.
Steffy: (Laughs) Yeah.
Marcus: Oh, man.
Steffy: Come here. Come here.
Marcus: You know, I wish that there was a way that I could just win him over, you know?
Steffy: (Sighs) Don't worry about that. My dad will come around eventually.
Marcus: Mm.
Steffy: Marcus, you're a good guy. My dad's gonna realize that.
Marcus: No, I'm a guy who has the hots for his daughter. That's what he sees.
Steffy: That's something he's imagining.
Marcus: Well, hel-- hello, Steffy. It's not too far from the truth.
Steffy: You're really worried about him, huh?
Marcus: Yeah, I just don't want to mess this up. I want to do it the right way.
Steffy: You are doing it right.
Marcus: Yeah, okay. This? I mean, yeah, this is-- this is cool. But there's more to it than just this.
Steffy: Mm.
Marcus: You know, it's the thing about family. And you Forresters, I mean, you guys know about family. I mean, you guys do the family thing better than anybody I know.
Steffy: Yeah.
Marcus: And your dad probably thinks I don't know zip about family. And if he knew what we were doing right now, it would sure prove him right. Well, at least in his eyes, it would. Here I am all over his daughter instead of doing it the proper way.
Steffy: The proper way?
Marcus: Yeah, you know, getting to know your dad, your mom, the rest of your family, working my way in instead of thinking that I'm already there, thinking I've earned it, but I haven't. Steffy, all I want is you, and that scares him. I mean, hell, it'd scare me, too, if I was in his shoes.
Steffy: So what do you want to do?
Marcus: I want to prove to him that I'm worthy, that I care, and I want what's best for you, too. Look, I'm not gonna give you up, okay?
Steffy: Mm-hmm.
Marcus: And I want him to know that. But I also want him to know that his baby girl is getting a man who can take care of her just as any other guy in Beverly Hills.
Brooke: You think Marcus is using Steffy purely because she's a Forrester and what that could do for him?
Ridge: It's possible, isn't it?
Brooke: Well, I-I guess. Anything is possible, but--
Ridge: Well, that's the problem, though. I don't really know this guy. And the fact is, he's aggressively perusing my daughter when I plainly told him I'm not pleased about that. That doesn't bode well for the guy.
Brooke: Ridge, he's young.
Ridge: So is Steffy. Another problem.
Brooke: My point is young people that age, they don't really care about pleasing their parents or their girlfriend's parents. I mean, maybe they're just attracted to each other. Or maybe they're in love.
Ridge: Yech.
Brooke: And if they are-- well, you and I were that age once. We didn't give two hoots about what Mom and Dad thought about it.
Ridge: No. Maybe we should have.
Brooke: Oh, really?
Ridge: All right, your point is well taken. What am I supposed to do? Just back off and go, "Oh, young love. I remember it well."
Brooke: Uh, no. You're aging yourself. We're not that old yet. You know, I'm still not the perfect mate for Stephanie's number one son. So perhaps we should wait to get married until Stephanie and I are best of friends.
Ridge: (Laughs) Would you do that?
Brooke: No way.
Ridge: Mm-hmm.
Brooke: Look, Ridge... (sighs) This whole thing happened last summer with Rick and Phoebe, and it ended up with you punching out my son. Now I don't really want a repeat performance, and I'm sure you don't either.
Ridge: Okay, look, I'm just trying to protect the people I love, and it's getting harder and harder all the time. That's all.
Brooke: Well, maybe it's easier than you think.
Ridge: Well, yeah, you'd say that, because Donna is your sister, and Marcus is her son. Of course you'd say that.
Brooke: Well, it's true. I don't know that much about Marcus. But I do know a hell of a lot about you. And I know that your life is really crazy right now. (Sighs) And I just wish to God that there was something I could do to help.
Ridge: Logan, you already have. You see this ceiling? You see these walls?
Brooke: Mm-hmm.
Ridge: I'd be crawling up 'em right now if it weren't for you. No matter how badly things get, they're always better because you're here.
Brooke: (Sighs) (Laughs)
Steffy: So you want to please my dad, and you're willing to go the extra mile to do it, huh?
Marcus: Well, yeah, but that doesn't mean we have to go back to holding hands.
Steffy: Actually, I don't even think we went to the holding hands stage. (Laughs)
Marcus: Well...
Steffy: You know how much I respect you.
Marcus: I hope it's not too much.
Steffy: (Chuckles) Come here.
Katie: Oh, God, Nick, I don't mean to bring you down, but what are we gonna do?
Nick: I don't know. Believe me, I don't know what any of this means. I don't know what's gonna happen tomorrow, the next day, the next week. It's a mystery to me. But I do know that what's happening right here and now-- and it feels right.
Katie: But tonight you're gonna go home to Bridget. Don't you think that'll be a problem?
Nick: We decided we were gonna take this one step at a time, didn't we?
Katie: I just keep on trying to push you out of my mind. I keep on trying to forget about all the things I love about you-- our prom...
Nick: (Laughs)
Katie: The boat, the island. I know you love Bridget. I know how special she is to you.
Nick: You're right. She is. But that does not change the fact that we're having a baby. Gonna take this one step at a time, didn't we?
Katie: I just keep on trying to push you out of my mind. I keep on trying to forget about all the things I love about you-- our prom...
Nick: (Laughs)
Katie: The boat, the island. I know you love Bridget. I know how special she is to you.
Nick: You're right. She is. But that does not change the fact that we're having a baby.
Ridge: You always manage to bring me out of my moods...
Brooke: (Sighs)
Ridge: No matter how dark they are.
Brooke: So let's get you out of here.
Ridge: And do what?
Brooke: I don't know. Use your imagination.
Ridge: Yeah, I better get out of here before Donna shows up. I'll just get into it about her son. I'm sorry, Logan, but this thing with Marcus and Steffy-- it's gotta be dealt with.
Brooke: (Sighs)
Ridge: I don't trust your sister. I don't trust her kid.
Brooke: Has he shown himself to be untrustworthy?
Ridge: No, not yet. But if he doesn't break it off with Steffy like I told him to, he'll be dealing with me.
Steffy: What are you thinking?
Marcus: That I'm the luckiest guy in the world.
Steffy: I don't think so, mister. I'm the lucky one.
Marcus: Mnh-mnh.
Steffy: Mm-hmm.
Marcus: Not like me. My life has been filled with questions. Who am I? Where I'm headed, where I'm from. And now I have all the answers. I found my mom. I found you.
Steffy: You didn't find me. We were just waiting for each other.
Marcus: I can't imagine feeling this way about any other girl, and I know that your dad wants me to end things, Steffy, but I can't, and I won't. I love you too much.
Steffy: I love you, too, Marcus.
Nick: (Sighs)
Katie: You've pledged your life to Bridget.
Nick: I have.
Katie: And she deserves all of you.
Nick: She deserves to have the best of me, and if I can't give her that--
Katie: You're happy with her. I know. I've seen you together.
Nick: We are.
Katie: (Sighs) This is just so complicated.
Katie: Promise me. Promise me you won't say anything to her, at least not until we know the baby will survive.
Katie: (Sighs)
Destiny does it always have to be this way? Destiny always plays its hand destiny is it real? Is it happening? Is it just a dream? Does it have to be? Destiny is it always the same for me? Destiny destiny
