Katie: (Sighs) Hey.

Beth: Hey, Katie, I'm so glad you're home.

Katie: Oh. Glad to be home. What's going on?

Beth: I have some news. At least, I think I have some news. I don't want you to think I was snooping, because I wasn't. I was just straightening up, and I came across something in the trash. Look at this. Instructions from a pharmacy.

Katie: Huh. Um, uh, "Vitamins to be taken once daily"?

Beth: Not just any vitamins. Prenatal vitamins. Somebody in this house is pregnant.

Taylor: (Sighs) I was afraid he'd wake up with the transition from the car to the crib, but he just stirred a little bit, and he went right back to sleep.

Bridget: Oh, good. You know, thank you so much for bringing him over. I can come pick him up whenever you need me to. (Sighs) So how--how have you been?

Taylor: Oh, I'm fine. Everything's fine. Where's Rick? Uh, do you know where Rick-- Rick went?

Bridget: Oh, um, he left, but he did want me to tell you that he'd like you to meet him at home.

Taylor: Okay.

Bridget: You know, Taylor, there is something else that I really wanted to ask you.

Taylor: What?

Bridget: Um, well, I know that you are jack's mother, and I never want to overstep that, especially when it comes to--to him. But I know that-- I know that you have issues with me. Or you had issues when--

Taylor: Look. Look. Bridget. Bridget. (Sighs) I've been wanting to tell you that I-I feel terrible about the way I behaved with you and the things that I said to you, and I wanted-- I wanted you--you to know that I'm very ashamed of the way I behaved. And I'm sorry that I accused you of things. I'm sorry. A-and I don't feel like you're overstepping anything if you want to talk to me about parenting with jack. It's okay.

Bridget: Thank you. Um, you have no idea how much that means to me.

Taylor: So what? What is it?

Bridget: Oh, right. It's about my Aunt Katie. Would you ever consider making her Jack's godmother?

Steffy: And I can reserve it for the rest of the afternoon?

Woman: It's all yours.

Steffy: Great. Oh, and that romance package you were telling me about-- I'll take it. (Laughs)

Marcus: So it's true.

Owen: Marcus.

Marcus: Look, what the hell are you doing here, man? We told you to leave.

Owen: Well, it's a good thing that I came back. Donna needs me.

Marcus: Look, she doesn't need you, okay? She has me.

Owen: Look, she told me that it means a lot to her to have you here.

Marcus: Okay, man, look. This has gotta stop, all right? My mom is vulnerable right now. She's dealing with a sick husband and a business to run and stepkids who hates her guts. Now the last thing she needs is to be spending time with a loser who takes money for breaking up marriages.

Owen: Ouch.

Marcus: Stay away from her, Owen.

Owen: I can't do that.

Marcus: Look, man, you're wasting your time, okay? Look, why don't you go find some other rich lady to cozy up to. Now for the last time, don't show your face here again, and put whatever sick fantasy you have about my mom out of your mind for good.

Owen: You've got the wrong idea.

Marcus: Hey, you're the one that said you were crazy about her.

Owen: And I am. But I'm also the one who stood up for her against Ridge. Did you hear? Ridge wanted to pull the plug on Eric. So if I was trying to make a play for your mom, why would I be fighting to keep her husband alive?

Rick: Steffy? Hi.

Steffy: Rick? What are you doing here?

Rick: Well, um, I was-- I heard about the new cabanas. I thought I might check 'em out.

Steffy: For you and Mom?

Rick: Yeah, a little bit too much information. I'm sorry. (Laughs)

Steffy: (Chuckles) You know, I-I'm glad you make her happy. It's just that, uh--

Rick: It's just it's a little weird. I understand.

Steffy: Yeah, I'll get used to it... someday.

Rick: So what are you doing here?

Steffy: Oh, um, I'm just, uh, I just had lunch at Bikini Beach. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about, you know?

Rick: Well, this place is pretty cool. I might be on to something here. Might be just what your mom needs right now, you know? Just a little mini getaway?

Steffy: I guess. Not really my thing.

Woman: I see your date has arrived.

Steffy: (Sighs)

Woman: Please let me know if you need anything else.

Steffy: Okay.

Rick: Not really your thing, huh? Then why do I get the feeling that Marcus is on his way as we speak?

Steffy: Okay, fine. You caught me. Okay, look this-- this has never happened to me before. That whole head-over-heels, giggly, tingling feeling.

Rick: Uh-oh.

Steffy: What?

Rick: Kinda sounds like you're in love.

Steffy: Rick.

Rick: No, I'm serious. It's a good thing. Believe me, I-I know these things. I'm not really in a position to give you advice, but--

Steffy: Look, I need someone to talk to, and since you're here, you're nominated.

Rick: You really want to confide in your mother's boyfriend?

Steffy: Right. Right.

Rick: Wait, wait. Steffy, hang on. I-I'm sorry. I didn't really mean it that way. I-- if you want to talk to me about anything, anything at all, especially Marcus, I want you to be able to do that, okay? You can trust me. I'm not gonna tell your mom. Besides, I think that she would appreciate the fact that I'm looking out for you-- making sure you're okay.

Steffy: (Laughs) Rick, I'm more than okay. It's like what you said. I'm in love... with Marcus.

Marcus: Ridge did what?

Owen: Eric is worse. He's on a ventilator, and there was some big Forrester powwow about what to do. Ridge wanted to pull the plug on him, and he talked the family into going along with it. And he was pressuring your mom into signing off on it, so if I hadn't walked in when I did--

Marcus: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait--wait a minute. Wait a minute. So you mean to tell me that the reason why Eric Forrester is alive is because of you?

Owen: If you want to put it that way, but yeah. Look, I don't stand to gain anything here, Marcus. I am just trying to be a friend to your mom, and that's it.

Marcus: Oh, a friend?

Owen: Okay, fine. Yeah, I'm attracted to her. I've got feelings for her. But she is a married woman, and that's it. End of story.

Marcus: Well, I don't buy it.

Owen: Ridge had your mom cornered, pen in her face. She was scared, and she was about to sign off on an order to have the doctors turn off the machine, allowing her husband to die. She's the only one who has got the legal right to make decisions about Eric's health care. And Ridge was trying his damndest to browbeat her into doing something that would haunt her for the rest of her life. And I helped put a stop to that. So if you want to be mad at somebody, don't be mad at me, Marcus. Be mad at Ridge Forrester.

Taylor: You want to know how I feel about Katie being Jack's godmother?

Bridget: Katie loves that boy, and when she was recovering and living with us, he did grow very attached to her.

Taylor: Well, it's not that I-I think it's a bad idea. It's just that I've already asked Ashley Abbott.

Bridget: Ashley?

Taylor: Yeah, it was-- it was a while back, and so-- it was way back, so I really don't even think she thinks the offer's on the table.

Bridget: Oh, well, um... listen, Taylor, just-- please, if there's anything you can do-- Katie's going through a rough time. She needs something positive in her life, and being able to help raise Nick's child would give her a sense of purpose.

Katie: Look, Mom, let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Beth: Oh, I can't wait for Brooke to come home. I wonder how far along she is.

Katie: Mom, whoa. You--you can't say anything to her.

Beth: Well, you think we should pretend we don't know? I don't think I can do that. Oh, I've missed out on so much with you girls. It's just wonderful to think I'll be able to share this with her.

Katie: Mom, stop. It's not Brooke.

Beth: You? You're pregnant.

Marcus: I know you love your father. You're upset about his condition, and you're going through a tough time. But you had no right to do what you did.

Ridge: And who have you been talking to, Marcus?

Marcus: Owen.

Ridge: It seems he didn't give you the whole story. Did he forget to tell you that I realized I was wrong?

Marcus: (Sighs) Oh, man, thank God. I'm so glad, man, that you respected my mother's wishes. She's under incredible stress right now.

Ridge: We all are. And there's no need to add any more stress between our two families. I think you know what I'm talking about.

Marcus: You don't want me seeing your daughter.

Bridget: (Sighs) Look, Taylor, my family has had a difficult year, but no one has suffered more than Katie has. I mean, she worshipped her brother, and losing him just created an emptiness in her, a void that she needs to fill before it's too late. But more than that, I just-- I can feel her, uh, sli-- slipping away from me. I don't know what to do. I think she needs to love again, and being jack's godmother would give her a chance to take care of someone the way that Storm always took care of her.

Taylor: Let's do it. Let's ask Katie to be the godmother.

Katie: You cannot tell anyone, mother. Not Brooke, not Donna, not Bridget. No one. Do you promise?

Beth: Yes, I promise.

Katie: (Sighs)

Beth: Oh, honey. What is it? Please tell me. Maybe I can help.

Beth: Oh, my God. It's Nick's baby, isn't it? You're pregnant with Nick's child. (Sighs)

Katie: Bridget's gonna hate me.

Beth: Yes, I would think so. And Brooke will be furious, and with good reason.

Katie: I know. I know.

Beth: When did this happen?

Katie: (Sighs)

Beth: Does Nick know? Well, you're going to have to tell Bridget eventually.

Katie: Not necessarily. I mean, because of my health, the pregnancy might not last past the first trimester, so why turn her life upside down if we don't have to?

Beth: (Sighs)

Katie: I feel so guilty, Mom, but making love to Nick was amazing. I-I wasn't supposed to live. I was supposed to die.

Beth: But you did live, sweetheart. And I thank God every day that you did. And now... (sighs) you're going to be bringing a new life into the world.

In an endless night seems like I've been here before

Ridge: You're off to a good start here in L.A. You're doing fine at this company. Marcus, do the right thing here. Do the smart thing and end this flirtation with Steffy. I don't have anything against you working here, but Donna Logan's long-lost love child is not gonna be dating my daughter.

(Cell phone rings)

Marcus: Excuse me. Steffy.

Steffy: Where are you? Did you get my text?

Marcus: Yes, I did. Some, um, some issues came up here at work. But I'm gonna meet you there. Bikini Beach, right?

Steffy: Give them my name. They'll tell you where to find me.

Marcus: I'll see you soon.

Ridge: End it with her, Marcus. It'll be best for everyone.

Bridget: Hello! Anyone home?

Beth: Oh, Bridget. Honey, what brings you here?

Bridget: Oh, it's good to see you. I really wanted to talk to Katie. Um, is everything all right? Katie? Oh... oh, honey, jeez. I know that you've been going through a really rough time. You don't have to hide anything from me. Oh, you don't have to pretend everything's okay. (Sighs) You know you can always confide in me.

Katie: I know.

Bridget: Okay, so what's going on?

Katie: Well, it's-- it's like you said. I-I've been going through a difficult time.

Bridget: Well, I-I have an idea, something that I think would be a great opportunity for all of us. Would you be jack's godmother?

Beth: Bridget! Well, I-I'm-- it's a lovely idea. I'm sure Katie is very flattered, but really, shouldn't this be Nick and Taylor's decision?

Bridget: Oh, uh, completely! That's why I've already asked them, and they've both agreed. They think that you would be the most perfect person. You adore jack, and he loves you. You love his father and his stepmother. You are someone that we would want to take care of him if there comes a time where we can't.

Katie: I, um, I-I don't really know what to say.

Bridget: Well, say yes. What could be a greater purpose in life than to nurture and take care of a child?

Katie: None.

Bridget: If you are Jack's godmother, he'll be a part of you. You'll be a part of him. You'll be like a mother to Nick's child.

Katie: No, I can't. I can't. I'm sorry. I can't be Jack's godmother.

Steffy: Finally! Oh, my God.

Marcus: Wow, okay.

Steffy: It's completely private and ours for as long as we want.

Marcus: (Chuckles)

Steffy: Mm.

Marcus: Yeah, no, this is, um, yeah, this is cool.

Steffy: Is something wrong?

Marcus: (Sighs) Do you know how incredible you are? When you smile at me, it's like everything inside me changes. I get this burst like anything's possible because someone so beautiful, someone I want to wrap into my arms and never let go, wants me just as much as I want them.

Steffy: I do, Marcus, so much.

Marcus: But I can't, Steffy. I have to let you go.

Steffy: No. You don't mean that. Right?

Marcus: Your dad-- I just ran into your dad. He flat out said that he's not gonna accept us as long as my mom's around.

Steffy: I don't care. Marcus, we have something real. I feel it. And you do, too. I know you do. Don't go, Marcus. Don't listen to my dad. He doesn't know what I feel for you. But you do. When you kiss me, when you touch me... don't leave, Marcus. Not now.

Marcus: Not ever.
