Donna: Yes, Marcus, I hear you.

Marcus: Okay. So then give him a check and let him be on his way.

Donna: I understand you're concerned.

Marcus: For you, Mom. I'm concerned for you. This guy has no business being in our lives.

Owen: I'm concerned about her, too, Marcus.

Marcus: Right. I forgot, Owen. You care about her. And we're supposed to just believe you after the deal you cut with Felicia, right?

Owen: Look, that was a mistake. I admitted it, and I came clean.

Marcus: (Scoffs)

Donna: He didn't have to do that, Marcus. And since then, Owen has proven himself.

Marcus: The only thing he has proven is that he can talk his way into a job, a massive job, in fact-- being your personal assistant.

Donna: He earned that job.

Marcus: How, Mom? How did he earn the job?

Donna: You already know this. I--he found the power of attorney document. He--he supported me. He's given me good advice.

Marcus: Well, he did all that after he was hired. That's not what got him the job. We all know what got you the job, don't we, Owen? His determination to seduce you. Oh, when that didn't happen, what does he do? He confesses. I mean, what else could he do? He knew that Felicia No, ma, this guy is bad news. You don't need him. Tell him to leave now, please. Mom.

Donna: (Quietly) I will discuss this privately with Owen.

Marcus: Oh, come on, Mom. Don't let him talk you out of this.

Donna: (Sighs) Owen, come with me, please.

Nick: Well, she comes bearing gifts.

Katie: I brought a pie. I didn't make it. Don't worry. My mother did.

Nick: Your mother? How is your mother?

Katie: She's doing really, really well.

Nick: Ahh, it's amazing, isn't it?

Katie: It is amazing. But, you know, she's surrounded by so many people who love her, and I think that really makes a difference.

Nick: Yeah. Well, you would know.

Katie: You're right. I'm kind of the poster child for that, aren't I? So, um, what's the occasion?

Nick: Oh...

Bridget: Do we really need an occasion to spend time with our Aunt Katie?

Katie: Oh! Look who's here. Here, hold that. (Laughs)

Nick: Uh-huh.

Katie: Come here.

Bridget: Say, "Hi, Katie."

Katie: Hello. Oh, my goodness. Oh, I missed you so, so much. I can't even tell you how much I've missed you. You know what? I think I've got some toys in my purse. Don't tell anyone. You want to look? You want to look and see? Let's see what I got. What have I got? I have so much-- I could fit an airplane in here.

Brooke: Marcus? Is Donna around?

Marcus: No, she-- she took off with Owen.

Brooke: I needed to talk to her about something. But I guess I could just call her.

Marcus: Um, Brooke? You, um, you have a minute?

Brooke: Of course.

Marcus: If I tell you something, um, can we keep that between you and me? I wouldn't want Ridge to use it against my mom.

Brooke: You can confide in me.

Marcus: Well, it's just that I don't-- I don't like the things my mom's been doing lately. I mean, firing the Forresters? Now Felicia I understand, but not Ridge and Thorne.

Brooke: Yeah, I know. I don't like it either. I don't understand why Donna is making these decisions and saying the things that she's saying.

Marcus: Well, that's just it. Maybe she's not the one who's really been saying them.

Brooke: Who are you talking about?

Marcus: Owen. I don't trust the guy, especially now.

Brooke: Why?

Marcus: He says he's crazy about my mother.

Owen: May I say something?

Donna: Please, by all means.

Owen: It's pretty obvious that your son doesn't trust me.

Donna: Look, he's just so protective of me, wh--which is wonderful, considering what a short time we've known each other.

Owen: It is wonderful. But just so you know, Donna, you don't owe me anything.

Donna: It's very kind of you to say--

Owen: No, it's true. I mean it. And if you want me to go, then I will go. But I still mean what I said. I'm crazy about you.

Katie: Oh, you have no idea how much your Aunt Katie has missed you.

Bridget: Oh, yes, he does. He misses you a lot.

Katie: You do? You miss me just a little bit?

Nick: He does. He told me that just the other day.

Katie: You know, your dad lies like a rug. Don't take after him.

Bridget: Oh, it's a little too late for that.

Katie: (Laughs)

Bridget: He's already taken after his daddy. He's so smooth with the ladies.

Nick: Come on, buddy.

Katie: I noticed that.

Nick: Time for bed.

Katie: Oh, time for bed. Here we go.

Nick: Here, I'll take him. There we go. Can I have that magical toy that keeps him quiet?

Katie: Yes, there's the magic toy.

Nick: There you go.

Katie: Maybe we'll do something fun this weekend like go to the zoo.

Bridget: Oh, he would love that.

Nick: Say good night to the girls. Good night. Good night, girls

Katie: Bye. Good night.

Bridget: Good night.

Nick: Goodnight, girls.

Katie: He's such a great kid.

Bridget: He's the only thing that keeps me grounded these days.

Katie: How's your dad doing?

Bridget: There was no change tonight.

Katie: Well, I'm sure you're doing everything you can.

Bridget: Yeah, it's just so frustrating because it's not enough.

Katie: Maybe he just needs a little more time.

Bridget: Maybe, but that's something that we don't have. You know, the more time he spends in a coma, the less likely it will be that he...

Katie: Well, you can't give up hope.

Bridget: I know. I'm not going to, but it is just-- it's so scary. I mean, I'm holding on to every single minute, every hour. That time that passes, it just diminishes the hope that he's gonna be able to come out of the coma, and time is the enemy. We need results right now.

Katie: Bridget, you cannot take this all on yourself. You're not alone in this.

Bridget: I know, but that's how I feel. And I just feel so helpless.

Katie: You've got Thorne and Felicia and Donna and-- and most importantly, you have Nick. And you have me, too.

Bridget: Thanks.

Katie: Don't thank me. Lean on me. You don't have to be the strong one. I'm here for you.

Brooke: You're saying that Owen has feelings for Donna?

Marcus: So he claims. Brooke, the guy shouldn't even be here after the deal he cut with Felicia.

Brooke: No, I know. (Sighs) That bothers me, too. I don't even know what Owen's story is. I don't know anything about him. Did you invite him here to L.A.?

Marcus: No. No, supposedly he came here to collect his fee from tracking down my mom. Next thing you know, I see him at Nick's and Bridget's party, uninvited. Then he shows up with a gift for Eric, some designer special bottle of Gin. I mean, the guy doesn't know diddly-squat about Eric Forrester, but he has time to figure out that he likes Gin Martinis? What does that tell you?

Brooke: That he has an agenda.

Marcus: Exactly.

Brooke: But the question what is that agenda?

Marcus: I don't know. But he sure is leaving us some clues-- worming his way into my mom's life, becoming her personal assistant. Now all of a sudden, he's claiming that he has "feelings" for her? She's a married lady.

Brooke: I know it's nice of you to be concerned, Marcus, but nobody's gonna take advantage of Donna. She showed us that today.

Marcus: Yeah, maybe so. There's something that you don't know. Someone broke into my mom's house, rifled through her bedroom.

Brooke: What?

Marcus: I think it may have been Owen.

Owen: Hey, I don't mean to make you feel uncomfortable.

Donna: Look, I'm not. But I can see why Marcus is concerned.

Owen: Me, too. You haven't known me very long. I could very well be that person that's he's describing.

Donna: But you aren't?

Owen: (Chuckles) No, I'm not. But I will tell you that when I first came here to Forrester, I was--I was dazzled, yes, by everything.

Donna: Yeah, it is a bit overwhelming-- the wealth and lifestyle, the people. I felt the same way at first.

Owen: But mostly, I was blown away by you.

Donna: Me?

Owen: You were nothing like the person that Felicia made you out to be. And that's what changed everything for me. You were sweet and kind.

Donna: You were expecting a home-wrecking witch?

Owen: (Laughs) Well, that is the picture that she painted.

Donna: (Sighs)

Owen: But now I look at you, and I see your loyalty. I see your strength in the face of so many adversities. And I feel this need to-- to want to help you through it.

Donna: Why?

Owen: Because you deserve it. You are a beautiful, honest, sincere person, and it's a shame that you have to fight this family when your only crime is that you love their father so deeply. You have earned everything that you've got, and I want to help you keep it. Donna, I'm here for you for whatever you need.

Marcus: You know, something doesn't add up. Okay, Owen goes to my mom's, claims someone broke in, says he cleans the house up, but didn't bother to call the police.

Brooke: You're saying that Owen staged a break-in? Is he capable of that?

Marcus: He's capable of getting what he wants, Brooke.

Brooke: And what does he want with Donna? Really?

Marcus: That's the million-dollar question.

Donna: You have been so protective of me.

Owen: That's my job-- to have your back.

Donna: Well, I certainly could use that nowadays.

Owen: I just wish Marcus would trust me, or at least give me the benefit of the doubt here.

Donna: You know, I think he's just jealous because wants to protect me.

Owen: Donna, you are being attacked from all angles. You need all the protection that you can get.

Donna: Still, perception is everything.

Owen: Perception?

Donna: Well, now that what happened with you and Felicia is public knowledge, people have to question me.

Owen: Question what?

Donna: Why I haven't fired you. The fashion industry is just so full of gossip.

Owen: (Laughs) Donna, we haven't done anything wrong. And I would never put you in a position--

Donna: No, I know. I know. It's just-- (sighs) normally, I wouldn't care what people say behind my back, but with Eric in the hospital unconscious, I have to be concerned about his image. I have to be concerned about what people are saying, because he can't defend himself. You understand my husband has to come first.

Owen: Yes, definitely.

Donna: So maybe Marcus is right. Maybe it's best if I let you go.

Nick: Beautiful. Beautiful dinner. Beautiful dessert. Beautiful company.

Katie: And I see you're using your wedding china.

Bridget: Mm. It's actually our first time.

Katie: Oh, I'm honored.

Bridget: Well, I figured, what's more appropriate than using our wedding china with the person that married us?

Katie: (Chuckles) Well, that was a special day.

Nick: Special's a good word.

Bridget: (Giggles)

Katie: It's great to see how happy you two are. Seems like you've been married forever.

Bridget: Well, it is all because of you.

Katie: Me?

Bridget: Yeah. I mean, we became so much closer when we were saving your life.

Katie: Oh, well, I guess saving people's lives will do that to you. (Laughs)

Bridget: Oh, actually, that reminds me. I have something for you.

Katie: What is this?

Nick: Christmas in July.

Katie: Wow, presents. I love presents. Oh, wow. Thank you so much! I love it! (Sighs)

Nick: Oh, can I see that? Oh, I look good. You have a copy for me, or just her?

Katie: (Laughs)

Bridget: Actually, you know what? I do. I have a wallet-sized one just for you.

Katie: (Laughs) Wow. That was, um, that was quite a night.

Nick: Yes.

Katie: Thank you, Bridget. I will always treasure this.

Bridget: Oh, you're very welcome.

Katie: Thank you both so much. This is exactly what I needed.

Nick: Well, we'll do it again real soon.

Katie: Next time, I'll cook. I've been practicing.

Bridget: Or we could always take "The Marlin" out. That would be fun.

Katie: Oh, she's scared of my cooking.

Bridget: No, I just think we could do something fun, like go to Catalina, like you guys did. Pack a picnic and-- all four of us, Jack included.

Nick: We can do that.

Bridget: Mm-hmm.

Katie: Or we could go someplace new. You know, there are a lot of other islands to explore.

Nick: We can do that.

Bridget: Whatever. I don't care what we do. I'm just holding you to it-- both of you.

Nick: You're the one with the scheduling problem, doctor.

Bridget: Oh, I manage to schedule you in just fine, don't I?

Katie: Okay, well, I'm gonna go. Um, thank you both so much. Good to see you. And, um, I do want to say-- I know I've said this a thousand times, but I just love seeing how happy you are together. And I appreciate everything you've done for me. You--you put my feelings above your own, and, Bridget, I just want you to know that I admire you so much. You're my angel, and I find you very inspiring. You're everything I aspire to be.

Bridget: Oh, gosh, Katie, thank you. Mm, sweetie.

Brooke: Marcus, your mother loves Eric deeply. She's always gonna do what she feels is best for him. You can count on that.

Marcus: She's not thinking clearly, Brooke, and Owen is taking vantage of her, saying all this crap about his feelings. I just hope my mom doesn't buy it-- tells him to leave and never come back.

Donna: Owen, I am so sorry, but it's the only thing I can do, given how my son feels. We have your contact information in San Diego, right?

Owen: Yes. Personnel has it

Donna: Well, then I'll send you your final check and some severance pay.

Owen: Come on, Donna, you don't have to do that, all right? I haven't been here long enough for severance pay.

Donna: Believe me, you deserve it.

Owen: I just wanted to do so much more for you.

Donna: You've done plenty.

Owen: Well, if you want me to go, then I'll go, but I'm not gonna lie to you. It has been a thrill helping you protect Eric's legacy and his fortune and being able to work so close to such a stunningly beautiful woman. It's been the ride of my life. Something powerful has happened to me, and I think it's probably best that I do go instead of getting any deeper. So if you say it's over, then it's over. And if this is farewell and this is truly what you want, then I'll accept it. All I want is for you to be happy.

Donna: Well, you brought me back my son.

Owen: Yeah. The last thing I'd want to do is come between the two of you. So I'm gonna grab my things and, um, I'm gonna go.

Donna: (Sighs) Owen? Owen, I'm so sorry.

Owen: Don't be. It's been a trip getting to know you and taking care of all your needs. Well, most of them, anyway. I just want you to know, I never meant to hurt you or cause you any trouble. A lot of things have happened this summer that I didn't expect. I adore you.

Owen: Good-bye.
