Bridget: Good morning, Donna.

Donna: Bridget, hi. Hi, how-- how is he? Did he have a good night?

Bridget: He's doing as well as to be expected.

Donna: Yeah, I could hardly sleep thinking about him.

Bridget: Is that the only reason you had trouble sleeping? Rick told me what happened yesterday at Forrester-- that you fired Ridge and Thorne and Felicia. And, Donna, don't you think that's a little drastic?

Donna: I did what I thought was best for your father's company.

Bridget: (Sighs)

Donna: (Sighs) Bridget, what I-- I-I need right now is a little hope. I mean, is-- is he any better?

Bridget: He's stable. That's the best I can give you right now.

Donna: Well, I just have to believe that he's gonna-- he's gonna wake up soon, and we can all work on getting him well.

Bridget: Well, hold on to those good thoughts.

Donna: (Sighs) Oh, I miss you so desperately, Eric. Those--those things you said about-- about me getting on with my life if anything happened to you-- it's not gonna be like that, okay? Because you are gonna come back to me. I know you are, because nobody could ever take your place.

Pam: My, my, my. Aren't we the crackerjack assistant?

Owen: It's Donna's first day as C.E., and I just want to make sure everything's perfect.

Pam: Eric may be in a coma, but he is still C.E.O. Of this company.

Owen: Well, since she has power of attorney, that makes her in control of the company.

Pam: I know. I know. She's the big cheese now, and all us little cheeses better watch our step.

Owen: I know you don't understand, Pam, but Donna had a legitimate cause for taking over the way she did. And if you're smart, I'd cooperate with her.

Pam: Or else...

Brooke: (Sighs) I wonder why the alarm clock didn't go off.

Ridge: I un-set it, now that I'm a man of leisure.

Brooke: (Scoffs) Not by choice.

Ridge: Well, you know, hopeless optimistic.

Brooke: Mm-hmm.

Ridge: I figured I could sit around here and stew about things, or...

Brooke: Or look for the silver lining?

Ridge: I've actually already found a few.

Brooke: Oh, yeah?

Ridge: Mm.

Brooke: Like no more blaring alarm clock in your face at 5:30 in the morning?

Ridge: That would be one.

Brooke: (Giggles) No more racing me to the bathroom to beat me to the hot shower?

Ridge: I thought we could take a shower together. Save water during this drought situation.

Brooke: Mm. True.

Ridge: You know what the biggest perk of all is?

Brooke: Hmm?

Ridge: Being able to spend more time with you and the kids.

Brooke: And you know what? The kids are sleeping.

Ridge: But we're not.

Brooke: Mm, that's right.

Owen: Oh, I wanted to be here to welcome you.

Donna: Well, it looks like you already did. Thank you, Owen. It's a--it's a good start. I just wish that I--

Owen: Oh, come on, please. Don't tell me that you're having second thoughts again.

Donna: Look, Eric didn't want to transfer ownership, but did I go too far by firing Ridge? I mean, maybe-- maybe if I hadn't been so upset with Felicia, we would have been able to work something out.

Owen: You've got a huge heart, Donna. It's only natural for you to want to give Eric's son the benefit of the doubt. But what has he ever done for you? What have any of the Forresters ever done for you? Seems to me their M.O. is intimidation tactics.

Donna: Yeah, like letting themselves into my home and going through my things. Yeah, I'd still like to know who that was. Felicia, Ridge-- maybe a private investigator.

Owen: Come on, does it matter? Eric's kids tried to seize his company, and you prevented that from happening. Now you just need to hang tough until he gets back. And, uh, whenever he gets out of his coma, he's gonna be grateful to you.

Donna: How do you always know the right thing to say to me? I wouldn't have been able to do any of this without you, Owen.

Owen: You don't have to. Now come on. Show me that beautiful smile. Eric will want you smiling.

Donna: (Laughs)

Brooke: You're-- you're dressed already? I better hurry.

Ridge: As much as I'd love your company at the hospital, I think it would be better if you went to the office instead.

Brooke: We never did discuss how you'd feel about that-- me working there when Donna's in charge.

Ridge: You think I'd feel it was disloyal?

Brooke: Would you?

Ridge: Logan, you could run that shop on your own if you had to. And under the circumstances, you might need to-- give us something to salvage out of the place.

Brooke: I was just hoping now that Donna had some time to think, she would realize that firing Eric's children is not something he would condone.

Ridge: For the record, I don't hate your sister. I don't agree with what she's doing, but I kind of admire her tenacity in protecting Dad. And I also understand why she'd be angry. What Felicia did was really idiotic.

Brooke: (Scoffs) She thinks what Felicia did was inexcusable.

Ridge: I understand. But to fire me when all I'm trying to do is protect my family, my mother and my father, the legacy they built together-- well, unfortunately, it's all out of my hands now.

Brooke: I'll do whatever I can.

Ridge: If anyone can get through to your sister, it's you. Do you have any idea how grateful I am having you around trying to keep me sane?

Brooke: (Laughs)

Owen: So I put the buyers off till the end of the week. They are gonna have some tough questions for you, so we're gonna need to think about your answers, but, uh, you've still got your appointments at 10:00 and 11:00 today.

Donna: With whom?

Owen: Headhunters. We need new design talent. The holiday line's 80% finished.

Donna: Okay. Okay. Owen, stop. Stop. My head is spinning.

Owen: You're doing great. Just one foot in front of the other.

Donna: Yeah, on a high wire or over a shark tank?

Owen: Rule number one, my dear-- breathe.

Donna: (Breathes deeply) Good advice. (Laughs)

Owen: (Laughs)

Marcus: Hey, Mom.

Donna: Oh, honey, come here. Oh, do I need a hug today. Oh, I'm so glad you're here.

Marcus: Yeah, well, uh, I, uh, stopped by earlier to see you, but the gate was locked.

Owen: Yeah, I had the alarm company change the code.

Marcus: You did? Why?

Donna: Someone sort of got into the house last night.

Marcus: You had a break-in?

Donna: Sort of. Sort of. My things were scattered, and-- and one of my wedding photos was broken.

Owen: Whoever it was that got in, they used the old code.

Marcus: Right. Well, still, Mom, that could've been dangerous. I mean, you could've walked in on someone trying to rob you.

Donna: Well, Owen's the one who found it like that.

Marcus: Oh. So what'd the police say?

Donna: Well, nothing was stolen, Marcus.

Marcus: So no one called?

Owen: We didn't even get around to it.

Donna: Look, I know it was one of the Forresters just trying to rattle me. I mean, who else would it be? Thank you for being concerned, okay? (Chuckles) all right, well, I have some time before my 10:00 to go to the sky lounge, right?

Owen: You want me to get you a cup of coffee?

Donna: Yeah. Yeah. I-I just want to talk to some of the employees. I just think that they need a little reassurance.

Owen: Go for it.

Donna: Great. Catch you later.

Marcus: So you found someone had trashed the hoe, but you didn't report it. Why is that, Owen?

Marcus: Are you insinuating something, Marcus?

Marcus: Oh, what? That you're manipulating my mom? Not that big of a stretch, now is it? Considering the shady deal you made with Felicia. Kind of raises a lot of questions about how straight up you really are, huh? Mmmm... what are you eating?

(machines beeping)

Ridge: How's he doing?

Bridget: There's still no change.

Ridge: You heard the news?

Bridget: I'm just stunned. I don't know what to say. I mean, should Felicia have pulled what she pulled? No. That's completely underhanded. But should Donna punish all three of you? No, it's completely wrong and unfair. I can't even begin to understand it.

Ridge: Donna feels like she's protecting Dad's best interest somehow.

Bridget: That makes no sense. Dad would never want you out of the company. That's the last thing he would ever want.

Man: So, yeah, I have no idea what to do about it.

Woman: Me neither. (Employees speaking indistinctly)

Donna: Pammy.

Man: We'll have to do our job double-time--

Woman: Oh, hi!

Donna: Hi.

Woman: Hi, Mrs. Forrester.

Donna: Good morning, everyone. So how's it going today?

Man: Well, to be honest with you, my department's in shock. We--we report directly to Ridge.

Donna: Look, I know it did seem sudden, Davis. Just know that this is a temporary reorganization until Eric can be back with us.

Woman: Well, is-- is he doing any better?

Donna: Madison, um, I wish I could say yes. But in the meantime, I hope that we can pull together and do some great things. My door is always open. Please don't hesitate to come in, okay? Everyone good? (Sighs) all right. Let's--let's rock 'n' roll.

Davis: Okay.

Madison: Uh, well, you know what? I have a huge stack of messages on my desk...

Donna: Oh, of course. Yeah.

Madison: Which I've really--

Donna: Don't let me keep you.

Madison: Okay.

Donna: Have a great day.

Brooke: So how's it been going? Or do I even need to ask?

Donna: (Sighs)

Owen: I'm not proud of the deal that I made with Felicia. It was stupid, and it was wrong, and I wish I could take it back.

Marcus: Oh, yeah, well, I could've told you that.

Owen: Donna is an incredible woman, and she's given me an amazing opportunity.

Marcus: Oh, so that's what you're all about--opportunity. You don't think I see right through you, Owen? Hmm? The minute you showed up here, man, sniffing around, I got this bad feeling. And now you're hanging around my mother, and I don't like it.

Owen: You wouldn't even know that she was your mother if it wasn't for my help.

Marcus: Oh.

Owen: I don't want to argue with you about this. I like you. And I like your mom. To tell you the truth, I'm crazy about her. That's right, dude. I'm freakin' nuts about your mom.

Donna: I'm trying to help people adjust to the changes. I-I just don't know if it's working.

Brooke: Donna, put yourself in their place. The whole backbone of this company was gone overnight. I mean, you can't blame them for being concerned.

Donna: I'm doing what I think is best for Eric.

Brooke: I realize how you feel.

Donna: Now I-I just have to move forward.

Brooke: I wish you all the luck, sis.

Donna: Oh, no, Brooke. No, you-- you cannot abandon me. I cannot do this without you.

Brooke: No. No, I'm not abandoning you. I'm just telling you it's not going to be easy.

Donna: We can do this. I know we can. Working together, we can help protect Eric's company for him. Just until... till he's able to come back and decide for himself how to handle things.

Ridge: So that's how it all went down. I feel kind of sick about it. I just don't know how to make Donna understand. (Sighs) if there's one thing I am sure about, it's how much I love you and this family. We need you, Dad. We need you to come back to us here and help us sort this out. The main thing is we don't want to lose you. You've got to fight. You've got way too much life ahead of you to give up now. So please, Dad, please don't give up.

Marcus: I knew it. You're playing her.

Owen: Unh-unh. This is for real, Marcus.

Marcus: Oh, come on, man, that's wack. Here it is, my mom is grieving, man, and she's vulnerable, and you're taking advantage of her. Oh, yeah, you're working it real good so you can get the inside track on the lifestyle of the rich and famous.

Donna: Is there a problem?

Marcus: Mom-- Mom, you need to stay away from this guy, okay? Now if you need help, you come to me, your son. Lean on me.

Donna: Is this about the break-in?

Owen: You have got no reason to be worried about your mother.

Marcus: Oh. You know what he just told me? Go on, Owen. Tell her, man. Tell her yourself.

Owen: Okay, I will. Your son doesn't believe me, but it's the truth. I'm nuts about you, Donna.

(Machines beeping)

Brooke: When is he going to come out of this? Isn't there anything else that you can do?

Bridget: Mom, I have-- I have consulted extensively with Dr. Patrick and every other expert I can possibly think of in the U.S. And overseas. Other than that, I'm--

Ridge: We know you're doing everything you can.

Brooke: You are a wonderful doctor, sweetheart, and having you on Eric's case-- it gives me a lot of comfort. But this can't be very easy for you. He is your father.

Bridget: I wish I had answers. All I can offer right now are prayers.

Marcus: Look, my mom is a married woman-- Mrs. Eric Forrester. She shouldn't have anything to do with you.

Owen: Donna, can we talk about this alone?

Donna: Marcus, do you--

Marcus: No, Mom, I'm sorry. Unh-unh. Not happening.

Owen: Fine.

Owen: Look, I never thought or wanted this to happen. I came to L.A. curious about this family, yeah, amazed that I actually connected Marcus, this guy who came to me out of the blue, with the famous Forrester family of the fashion world. And I wanted to see it firsthand. And, yeah, L.A. Is beautiful-- the lifestyle, the estate. But it all pales in comparison to you, Donna. You're something-- something special. You're every guy's dream. And I felt like I was living it. I was the luckiest man in the world. And to tell you the truth, I don't want to be let go.

Marcus: (Applauds) Aww. That's real touching, Owen. Look, Mom, this is what you're gonna do. You're gonna write Owen a big check thanking him for his help. Then I'm gonna personally escort him in his car, make sure he drives back to San Diego so he won't cause you any more trouble. Are we clear on that? Go get your stuff. Get in your car, and get out of here now.

Owen: If I leave here, it's your mom's decision and only hers.

Marcus: Mom, tell him. Tell him you want him gone.
