Ridge: You know what we need?

Brooke: Hmm?

Ridge: Some champagne.

Brooke: Well, we do have an awful lot to celebrate.

Ridge: As soon as Dad signs those papers, it'll be a whole different ball game for you and me.

Brooke: (Chuckles)

Rick: Knock-knock. (Groans) is, uh, Dad back from New York?

Brooke: (Sighs)

Ridge: He's back. He's been in, and he's already gone home for the day.

Rick: Okay.

Brooke: Oh, honey? Since you're here, there's something that Ridge and I should tell you. We are moving ahead with our wedding. We're going to be married again very soon.

Rick: Congratulations.

Brooke: (Chuckles)

Ridge: Like you mean it.

Rick: If you're happy, then--then I'm happy.

Brooke: We are. We're very happy. I'm glad that you're okay with this.

Rick: Well, Mom, my new philosophy is that no one should stand in the way of true love.

Brooke: Uh, since Eric isn't here, is there something that we could help you with?

Rick: Well, I just-- I needed him to, um, sign off on some proposals. But, you know--

Ridge: Just leave it. We'll look at it tomorrow.

Rick: You mean-- you mean Dad will look at it tomorrow?

Ridge: Your mother and I will. Dad's stepping down. Brooke and I are taking over Forrester Creations.

Rick: Excuse me?

Ridge: My father has agreed to pass the company to us as a gift.

Rick: Our father, and not that I believe a word of what you're saying right now.

Ridge: Have a look.

Rick: It's not even signed.

Ridge: It will be.

Brooke: Eric gave Ridge his word.

Ridge: Don't worry, Rick. You'll be taken care of.

Rick: Taken care of? Like--like I'm some child? Why didn't I have a say in all of this?

Ridge: Work that out with your mother.

Rick: I run Forrester International, Ridge. I'm not some peon at this company.

Brooke: And you will continue to play an important role here. But you will report to us, not to Eric.

Ridge: As far as the financial situation, everyone will get their share in a fair manner.

Rick: So who's gonna divvy that up? You, Ridge?

Ridge: Your mother, Thorne, Felicia, me. We'll work out the details, along with the rest of the family, Rick. You'll get your share.

Rick: The rest of the family? Like, you're talking about Thomas and Steffy? Phoebe? R.J.?

Ridge: Dad started this company with my mother. Together, their children will get the larger stake.

Rick: Where does that leave Donna?

Brooke: She'll be spending time with Eric.

Rick: Doing what?

Ridge: Whatever she wants. It's a win-win situation.

Man: What happened?

Donna: We'd-- we'd just made love. Everything seemed fine, and--and-- and then he went unconscious.

Man: Was he complaining about anything? Pain? Nausea? Did he seem out of breath?

Donna: No, no, no. He didn't say a word. He--he doesn't complain.

Man: Your husband allergic to any medication?

Donna: No.

Man: Is he on any medication?

Donna: Uh, um, cholesterol, blood pressure.

Man: Anything else?

Donna: Uh...

Man: Ma'am, we need to know about anything he might have taken-- prescription, over-the-counter, off the street. I don't care. If he's going to be treated, we need some information. Some drugs can have dangerous interactions--

Donna: Pills, okay? Pills. He, uh-- to help our sex life, okay?

Man: University rescue 42 on scene. Unconscious, unresponsive male. Possible secondary cardiac event. B.P. 90 over 60. Pulse 119.

Donna: It's a heart attack?

Man: We'll get an EKG on the way in.

Donna: I'm coming with you.

Man: ...EKG en route to confirm. E.T.A. 17 minutes.

Donna: God, I won't leave you. I promise. You mean everything to me. You have to be okay. (Indistinct radio chatter) (telephones ringing)

Man: Hey, Doc? Doc, this is our unconscious, unresponsive male. B.P.'s still dropping. His pulse dropped when we were en route. We couldn't give him dopamine in time.

Bridget: Donna?

Donna: Bridget! My God, help him, please!

Bridget: Oh! Oh, my God. Oh, my God.

Man: Wife said he went unconscious after sex.

Bridget: What?

Man: Irregular heart rate with hypotensive. We put him on oxygen and did an EKG in transit.

Bridget: How was that?

Man: Pretty classic. Recent E.D. meds.

Bridget: I know the patient. We can pull his history. Initiate a cardiac alert. I want a full-body workup. Get him on thrombolytics stat, and have the cath lab standing by.

Donna: Bridget.

Bridget: Come on.

Donna: Bridget!

Bridget: We're gonna do everything we can, Donna.

Rick: Ridge, how you ever talked Dad into giving away his company, I will never know.

Ridge: It's because he understands that's the only way to undo the damage that's been done.

Rick: By Donna, of course, single-handedly. We all know she's your favorite scapegoat.

Brooke: Change is never easy. But sometimes it needs to happen. Ridge and I are going to be facing some big challenges, and we are hoping that we could count on your support. (Cell phone rings)

Brooke: Hello?

Donna: Brooke! Oh, my God, thank God you answered.

Brooke: Donna, what is it? Is it Katie?

Donna: No. No, it's Eric. Uh, I don't know. Something's happened. I-I think he had a heart attack.

Brooke: What? Where are you?

Donna: University Hospital. We--we just came in the ambulance. Brooke--Brooke, I'm so scared.

Brooke: Okay, just stay calm. Ridge and I will make some phone calls.

Ridge: What's going on?

Brooke: We'll be there right away. It's your father.

Ridge: What?

Brooke: He's in the hospital. We better go.

Donna: Excuse me. I'm sorry. Ha--have you heard anything? Is my husband gonna be okay?

Man: This is a great hospital, ma'am. He's in very good hands.

Marcus: You know, I could have saved you the trip.

Steffy: Oh, yeah?

Marcus: I had this package to drop off anyway.

Steffy: Next time, I'll read your mind in advance.

Marcus: (Chuckles) I heard your granddad's back from New York. Any idea how it went?

Steffy: Well I hope. I know he was nervous. It was a really important trip.

Marcus: Well, too bad he's not around so we can ask, right?

Steffy: Yeah. I'm guessing he went home to be with Donna.

Marcus: Hmm. Hey, um, so what do you think about her hiring Owen?

Steffy: Well, I know her and Aunt Pam don't exactly get along.

Marcus: Okay, right, but I mean, Owen-- I mean, she just met the guy.

Steffy: You're wondering what I think of Owen or what I think of Donna hiring him?

Marcus: Both.

Steffy: Owen's smooth. I'll give him that.

Marcus: Smooth? So is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Steffy: Yeah, guys like that aren't my type.

Marcus: Really?

Steffy: Mm.

Marcus: So, um, what's your type?

Steffy: Honest, straightforward, what you see is what you get. That's what turns me on.

Marcus: Well, you know, I couldn't have said it better myself. Score 1 for me than. Cha-ching.

Steffy: (Laughs) As far as hiring assistants you just met, that's usually how it works. When you interview someone and then just give them the job, I mean, how well can you really know them? Everyone puts their best foot forward.

Marcus: I guess.

Steffy: What's bothering you?

Marcus: Well, I guess I really don't know Owen that well myself. Just want Donna to be careful, you know? Seems like she's always surrounded by enemies.

Steffy: Hmm. Including my father.

Woman: Dr. Kravitz, you have a visitor in the main lobby.

Dr. Kravitz. (Elevator dings)

Brooke: Oh, Donna!

Donna: Oh, sis, thank God! Thank God you're here!

Ridge: Brooke said it was his heart.

Donna: I-I don't know. I mean, it seemed that way, but nobody's come out to talk to me.

Brooke: Does Bridget know?

Donna: She's in there.

Rick: You know what? I'll go see what I can find out, okay?

Ridge: Was Dad having chest pains?

Donna: Well, if he was, he--he--he didn't say anything. I mean, one minute he was fine, and the next, I-I couldn't wake him. He--he was pale, and he was-- he was clammy and--

Brooke: Honey, whatever it is, Eric will pull through this. You did the right thing by getting him here so quickly.

Donna: Now we just have to start praying... really hard.

Woman: Dr. Valentino to the O.R., please.

Brooke: Rick's trying to find answers.

Felicia: Donna, are you sure our dad had a heart attack?

Donna: I-I keep telling you, I don't know.

Brooke: Look, she just went off with the paramedics.

Donna: Bridget said it was a cardiac something when we first arrived.

Felicia: All right, well, has anyone called Mother?

Ridge: I left her a message.

Thorne: Well, Donna, can you tell us, what was he doing? I mean, how did it happen?

Donna: We--we were in bed. We--we'd just made love, and--

Felicia: Oh, stop, please.

Woman: Paging Dr. Becker.

Brooke: Bridget!

Bridget: It, um, it's definitely a heart attack.

Thorne: Oh, my God.

Donna: Is he gonna be okay?

Bridget: Well, we're still running tests. He's stable, but it-- it's very-- it's very serious.

Donna: I need to see him.

Bridget: Um, he's--he's still unconscious--

Donna: Bridget. Bridget, stop. I-I promise you I am not gonna get in the way. I just-- I need my husband to know I'm here.

Marcus: You know, I don't think you and I should talk about Ridge.

Steffy: If you don't have anything nice to say--

Marcus: I'm just saying, Steffy, let's focus on other things right now.

Steffy: Hmm. What about your father, Marcus? Have you asked Donna anything more about him?

Marcus: It hasn't felt right yet.

Steffy: Do you ever wonder about him?

Marcus: Well, yeah, of course I have. I mean, who wouldn't? Don't worry. I'll bring it up one of these days when I think Donna's ready to talk about it. For now, though, I'm just happy that I found my mother and she has such a great man in her life. You see, people can give Donna a hard time, but I know that Eric will always be there to stick up for her. (Machines beeping)

Donna: Sweetheart? I'm here. It's Donna. I'm right here holding your hand. You're--you're in the hospital. But don't be afraid. Bridget's here, and-- and all the doctor's are-- are gonna take such good care of you. Everything's gonna be okay. It has to be. God, we have so many plans, so many-- so many dreams, so many things we want to do together. Don't go. Please don't. (Crying) don't leave me. (Sobbing)

Donna: When I-- when I first met you, I had no idea what love really was. And you--you taught me. And every day we're together, you-- you show me what it is all over again. No matter what, you're always there for me, even-- even when your children won't accept us.

Donna: Well, now I'm-- I'm gonna support you. I am going to take such good care of you. You're everything to me. And I'm gonna have you back. And everything is gonna-- gonna be wonderful, just the way it was. So I'm at my doctor's, again.

Marcus: You know what just hit me?

Steffy: Hmm?

Marcus: Since the boss isn't around, maybe we should just--

Steffy: Oh, you want to call it a night, too?

Marcus: You ready for our second date? Bikini Beach?

Steffy: Sure. I love that place. Let's go.

Marcus: Cool. Let me just write Eric a note, okay, saying "Welcome back."

Steffy: Marcus, what is it?

Marcus: You, uh-- hey, Eric didn't by any chance tell you that he was giving up Forrester Creations to your dad and Brooke, did he?

Steffy: Giving it to them? You mean like a gift?

Marcus: Yeah.

Steffy: No way. Are you serious? It actually says that?

Marcus: Yeah, my mother's name's not even mentioned once. What the hell is going on?

Steffy: I know how much my dad wants to run the company, but how did this happen?

Marcus: I don't know.

Man: You're still here? I guess you haven't heard.

Steffy: Oh, hey, Ben. Heard what?

Ben: Steffy, your grandfather's in the hospital. I'm afraid he had a heart attack.

Thorne: Hey, Dad. I don't want you to worry about anything, okay? Work is covered. Everything's gonna be fine. I want you to focus on getting better. That's what counts. (Machines beeping)

Rick: (Clears throat) It's a hell of a way to get all your kids in the same room, Dad. You know, you could have just called. (Chuckles) Bridget's out getting your test results. But she's here for you. We all are, every step of the way, giving you our strength. It's our turn. It's time that you lean on us for a change. (Sighs)

Felicia: (Sniffles) (sobs) Daddy, I love you. I would give anything if it were me lying there instead of you. Open your eyes. I just want you to open your eyes. I wouldn't be so scared. (Sobs) I can't lose you. (Sniffles) I need my daddy. Just don't even you-- you think about checking out on us. I love you. (Sobs)

Ridge: You're a fighter, Dad. We all know it. So you fight. Do not give up. You hear me?

Rick: What's the word, Bridge?

Thorne: Did you get the tests back?

Felicia: (Sobbing) When is he gonna come out of this, Bridget?

Bridget: Well, I did get some news, but it's-- it's not really good.

Felicia: (Sobbing)

Ridge: What are we looking at here?

Donna: Shouldn't he be awake by now?

Bridget: During the cardiac event, the blood flow to his brain was cut off. So he's not actually asleep. He's in a coma.

Felicia: (Sobs) Oh, God. A coma? (Sobs)

Brooke: For how long?

Bridget: I've seen this last for days. I don't know, Mom, it could be-- it could be longer. (Sighs)

Donna: What are you saying? He--he may never come out of this?

Bridget: It's a possibility, yes.

Felicia: Daddy. Daddy, wake up. (Sobs) No. No.

Donna: (Breathing heavily)

Ridge: Happy now?

Donna: Ridge. Ridge, I-I understand. I'm scared, too.

Ridge: Why? Because you know what you did to him?

Donna: Wh--what I did to him?

Ridge: Oh, you know how stressed out Dad's been. What the hell were you thinking, Donna?

Donna: Ridge, don't. Don't you do this. Don't you dare. All I wanted is to bring love to his life, joy to his life. That's what I was doing to him. I was loving him. And if he was stressed and overwhelmed, it's because of-- because of you, his son. You greeted him with the news that you wanted to take his beloved company from him. Did you know how that was gonna break his heart? So don't you blame this on me. Don't you dare.
