Felicia: Dad's stepping down?

Thorne: I don't believe it.

Felicia: What did you threaten him with?

Ridge: I didn't threaten him. I was honest with him. I told him the, uh, reality of the situation and the prudence of our plan.

Thorne: By giving you and Brooke the company as a wedding gift?

Brooke: Ridge and I will have controlling interest, and the rest of the shares will be divided up among the rest of the family.

Felicia: Divided how?

Ridge: We'll discuss all that at the meeting tomorrow.

Thorne: So he's really okay with this?

Ridge: Yes, he is. I hope you are, too. It's what you wanted. I didn't want Dad to leave the company. I just want Donna gone.

Ridge: Look, if Dad wants to stay on and design, he's welcome to do that. His wife is not.

Brooke: The important thing is the company is moving forward.

Ridge: We are going to announce our wedding and the Forrester change of ownership tomorrow at the board meeting.

Thorne: So we're inviting the press?

Felicia: Dad's agreed to take part in that?

Ridge: He wants this company back on top, kiddo. You know we're gonna put it there.

Felicia: Okay, don't get me wrong. I mean, this is good news for Forrester Creations and--and for you.

Thorne: Yeah.

Felicia: I mean, Dad's been training you to take his place since you were in diapers, so God knows you're ready. I know that you and Brooke can handle this and do a great job. I'm just shocked, that's all. I mean, Dad has been dead set against any change in leadership. I mean, how many times have we all told him that his marriage to Donna was hurting this company? He wouldn't listen.

Ridge: Well, I'm afraid the trip to New York was a big wake-up call for him.

Thorne: Oh, it went that bad?

Ridge: The buyers weren't buying. Nobody was saying anything, but he knew why. I'm afraid the writing was on the wall. Dad finally had to face it.

Eric: Mm-hmm.

Eric: (Sighs)

Eric: (Sighs)

Donna: It's a long day, huh?

Eric: Mm. Yeah.

Donna: Mm.

Eric: Mm. Would you like-- you want one of these?

Donna: Oh, no, no.

Eric: No?

Donna: Mm, no thank you.

Eric: Well, if-- if ever I needed a Martini, it's tonight, right now.

Donna: Yeah, I can tell.

Eric: You have to thank your friend Owen for bringing that gin to me. I didn't realize I was out. Thank him, will you?

Donna: Okay. Oh, honey bear, you seem so-- so worn out.

Eric: (Sighs) I just, um-- I just feel so empty.

Donna: It's the document Ridge shoved in your face, isn't it? Look, why don't you just forget about it? Forget about it.

Eric: After you left, I told him I would sign it.

Donna: You're giving away the company to Brooke and Ridge?

Eric: They're announcing it tomorrow at the board meeting.

Donna: No. No, they can't force you out.

Eric: Donna, I agreed to it. It's what Ridge has worked for all his life. It's what I trained him for.

Donna: Eric... Eric, this isn't what you want. I saw Ridge pushing you and--and pressuring you.

Eric: No, I know. He pressured me. That's right. But look, he loves this company. He loves-- he loves Forrester Creations as much as I do. He wants his shot. He deserves it.

Donna: Yeah, yeah. It's what he wants. What about what you want?

Eric: The company's in trouble, Donna. I can't deny that.

Donna: Oh, Eric. Eric, what's in your heart? Is this what you want? If it's not, don't do it. You don't have to sign this document. Don't do it.

Hope: Cookies!

Katie: Oh! R.J.'s gonna be so jealous that he decided to spend the night with grandpa.

Beth: I hope you like oatmeal raisin. Mwah.

Katie: No one makes oatmeal raisin cookies better than grandma, huh? Mmm! Yum.

Hope: Mmm.

Beth: (Chuckles)

Katie: Mmm, they're just like I remember. Your recipe is the best.

Beth: Oh, I can't take credit for this. I found the recipe in Brooke's recipe box.

Katie: No, it's yours. Well, you did really well. I mean, they're really good. You know what would make these even better, though? A nice tall glass of milk. Come on. Let's go get milk for everyone.

Beth: (Sighs) (doorbell rings)

Beth: Oh, uh, I'll get it.

Nick: Hey!

Beth: Nick.

Nick: Just the girl I wanted to see. How you doin'?

Beth: Really?

Nick: Yeah.

Beth: Is-- is Bridget with you?

Nick: No, no. She's at the hospital. And she asked me to come over and check on you and see how you were doing.

Beth: Well, much better. Thank you.

Nick: I see that. You've got the light back in your eyes.

Beth: (Scoffs) It's probably just the side effect from all the brain scans I've had lately.

Nick: (Laughs) And your sense of humor's back. That's very good.

Hope: Nick!

Nick: Oh, who's that? Who is that? Is that my little sweet pea? My gosh, I haven't seen you for so long! Mm! Hey there.

Katie: I thought you were on your honeymoon.

Nick: Yeah, it got cut short. You know, a little hospital duty and, um, just seems like we've been gone forever, seeing you here. You look great.

Katie: Thanks. So do you. Marriage agrees with you.

Nick: It's still warm. Thank you. My favorite.

Katie: Well, hope is playing with her dollhouse. I used to love my dollhouse when I was a little girl. Remember that?

Beth: Yes, I do, thanks to all the wonderful care I've been receiving at the hospital and from all of you. And, Nick, thanks to you for bringing me home.

Nick: Forget about me. I'm glad you're getting the care you need. My wife's not the only genius over at that hospital, either, you know?

Katie: She's got a whole team of specialists working on Mom. Even Taylor is involved.

Nick: She's the best.

Katie: I know. I keep telling her the change is amazing.

Beth: Well, I wouldn't go that far, but, uh, I am. I'm--I'm--I'm feeling better. The drugs and the therapy, they're--they're helping. But I think the biggest difference is, uh, being around all of you. You know, in Paris, I-I didn't realize how much I missed my family, how much I wanted to be home here with my girls. I guess I was, uh, I was pretty lonely.

Katie: Well, you're not alone anymore. We're all here for you.

Beth: (Sighs)

Thorne: So that's it? You're in. Dad's out.

Brooke: As far as the press and our clients are concerned, yes. Starting tomorrow, Forrester Creations is entering a new phase.

Ridge: The next phase. I like that.

Felicia: So I take it you'll be giving a speech?

Ridge: Someone has to set the tone.

Brooke: It's up to us how the story is told.

Ridge: I don't want anybody whispering anything about mutiny or hostile takeovers.

Thorne: Is that what this is?

Ridge: No. I told you, Dad's on board. This will be a smooth transition. No fireworks, no tension.

Thorne: Yeah. Wouldn't that be great?

Felicia: Yeah, miraculous.

Ridge: No, it's no miracle, Felicia. This is the next logical step in Forrester's evolution. Tomorrow we will tell the world the torch has been passed. Brooke and I are the new owners of Forrester Creations.

Donna: It's still your company, Eric. If you're not ready to hand it over, you shouldn't.

Eric: Oh, Donna, I've been so fired up. The collection was so wonderful. I was so proud of it. And it just--- it just hadn't held up.

Donna: It's the press. It's Stephanie. Stephanie was their darling.

Eric: No, no, it's not just that. It was-- it's--it's Stephanie's shooting and--and Storm's--Storm's death. We've been all over the papers, all over the papers, and not just on the fashion page either.

Donna: Well, it doesn't mean you just should hang it up. I mean, if anything, the company needs you now more than ever. Eric, this--this company is so much a part of you that if you just give it away, it's like cutting off your own arm.

Eric: It's done. It's done, Donna.

Donna: So you've made up your mind?

Eric: (Sighs)

Donna: Damn it, will you just be honest with yourself?

Eric: I've turned this company around before. I could do it again. We've come back. We've come back many times from scandals a lot bigger than this. This isn't a scandal. This is just gossip.

Donna: So you're not ready to throw in the towel?

Eric: No. No. I'm not. Forrester Creations is my company. It's my company. I built it. I love this company. And I'm gonna run this company, and I will be the one who decides when I step down.

Ridge: Thorne and Felicia seemed pretty shocked.

Brooke: Well, they're just surprised that your dad agreed to it.

Ridge: It's not like he's turning the company over to a couple of amateurs.

Brooke: Mm.

Ridge: You and I have been preparing for this for, what, a couple decades?

Brooke: (Chuckles) The business. Our wedding. It's all coming together.

Ridge: Sure is. Not too soon, too.

Eric: I'm not stepping down. It's too soon. I have too many good years left in me.

Donna: Yes. Yes, you do.

Eric: God, if Ridge takes over the company, he'll create a-- an even wider divide than exists now, and there'll--there'll be two distinct groups. There'll be Brooke on one side and--and you on the other and--

Donna: And Katie. What--and who knows?

Eric: (Sighs)

Donna: The way Ridge feels, maybe Rick isn't even safe.

Eric: Oh, no, no, that-- that--that will never happen. I mean, Ridge has been with me longer, but Rick will always have a place at Forrester Creations. And Marcus, too. He's done a lot to impress me, and if I wasn't there, all that good work would be for nothing. One day soon, I'm gonna change my will. I'm gonna make certain that he's there as an heir.

Donna: Oh, Eric. Eric, oh, my God. I-- (sighs) I never even in my wildest dreams imagined that you--

Eric: He's a great kid. He's terrific, and he has wonderful potential.

Donna: (Sighs)

Eric: I just want to-- I want to protect his future, and--and I'm not sure I'm always gonna be there to do that.

Donna: Don't-- don't talk like that, please.

Eric: (Chuckles) No, you--you and Marcus are gonna outlive me. There's no question about that. I just want to be sure that I don't leave you with some kind of a mess, all right? Now when it happens--

Donna: No. No. In a million years from now--

Eric: Yes, just about a million years from now. That's when it's gonna happen.

Donna: (Sighs)

Eric: I don't want to leave you with, uh, difficult things in front of you. I don't want to you to have to fight my family for what's yours. Now I've taken precautions against that, but if I don't give Ridge and Brooke the company back tomorrow, they're gonna be betrayed, and they're gonna blame you...

Donna: Oh, God.

Eric: For my change of heart.

Donna: Why not? Your kids blame me for everything else.

Eric: Yeah, they do, don't they?

Donna: (Laughs)

Eric: They are so wrong about you, Mrs. Forrester.

Donna: Well, they think that you're ready to give up your company. They're even more wrong about you.

Eric: A marriage is not a liability. When they look back at this point in Forrester's history, they will see that this was the reason for its rejuvenation. I love this company. It's my lifeblood. It gives me purpose and determination, and I will not give it up. I can not imagine my life without it.

Donna: (Laughs) Do you think that maybe you can give me some of that purpose and determination right now?

Eric: Oh, yeah. Oh.

Donna: (Giggles)

Beth: You think you can handle almost anything life throws at you until the unthinkable comes along.

Katie: Tell me about it.

Beth: Oh, I didn't handle my crisis nearly as well as you did, honey.

Katie: Who have you been talking to?

Beth: (Laughs) You know, when I-- when I was in Paris, I had a doctor who was really very helpful. I mean, I recovered from the-- physically from the stroke very quickly, but then I realized my memory was starting to fail me. And I just--you know, I don't have to tell you that when you're recovering from surgery or an illness, the future is what you hope for. It's what keeps you going, you know, the image of how things will be if you do everything right and follow doctor's orders. But all of a sudden, my future became this gaping chasm that was threatening to swallow me up one memory at a time, and I was-- well, I was terrified. And my depression just made all of the symptoms worse, and, well, I-I would have continued to lose myself in that darkness, Nick, if you hadn't come to bring me home. But now I am home...

Katie: Mm-hmm.

Beth: Surrounded by the people I love, and I'm loving them back and living my life, every precious minute of it, making cookies for my grandchildren.

Hope: Grandma?

Beth: Yes, Hope?

Hope: Can I have another cookie? They're so good.

Beth: Ooh, of course you can. Here. And I have a favor to ask you. Do you think you could help me make the next batch?

Hope: Sure.

Beth: Great. Okay, come on, baby.

Nick: Lucky, lucky.

Beth: (Laughs) We'll save you some.

Nick: Okay. You Logan women have a lot in common.

Katie: Yeah, I guess so. Neither one of us would be here if it weren't for you.

Nick: You Logan women should really start giving yourselves a little bit more credit.

Katie: I don't think anyone's ever accused us of being too modest.

Nick: Well, you are. Pretending I'm the hero in this whole deal. I mean, you are braver than I'll ever be. The way you stepped in at the wedding as the justice of the peace...

Katie: (Sighs) Bridget really wanted me to. She was so excited setting the whole thing up. I-I-I didn't know if I would be able to do it, but I guess in the end, it was a good thing.

Nick: Ya done good, kid.

Katie: It was a pleasure. Truly. It was amazing to stand up there and see you and Bridget so committed to each other. I just kept thinking about how much you've been through and about jack and how lucky he is to have Bridget in his life. You know, it's a rare thing when you can be absolutely certain that you're making the right choice, not just for yourself, but for your family, for all the people you love.

Katie: I'm so happy to have been a part of that. I'm so happy for all of you.

Brooke: (Sighs) Goodness. In your father's office. I'm not sure it's the best way to get on his good side.

Ridge: Oh, he'll never know.

Brooke: Scoffs Pam probably had her ear pushed up against the door the whole time.

Ridge: Well, I hope she enjoyed the show, and if she didn't, there'll be a repeat performance tomorrow.

Brooke: Oh, really?

Ridge: Mm-hmm.

Brooke: Mm.

Ridge: You know of a better way to celebrate?

Brooke: Well, your father did just hand over the keys to his kingdom. I'm not sure it's the best time to be throwing confetti.

Ridge: Just a little celebration-- the two of us...

Brooke: (Giggles)

Ridge: After we give Dad the proper sendoff he deserves.

Brooke: Mm, this is such a big moment for us.

Ridge: One I've been waiting for all my life.

Brooke: And it's happening just the way that you wanted. Your father is giving us the company with his blessing.

Donna: Mm.

Eric: (Sighs)

Donna: (Sighs) God, I love you so much, honey bear. You know, I can't even remember my life without you. I don't even want to. Your passion, your creativity... I feel so lucky to be your wife. My honey bear forever. Mm, it sounds so good. Honey bear?

Donna: Eric?

Donna: Eric? Oh, my God! Eric?
