Nick: (Animated voice) My name is Froggy, and I'm very nice. But I also roll crooked dice. Yeah, I will make you into a mice and--
Bridget: Uh...
Nick: Stop right there.
Bridget: Okay.
Nick: I want to show you something, Jack. I want you to memorize this view right here because whenever someone says "epitome of beauty," this is the reference point.
Bridget: Mm-hmm. And whenever anyone tells you about a silver-tongued devil--
Nick: Do you hear that? She--she says I'm trying to sweet-talk her into something.
Bridget: Well, are you?
Nick: Absolutely.
Bridget: (Giggles)
Nick: Hi.
Bridget: Hi. Ooh. Mmm. Hello to you, too. Hi, buddy.
Nick: How was work?
Bridget: Oh, well, it was-- it was long.
Nick: Really?
Bridget: Mm-hmm.
Nick: Tired?
Bridget: Well, I was, but not anymore.
Nick: Not in front of the baby.
Bridget: Oh, right. Okay.
Katie: I'm surprised you came back.
Brooke: I dropped Mom at my place, and Dad's with her.
Katie: I hope we got through to her, Brooke.
Brooke: We did. I'm sure she realizes that running away now would be the worst thing for her, for all of us.
Katie: Well, as soon as Bridget gets back, we can talk to her about the neurologist that she mentioned.
Brooke: Well, let's not get into that quite yet.
Katie: Is there some other reason why you came back?
Brooke: Tell me about Nick-- the two of you.
Katie: (Inhales) Okay. Nick and I are friends. He's been amazing. If it wasn't for Nick and Bridget, I don't know.
Brooke: I know that he was there for you when you really needed him. He gave you the will to hang on.
Katie: We shared some incredible moments.
Brooke: Nick told me. And Bridget and I were really grateful that he could be there for you.
Katie: What's your question, Brooke, because you obviously have one.
Brooke: (Laughs) Okay. Um, I was wondering what I could expect from you next. Being Bridget's mom, should I be concerned?
Katie: So in other words, now that I'm not on my deathbed, you want to know if I'm gonna go after Nick?
Marcus: Look--damn. Look, how--how'd you get past security?
Owen: I told 'em we had an appointment. Now we do.
Marcus: Owen, I'm at work, man. Can I just call you later about this?
Owen: Relax. You're practically the boss's son, thanks to me sending you that wedding announcement. Aren't you glad I did?
Marcus: Yeah, of course I am, totally, man. It's been amazing meeting my mom.
Owen: It's a success story. That's what I like to hear. It's the reason I fronted you the cash for the plane ticket. I knew that this Donna Logan was gonna be the one. You hit the jackpot.
Marcus: Look, I found my mother, man. That's all I cared about, not the money.
Owen: Right. You've always wanted to know who your biological mother was, and now because of me, you do. I put a lot of effort into tracking them down, Marcus.
Marcus: And I realize that, Owen, and I'm grateful. I really am.
Owen: How grateful?
Eric: All right, look, now that I see what this fabric is gonna do, I want to shorten this-- this hemline by at least 3 inches. Let's just mark it right here, all right?
Man: You got it.
Eric: Good. All right. This is nice. It's about these straps-- I'm not sure about this here.
Man: Have you considered a crisscross halter?
Eric: No, no, I haven't. Why don't you make one up, and we'll take a look at together, all right? In the meantime, shorten these, if you will.
Stephanie: Hello.
Eric: Hey, Stephanie. I don't think you've met Tim. Tim just graduated from Brooks college. He's starting out in the sewing room for a while.
Stephanie: Oh. Well, hello, Tim. Nice to see you. And congratulations. I hope you learn a lot while you're here.
Tim: Already have, Mrs. Forrester. Thank you.
Felicia: Dad, can we steal you away for a sec?
Eric: Sure. Ladies, uh, that's all. Thanks very much. Thank you.
Tim: I'll get right on those changes.
Eric: Thank you. This is a nice surprise.
Stephanie: And you're about to have another one.
Thorne: Felicia and I met Mother for breakfast this morning, and she brought us a copy of "Fashion wear daily."
Felicia: Guess who made the cover?
Eric: Ridge?
Felicia: No. It would be your other son, your stepson.
Eric: Am I supposed to be embarrassed by this?
Thorne: Page one, Dad.
Eric: Oh, the scandal.
Felicia: Would you please not mock us? This is serious.
Eric: Listen, I take being a role model and father figure for Donna's grown son very, very seriously.
Thorne: "The new future of Forrester." This doesn't bother you a little?
Eric: I can see it bothers you.
Felicia: Look, y-you may not care what the press is saying about our family, but we do.
Eric: So my wife has a grown son who's doing a very good job down in shipping. I don't see this as the disaster that you and Ridge do. Am I supposed to just turn in my keys and slink out the back door?
Thorne: This was never about taking this company away from you, Dad. We are protecting you.
Eric: Yeah, so you've said many times. I just don't see it as the disaster that you do.
Felicia: How about the fact that it hurts? It's like out with the old, in with the new. It's like in your eyes, Daddy, we don't even exist anymore. Do we matter to you at all?
Thorne: Our experience, our opinions, our business judgment-- it's being swept away day by day, Dad. You know how belittled I feel? And never mind what Ridge is going through and Mother.
Stephanie: Wait, wait, wait. Uh, Eric, could I speak to you alone for a few moments, please? Do you mind?
Stephanie: This does not make me happy seeing you at odds with them.
Eric: It doesn't make me very happy either. What shall I do? Shall I take sides here?
Stephanie: They think that you've already done that, Eric.
Eric: Do you think I'm being unfair?
Stephanie: I think it was, um, the right thing to do-- accept your wife's, uh, son openly and unconditionally.
Eric: Thank you.
Stephanie: It was very gracious of you not to turn him away. But then you've always been very trusting when you're in love.
Owen: Fate sure was smilin' down on you, having this particular Donna Logan as a birth mother.
Marcus: Well, y-you're--you're right-- you're right about that. I mean, she's a great lady-- real, you know? I mean, I have been trying to find her for so long, I was just ready to pack it up, man.
Owen: And then you found me, and I produced. Now here you are. You're all wrapped up in the bosom of your brand-new family.
Marcus: Well, getting there anyway. They're nice people, for the most part.
Owen: And they are loaded, too. You know, I've been waiting for my phone to ring, Marcus, for you to call me and tell me how things worked out.
Marcus: Yeah, you're right, Owen. I probably should have called you.
Owen: You definitely should have. Or maybe you thought I'd never find out. You wouldn't have to settle up that way.
Marcus: Oh, come on, Owen. It wasn't even like that, man.
Owen: So what's it like?
Marcus: What? I was layin' low, okay, until Donna told her husband about me. That's all.
Owen: Well, now he knows, and so does the rest of the world, including me.
Katie: Brooke, there's no reason for you to worry. There's no reason for Bridget to worry.
Brooke: So all these intense feelings that built up between you and Nick, all of a sudden, poof, they're gone? I mean, do you really expect me to believe that?
Katie: I think you of all people know that it doesn't really work that way.
Brooke: Right. So how do you intend to handle these feelings?
Katie: I don't know. But I think after the last few weeks, I can handle anything. I love Bridget, and I owe her so much. She's an exceptional person. I know that. And more importantly, so does Nick.
Nick: Business, social, social, social...
Bridget: (Sighs)
Nick: Social, business. Quiet up there.
Bridget: Yeah. He conked right out.
Nick: Well, you know what he asked? He said, "Dad, can I stay up past my bedtime so I can see Bridget when she gets here?"
Bridget: Jack said all that?
Nick: He did, verbatim.
Bridget: Wow. It's amazing how verbal he is when I'm not around.
Nick: He's rendered speechless by your beauty.
Bridget: (Giggles) Now I know you want something.
Nick: (Sighs) Do you know what I want?
Bridget: Hmm?
Nick: I want what I got. Now how many people in the world can say that?
Bridget: Aren't you being sweet?
Nick: You bring it out in me, you and that boy up there that you are so amazing with.
Bridget: Oh, Nick, he is so precious. He's just-- I love that child so much. It doesn't matter what kind of day I've had. I can just come home and look at his face, and everything melts away. It's exactly everything I imagined when I was pregnant with Nicole. This time that I've been spending with him and watching him grow every day and the time I've spent with you, I-thank you. Thank you so much.
Nick: God, you're beautiful.
Nick: Mmm. How did I get so lucky to have such a hot chick in my life?
Bridget: I don't know. But every once in a while we do get second chances. It happens. I mean, look at Katie.
Katie: So have I put your mind at ease?
Brooke: (Sighs) I believe that you mean everything that you're saying, but it doesn't mean that I'm not concerned. I know that you've never had these feelings for a man before. And don't say that I'm wrong because I know that I'm right. Nick is a very special person. And it's really hard to walk away from him. I'm speaking from experience.
Katie: I won't hurt Bridget.
Bridget: I'm not talking about Bridget now. (Sighs heavily) I'm talking about you. I don't want you to crawl into your protective shell and never come out.
Katie: (Laughs)
Brooke: You're gonna be in pain for a while. You're making a sacrifice.
Katie: No, no, no, I'm not gonna think of it like that. It would be arrogant of me to think that Nick is only with Bridget because I won't step in. This is what I want. This is what Nick wants. He loves her. I want them to have everything they deserve. I want them to be happy with jack. I want them to have a perfect family. I love them. I want them to have all this. Is that too much to believe?
Brooke: No. It isn't.
Eric: Well, that's a very thoughtful and enlightened position for you to take. I appreciate it.
Stephanie: Look, look, you were--it--you-- accepting Donna's son was the decent thing to do. I just don't want you to lose sight of how it impacts our children.
Eric: I'm not shoving our children aside.
Stephanie: I understand that may not be your intention. I just-- look, there's a lot going on for them. Try to understand, all right? They are disappointed because we are not together.
Eric: (Scoffs) Steph--
Stephanie: I am talking about our children. I know it's not in the cards for us. I just--I don't want you to be angry with them because they keep hoping.
Eric: I don't want Marcus to be a target for their anger. I don't. This isn't about Donna. It's not about Donna's son.
Stephanie: It shouldn't be about either one of them.
Eric: (Exhales deeply) Look, Marcus had no ulterior motives in coming here from Texas. He just wanted to, uh, he just wanted to meet his birth mother. He's a good kid. He just wanted to meet his mom.
Marcus: So you came all this way to congratulate me? That's what you said.
Owen: Look, I'm glad that you found your mom. I really am. But I didn't put the money into tracking her down and putting you on a plane out of the goodness of my heart. You hired me to do a job, and I did it. Now it's time for you to pay me what you owe me. I mean, not only did I find the right person. It turns out that she's married to a very wealthy man, high profile. You know what I'm saying?
Marcus: Yeah, she may be, but I'm not.
Owen: Well, here you are, aren't ya? You got your big fancy company.
Marcus: Yeah, I'm here, but I work in shipping. I haul boxes around, man. I was given an entry-level job, not a trust fund.
Owen: Maybe not yet. You know, you should've just sent me a check, Marcus. But instead you disappeared on me. You made me come here in person to collect my money. I should add my expenses to what you owe me, but I think I'm gonna give you a break. I'll settle for my fee. I want the $2,500 that you owe me, and to tell you the truth, I think that I'm entitled to a bonus.
Marcus: A bonus?
Owen: Yeah. Come on, look at you. I've changed your life, man. I think that I'm entitled to a little extra, don't you?
Katie: Is Bridget not home yet?
Nick: She's upstairs showering. I thought you were with Brooke.
Katie: Uh, I was. She's still upstairs. She had some phone calls to return. I thought this might be a good time for us to talk.
Nick: About?
Katie: Brooke is concerned about Bridget. And she's concerned about us. And I want you to know what I said to her. I want you to know where I stand and what I expect from you.
Stephanie: I'm not criticizing.
Eric: No, of course not.
Stephanie: But I know you. You're a very focused person. Right now you're focused on your new wife and her family. And that's perfectly natural.
Eric: But don't focus so narrowly that, uh, you neglect the people you really love. Is that it?
Stephanie: A little reassurance would go a long way.
Eric: You're right. You're absolutely right. But I just hope that our kids can learn to live and let live. They have absolutely no reason to be up in arms. Marcus Walton is not a threat anyone.
Marcus: Look, I know I owe you money, okay? And you'll get it as soon as I can. And as far as anything above our deal goes--
Owen: Let's not worry about the particulars. You know, just seeing you happy, gettin' to know your mom, it's a beautiful thing. And I'm happy for you, man. I am really happy for you. But I just want you to remember who's responsible for all this happiness.
Nick: I'm listening.
Katie: I told Brooke that you and I are friends, good friends, and that I'm also friends with Bridget, and I don't want anything to change that.
Nick: Sounds reasonable.
Katie: Good. And now for old time's sake, I'd like to boss you around a little bit.
Nick: Perfect.
Katie: (Giggles) I want you to get back to your real life, the life that you were building with Bridget before any of this happened. Make a commitment to her. It's what she deserves, and it's what she wants, and it's what's best for you and jack. You both need a woman in your life who's permanent. And Bridget should be that woman, and you know it.
Nick: And what about you?
Katie: I'm getting stronger every day, physically and emotionally.
Nick: It might take a little time to heal from what you've been through.
Katie: Well, time heals all wounds. Isn't that what they say?
Katie: You're a good guy, Nick Marone, no matter what anyone says.
Nick: (Laughs)
Katie: And you did a good thing for me. You showed me that life can be magical, that it can defy all reason, logic. You let me jump into the deep end, and you taught me how to swim. You saved me with your understanding. And now I have one more request to make of you, although I don't think it will be much of a sacrifice. I want you to bring magic to Bridget's life. I want you to love her and make her happy and give her the kind of understanding that she deserves. Let's let this fairy tale end the way it's supposed to. Let's make a perfect picture. Make a commitment to her. No one deserves it more than she does, no one. (Sniffles)
