Storm: What did you tell her, Ridge? Did you tell her I shot your mother?
Ridge: And if I did?
Storm: Look, Ridge, I care about Ashley, and I don't want you-- let's just, uh, hope you didn't say anything.
Ridge: You're in danger, Ashley, very serious danger.
Ashley: Hey, Storm, you know what? Hold on a second. Um, I live out of your way, and I don't want to inconvenience you. So I think I'm just gonna hop out, and I'm gonna-- I'm gonna call a cab.
Storm: Ashley, Ashley, it's fine. It's no trouble at all. No, you're not gonna call a cab.
Jackie: Nicky, this new architect I've hired-- not only is he cute, but he's got some incredible ideas for renovating the old spectra building. Actually, I was hoping you could go over them with me, and then we could--
Nick: Sure, sure.
Jackie: He wants me to take the bathtub out of the office, though. Personally, I liked it as a statement.
Nick: Get rid of the bathtub, mother.
Jackie: Ooh, you agree with him.
Nick: I do. You've already squeezed all the press you can out of that. You've had two covers in the tub.
Jackie: Well, it's about creating a mystique, isn't it?
Nick: Well, the mystique I see here is when this company is gonna start making some money.
Jackie: That was an incredibly low blow.
Nick: I'm sorry, mother. I got into this deal as a silent partner. You guaranteed me you'd turn sally's company around for a winner. I'm kind of waiting for that to happen.
Jackie: Well, things take time, you know?
Nick: Time, time, time. Timing is everything. That's what they say, isn't it?
Jackie: Are we still talking about me and my company?
Nick: No, mother, we're not.
Jackie: No, I didn't think we were. Well, whatever it is we are talking about, it's obviously weighing heavily on you.
Nick: Women.
Jackie: Women?
Nick: Women. Speaking of which, wh-where did they go?
Jackie: They?
Nick: Yeah. A couple women here a minute ago about ready to heat things up. Just wondering where they went.
Bridget: Katie, come on, I mean, just tell me. What's going on between you and Nick?
Katie: I-I'm sorry. I know how close you are. I know how much he means to you.
Bridget: And you just kissed him anyway?
Katie: I-yeah. I-I couldn't help myself. I-I don't know. I-I just-- I shouldn't have done it.
Bridget: You just-- you just couldn't help yourself?
Katie: Yeah. That just sounds so stupid, doesn't it? I'm so--I-I'm sorry. I-I-I don't--this is not me. I don't go around locking lips with people.
Bridget: Evidently you do with Nick.
Katie: I never meant to hurt you. I feel really bad.
Bridget: How long has this been going on?
Katie: Nothing's going on. We're not involved.
Bridget: You're just kissing, right? (Laughs)
Katie: I didn't want to keep this a secret. It's--it's making me feel sick.
Bridget: You feel better now?
Katie: No, not really. But I feel like I've done the right thing.
Bridget: By owning up?
Katie: (Sighs) Listen, if you want to hate me forever, I understand. I feel like an idiot.
Bridget: Oh, God, Katie, please. Because you kissed Nick? I'm not gonna hate you forever. Is that all that happened?
Katie: Yeah, pretty much.
Bridget: Well, then, I mean, so you kissed him. Obviously you have some sort of crush on him. And I-I-who could blame you? I mean, my God, he's so charming. I actually think it's kind of cute.
Katie: (Chuckles)
Brooke: Ridge, I left a thousand messages on your cell phone. Where were you? Please don't tell me you went to Ashley.
Brooke: Ridge, we all agreed to keep this a secret. The fact that my brother shot your mother-- that was supposed to stay between all of us, the families, the Forresters and the Logans. Everybody agreed on that, even Stephanie. I'm not saying that Ashley would maliciously hurt us, but what if she was talking to somebody and it slipped out of her mouth? And then my brother would be going to prison. Please, just-- please, tell me you didn't say anything to Ashley.
Ridge: Your secret is safe, Logan.
Brooke: Ohh, thank you. Thank you. I am so relieved. I-Ridge, I just don't want Ashley to know the truth. I mean, who knows? Maybe she and Storm could go out on another date.
Ridge: They already have. I saw them together at Cafe Russe.
Brooke: What?
Ridge: In fact, they're together right now. And if I'm to be honest, that worries the hell out of me.
Storm: Ashley, I'm not gonna let you take a cab. It's no inconvenience at all. I'd rather you get home safely.
Ashley: Thank you. That's very kind of you. (Tires squeal)
Storm: (Clears throat)
Ashley: Storm, what are you doing?
Storm: Look, I'm sorry about this, Ashley, but, uh, I saw you with Ridge earlier. Did he say something? I mean, did he say something-- something to you about me?
Jackie: You have two women here fighting over you?
Nick: I wouldn't call it fighting, mother, no. (Sighs)
Jackie: (Laughs) Good for the male ego.
Nick: Well, I didn't encourage this, believe me.
Jackie: Hmm. Well, are you going to enlighten me to who these damsels in demand are?
Nick: (Sighs heavily) It's Bridget and Katie Logan.
Jackie: Oh. You're spending time with Katie Logan?
Nick: Well, no, she helps me out with Jack. Never met anyone quite like her.
Jackie: Well, that's a resounding endorsement.
Nick: She plays basketball and shoots darts, and she likes pistachios.
Jackie: (Laughs) Wow. What more could you ask?
Nick: Like I said, she's been babysitting Jack for me.
Jackie: Yes. So then you're falling for the babysitter?
Nick: No, I'm not falling for-- it's not like she's a kid.
Jackie: (Giggles) No. Actually, she's a bit old to be a babysitter, I think, unless, of course, she's using it as an excuse.
Nick: An excuse for what?
Jackie: Um, let me see. To see you.
Nick: No. Mother, please. She got involved here, because she was helping Bridget. Bridget's her niece.
Jackie: Oh. Oh, I forgot. Katie would be Bridget's aunt.
Nick: Complicated.
Jackie: Yeah. But I guess it's only complicated if you make it complicated-- your feelings, I mean.
Nick: It's complicated.
Katie: You think it's cute?
Bridget: Well, yeah. My aunt has a crush on--on my guy. I just wasn't expecting to hear that.
Katie: Well, don't put words in my mouth. I-you said "Crush," not me.
Bridget: Okay, well, what would you call it?
Katie: I would call it nothing.
Bridget: Oh, really? Okay. Well, are you-- are you falling for him?
Katie: No, of course not. Don't be absurd.
Bridget: It's not absurd. He's--he's charming. He's a terrible flirt. He's sexy and successful and I-be-uh, uh-- has he told you that he cares about you?
Katie: No. I-uh, we--we-- we don't stay up late at night discussing our feelings.
Bridget: Well, I would hope not. I-I mean, that would be weird. You're here because you're the babysitter.
Katie: Right, I'm the babysitter, because you asked me to babysit.
Bridget: Right. Um, right--I mean--
Katie: Go ahead. I mean, obviously, you want to say something. If I was interested in Nick, which I'm not, what--I'm not-- I'm not sexy enough? I'm not hot enough? What?
Bridget: Oh, Katie, please. No, I just have never thought of you and Nick as, um-- well, I just have never thought of you together.
Katie: Because I can't give him the unbridled attention that you give him?
Bridget: Oh, wow, somehow I don't think you meant that as a compliment.
Katie: I guess it's just not my style.
Bridget: Not your style. Let's not get catty and bitchy. Come on. Let's--I-- Katie, I know Nick better than most anyone, and I-- we've been through so much together. And I-I don't want you to get your hopes up and then just get hurt.
Katie: (Laughs)
Bridget: I'm gonna go make a bottle for Jack.
Katie: I should do that, because I'm the babysitter. So let me.
Bridget: Oh, wow. I lost Nick once before, and I am not losing him again, especially to you, Aunt Katie.
Brooke: I'm a little surprised that Storm and Ashley had another date so soon, but that's not a crime, Ridge.
Ridge: No, it's not a crime.
Brooke: So what's the problem?
Ridge: Logan, I don't hold any ill will towards your brother. I just don't want to give him another opportunity to hurt anyone I know.
Brooke: Storm is not an inherently violent man.
Ridge: Uh, okay. The fact remains he shot my mother and then tried to pin it on your father. Am I bothered? Hell, yes, I'm bothered. I need you to understand I'm just trying to look out for the best interest of the people I care about-- my family--right? I know you're doing the same. But I'm sorry I don't happen to share your belief that Storm is harmless.
Storm: Look, Ashley, I saw you with Ridge, and it--it's--it's fine. I'm just wondering why you didn't say anything to me about it.
Ashley: Never crossed my mind to anything. It wasn't a big deal.
Storm: (Exhales deeply) So what did he want?
Ashley: He had some kind of a problem at work.
Storm: (Laughs)
Ashley: He was just concerned, that's it.
Storm: (Laughs) Ridge did not come all the way to cafe Russe to talk to you about work. I think he came to warn you about me. Look, don't let him do this. Don't let him ruin everything.
Ashley: What are you talking about? Ridge isn't ruining anything. We had a fun night, didn't we? I thought it was fun. We had a few laughs, right? (Laughs) You know what? It's so late, and I'm tired. I've got a really big day at the office tomorrow. I'm gonna hop out really quick, okay? I'm just gonna call a cab.
Storm: No, it's fine. Uh, you're right. I'm not gonna let Ridge ruin a perfectly good night, which doesn't have to end right now. So I'll take you home.
Jackie: Oh, hi.
Bridget: Hi, Jackie. You look lovely.
Jackie: Thank you. (Laughs)
Bridget: Where's Nick?
Jackie: He's checking on the baby.
Bridget: Oh, okay. Well, I was gonna do that, but--
Jackie: Oh, don't worry. He'll bring him down if he's awake. (Laughs)
Bridget: (Laughs) Look at all this stuff.
Jackie: Yes, I brought a few things over.
Bridget: Just--just--just-- just a few things.
Jackie: (Laughs)
Bridget: (Laughs) Ahh. Oh, how darling. Oh, my goodness. He's gonna be the best-dressed baby in our babes-and-moms exercise class.
Jackie: You're taking Jack to his exercise classes?
Bridget: (Sighs) Don't worry, Jackie. My expectations aren't getting out of line.
Jackie: But you're hoping, aren't you?
Bridget: I love your son. And I know you believe that Nick and my mom belong together, but I think his time with Brooke has passed.
Nick: Hey, how are things going down there?
Bridget: All right. Your mom and I had a lovely talk. How are things going up there?
Nick: Fine. But that's not really what I asked you.
Bridget: Hi, love bug.
Jackie: You know what? I am going to take my darling little grandson. Thank you.
Nick: So how did your talk go with Katie?
Brooke: Ridge, why can't you see that Storm would never hurt anybody ever again? He feels horrible about what happened with Stephanie. He was at a breaking point. He snapped. There were extenuating circumstances.
Ridge: He's your brother. You've got tunnel vision when it comes to Storm and what he's capable of.
Brooke: Ohh, no. This isn't even about Storm, is it? This is about Ashley.
Ridge: No, it's about Storm. The guy's a loose cannon, and I don't want him where he can threaten our family or anyone I care about, and that includes Ashley.
Ashley: Thanks, Storm. I had a lot of fun tonight.
Storm: Yeah, yeah, it was good. Would you like some company for a little while?
Ashley: Oh, I don't think so. I mean, it was fun, but I've--I've got a-- I've got a pretty big day tomorrow.
Storm: Ah, yes, yes, yes, the belief fragrance. You know, it's funny. What we believe to be true affects what we think and feel and how we react. What is it you believe in, Ashley? I mean, do you believe in, uh, the fun we've had, or do you believe in Ridge and what he thinks of me?
Bridget: Well, Katie told me what happened. She told me that she kissed you.
Nick: She said that she was gonna mention that.
Bridget: It didn't really seem that serious to me. Was it--was it serious?
Nick: (Scoffs) An old sailor like me? Come on.
Bridget: Look, Nick, I know you have so much going on in your life right now. You're finalizing a divorce and raising a child on your own. And I want to keep this light and easy. If you, you know-- I mean, I know what a-a flirt you can be.
Nick: (Laughs)
Bridget: But if you want to go out and--and date or kiss or whatever, just we should talk about it. 'Cause when I heard about the kiss or whatever you want to call it, it hurt me.
Bridget: Please, just don't--don't do it again.
Nick: I'm sorry. I-I won't.
Bridget: I guess it's kind of cute she has a crush on you, right? I mean, who doesn't?
Nick: (Scoffs)
Bridget: Nick, spending time with you and Jack just means the world to me, 'cause you mean so much to me.
Nick: And you know what you mean to me.
Jackie: Nicky, could you come here, please? Your-- Nicky, your son is demanding that you come up here right now.
Bridget: You should go.
Nick: Coming, mother. Oh, Katie, here, I'll take that.
Katie: Oh.
Nick: Thank you.
Katie: Sure.
Bridget: I got a chance to talk to Nick, so it's all handled. It's done.
Katie: Good. Great. What did he say?
Bridget: Oh, I mean, I don't really think that that's the point. I think the point is, uh-- Katie, Nick and I never really had a fair shot when we were married. And this is our chance at a real relationship. And I am not gonna lose that to anyone, especially not you.
Brooke: You are wrong about my brother.
Ridge: Am I?
Brooke: He's not a threat to anybody, especially not to Ashley. In fact, I happen to think that he's infatuated with her.
Storm: So... I'm waiting. What is it you believe in?
Ashley: I believe that I had a very nice evening, and now it's time to call it a night.
Storm: Oh, I was kind of hoping that we could chat a little more, have a nightcap, get to know each other better. Besides, it's starting to rain out here. We're gonna get soaked.
Ashley: Yeah, uh, I'd love to have a nightcap. Some other time, okay?
Storm: Ohh...
Ashley: Okay? I'm really tired.
Storm: You don't trust me, do ya?
Ashley: Good night. I had a good time. Okay, I'll see ya later.
Storm: Ohh. There is something different about you, Ashley. You definitely said something to her, Ridge.
(Cell phone rings)
Ashley: Hey, Ridge. Thanks for calling.
Ridge: I just wanted to check in and make sure you got home okay.
Ashley: Yeah. I mean, it was really tense-- a very strange ride home.
Ridge: Storm gone?
Ashley: Yeah, he is now. I didn't tell him I knew. I-I mean, I-I was really scared, though. I-I think I covered.
Ridge: Well, the important thing is you're home and you're safe.
Ashley: Yeah. I needed to know the truth. So thanks for telling me.
Ridge: Yeah, of course. You know how much I care for you, right?
Ashley: Thank you. That means a lot.
Ridge: Good. Now go lock the door.
Ashley: Yeah, believe me, I already did.
Storm: As a matter of fact, I'm not gonna let you do this. I'm not gonna let you ruin this, Forrester. I swear to God, I'll stop ya. Ashley and I will be together.
