Felicia: Please, Daddy, don't leave us. Please, don't go back to Donna. (Sniffles)
Brooke: I thought you had to work tonight.
Bridget: Well, I-I thought so, too, but the person that I was filling in for was able to come in after all.
Brooke: Oh, that's great. You get a night off. You've been working so hard lately.
Bridget: I know. You're right. I have. I wish I'd know, though. I would have been able to have a nicer evening.
Brooke: Why? You were with somebody special?
Bridget: You could say that, yeah.
Brooke: Really? Anybody I know?
Bridget: I was with Nick, Mom. We've been spending a lot of time together lately and--
Brooke: Oh. You and Nick?
Bridget: Mm-hmm.
Brooke: Honey, I'm not so sure that that's a good idea.
Katie: Look, I don't know you that well, but I do know that what you and Bridget shared seemed really special. Maybe you shouldn't let it go.
Nick: Well, thank you. Thank you for your advice and your support and your babysitting.
Katie: Anytime. Is that a puzzle?
Nick: Yeah.
Katie: (Chuckles) uh, I-I like puzzles. I-I've been known to kind of get obsessive about them. Once I start, I just can't stop.
Nick: Please, knock yourself out.
Katie: Really? Thanks.
Nick: Is there something else you need?
Katie: You got any scotch?
Felicia: The magic that we felt in this room tonight will never be the same if you marry Donna. It'll be irreversibly altered forever.
Eric: That's not true, honey. That's not true. The magic of this family will be here forever and ever.
Eric: Nothing makes me happier than to be here with this family, all of us together. And we've been together forever, through good times and bad times, and nothing-- nothing has ever torn us apart, and nothing ever will. Nothing will ever break the incredible bond we share with one another.
Eric: I salute you, Stephanie. You're the jewel of this family, and you have a huge piece of my heart. You always will. I want to make something clear here. You know, it doesn't matter how old your children get. I'm still your father. It doesn't matter that you are all now adults and, uh, you're grown-ups-- you have your own families now. In spite of that, a father hates to disappoint his family. But I need to make my intentions clear to all of you.
Eric: I'm gonna marry Donna.
Felicia: No!
Stephanie: I knew it.
Eric: Come here, Felicia. Come here. It doesn't change anything. This does not change how much I love you and how much I love this family. That will never, never, never change.
Felicia: (Sniffles) (crying)
Eric: And I want to thank you. I want to thank you for what you did tonight for your mother and for me.
Felicia: (Crying)
Eric: And I thank you all for this wonderful evening.
Eric: I made up my mind.
Felicia: (Sniffles)
Bridget: Yes, Mom, Nick and me. Uh-huh. I mean, nothing's happened yet, technically, but I've been spending some time over there helping out with the baby.
Brooke: Do you really think that's a good idea? I mean, you've been down that road before, and you've been hurt. I just wouldn't want to see that happen again.
Bridget: Hmm. Is that the only reason you don't think that I should spend time with Nick? You've had every opportunity to marry Ridge. And you know Ridge-- he--I mean, he thinks you still have feelings for Nick.
Brooke: (Sighs) Of course I still have feelings for Nick. We share a son together.
Bridget: I just can't help thinking that you're not totally just concerned with me and--and a broken heart. Is there a part of you that's still clinging to some hope that you and Nick might get back together? Is there some truth to that?
Nick: Scotch? You said that you want Scotch?
Katie: Yeah, unless that's a problem.
Nick: No, no, not a problem. Just a little surprise, that's all.
Katie: I don't look like the Scotch-drinking type?
Nick: No, not really. But whatever floats your boat. What do you want-- blended, single malt?
Katie: Hey, as long as you're buying, I'll take whatever you got. Oh, but just a tiny drop. I'm driving.
Nick: Here you go.
Katie: Aha.
Nick: Jigsaw puzzle and a little Scotch--nice combo.
Katie: Cheers. Chin-chin.
Nick: Cheers.
Katie: Mm. Mmm, I like puzzles. I like things that have a guaranteed solution. You might have to look for it, but the answer is there. It's comforting. And the Scotch isn't bad either.
Nick: Okay. Well, I've got some paperwork to do, and I'm waiting for a late-night conference call, so...
Katie: Yeah, sure. Do your thing. Thanks.
Felicia: I can't believe it.
Kristen: That was really wrong for him to lead you on like that, Mom.
Thorne: He's making a stupid mistake.
Ridge: You okay?
Stephanie: Well, I guess I didn't get my miracle, did I?
Pam: Damn you, Eric. So you gone back to that little hot tamale? Well, desperate times call for desperate measures.
Eric: Hi, hi.
Donna: Oh, my God, honey bear, you came back! You came back to me
Eric: I came back. Of course I came back. I told you I was gonna come back.
Donna: Oh, my God.
Eric: Oh, God.
Donna: Oh. (Laughs) I am sorry. I'm--I'm sorry. I didn't mean to doubt you. I just... (sighs) I just--I just-- I-I knew what kind of evening you would have tonight.
Eric: It was, um, an amazing evening. It really was. It was very emotional, and I was very touched by it, and it was a very big celebration of the Forrester family. It really was. But I was, uh, I was able to tell them that I am going to be your husband.
Donna: You did?
Eric: Yeah.
Donna: You told 'em we were getting married?
Eric: I told all of them, including that woman-- what's her name? Stephanie.
Donna: Oh, God.
Eric: (Laughs)
Donna: You have no idea how happy this makes me.
Eric: Oh, honey.
Donna: (Exhales deeply)
Eric: Oh, honey, it makes me happy, too. And finally, we're free to get married-- you and me. It's wonderful.
Donna: (Laughs)
Eric: Nothing over our heads anymore. We should celebrate. We should-- let's have some champagne. The only thing I have are these, like, lemon bars that Pam gave me.
Donna: Oh, my God, don't eat those!
Brooke: Honey, this is not about me. I just don't want you to be disappointed if things don't work out between you and Nick again. And quite frankly, I'm--I'm kind of surprised that you're opening yourself up to him.
Bridget: Well, I did have my reservations, but Katie actually helped me get over them.
Brooke: Katie? What does she have to do with this?
Bridget: Well, she's been really sweet and--and very supportive and encouraging me to just give it a try and see if there's still something, you know, there between us.
Brooke: She's pushing Nick on you?
Bridget: No, Mom, no. Look, he obviously needs help with the baby, and instead of hiring a nanny, why couldn't one of us just pitch in?
Brooke: Does that include me?
Bridget: Mom, no, not if you are gonna marry Ridge. You know that's not a good idea.
Brooke: (Sighs) honey, I know, I know, but this is my child we're talking about.
Bridget: (Scoffs) I know that, but you really, really need to figure out exactly what you want. And I need to know that, because there's one woman that Nick is vulnerable to, and that's you. You tell me that you're completely over him, and then you stand there and--and make a point of reminding me that you have a son together.
Brooke: Bridget, that's all that Nick and I share.
Bridget: Well, I-I really need to know for sure. And I-I think that Ridge is asking you the same thing. So Mom, look at me, and just tell me when's the wedding? When are you gonna marry Ridge?
Katie: Whoo! Yeah! I love it when the pieces just fit. Sorry. I'll keep it down.
Nick: You're really into that puzzle, aren't ya?
Katie: And you think that's strange.
Nick: I didn't say that.
Katie: But that's what you think.
Nick: I never tell what I'm thinking.
Katie: It's a good plan.
Nick: You hungry?
Katie: Are those pistachios?
Nick: Evidently.
Katie: Wow, you really know how to read a girl's mind. I love pistachios.
Nick: Who'd-a thunk?
Katie: I know.
Nick: Here you go.
Katie: Oh, beautiful.
Nick: Oh, I'm starving. (Chuckles)
Katie: (Laughs)
Katie: Do you want to get a bowl for the nuts?
Nick: What's wrong with the waste can?
Katie: Nothing when you hit it.
Nick: I guess sometimes you just gotta throw 'em and let 'em land where they're gonna land.
Katie: So are they just gonna stay there until your housekeeper comes?
Nick: You worry a lot.
Katie: It's in my nature.
Nick: So I figured. You gonna finish that puzzle, or are you just gonna eat my pistachios all night?
Katie: You know, I read somewhere that pistachios are one of the ten most tummy-flattening foods, but I think it's a lie.
Nick: Eh, you shouldn't believe much of what you read.
Katie: Do you think I'm fat?
Nick: No, I never said you were fat. What do you-- actually, you're-- you're very pretty.
Katie: Thanks... I think. But I'm not pretty like my sister is, right?
Nick: Don't put words in my mouth.
Katie: I was always kind of an ugly duckling.
Nick: Well, you're not anymore. You certainly aren't gonna hook up with any guys sitting here at my house putting puzzles together. You gotta make an effort. You've got to care.
Katie: But I don't care.
Nick: Oh, yeah, you do.
Katie: No, I don't.
Nick: So you're telling me you're rather sit alone doing that puzzle than be on a couch with some guy's arm around you?
Katie: Do you see me sitting alone? I could have a very full social calendar. Look at tonight. I'm here with you. I am putting together your puzzle. I'm drinking your Scotch. I'm eating your pistachios.
Katie: Why don't you make yourself useful and help me with this?
Donna: Look, whatever you do, do not eat those. That woman is a nut job.
Eric: Honey, honey.
Donna: Look, she came by here earlier and threatened me.
Eric: Pam is harmless, honey. She's harmless. I sw-I swear.
Donna: She threatened to kill me if I marry you.
Eric: Wh-wh-how did she threaten you--with a spatula?
Donna: No, no, she had an attack dog. Look, I'm--I'm telling you she's--she's certifiable.
Eric: Look, I'll-I'll grant you Pam is out there, but--but--but really, she's--she's nothing to worry about. She--she really isn't. Please, please, don't worry about her. She's--she's all right.
Donna: Okay, okay. Maybe she was just being protective of her sister.
Eric: Absolutely. That's exactly what she's doing. Look, she'll be going home to Chicago very soon. Don't worry, okay? Everything's gonna be all right.
Donna: (Sighs)
Stephanie: (Sighs)
Pam: (Sighs) Damn you, Donna. You are not getting away with this.
Bridget: Mom, come on. I'm waiting for an answer. Have you set a wedding date?
Brooke: No. No, not yet, although I did tell Ridge that I wanted to get married immediately.
Bridget: Okay. And that's not happening. So... he said "No"?
Brooke: Well... (laughs) he thought that I needed a little more time.
Bridget: Oh. He wants you to sort out your feelings for Nick and his son and... right. Right, okay. Listen, Mom, it's me. We've been down this road before. Just tell me the truth, please. What are you feeling for Nick? What are your feelings for Jack? I need to know this, and I'd like to know right now.
Brooke: I-I am committed to Ridge, and we're going to get married. And whatever happens with Nick and with his future, well, that's up to him.
Bridget: Okay. I'm--I'm really happy to hear this.
Brooke: (Laughs) I've loved Ridge my entire life. We've moved heaven and earth to try to be together. And it's going to happen for us. It has to.
Nick: Oh, yeah! Two pieces in one. I'm starting to like this Scotch and jigsaw puzzle.
Katie: See?
Katie: Why are you staring at me?
Nick: Because you're not like your sisters. Are you sure you had the same mom and dad?
Katie: Yeah, I'm sure.
Nick: What happened?
Katie: That's a very good question. I've been asking myself that my whole life. I don't know. I guess I just skipped the line where they're handing out the blond hair and the rockin' bodies.
Nick: Well, you've got a rockin' body. And there's nothing wrong with being a brunette.
Katie: Yeah, but don't blondes have more fun?
Nick: Not necessarily.
Katie: I guess it's nothing that a bottle of peroxide wouldn't solve.
Nick: Back to my original point. If you cared...
Katie: ...Cared. Right.
Nick: You wouldn't be sitting here doing a puzzle with me.
Katie: Oh, don't be so hard on yourself. You're a fun guy.
Nick: You're gonna be a very interesting influence on my son. But like I told you before, you're not gonna attract guys by doing jigsaw puzzles and eatin' pistachios.
Katie: And like I told you before, I don't care.
Nick: Yeah, you do.
Katie: No, I don't.
Nick: Yeah, you do.
Katie: (Scoffs)
Katie: No, I don't.
Nick: Yeah, you do.
Katie: (Laughs)
Eric: Now I want you to forget about Pam, and I want you to forget about Stephanie. You and I have a future to focus on.
Donna: (Sighs heavily) You're right, you're right. She was just-- she was trying to scare me.
Eric: Yeah.
Donna: (Scoffs) And besides, why am I talking about them when--when all that matters is you and me?
Eric: Yeah.
Donna: (Giggles)
Eric: I told you I'd come home to you. And now here I am, and we have a future to plan. We have a wedding to plan. I want to get married...
Donna: (Laughs)
Eric: And I want to get married now, right now. (Laughs)
Donna: Yeah.
Eric: Oh, God.
Donna: (Giggles)
Pam: You whore! You nasty, trampy, filthy, trashy little whore. You are not gonna destroy the Forrester family. I said that I'd kill ya first, Donna. And I will.
Donna: (Giggles)
Eric: Look, I don't want you to worry about anything, all right? I don't want you to worry about Stephanie, and I don't want you to worry about Pam. She's--she's harmless, okay?
Donna: She's harmless. Okay.
Pam: Keep it up with my sister's husband, and your life is over, Donna. Finished. You, contemptible little hot tamale, will be a dead woman.
