Stephanie: You're really trying my patience, you know? You don't need to make this so damn difficult. Where is my husband?

Donna: Wait, you-- you haven't talked to him? He doesn't know you're back.

Stephanie: No. I was actually hoping to surprise him.

Donna: And you expected to find him here alone?

Stephanie: Yes, that was our deal. Tell me, how do you think I should react to something like this?

Nick: It's open. Listen, I got a lot of work to do here, so-- James. Uh... I thought you weren't coming in till tomorrow.

James: Well, after our last phone conversation, things sounded pretty urgent. So I jumped on the red-eye and got here as soon as I could.

Nick: Thank you. Thank you. I appreciate that.

James: I'm sorry I couldn't make it to your wedding.

Nick: Oh, no. No. No. It was spur-of-the-moment. She got your gift. She was touched.

James: I'm glad to hear it. I don't see much of Taylor these days, now that she's married with a baby, but, uh, we spoke at Christmas. She sounds great.

Nick: Yeah.

James: Everything's all right, isn't it?

Nick: I'm not really so sure. She's been having a tough time of it lately. But it's good that she has a friend here.

James: What's going on, Nick? What's going on with Taylor? (Doorbell rings)

Taylor: Hey, Rick.

Rick: Taylor, hi. Um...

Taylor: Listen, it's not really a good time right now.

Rick: Okay. Um, well, look, I just-- I-I wanted to tell you that I've been thinking a lot about the conversation we had yesterday, and, um, I want you to know that even though I'm Brooke's son, it doesn't mean that I don't care about you, that I'm not concerned.

Taylor: That is so sweet of you. Do you want to come in for just a second?

Rick: Sure.

Taylor: Okay.

Rick: Thank you. Thank you. I won't be long, I promise.

Taylor: So what's going on?

Rick: I have-- I have a lot of respect for you, Taylor. You've--you've given me such great advice over the years, ever since I was young. All through the chaos between my mom and Ridge, you remained such a-a good friend, and I want to return the favor.

Taylor: How?

Rick: I want you to be happy.

Taylor: That makes two of us.

Rick: (Laughs)

Taylor: (Laughs)

Rick: I-I think that wonderful things can happen for you, Taylor. I-- but I don't think that they can happen the way things are right now with you and--and Nick raising my mom's child. I just don't think you're ever gonna have a chance to be truly happy.

Eric: Katie, hi.

Katie: Oh, hi. Um, I was just, uh, uh, dropping off these marketing proposals.

Eric: Oh. Oh, I didn't need those until next week. I thought I made that clear.

Katie: I just wanted to get a jump on things.

Eric: Well. You share the same work ethic as your sisters, I see.

Katie: Yeah.

Eric: You know, having all three Logan girls here has been a real blessing to me.

Katie: (Laughs) who woulda thunk it, right?

Eric: Yeah.

Katie: Um, actually, I-I'm kind of curious to--to see what you think about one of those proposals. It's--it's actually a revamped idea that Stephanie had a couple years ago.

Eric: Oh.

Katie: Um, I know she's-- she's due back soon. Have you heard from her?

Eric: No, no, not at all.

Katie: Oh. That's kind of strange, isn't it?

Eric: No, I don't think so. I mean, you know the situation between the two of us. She has no reason to contact me.

Katie: (Sighs)

Donna: If you really cared about Eric, you would give him a chance to be happy.

Stephanie: I love my husband, and I want him to be happy. And I am really tired of giving you all of these chances to do the right thing.

Donna: Stephanie, please.

Stephanie: I told you what would happen if you didn't keep our agreement. Your brother goes to jail.

Donna: No, Stephanie, stop it. Just put down the phone, please. Don't do this.

Nick: Well, James, it turns out that your dear friend Taylor is, um, is dealing with a lot lately.

James: Well, I need to know everything.

Nick: You know that our son was conceived using an egg donor?

James: Yes, Taylor told me that.

Nick: The biological mother of our child is Brooke Logan.

James: What? How did you get Taylor to agree to that? Why would you use Brooke as a donor?

Nick: We didn't. There was a mix-up in the lab.

James: Oh, my God. How did that happen?

Nick: It's a long story. It--it happened, though, and she desperately needs support.

James: I can't believe this-- Taylor having her worst enemy's baby. I can't imagine how you're both dealing with this.

Nick: Well, it's been difficult, to say the least. But on a positive note, it does seem that she's starting to turn a corner.

Rick: Taylor, I know this is not easy for you to hear, okay, but you need to hear it. This battle that you're fighting with my mom and Nick-- the cards are stacked against you.

Taylor: Rick, this is where you're wrong, okay?

Rick: T-Taylor, please, I know what I'm talking about here. My mom and Nick-- they have--they have something really intense between them, and it's not gonna stop, surely not now that they share a child together.

Taylor: Okay, so what do I do? I just give up?

Rick: Taylor, I know this isn't easy for you. I know it hurts, okay, but--but think about it. The odds are my mom and Nick-- they're gonna end up together eventually. I mean, don't--don't you think it's best that you--you get out now?

Eric: Stephanie and I are separated. We're gonna get a divorce. So there's really no reason for her to contact me.

Katie: Right.

Eric: Listen, I have a little time right now. Uh, if you'd like for me to go through this right now, I will. Now... look, I like the merchandising idea for the Felecia fragrance line. And I absolutely agree with using the Phoebe line to get more emphasis on reaching out to a-a younger market. So, uh... Katie?

Katie: Hmm?

Eric: (Laughs) you haven't heard a word I've said, have you?

Katie: What?

Eric: I know what's going on here. You're worried about Donna, her relationship with me.

Donna: Put down that phone.

Stephanie: Donna, I want you out of my husband's life. And I know that you do not want your brother to go to jail. So let's just make this happen, please.

Donna: First of all, I am not the one who agreed to this. Brooke did. Second of all, I have tried to live up to my end of the bargain. I told him that I couldn't commit to him, that I would make his life miserable, but it didn't drive him away. It only made him more determined to help me. That's how much he loves me.

Stephanie: (Chuckles) I-I-I-yeah, I know, I know. I know all about the sex addiction thing. My God, as though an-an--any normal healthy man doesn't pray for something like that. Knowing my husband, I'm sure it turned him on.

Donna: That's all you think that we have going for us is sex?

Stephanie: You sew and cook, as well?

Donna: Face it, Stephanie, you just can't accept that another woman could have a meaningful relationship with Eric. I have watched you belittle him and treat him like crap. Do you honestly think that he'd even take you back even if I did break it off? I mean, he--it's over. He doesn't love you anymore.

Stephanie: Well, that's my problem. Yours is your brother. Let's see, prison, no prison, prison, no prison. I don't know, I guess we're about to find out whether you're a selfless or selfish young woman.

Donna: You are not going anywhere.

Stephanie: (Sighs)

Donna: We're not through.

Katie: You're right, Eric. I am. I'm worried about my sister. I just want her to be happy.

Eric: Katie, I'm gonna do everything I possibly can to make sure that your sister is happy.

Eric: I know you love her. I just wish things weren't so complicated.

Eric: I'm not gonna hurt your sister. I promise you that.

Donna: Go ahead and call Lt. Baker. Go ahead. Turn Storm in. It may mean losing my brother, but it will mean gaining your husband forever.

Stephanie: Where did you come up with this little idea? All on your own? Or did you discuss it with the other bimbos at bimbo school? When are you going to get it? I am giving you this one last chance to save your brother.

Donna: Yeah. Yeah, you are so generous.

Stephanie: Stop trying my patience.

Donna: Oh, come on. Don't lord it over me. Your one little bit of chance to be with Eric is if I go through with this deal. So don't push me.

Stephanie: All right, Donna, we both have a lot at stake here-- my husband, your brother. It's either going to be a win-win or a lose-lose situation for our families. So please, just figure out how you're going to handle this with Eric, and handle it. End it!

Donna: (Sighs)

James: I appreciate you being up front with me. I know how happy Taylor is with you. It's wonderful to see her with a man who's completely committed to her. That's why she was thrilled to be able to give you a son.

Nick: It's a blessing. We've--we've both been blessed.

James: And you're sure Brooke is the biological mother? This thing--there was a mix-up?

Nick: No, no, it's been confirmed.

James: I'm having such a hard time processing this. I can't imagine what it's doing to Taylor.

Rick: My mother always gets what she wants. You know this.

Taylor: Mm-hmm. And what about you and what you want? Everybody knows how you feel about Ridge.

Rick: Yeah, yeah, I-I can't deny the fact that I would do anything humanly possible to keep my mom and Ridge apart.

Taylor: Including trying to get your mom and Nick back together.

Rick: You know the chemistry between those two.

Taylor: No, all I know is that Nick is committed to this family. He's committed to me. The problem is your mother can't stop making these destructive choices. She always wants what she can't have. Nick is presently unavailable, so now she wants him. And let us not forget that she's already had him once. They were married for, what, how long? Look where that ended up.

Rick: Taylor, please. You're trying to protect yourself. I know that. I-I understand that. I just can't believe that what happened between my mom and Nick was an accident, okay? I-I truly believe that fate has brought them back together again.

Taylor: No, you got it right when you said the word accident. Because it has nothing at all to do with fate. The whole thing was a mistake. And if I had thought you were going to come in here and say this garbage, I wouldn't have let you in in the first place.

Rick: Taylor, look at you. This is not you, okay? I'm--I'm worried about you. I feel partly responsible for what's happened, okay? But look what my family has done here. My mom and--and my sister are--are at the center of this mess, and-- can you just-- can you please trust me when I say that all I want to do is help?

Taylor: I don't want any of your help. My husband and I have already been working through those issues. It's fine, you know? And--and I'm--I'm willing to accept what I can't change. And I've moved on. So why don't you take your mission and you move on and you get out my door and go home. Just go. Go.

Rick: Taylor, what is this? (Cell phone rings) (rings)

Donna: Hello?

Katie: Donna, listen, Eric is on his way over there right now. You have to end things with him. I-I don't care what it takes. Just turn him off somehow. Get him to go away.

Donna: I know what I have to do now, Katie. (Door handing rattling)

Donna: Look, there's someone at the door.

Katie: Donna, please, end things with Eric once and for all.

Donna: Oh, Eric. Crash diets are evil.

James: Taylor has one of the most brilliant minds I've ever worked with in psychiatry. She's a compassionate woman. She's a brilliant woman. It's unfathomable what she's been through. Her life has been very troubled, what with her--her drinking and then what happened to Darla. She hasn't started drinking again, has she?

Nick: No, no. It was close on one occasion, but, no, she hasn't.

James: Well, that's a relief. As long as she stays sober, Taylor can handle anything.

Rick: Is this how you're coping? You're drinking again?

Taylor: I'm not drinking. I... (sighs) I-I've been a little stressed out. Look, I'm entitled to chill out a little bit, you know? I'm fine. I'm fine. I'm in control.

Rick: What about little Jack?

Taylor: Jack is fine. I'm--I'm not drunk, okay? I had little tiny cocktail just to take the edge off. It's okay. Rick, don't make a big deal out of this. It's not a big deal, okay? It was just... (inhales sharply) listen, you already went over, and you told your mother that I had the--the panic attack. And I don't need any more problems. Don't create any more problems for me. Please, promise me that.

Rick: I'm not gonna promise you that.

Taylor: Rick, no, wait. Please, please, listen to me. Please, Rick, don't-- don't say anything. No, no, no, no, no! (Sighs)

Stephanie: Another Logan daughter. Lucky me.

Katie: If you're looking for Eric, he's not here. He's with Donna. I just spoke to her.

Stephanie: I hope your sister really understands how serious this is about your brother.

Katie: Don't worry. She knows what needs to be done. She's with Eric right now, and soon things will be over between them for good.

Donna: (Crying)

Eric: Donna?

Donna: (Sniffling)

Eric: Wh-what are the tears about?

Donna: I have to tell you something, Eric. And I-- it's the hardest thing I've ever had to say, and I-I-I don't know how you're gonna react.

Eric: This isn't about trying to break you and me up, is it, because you and I have been through this already.

Donna: No, no, Eric, it's nothing like that. I love you so much that I-- (sobbing) I can't keep doing this.

Eric: Doing what? What is it? What are you talking about? Now come on, tell me. You can--you can tell me. You can tell me anything.

Donna: (Crying) it's Stephanie. She's back, and she--she knows something, Eric, something about my family. And--and if I don't do what she says, she's going to ruin everything.

Eric: Is she trying to blackmail you? What is she trying to get you to do?

Donna: She wants me to end my relationship with you. (Sobbing) I don't want to do it, Eric. It's the last thing I want to do, but if I-if I don't do what she says, she's going to tear my family apart.

Eric: Wh-wh-wh-why--how-- how can she possibly blackmail you?

Donna: She knows something. Something--something awful.

Eric: What?

Donna: She knows who shot her.

Eric: Who?

Donna: That's what's so horrible. The--the person that shot her-- it's my brother.

Eric: Storm?

Donna: And if I don't leave you, she's gonna put him behind bars. Eric, please, please, you have to help me, Eric.
