Donna: What did you say?
Thorne: I said I want to marry you.
Donna: Marry me?
Thorne: Yes.
Donna: Is this for real?
Thorne: Yes, it's for real. Look, I know it's sudden, okay? I know it's the last thing you expected -- but, Donna, you're amazing. And I don't want to lose you. So -- will you marry me?
Donna: Yes. Yes, yes!
Nick: Hey.
Brooke: Oh, you're back.
Nick: Yeah, the accountants finished crunching the numbers. I wanted you to have these reports before tomorrow morning's meeting. What' this?
Brooke: Thanks.
Nick: What's this?
Brooke: It's a very thoughtful gift from a very thoughtful friend.
Nick: Really?
[Bird singing]
Brooke: Thank you, Nick.
Nick: Thank me? For what?
Brooke: This beautiful bird. You gave me something to fill the silence now that the children are gone.
Nick: Well Brooke, this isn't from me.
Brooke: If it's not from you -- who's it from?
Nick: I don't know. How'd it get here?
Brooke: It was just delivered. There's a card.
Nick: "From your secret admirer."
Stephanie: Mmmm. That's a delicious martini. Honey, well done.
Eric: Well, what do you know? After all these years I finally got it right.
Stephanie: Well you always get it right -- in your own way.
Eric: A qualified compliment, thank you. You're in a very good mood, aren't you?
Stephanie: Well, I am. I mean, it's been a long time since we've just sat around sort of relaxed -- had a martini, have the kids over. Ridge is spending the evening with Ashley. Things don't get much better than that.
Eric: You know, speaking of Ridge and Ashley --
Stephanie: I know, I know. I won't get ahead of myself. But I do think she'd be awfully good for him.
Eric: And the best thing about her is that her last name is not Logan.
Stephanie: You can say that again.
Thorne: This past year has been -- it's been very rough for me. Since Darla died, losing her I -- I just felt like there's been this big hole in my life. For a while, I thought Taylor was my future. You know, I loved her, but it just wasn't meant to be. And when we called off the wedding, I just thought that happiness wasn't in the cards for me.
Donna: But you don't feel that way anymore?
Thorne: I know that we haven't been dating that long, but these past few days, Donna, they've been amazing.
Donna: I feel the same way. Like some outside force just brought us together.
Thorne: Yeah. But it's not only about us. I have a little girl to think about. Anyone I bring into my life is going to affect her, too.
Donna: No, I understand.
Thorne: Do you? Because being a stepmother to a little girl who lost her mother -- that's -- that's serious stuff. And if you're not up for it, I understand, okay? I just need to know right now.
Donna: You never have to question how I feel about Aly. I love that little girl. And I know I can never replace Darla. And I don't want to. She was your wife. She gave you that precious little girl. And I'll always respect that.
Thorne: Thank you.
Donna: But, what about your mother? Is she going to respect our relationship?
Thorne: Don't you worry about my mother, okay? We are getting married. And you are going to be Mrs. Thorne Forrester.
Stephanie: Let's not talk about the Logans.
Eric: All right -- for now.
Stephanie: Forever.
Eric: No, you know what -- we'd be fools to ignore the fact that Brooke is now working at Forrester Creations. Designing, if we are to believe what Jarrett had to say.
Stephanie: Sweetheart, why are you so threatened by that?
Eric: It's not threatened that I'm feeling. It's just wary, you know? Even you have to admit, she's a very savvy girl.
Stephanie: When it comes to business, okay I'll give you that. But, honey, she's never designed before. I mean, that's another whole ballgame. You know that, and I know that. I think Nick's made a big mistake hiring her to design.
Eric: Well, I think we would be making a very big mistake if we ignored the fact that she was there. I know Brooke very well, she hates to lose -- especially to you.
Brooke: You mean, you're not --
Nick: Your secret admirer? Well, I didn't send this.
Brooke: I just assumed you did. I'm really embarrassed now.
Nick: Why? Obviously I admire you, and it certainly is no secret.
Brooke: And you're married to Taylor. You love her, but you "Admire" me. That's really heartwarming, Nick. I can't believe I just said that. I think I'm spending too much time alone.
Nick: Well one thing is for sure, and that is -- you are not alone.
Brooke: No, I am alone. I'm not here with my children. With you. What am I doing? I'm dumping my issues on you, again. I'm sorry.
Nick: No you're not. You're not dumping any issues on me. You hit a little rough patch. We all do from time to time and we get through it. You'll get through it.
Brooke: Will you just hold me for a minute?
Nick: Yeah.
[Heavy breathing]
Thorne: Wow! That was -- I don't know what that was. Whew -- man.
Donna: Just think. That's how it's gonna be every night -- every morning -- every afternoon --
Thorne: Okay, stop. You're killing me. It's so amazing. Just out of nowhere, you come into my life and changed everything. I thought I needed pills to get over Darla. All I needed was you.
Donna: I need you, too.
Thorne: You know what? I have an idea. Excuse me.
Donna: What do you have in mind?
Thorne: Hello, yes. This is Thorne Forrester. I'm going to need the name of your finest jeweler in Las Vegas please. Great -- could you ask him to come up to my room. And to tell him to bring his finest collection of engagement rings and wedding bands. That's right. Thank you.
Andy: Mrs. Forrester.
Stephanie: Mr. Johnson, my goodness. What are you doing here?
Andy: Well, I was in the neighborhood.
Stephanie: Oh -- kids, could you come over here right now for a second? Go in and see grandpa in the kitchen and tell him not to burn the popcorn, okay?
Aly: Okay, grandma.
Stephanie: Thank you. And tell him not to drink too many martinis. Well, this is certainly a surprise. I mean, to what do I owe this pleasure?
Andy: Well, there's be something nagging me in the back of my mind ever since our nice little chat at the Cafe Russe.
Stephanie: Mm-hmm.
Andy: And thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction. I am very interested in Brooke right now. She is -- she's quite a woman. But what I can't get past is -- why are you encouraging me to do this? What's in it for you?
Nick: First of all, it is not your fault that you don't have custody of Hope and R.J.
Brooke: Then whose fault is it?
Nick: Well, partly mine. Because I'm the fool who left the lighter behind. There wouldn't have been a fire if I hadn't done that.
Brooke: I know what you're doing. You're trying to make me feel better.
Nick: No I'm not.
Brooke: And I really appreciate that. I do. But we both know who's fault it is why my kids aren't living with me right now. I really messed things up.
Nick: Well, it doesn't mean you can't make them right.
Brooke: That's true. I am going to get my kids back. I am. I love them more than anything in this world. And there's nothing or no one who could stop me.
Jeweler: These are some of our newest diamonds. My buyer in Bangkok flew in this afternoon. You're the first to see them.
Donna: Oh, they're gorgeous!
Jeweler: What type of setting were you interested in?
Donna: Oh, uh -- I don't know, I haven't really thought about it. Just something simple, I suppose. You know, a solitaire.
Jeweler: Very well. I have a lovely -- solitaire.
Thorne: No, no, no. You know what, I think we can do better than that. What's the story with this one here?
Jeweler: Ah, that is our three-stone emerald-cut, just over eight carats. Absolutely flawless. Would you like to try it on?
Donna: Oh -- no, no, no, no. No, Thorne, I couldn't.
Thorne: Of course you can. Try it on. Look at that. It fits. It fits perfectly. And it looks perfect.
Donna: Thorne, no --
Thorne: You don't like it?
Donna: No, I love it, it's just too much. I don't need something this extravagant. I just -- I just need you. That's all I care about.
Thorne: Honey, I feel the same way, okay. But I want the whole world to know how happy you have made me. And this baby says it in spades.
Jeweler: Is it settled then?
Thorne: We'll take it.
Jeweler: Would you like to look at wedding bands also?
Thorne: Of course, we would. Wouldn't we, Donna?
Donna: Oh, definitely.
Oh, oh, oh, it's magic
Jeweler: Sir, you have chosen a beautiful ring.
Thorne: Thank you. Good night.
Jeweler: Good evening.
Thorne: You still like it?
Donna: I don't know what to say. I mean, it's -- it's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
Thorne: Well, before we go any further -- I know it might be a little late. Donna Logan, will you marry me?
Donna: I would be honored.
Thorne: We need to celebrate!
Donna: And I know just how to do it. The perfect end to a perfect evening.
Stephanie: Well let's be very honest with one another. Umm -- my daughter-in-law and I have never gotten along. That's a well-known fact.
Andy: So you'd like me to be some sort of diversion, yes? To keep her away from you and your family.
Stephanie: I don't know that diversion is the right word. Brooke has a lot to offer the right man. Maybe that right man is you, I don't know.
Andy: Those her kids?
Stephanie: Yes, they're my they're spending the evening.
Andy: Well, I've forget about her. Your mother is not here, okay? Tonight is just about you and me.
Thorne: Yeah -- you and me. So, where do you want to rush off to?
Donna: Okay -- well -- I saw a wedding chapel and it's open 24 hours. And I figure, the sooner we get there, the sooner we can become husband and wife!
Thorne: A chapel? Donna, you -- you want to get married tonight?
Donna: Well, yes! Don't you?
Thorne: Well, I thought that we would go back to L.A., and then, you know, be engaged for a while -- move in together. And then, you know, eventually -- yeah, down the road.
Donna: Down the road? Oh, oh I see how it is.
Thorne: How what is?
Donna: Do you have any intention of marrying me, Thorne Forrester? Or did you just ask me so you can have sex?
Thorne: No -- that is not why I want to wait.
Donna: Then what? Was it your mother. Did she say something to you on the phone -- to give you a second thought.
Thorne: No, Donna.
Donna: I can't believe this is even happening!
Thorne: Look --
Donna: You know -- maybe, maybe we should just forget about everything, okay? Maybe -- maybe we shouldn't even get married. You know, because I remember what it was like for Brooke with your mother. Your mother called all the shots and I am not going through that. I'm not gonna do it.
Thorne: Donna, wait. Please, stop. Listen! This is not about my mother, okay? This is about Aly. Aly, okay? Look, I want her to be a part of this wedding. I can't just come back to L.A. And say, "Hey, sweetie, here's your new step-mommy." Not after everything that she's been through. Honey, I promise. Listen -- we are going to be a family.
Donna: Yeah.
Thorne: Yeah.
Donna: Well not if Stephanie has anything to do with it.
Thorne: Well guess what -- my mother doesn't decide who I want to be with. Ever. And I want to be with you. I choose you. I could not ask for a more sexy, beautiful fiancée. Hey, I know you're going to make my family proud.
Donna: Just think -- I'll be like a Forrester the world's never seen.
