Taylor: Hey, I'm the one pregnant. I'm supposed to be emotional. What's your excuse?
Bridget: Taylor, you know how much I admire you. You've been a mentor to me, and a really good friend.
Taylor: I know, and that's why no one knows better, how much this baby means to Nick, and how much it means to me.
Bridget: I do. That's why what I have to tell you is so significant.
[Knock at the door]
Dr. Caron: Taylor.
Taylor: Oh hi, Dr. Caron.
Dr. Caron: How are you?
Taylor: Just a little hormonal here. Everything's fine.
Dr. Caron: Wonderful. Dr. Forrester, can I talk to you outside for a minute?
Bridget: I'll be right back.
Dr. Caron: You know, there was no reason to meet with Taylor about her glucose test. She's well aware of the procedure.
Bridget: Oh, I know.
Dr. Caron: So was there some other reason for your meeting? Bridget? I hope you weren't thinking of telling her that the donor eggs used in her IVF were your mother's. You can't.
Constantine: You're making a mistake, man.
Rick: But Phoebe did spend the night here, didn't she?
Constantine: Yeah. Alone on the couch.
Constantine: Right, but this is your place. You were obviously here, watching her. Did you touch her?
Constantine: What?
Phoebe: What?
Constantine: Dude, yeah I was here, but for her. You know, as a friend.
Phoebe: Constantine's helping me with my music. He can make things happen for us.
Rick: Yeah, I know. What he wants to make happen does not involve me.
Constantine: That's because you haven't even shown up, man.
Rick: I'm here now! Aren't I?
Constantine: Not for long. Nobody comes into my house and talks to me this way. Get out. Get out, right now!
Dr. Caron: You cannot do this, Bridget.
Bridget: Taylor has to be warned.
Dr. Caron: She will be just as soon as we've determined if there is a problem.
Nick: Doctors.
Bridget: Nick.
Nick: Hey. You know where Taylor is?
Bridget: Oh, yeah. She's in my office. I'll be right there. If there is even a possibility that the baby Taylor's carrying could be my mother's, she and Nick have to be told.
Brooke: It's about Ridge. Before he confessed to shooting Shane, you two were getting closer.
Ashley: Well, we'd planned a few dates.
Brooke: You were interested in him?
Ashley: Yeah, I was.
Brooke: But you're not anymore?
Ashley: He's in jail. It's kind of hard to have a relationship under the circumstances.
Brooke: I'm sure when all the facts come in about the case, Ridge will probably just get off on probation. So would that make a difference to you?
Ashley: Do you want it to?
Brooke: Shane's killing was an accident, Ashley.
Ashley: What happened to Nick was not.
Brooke: No, that was all Stephanie's doing.
Ashley: I'm confused. I'm so sorry. You're defending Ridge? If you think he's such a great guy, then why did you leave him?
Nick: So what's going on, kiddo?
Taylor: We're just waiting for Bridget.
Nick: I just saw her in the exam room next door with Dr. Caron. Something wrong?
Taylor: I don't know. Why?
Nick: They just looked a little intense. You know.
Taylor: It must be about some other patient because it's not me. I'm about to get a clean bill of health.
Nick: So you got your test results back?
Taylor: No, not yet. But I know how I feel, and I feel really good.
Nick: Yes, yes you do.
Taylor: Mm-hmm.
Nick: You're not nauseous anymore?
Taylor: No, I'm happily, healthily pregnant.
Nick: Really? Healthily? Is that a word? Healthily?
Taylor: Yes. I think so. I just invented it. Okay. No, I know what it's like to be pregnant and healthy. I've done it a few times. I would know if something was wrong.
Dr. Caron: The investigation hasn't turned up any evidence that proves that your mother's eggs were used, and not Taylor's anonymous donor's.
Bridget: Well, there isn't any evidence that proves that they weren't.
Dr. Caron: Bring this issue up with Taylor before we know all the facts would be totally irresponsible. We have to be objective.
Bridget: Objective? I was married to Nick, and that woman in there is my mentor. She's the reason that I am a doctor. And there is a damn good chance that the baby she's carrying is my half-sibling, so don't talk to me about being objective. I can't be!
Phoebe: Just calm down, okay?
Rick: Phoebe, listen to me. I understand that you don't want to insult this guy. All right?
Phoebe: He's my friend, Rick.
Rick: But you barely know him.
Phoebe: You barely know him. I'm sorry, but Constantine was right. I've asked you to come down here and sing with me all the time, and you're always busy. And so I started coming by myself and last night I was exhausted and stressed out about my dad. And I just fell asleep on the couch.
Rick: Phoebe, if you were exhausted and stressed out, you should have called me --
Constantine: Wrong. She called you, man. You don't even answer.
Rick: I was at my sister's. Not that that's any of your business and neither is Phoebe.
Constantine: Well, actually, if she signs a record deal with me, she will be my business.
Rick: Haven't you been listening? There is way too much going on in her life right now, for her to launch a new career.
Constantine: I think you're the one who hasn't been listening, Rick. Phoebe wants this.
Rick: I can't listen to this anymore. Let's go. Come on --
Constantine: Phoebe, you can come back any time you like. Not you.
Phoebe: Look, he's just really protective. He's very loyal.
Constantine: You sure about that?
Phoebe: There's not a doubt in my mind.
Brooke: I know it can be a shock -- realizing the people you thought you knew are capable of doing something you can't even imagine.
Ashley: Yeah, it's shocking. Is that how it was for you when Ridge punched your son?
Brooke: Well that was different.
Ashley: You're right. This time, Ridge is accused of first-degree murder.
Brooke: But he's not going to be convicted. Because I am doing everything possible to make sure of that.
Ashley: I don't understand this family. I really don't.
Brooke: It is complicated.
Ashley: Kind of. Yeah. You're his ex-wife and you're trying to get him off on a murder charge and set him up on a date all in the same day. Or are you maybe fishing? Are you trying to figure out if Ridge and I are really over so -- you can go after him again?
Dr. Caron: If you're asking me to give you permission to pursue this, I'm sorry. I can't.
Bridget: I'm not asking for your permission, Marsha.
Dr. Caron: Are you saying you can't be a part of this case?
Bridget: No, I'm telling you that I already am a part of this case. And I'm not going to go in that room and pretend that I'm not.
Dr. Caron: Nobody is asking you to lie or pretend. I'm simply urging you to be responsible in this.
Bridget: Telling the truth, that's the most responsible thing I can think of doing right now.
Dr. Caron: I agree, if we knew what the truth was. But right now, that hasn't been determined.
Bridget: I know. That lab tech told me that he handed me my mother's --
Dr. Caron: He said he thought he handed you her eggs.
Bridget: Well that's how he remembers it.
Dr. Caron: This is a hospital, Bridget. We can't rely solely on people's memories. They're not reliable enough. That's why surgeons double check to make sure they're working on the right organ before they operate. That's why our patients wear coded bracelets that match their charts. Protocol has got to be followed. We have got to go through the proper channels on this.
Bridget: So you're talking about lawyers?
Dr. Caron: The investigation is ongoing. We will get to the bottom of this and until we do, you are not to say anything to anyone.
Rick: Phoebe, look. I'm sorry. Really, I am. But this has got to stop.
Phoebe: Don't be like that.
Rick: He was all over you, and you know it.
Phoebe: Look at me. Look at me. Do you trust me?
Rick: Yes. Yes, of course, I do. It's not you, okay? It's him.
Phoebe: Do you know how many times my father has said that about you?
Rick: I'm being a jerk.
Phoebe: I think you're overreacting.
Rick: Okay, fine. That's fair. But look, Phoebe, it's one of the things I love about you, but the way you see people -- you only see the good in them and you think that when they want to help you, that they want to help you. But that's, that's not always the case.
Phoebe: You're right. Constantine's not being completely selfless. I mean, helping me could be good for him and his business.
Rick: It's not just about business for him.
Phoebe: You know what, it's not just about business for me either. I told you, Constantine's my friend. I enjoy working with him. But you are the man that I love and Constantine knows that. I mean, I'm always raving about what an amazing guy you are. And then you come barging in acting like this. I don't get it. What's going on with you? What's got into you?
[PDA ringing]
Constantine: Whoa, somebody left their PDA. They've got an urgent message. It's blocked.
Rick: This is Rick Forrester. Please leave a message.
Constantine: Rick. Ok at all this room!
Ashley: Hi Rick. It's me. About last night, um -- call me. Au revoir.
Constantine: Oh! Wow, Rick was supposed to be with his sister last night. And unless his family is a bit more messed up than I heard -- that ain't his sister.
Rick: What's getting to me? Constantine. Constantine is getting to me. And from the looks of things, he's getting to you too.
Phoebe: You just said that you trusted me.
Rick: I do, Phoebe. I do. And I know that you would never do anything, but guys like that do not need any encouragement.
Phoebe: Nothing happened.
Rick: Nothing? He didn't hit on you in any way? Phoebe?
Phoebe: Maybe he likes me a little bit.
Rick: Likes you a little bit?
Phoebe: It doesn't matter. You are the only guy in the world for me, just like I'm the only girl for you. Please, can we just not argue? Let's go somewhere and eat something or --
Rick: Okay. No, that's a good idea.
Phoebe: We've been out of sync lately. I want to fix that.
Rick: Me too. Hey, you know what, Bridget is going to be in the hospital all night. Why don't we go back to the beach house and order some food?
Phoebe: Okay.
Rick: Cool.
Phoebe: What?
Rick: Damn it.
Phoebe: What?
Rick: Um, my PDA. I think I left it up in Constantine's.
Phoebe: Oh, I can go get it.
Rick: No, no. I'll get it. Stay right here. Be right back.
Ashley: Just level with me. It's hard for me to believe that you're simply here to sing Ridge's praises.
Brooke: He's going through a difficult time right now. He's a good man. He just needs a friend.
Ashley: As long as that's all I am, is a friend?
Brooke: Well that would be up to you.
Ashley: Oh, come on. Whatever I would share with Ridge, it couldn't possibly compare to what you've already shared with him. And it seems that your relationship with Nick is over. Granted, I don't know you very well, but you seem to be the kind of woman that doesn't go through life without a "Plan B" maybe.
Brooke: Well, don't believe everything you hear about Ridge and me.
Ashley: What about what I hear about you and Nick?
Brooke: All my hopes of having a future with Nick went out the window the minute that I found out Taylor was pregnant with his baby. Nick would never abandon the mother of his child.
Constantine: Forget something?
Rick: Nope. I got it.
Constantine: Is that it?
Rick: Not quite. Phoebe is very special to me. I love her, she loves me. I would do anything to protect her and I don't want her to get hurt.
Constantine: Oh, trust me, Rick. I doubt I'm going to be the one that hurts Phoebe.
Nick: What's taking Bridget so long?
Taylor: I don't know. She must have gone down to the lab or something.
Nick: Can't they just send the stuff up?
Taylor: No, you know how Bridget is. She likes to do everything herself.
Nick: Yeah. Well, we'll just be patient then, right? She's done a great job for us.
Taylor: Yes, she has. She should be very proud of herself.
Nick: Ah, speak of the devil. There she is.
Taylor: Hi, Bridget. Is everything okay?
Bridget: What?
Taylor: The test results. Is there a problem?
[Constantine remembering]
Phoebe: Rick's very loyal to me.
Constantine: You sure about that?
Phoebe: There's not a doubt in my mind.
Constantine: Phoebe, I have more than a few doubts about this guy. And if you knew what he was up to -- so would you.
Rick: Okay.
Phoebe: I want to say something.
Rick: Yeah, what is it?
Phoebe: I love you -- Rick. And I'm a little flattered that you were jealous, but you don't have to be. We've been through too much and we know each other too well to be suspicious. Rick, we're not like other couples. At least, the ones in our family. And when we say we're committed, that means something. I mean, even if we're having problems, we would never do anything to hurt each other.
Constantine: Rick, Rick, Rick, Rick, Rick. Sounds like you've got another lady in your life, man. I wonder who she could be.
Ashley: Hi Rick. It's me. About last night, um -- call me. Au revoir.
Brooke: I don't claim to know anything about your personal relationships, Ashley.
Ashley: True, and I don't really know anything about your relationship with Nick.
Brooke: It was incredible. [Brooke remembering] Something that I will share with nobody else.
Nick: I'm asking you to marry me.
Brooke: Yes, there were issues. I can't deny that.
Nick: We don't need the money for God sake. I'll take care of her.
Brooke: And I don't want to be taken care of. But I don't remember all the problems. What I remember is the magic, the romance. I had a life that anybody would envy. And I had a man that most women would fantasize about. He was masculine, rugged -- sometimes he was funny, attentive. We shared a relationship that transcended anything else in our lives. And even through some of the worst times, there was a thread that always bound us together.
Nick: Will you be my wife?
Brooke: Until now.
Ashley: Are you sure about that? I mean, you guys have always managed to get back together, right?
Brooke: Yeah. But not this time. Quite a while back, Nick asked me if I wanted to have a baby. And I said, no. 'Cause I was happy with the way things were. And now that baby has changed my life. When I think about it, the baby that Taylor's carrying is as significant to my life as it is to hers.
Taylor: Bridget, is something wrong? If something's wrong, you have to tell us.
Nick: Is the baby okay?
Bridget: Yes. The baby's very healthy.
Taylor: Um, so the pregnancy is progressing along normally?
Bridget: Yes.
Taylor: And you and Dr. Caron don't think there's anything to be concerned about?
Bridget: No. No, all the tests are negative.
Nick: Negative?
Bridget: Oh, it means, it's a positive thing. There aren't any health or developmental issues.
Taylor: So all my tests have come back good?
Bridget: Yes.
Nick: Well, they should be. You're taking care of yourself, you're eating right, exercising, taking the vitamins.
Bridget: Good. And you're going to need to keep that up, Taylor.
Taylor: Oh, I was reading about these supplements and I wanted to ask if you thought these would be safe for me to use.
Bridget: Oh, uh --supplements. Yeah, you know what. I'll give you a list of the ones that I think are best. I know how excited you two are about this baby. It's really nice to see that. It just makes what I have to say so much more difficult. Taylor, the um -- your child. The baby that you're carrying is --
Taylor: What? Bridget, what? What are you trying to say?
