Brooke: It's over?

Stephanie: Yes.

Brooke: So, you never really accepted me at all?

Stephanie: I did, and I would have continued to if you had come back to Ridge.

Brooke: Oh, that's easy for you to say now.

Stephanie: No, it isn't. I looked -- I looked at you through his eyes. I accepted the fact that you were the love of his life -- his inspiration. You could have made him so happy, and you haven't.

Brooke: Yeah -- yeah, that's all you really care about. You never really gave a damn about me. As long as I did what you want, I was your family's salvation. But if I didn't, I was just the same old slut from the valley that I've always been.

Stephanie: Well -- you said it, I didn't.

Jackie: Oh, it is so good to have you back.

Nick: I wasn't gone that long.

Jackie: Oh, but I missed you. I was actually hoping you'd call. Just a quick one, let me know how things were going.

Nick: Call my mother on my honeymoon?

Jackie: Okay, I know why you didn't. You and Brooke needed your privacy.

Nick: Well, that's hard to come by when your wife's naked picture's plastered on every street corner in the free world.

Jackie: Yeah, Stephanie certainly went all out with this campaign.

Nick: Campaign? I would call it more of a full-on assault.

Jackie: Well, the important thing is that it didn't succeed. And now that Brooke has your ring on her finger, all the doubters, all the naysayers, they're just gonna have to clam up.

Nick: Don't count on that, Mother.

Jackie: If Ridge accepted it, why wouldn't everyone else?

Nick: Brooke's sister Donna's come to town. And Donna thinks that Ridge should still be married to my wife.

[Knock at the door]

Ridge: Donna? Hey.

Donna: Hi.

Ridge: I didn't know you were in town.

Donna: Well, I just got here.

Ridge: Hey, did Brooke tell you about Darla?

Donna: Yeah, I'm so sorry. I mean, what a shock.

Ridge: Yeah, it was a big blow to the whole family.

Donna: If there's anything that I can do --

Ridge: Thank you, sweetie.

Donna: Not a good time for either Forrester brother.

Ridge: I can't complain, seeing what Thorne's going through.

Donna: But you lost somebody you love, too.

Ridge: Brooke's still here. R.J. didn't lose his mom.

Donna: Yeah, but it can't be easy, seeing her with another man. Especially that one.

Ridge: You met Nick?

[Donna sighs]

Donna: This morning.

Ridge: Not a fan?

Donna: Well, he's handsome, assertive. I could see how some women would be into that.

Ridge: Not you?

Donna: Well, I think she could do better. And she did, when she was with you.

Ridge: You know, I just wish she felt that way.

Donna: It doesn't make sense. I mean, she's always told me you were her destiny. And now that you can finally be together, she chooses Nick Marone?

Ridge: I made a lot of mistakes when Taylor came back into my life. I don't know what Brooke's told you --

Donna: You did everything you could to make it up to her.

Ridge: I guess it wasn't enough. My mother's acceptance, control of this company just wasn't enough.

Donna: And that's what confuses me the most. I saw Stephanie's press conference -- her tribute to Brooke. Was that for real?

Ridge: Yeah, it was.

Donna: But Brooke didn't believe her?

Ridge: Well, she did. Didn't change how she felt about Nick, though.

Donna: Well, if it makes any difference, I think Brooke's the one making the mistake now.

Brooke: So this change of heart -- that was just a ploy to get me back with Ridge?

Stephanie: No! I did have a change of heart. Otherwise I would never have let you anywhere near him.

Brooke: You never really wanted me to be anywhere near him.

Stephanie: Well, not now. Now it's too hurtful for him.

Brooke: Well, maybe it's just too frustrating for you.

Stephanie: This was never about you and Nick.

Brooke: Yes it was! That's what you don't seem to understand!

Stephanie: I don't -- I offered you everything that you have ever wanted -- to be part of the family, to control the company, to love you like a daughter unconditionally. And I can't figure out for the life of me whether you are too stupid or too stubborn to have just simply said yes! Well, talk about lost opportunities. Okay, you've walked away from being part of the family. So you cannot own the company. You've got to give it back.

Brooke: No, I'm not.

Nick: Her sister is a beauty. She has a big problem with my objecting to Brooke's modeling.

Jackie: Well, she's not Brooke's husband.

Nick: She doesn't think I should be either.

Jackie: Ridge?

Nick: That's right. She said that Ridge would absolutely think it was perfect that Brooke's naked body was plastered everywhere.

Jackie: Well, she's probably right. Ridge is a Forrester and this campaign is making them millions. And quite frankly, the boutiques cannot keep Brooke's bedroom in stock.

Nick: And Brooke deserves the credit for that. She is the best CEO in the business, mother.

Jackie: You're proud of her. You want her to succeed.

Nick: She has succeeded. She's got nothing to prove. Neither do we.

Jackie: Well, I'm sure that Brooke's sister will see that, too. Once she spends more time with you.

Donna: Ridge, please, don't give up on my sister. All I need is a little time. I'm sure I can get through to her.

Ridge: I don't think so, Donna.

Donna: I'm staying at her house. I'll have plenty of time to persuade her.

Ridge: It's too late.

Donna: No, it's not.

Ridge: Look, she married Nick. She's moved on. I have to accept that.

Donna: No, you don't. I haven't.

Ridge: Well, you should.

Donna: But you love her.

Ridge: That's right. And I always will. But her future isn't with me.

Donna: I don't know what Brooke told you, but come on, you know my sister.

Ridge: Well, we always have Forrester Creations. The bedroom line. Our creative side hasn't gone by the wayside here. Here, look at this design. We don't have to be a couple to inspire each other. Working side by side's probably gonna be a little uncomfortable for awhile, but we'll -- we'll get our balance after awhile. Look what we've been able to do with the bedroom line. With my designs and Brooke's charisma on stage, I think this campaign is unstoppable.

Donna: When was the last time you talked to Brooke?

Ridge: Why?

Donna: I think you better.

Brooke: I a not giving you anything. And I am not going anywhere.

Stephanie: So, you're just going to stay here at Forrester to spite me?

Brooke: I'm staying here, because this is where I belong.

Stephanie: I thought you just said a moment ago, you belong with Nick.

Brooke: I do.

Stephanie: Well, you can't have it both ways.

Brooke: Nick is proud of what I'm doing here.

[Stephanie scoffs]

Stephanie: Oh, right, he'd just rather have you operate somewhere else.

Brooke: You know, the way you're acting, I thought you'd be happy about this.

Stephanie: I'm not happy, because you've missed the opportunity to marry a man who really loved you, respected you, accepted you for exactly who you were, never tried to change you, never tried to control you. And instead, you end with some guy who doesn't understand you or appreciate you, who wants to dominate every aspect of your life!

Brooke: Sounds like you're talking about yourself.

Stephanie: Ooh. Okay, you're not going to change. And you're going to continue to make these terrible decisions. I don't want you anywhere near my family.

Brooke: Well, that's fine. I'm gonna be running Forrester Creations out of my office at Marone Industries.

Stephanie: You're married to a wealthy man. You do not need our company.

Brooke: But this company needs me.

Stephanie: Oh, right. And what about the so-called "needs of your husband"? If you keep working here at Forrester --

Brooke: Oh stop it, Stephanie! Save your breath and spare me the concern. I've earned my place here at Forrester. And I'm never, ever going to give this company back to you.

[Door slams]

Stephanie: Well, if you won't give it back, I guess I'll just have to find a way to take it back, won't I, missy?

Brooke: Sally said you wanted to see me.

Ridge: Don't worry, I'm not gonna ask about your honeymoon. It's a joke.

Brooke: Well, I'm not in the mood.

Ridge: I couldn't tell.

Brooke: It's not you. It's your mother. She wants me to give back all my stock.

Ridge: What?

Brooke: Well, if I'm not a member of the family, I don't deserve to be running the company.

Ridge: It's because you married Nick.

Brooke: No, she never really accepted me, Ridge. She made me CEO, and she gave me the stock, and it was all for you.

Ridge: She's angry.

Brooke: I'm angry. I let myself get sucked in by her all over again.

Ridge: Well, you didn't get fooled completely. I mean, you're not married to me.

Brooke: I'm sorry. There's more important things going on here -- with Thorne and Alexandria losing Darla. My problems with your mother are just trivial.

Ridge: Logan, you can talk to me about all this.

Brooke: No, let's just focus on Thorne, what he needs.

Ridge: He's gonna need us to take up a lot of slack around here in the next while.

Brooke: Yeah, it's gonna be pretty hectic.

Ridge: I know you probably don't want to work as closely as we have been, but I think under the circumstances -- the way this bedroom line has taken off -- it might be necessary for awhile. I've got some new designs. They're probably the best I've done in a long, long while. And you are gonna look amazing in them.

Brooke: Wow, it's gorgeous. You're right. It would look amazing.

Ridge: Oh, yeah.

Brooke: But my replacement will look just as good in them.

Ridge: What are you talking about?

Brooke: I'm not going to be modeling Brooke's bedroom line anymore.

[Nick remembering]

Brooke: I should have realized what Stephanie would try to do. You tried to warn me. I should've listened.

Nick: Well, you didn't.

Brooke: Well, I thought I could handle it.

Nick: It's our wedding day.

Brooke: Stephanie did this because she knew how you would react. She knows how frustrated you are, Nick. She ran that ad to hurt us. But it doesn't have to.

Nick: You should've fired those people the day you took control of that company.

Brooke: You know that's not the answer.

Nick: It's not a question anymore, Brooke. You either fire them or give it back!

Nick: Have the import quotes redrafted. Check --

[Knock at the door]

Stephanie: Dominick, may I have a word with you?

Nick: I actually have a few choice words for you. But in light of your recent family tragedy, I choose to hold my tongue.

Stephanie: Thank you. I'm sure Darla would appreciate that as I do.

Nick: I always liked Darla. She was able to stand up and put you people in your places.

Stephanie: Yes, I love Darla dearly. And I had a lot of respect for her. I respect you, too, even though we don't agree very often.

Nick: You respect me?

Stephanie: Mm-hmm.

Nick: Why do I feel some sales pitch coming here?

Stephanie: No sales pitch.

Nick: Good. Because the last campaign you ran wasn't a big hit with me.

Stephanie: Oh, I thought it was a really wonderful ad campaign. I take full responsibility for it.

Nick: Brooke never gave you permission to run that.

Stephanie: No, but I didn't have to twist her arm to take the photographs, either.

Nick: Again, your idea.

Stephanie: And a very good one, I might add.

Nick: You thought you could push to the edge, didn't you? But instead, Stephanie, you made me stronger. You made me look at Brooke for who she really is, what's important to her. You just didn't expect me to love her for it. So I guess there's a thank you here. Thank you, Stephanie. Brooke and I have never been closer.

Nick: Your son, Thorne, is mourning the death of his wife, and you're here worried about my marriage to Brooke?

Stephanie: Well, Darla's passing made me realize something -- you can't leave business unfinished. You can't. You might not have time to tie up loose ends if you wait for another day.

Nick: Well, I'm not one of your loose ends and neither is Brooke.

Stephanie: I gave Brooke the stock, because I wanted to acknowledge her importance to our family and to my son.

Nick: She's not important to him anymore?

Stephanie: No, she married you.

Nick: So she should give the stock back?

Stephanie: That would be the ethical thing to do.

[Nick laughs]

Nick: Ethical and very convenient for you.

Stephanie: She refusing to leave Forrester. Doesn't that bother you?

Nick: No, I'm not the one who gave her half my company.

Stephanie: Perhaps she's refusing to leave, at least on a subconscious level because she just doesn't want to leave Ridge. Don't say I didn't warn you. If you want to keep your wife, keep her away from my son.

Ridge: Brooke's bedroom without Brooke?

Brooke: I'll still be working on the line, but as CEO of Forrester Creations.

Ridge: Behind the scenes?

Brooke: We'll still collaborate.

Ridge: So, I'm gonna be designing things, but not for you.

Brooke: Well, like I said, as CEO --

Ridge: Not for you to wear?

Brooke: No.

Ridge: Nick forbid it?

Brooke: It was my decision.

Ridge: But you're doing it for him.

Brooke: Out of respect for my marriage.

Ridge: He's insecure.

Brooke: He's my husband. Ridge, it just didn't seem right after everything that's happened with you, the things that Stephanie's done.

Ridge: So, it's our fault that Nick can't handle what you do? What you love to do?

Brooke: Please, Ridge. You know what the bedroom line means to me. This is really hard for me. I'm sorry.

Ridge: Well, maybe it's better this way. You're married to another man. It's gonna be difficult for you and I to work together. Maybe I should just take this opportunity to concentrate on other things -- the couture line. Make sure Thorne gets through this. Spend some time with my son.

Brooke: Well, I'm not pulling the line.

Ridge: I'm talking about my life. I'm trying to move on.

Brooke: That's good.

Ridge: I will never believe that you love Nick the way you loved me. But I guess he makes you feel safe the way he controls and directs you. But that's not you, Brooke. That's not who you are. That's not what you need.

Brooke: We will get through this.

Ridge: Why? Why should we even get through anything? When your love for me -- I can see it right there in those eyes. Our son needs his parents. And I need my Logan. That's you, no one else. She doesn't exist. I could search the world, but I will never find another Logan. So when it comes to healthcare, what do you believe?
